3.5 Stars This review is for a la carte dining. We ordered lamb biriyani and butter chicken (plus naan), which was enough for the two of us. The biriyani was tasty and had a little heat--definitely need some raita to go along with it! The butter chicken was extremely sweet! My sister and I never had a butter chicken dish that was so sweet before. We did attempt to temper the sweetness with the leftovers with lemon juice and yogurt, but that only took it so far. We don't get to eat Indian food very often and were hyped up, only to be let down by the butter chicken. Entrees do not come with naan. Order naan separately. Service was adequate. This restaurant was one of the worst I ever been to. The manager is rude and incompetent. Driver had no common sense to ring the doorbell as I was sleeping and they make me drive in the snow to pick my food up. And when I got there the manager was arguing with me saying that it was my fault. Horrible customer service. If I were you I would stay away from that place as far as possible. I haven't had Indian food in a long time, and wow did I pick the right place for my order. I got a variety of dishes from appetizers to dessert, and they did not disappoint. Been going to this small Indian restaurant since it opened and the food has stayed deliciously the exact same from day one.

Small place but presents its self as comfortable. We came after the lunch buffet, Appetizer: we had the bhaji pakora, very good but to share between two (if your hungry) it a bit small, but there was two of each vegetable on the plate so it does split evenly between two people. Main course: we both had the chicken curry, portion size as compared to other places was good. Very flavorful and the price is more reasonable then most other indian restaurants in the area, but your not paying for decor. I recommend this place by all means read more

Delicious food. Their lunch buffet doesn't have many things to pick from, but what they have is great: butter chicken, tandoori chicken, naan, rice, etc. I can pile on three plates easily and have quite the filling lunch. During dinner, no buffet, but the menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from. I'm a huge fan of the creamy butter chicken, and also the asian fusion chicken lollipops that come with this orange goopy sauce that I can't identity but love. The wait staff is friendly, helpful, and very attentive. The space is a bit small so I could see it being full, but I've never been turned away. It's a great spot for a delicious meal! read more

I'm gonna mirror what almost everyone else is saying here - what a find! Went in for lunch intending to order an entree but ended up doing the buffet. Impressions: - The place is small but wasn't busy when I was there. It is very clean and well kept. - The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and the service was quick! - They are very generous with Naan - one of my pet peeves at a lot of other Indian restaurants. The food: - The butter chicken is wonderful! Most Butter Chicken I have had leans towards the bland side - this was flavorful, tender and overall spectacular. - The Pakora are nicely spiced and very flavorful - The Tandoori Chicken is to tender that it falls apart and the flavor is spot on. All in all, this place is great. I can see it becoming a lunchtime staple - just beware of the damn speedbump in the parking lot that the paint is worn off of unless you want frequent flyer miles from behind the wheel of your car. read more

I've been a huge fan of this place since they opened. It's hard to go wrong with the buffet, although the (slightly pricier) weekend version has a few extras you won't find during the week (e.g., gulab jamun). All of the buffet items have just the right amount of spice for the average person (I am not among this number- I prefer to nuke my tongue on a daily basis). The menu items don't disappoint, either. I recommend the chili chicken and the ghost pepper curry. Despite the name, the latter isn't actually all that hot. Maybe they're just adding the ghost of a ghost pepper. The only negative thing I can come up with is the bones in the goat curry. The curry is delicious- maybe the best or second best thing they serve. The problem is that some of the bone fragments are on the smaller side, and you might mistake one for a tender morsel of sauce-covered goat. Umm, munch, slurp, crunch. Wait, crunch? OW! read more

