The food-- Chicken curry was flavorful but there was a TON of oil floating on top. We actually removed 6 tablespoons of oil with our spoons! Pomfret biryani was delicious, spicy and with sizable portions of fish. Flavors in this dish were spicy as requested- burst of chili, cardamom and cloves. Good place. Was hesitant because of the ratings. Only had 3.5 when searched. Exceeded my expectations. PROS: Good food. Good flavor. Interesting decor compare to many places. Nice and clean. Everything seems to be brand new. It's worth a much higher rating. I paid less for my dinner that I would pay somewhere else. I travel across the east coast and always search for an Indian restaurant and this was a great choice. Cons: - naan was not as hot and started to dry out when the waiter brought it to the table. - staff needs to be slightly more attentive. - no napkins. Just one. It's definitely a must at an Indian place with all of the sauces. - they had a delivery of food supplies and dragged everything across the dining room. I have a mixed experience about this place. When dined at restaurant - I dont quite like the food. We were here for a Sunday lunch buffet. Though the layout was good in terms of variety the taste deterred. When I order for home delivery - AMAZZING!!! HATS OFF !! Am not sure if they are two different restaurants/chefs when you order and dine-in...ha ha! The quantity is humungus, food tastes amazingly flavourful, is always well packed to avoid any spills and retains warmness, extras like pickles/onions/chutneys are packed generously and always arrives before time. I placed my order at 1:25 PM to deliver 1 paratha and 1 Masala Kaju and it took more two and half hour (2.5 Hrs) to get delivered at my house which is approx 2 miles away from restaurants. I called twice to get update on my order and both time got same excuses that delivery person would be reaching shortly and we are busy today- these were excuses given to me. I often have the Sunday lunch buffet here. For $12.90 it's an excellent deal. There are abuot 15 dishes to choose from, plus soup, salads, sauces, chutneys, naan and even dessert. Everything wonderfully prepared, incredible indian spices and fresh, excellent quality ingredients. Curry On is Curry Off for me. I've ordered from here quite a few times in the past and never had an issue. It had been a while since I ordered from here, so I felt like ordering from Curry On. No issues with placing the order, no issue with picking up the food as it was ready in 30 minutes, everything I ordered was there, packaged properly. My only issue from this visit is the food itself. My tangra kebab was so dry and tough, it was difficult to cut in to it with a fork and knife. The tangra kebab, being a special cut based around the thigh, should be very soft and juicy, but wasn't the case this time. In the past it used to be one of my favorite dishes from here. The second issue was with the Chicken Lajawaab. As soon as I opened the container, oil just spilled all over my table. I never found this much oil in an Indian restaurant dish. I understand some dishes call for more oil than others, but this was just too much. I didn't even feel like spooning out all the oil. I was turned off. I ended up throwing everything out, and settled for a satisfying bowl of cereal for dinner. I don't remember this place being like this. I always liked the food. I used to even order the Matla Chicken, but after today's visit, I won't be ordering again. Seems like there has been a change in kitchen staff or something. My friend and I were in the area for a film screening and decided to give this place a try (the decor looked super cool online). We were charmed by the decor, and we were AMAZED at the deliciousness of the food. We had the sesame lamb appetizer (OUT OF THIS WORLD, SO GOOD!), he had the chicken rogan josh, and I had the chicken tikka masala. I enjoyed the tikka masala, but I LOVED the rogan josh. It was MAGNIFICENT. My friend and I kept talking about the meal all night, we were so impressed. The service was outstanding...there was our waitress (a delightful young lady who was so helpful in helping us to choose our dishes) and two other waiters kept checking on us regularly. Both very indulgent, creamy and perfectly spiced; and we both cleaned our plates. I've been to numerous Indian restaurants in my life and this is a totally different experience. Both the owner and the waiter came out ten times to make sure we were happy. Now I have to mention the wine. We are a total winos and we ordered a bottle of French red (At an Indian restaurant? I know, right!) It was so freaking good! It was the only French red on the menu: Ghalib 2013 blend, Pays D'Oc, I think. I commented on how good it was to the owner and he said he knows the importer. Of course he does! In a sea of Indian restaurants this place stands out. We went there for dinner and just loved the ambience. It was very comfy and definitely felt like a retreating lounge. The booths were also semi-private. My personal fav were the lasuni gobi (for veggie lovers) and chicken lollipop for appetizers. For main course it was the paneer kadai (although it was a bit oily). My friend ordered chicken biryani and was aptly spiced unlike most biryani houses where its over spiced. The food portion is big for the price. I went to this restaurant along with my wife on valentines day. Never experienced such horrible service. Half the restaurant was empty under the name of "reservation" for the next 2 hrs we dint see anybody occupy those tables. In the place of "Samplers" we received full table starters, half cooked chicken, cold and oily spring rolls. We had to shove the food down our throats. Not many liquor options.
