This restaurant is now under new management and has been renovated to fit a new aesthetic. It gives upscale tropical vacation vibes and I think it fits the restaurant. I went on a Friday night and there was a live band playing which really added a nice ambiance to the dining experience. Alberto was a great server and made sure we were well taken care of. With the bite30 menu, I choose the caesar salad, burger and fries, creme brûlée. We even added on calamari as an appetizer. We received some pita and eggplant dip as a free app, which I wish would have come out during our first appetizer rather than right before the main course. The food was hot and well portioned, I only wish there was a tad more flavor/seasoning on everything considering the price points of the items. We came to celebrate my birthday, and I was happy to find that on a Sunday it wasn't crowded at all. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the design and ambiance of the restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful, elegant, inviting, and incredibly pleasing to the eye. The entire space felt upscale and luxurious. Our server was welcoming, professional, and very attentive. He took the time to explain menu items and provided detailed service throughout our meal. As much as we enjoyed the atmosphere and service, we expected a bit more from the food. The drinks were just average, and the calamari appetizer lacked the crispiness we were hoping for. We also ordered our steaks medium, but they arrived closer to medium-well. While I enjoy that the steaks has some fat for flavor, it was way to much. We didn't make an issue of it because the steaks were still flavorful, and we were genuinely enjoying ourselves. Now let me tell you about the star of the evening, the Blue Crab Fingers! Whoever decided to put these on the menu deserves an award. They were packed with flavor, and the toasted bread was the perfect accompaniment. Dipped into that delicious sauce, every bite was absolutely incredible. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée. Vines by H completely blew us away. We started with two drinks -- a margarita and a Moscow mule. The mule was fantastic. The margarita wasn't our personal favorite, but that was more of a preference thing and not a reflection of the quality. We began with the burrata and WOW. It felt straight out of Europe. We spent time traveling through southern France and Italy last year, and this dish genuinely reminded us of some of the best restaurants we experienced there. For dinner, we had the filet with peppercorn sauce and the pasta bolognese -- and we basically licked both plates clean. The filet was unbelievable. Honestly better than a steak I had at a long-standing local Michelin restaurant just a few days ago. The pasta was a surprise favorite -- completely homemade from the noodles to the sauce, and absolutely incredible. The only thing we'd skip next time would be the mashed potatoes. We finished with the bread pudding and crème brûlée and... WOW. Both were phenomenal. Also worth noting for anyone with food allergies -- I have a severe mushroom/truffle allergy and felt very comfortable dining here. The staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, which made the experience even better. This has easily become one of our favorite restaurants in Orlando. We arrived looking for indoor seating and were abruptly told that no indoor tables were available because every seat was reserved. However, looking around, the restaurant appeared to be at roughly 30 percent capacity. After speaking with the hostess my wife spoke directly with a female manager wearing grey clothing to address this. My wife physically showed this manager that live reservations were wide open on both OpenTable and Google for every single time slot between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM. I also took a photo of this availability as proof.Despite showing her this clear evidence, the manager still insisted we could only sit outside in the 90-degree Orlando humidity.Forcing guests outside under false pretenses while your dining room sits mostly empty is an unacceptable and dishonest business practice. Happy hour drinks are served in the entire place but food specials are only in the bar and we certainly didn't have that info when we sat. It's possible it was written somewhere. The chimichurri steak I had was flavorful and I enjoyed it but my espresso martini was made without real espresso and honestly that bothers me so much. I should have asked. There is a live band but you can't see them from the restaurant side so you can only hear and it's almost too loud. Apparently, he was new to the restaurant as a server, but I would recommend him over most seasoned servers. He was pleasant, attentive, service-forward and accommodated our every need. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer as well the crab claws. Both appetizers were flavorful, but my preference of the two were the would be the crab claws which were served in a Calabrian chili butter sauce and accompanied by two toast points. For an entrees we ordered the lamb chops and scallops, a side of the whipped potatoes along with the bolognese. The bolognese might have been some of the best I have ever tasted even When dining at an Italian restaurant; sauce was slow cooked with just a hint of nutmeg. The lamb chops were served as a double chop and seared to perfection with a reduction and of an herb mint sauce at the bottom. The mashed potatoes were just average, but flavorful. For dessert, we ended our evening with creme brûlée which was served with raspberries. It was creamy with a perfect brulee top. This establishment also has a humidor for your cigar smokers. Oh, and the pastry chef's banana bread! Outstanding. I'm not a fan of bananas, and the flavor and texture of the dessert had me eating my portion and more. The environment was an appropriate venue for friends, coworkers, and our team's leader. [August] I'm back again for a different friend's birthday. We decided to partake in their Magical Dining option. We also enjoyed the Monday Martini special. The Magical Dining options had something for everyone, and the portions were generous. I decided to eat nearby for my first 2024 Bite 30 experience. Vines Grille wasn't too far and I was able to make a reservation for Saturday at 8. