Guys this place rocks simply because they are flexible and supportive. Guest service is warm n friendly. I be been coming here for food and drinks for past 3 years and so far always had good time. Owners are friendly and ambience is upbeat and vibes are positive. They keep on improvising and introduce new stuff every now and then. This was my second order from Curry On. I got the malai kofta with garlic nann. The nann was average I liked the fresh garlic on it. The malai kofta was extremely oily which I didn't like and a little on the bland side compared to other malai kofta I have had. My first order was the Egg Curry which was really good! Its my go to place for dinner. never disappoints. The dishes I would suggest here are the curry on chilly and tbeir tandoori pomfret is amazing. Also try the chicken biriyani, its not like other biriyani's which are either overflavored or tangy, it has well balanced flavors. Ordered 2 gravies - paneer bhurji and baingan Bharta. Both of them terrible and my stomach has started paining already within 30 minutes of eating. Too much masala taste in paneer and absolutely no salt in bhurta. I have had many really nice dishes before and I have even given a very positive review for Curry on on Yelp, about a year back. We decided to try this place on a recent visit to Newark Avenue. It was an off-hour (5pm on a weeknight), and we were the only ones in the place. First thing you notice is the furniture and decor. It's a little bit disco, with funky modern furniture/booths. We were in shorts and t-shirts, so it felt a little fancier than we were, but we were welcomed no problem. The food was great. We ordered vegetable samosas, and as someone who often finds Indian food too spicy for my taste, the samosas were yummy and not too spicy. We also ordered a chaat (can't remember exactlly what it was called), which was a yummy cold dish of chick peas and crunchy crackers (like goldfish, but not flavored), with tamarind and yogurt. Never had anything llike that - loved it. We split an order of a creamy almond chicken dish, which was delicious, but very rich. Also had puri (arrived at the table already flat, not puffed) and raita. All good. Would definitely try this place again....maybe a llittle bit better-dressed. read more

I've never sat down and eaten here. I always call for a pick up order after I've gotten a tattoo (usually the only reason I'm ever in JC). Like most Indian restaurants, it's difficult to understand them on the phone. Despite the accent barrier, my order has always been correct and complete. They have always made my food within the time limit given. I always order lamb korma (mild) with garlic naan. This place throws a little more spice in than any other Indian restaurant I've been to. Reason- there was no one to take the order as we waited almost 20 min. There were only 3 other tables occupied which were already served so technically we were next. We have been going to this restaurant since it opened as Curry On - This is a great place for family and friends. The food is great and ambiance is fun!!! We took my mother in law for her birthday - the staff went out of their way to get a small cake and candles even without us asking them to. That was a great touch! We will be going back over and over again! Karaoke night is fun and the host makes you feel like the best singer ever even if you suck!!! =) The karaoke host has a great voice and he plays Indian, American and even Spanish music at request. Ambience-wise, I'd describe it as a cross between a lounge and a restaurant (not sure if there's a name for that sort of thing). I have received an adequate amount of chicken. An abundance if you will. Tonight, I was lucky if I ate 4 pieces of chicken. Taste wise, A++. But about 4 pieces of chicken. Today we sat at the restaurant. It was pretty empty and service was friendly but food was not as good as the last time. A few weeks back we did take out. We waited awhile for the food but it was worth it. Take out was made to order. Today we didn't wait that long but food was disappointing. Great spot for a date night. The music was loud enough to enjoy, but quiet enough for conversation. We has samosas, butter naan, butter chicken and chicken lollipops. Fantastic food, great portions. If you like my mild Indian spicing this is not the place for you. The food all entrées I have tried to date are incredibly hot. Even when I have specifically requested that the tone down the heat on the dishes.