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by a hostess and seated in the back away from the loud live music. I was given the Bite 30 menu without having to ask. For drinks, I wanted to do something mild for wine, so my server suggested the Pinot noir (10 dollars). It was perfectly mild and had the right grape flavor without being dry. The bite 30 menu was 35 dollars, so I took advantage of that. I started off with the PEI mussels, which had an ample amount of mussels in a broth. The mussels were easy to open, but some of the meat was small. It was still good and had a good flavor from the peppers. The bread that was included was rock hard, and didn't soak much of the broth. Thus, I just drank it from the bowl. For my entree, I chose the airline chicken. The chicken had a decent amount of meat, but it was quite dry. The asparagus on the other hand, had a nice grilled flavor. The mushroom was nicely sauteed, and the goat cheese mashed potatoes were fine with the cheese having a good flavor. There was only one dessert option, which was the bread pudding. The flavor of the day was biscoff, and it had a wonderful light cinnamon flavor. The pudding was moist and there was the right amount of whipped cream topping. It was filling, so I saved some for home the next day. The service was good and attentive. My server suggested the right wine for my taste. I really enjoyed the restaurant served normal portions for Bite 30, instead of shrinking the sizes with a magic wand like maybe restaurants do during September magical dining promotions. The atmosphere was a bit upscale, with a jazzy nightclub vibe. However, the live music on the other side was a bit loud and was bland jazz (skit skat feeling). Unfortunately, due to the high outside temperatures, the AC wasn't able to cool the dining area that well. Quite a good amount of seating indoors, and there was outdoor seating as well. Vines Grille is located in The Fountains complex at Sand Lake Road. Parking can get a bit difficult during the weekend evening, but complimentary valet parking is available at the restaurant. For the Bite 30 promotion, the good quality of food and having regular portions makes this place worth the cost. The service was good and the atmosphere upscale, but it was quite hot inside and the bland jazz made it dull. This restaurant has the BEST happy hour in Orlando. Most places trick you with tiny portions or they only offer the cheapest menu items for happy hour, but not Vines Grille. You can get full portions of escargot, tuna tartare, parmesan truffle fries, and flatbread for half the regular price. The most expensive plate we got was the tuna tartare for $11. If you go outside of happy hour, you can expect to pay between $35 and $65+ for an entree, but I think their food is worth it. This is a higher-end restaurant, so the quality and preparation of the food is amazing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. It's modern and elegant, but still cozy. This is the type of place that you'd dress up for. Only downside is that the service wasn't the best. I went on a random weekday because I was out running errands, so the restaurant was pretty much empty, and the staff still took forever to take our order and check up on us. Why wouldn't they come out and tell us? Why bring it out? So needless to say, I finished my meal and then my husband's arrived shortly after I finished. The Swiss chard wasn't chopped and the spines were still in them, so you couldn't even put the large pieces in your mouth without cutting them up. Now, the dessert, we got the bread pudding and it was horrid! It was dry and it tasted like it had been made a few days ago. Unfortunately, this was not the best experience for me and my friends from Canada. We were sat promptly at 7pm per my reservation and I noticed how the dining room had approximately 25 percent of the tables occupied. We were sat next to a party of 8-10 people and with their conversations and the music so loud from the bar side, we had to speak up to be heard clearly or we had to ask each other to repeat what they said. (I can see why a number of the private rooms were in use!) Our server was Fallon, I believe, and she informed us she was new and would be assisted by another gentleman (did not get his name due to the noise). I then showed her my Yelp check-in coupon for $10 off a drink and she said she was not sure how to address that and would get someone to help me. She must have forgotten (my phone was sitting on the table the entire time with the coupon showing) so after 45 minutes, I asked the gentleman server if he could take care of this for me as I had not heard anything back. He took care of it right away. We started off with Cosmos and we were stunned when they arrived, as they tasted like fruity drinks. You couldn't even taste the vodka! We asked Fallon about it, and she said the ingredients were Grey Goose, cranberry juice, triple sec, and SIMPLE SYRUP. We told her we never heard of simple syrup in a Cosmo and she said it was very common. (I did a quick search on Google and we could find not recipes with that ingredient. What a waste of Grey Goose!) Other mishaps with our drink orders included: (1) one friend ordered a Mai Tai and the male server came back and said the bar did not have one of the ingredients (couldn't here exactly what) and (2) the other guy ordered a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned (don't recall) on the rocks and it came strained into a cocktail glass. He just asked for a glass of ice instead of having the bar make him another drink. The high point was the food! We ordered the escargot appetizer, and it was quite good. I wish they had served it with soft bread rather than toast as it was difficult to dip the toast in the sauce as the pieces kept breaking off. I ordered the lamb and scallops combination, and they were both cooked to my liking and very flavorful. The dish was served with mint pesto, artichoke, caper berries, red onions and sun dried tomatoes. My friends ordered the filet mignon and a chicken dish. Both enjoyed their food, and my friend said the steak was the best one he's had. The seasoning was spot on. We all enjoyed our main courses. We ordered a bottle of Malbec with our dinner and had another to relax and catch up after dinner. We stayed at the table probably for close to 3 hours and when we left, the dining room never got as much as half full the entire time. For a Friday night, that is saying something (given I expected Father's Day weekend to be busy). As such, except for the phenomenal main courses, I don't think I would come back again. To the Yelp Gods...you need to create a button that simply says "Outstanding"! This place I think is the best food I've had all year. I mean from start to finish everything was ammmmaaaazzzzinnng. Let's begin: Walking up to the place it's so cute. Located in a strip mall, it looks very welcoming as you walk up. Greeting: I went for brunch and it wasn't overly packed but as I walked up they greeted me by name (I had reservations). Nice touch. We reserved the lounge area as opposed to the dining room which was in the bar area. The space is just beautiful, such a vibe and I'm always down for a food vibe. They have plenty of seating inside and also there is an outdoor seating area which is super cute (see photos). Okay, now to the food. We ordered Bloody Mary, they have several variety's we ordered one of each and they were all fantastic. Next the chicken drumsticks. Heavenly. I mean really really good. The sauce that comes with it is on point. Next we had the truffle fries. Not too truffley. Seasoning was on point. No need to add salt or pepper. Next crab fingers. To die for, well maybe not die but certainly to travel for. I don't live in Orlando but it's worth a flight. Lastly bread pudding. This was a surprise because it was my daughters birthday and Kevin our fantastic server surprised her with it and it was the BEST bread pudding I've ever had. This place was amazing.