I heard about this place from a friend and let me tell you, it's something you'd never think would be in Germantown, MD, but it is EXACTLY what this area needs. The food here is great and when you have a craving for Indian food, this place definitely hits the spot. I've done carry-out several times and the quality has always been good and consistent. Even the packaging and bagging it comes in is pretty good, which I think gives a good impression to carry-out customers. Let's see... Chicken Tikki, Vindaloo, and Spicy Ghost were all very good, as well as the rosemary garlic naan and raita. I've also had the Mo:Mo dumplings, which I thought they were good too. I've also had their lunch buffet and it's all very well assorted and it's only $7.95. You really can't go wrong here! The interior could possibly use a little work, but I really don't mind it at all, especially since everything tastes so good here! Simply our new favorite Indian Restaurant in Montgomery County! In addition to the usual Indian beers, they have San Miguel, which I've always found tasty and refreshing. Another unused find in an Indian restaurant is Mo Mo, chicken or vegetable (we had chicken), which are dumpling that very much like like Chinese wontons, but with a spicy, tart curry sauce. Mo Mo? Yes, yes! The Lamb Rogan Josh, a mild curry, tastes deliciously of the tender, plentiful lamb, and the Baingan Bharta, with the minced eggplant smokey from being charred, was some of the best that we've had. If you like Indian food, I'm sure you have some favorite Indian breads. The Onion Kulcha at Curry place came out steaming hot, as all of our dishes did, and here it really tastes of onion. It's a small restaurant, so maybe we'll see you there, cause we're looking forward to returning and trying other dishes. read more

The food is excellent here! I have multiple food allergies and they are always very accommodating. My favorite dish is the Chicken Kadhai or the Tandoori chicken. My husband loves the Ghost Chicken Curry and the Chicken Vindaloo. They always greet you with a smile and the food is fast and delicious. We also love coming for the buffet. They have a great variety of food and you never leave hungry :-) we always bring our guests here and find any excuse to come. We highly recommend this restaurant! read more

This place was really good, but not amaaaazing good. From reading the other Yelp reviews though, I think their lunch buffet has various offerings each day, so maybe the offerings weren't the best when I went yesterday. Weekday buffet is $7.95 and weekends are $9.95 - which is a steal. There's very limited indoor seating and a few outdoor tables too, but you will definitely have to wait for a table if you come around 12:30 PM or later. Service here is very attentive and we always had our waters filled and dirty dishes cleared quickly. The samosas here are delicious, as is the naan. I was a huge fan of the Tandoori Chicken and the fish curry. The chickpeas were also really yummy. The only thing that annoyed me was that I really had to dig through the curry to get some decent chunks of chicken - most of the pot consists of bones :( The dessert options are also pretty interesting and, while I enjoyed trying them, they didn't quite match up to my taste preferences. I'm sure that the other menu items here are great and worthy of the (almost) 5-star rating bestowed to them by Yelp, but just based on the buffet, I've had better Indian food elsewhere. read more

I've ordered carryout from them a few times. My favorite is the goat vindaloo and rosemary garlic naan. The butter chicken is a too sweet and the spicy ghost lamb curry was ok but the lamb was a little chewy and didn't seem it was cooked in the sauce enough. This is an okay place for dining in Indian cusine. Over a period of time I have not seen consistency in their dishes. Pros : the lahsuni gobi is really good. Cons : the hakka noodles is very oily. The second I walked in and didn't smell that strong aroma of curry accompanied by other rich spices gave me the impression that to food wasnt authentic. The buffet is only open for lunch, which was a bummer, but understandable. I ordered the chicken tikka masala along with Vegetable Samosa, samosa chat and naan. The food arrived quickly. I think that the samosa appetizers tasted okay, but lacked spices. It tasted kind of sweet and the presentation was sloppy. The chicken tikka Masala tasted good, but reminded me more of just regular chicken in creamy sauce, hints of tomato and heavy with salt. Looking for a good place to eat that wasn't too expensive. Found Curry Place on Yelp and saw the favourable reviews. The place from the outside looks like a strip mall cheapy, inside it is nicely furnished with soft Indian music being played, created a nice ambiance (get rid of the TVs though) We started with the vegetable samosas and paneer tikka. The samosas were large and stuffed with some surprising spice, just enough to be enticing. The paneer tikka had a great consistency, but truly lacked flavour. As entrees we had the lamb saag (lamb in chopped spinach) and the goat vindaloo. The lamb saag was spicy enough for those who do not like the heat. It was super tasty. Beware the goat vindaloo, this is not like other Indian restaurants, the heat is dialed up on this (and I like hot). However, it is not so bad that you cannot taste anything, it was superb. What I found extremely surprising, was that as you approached the end of the vindaloo, the spices "calmed" and the flavour was incredible. The wait staff was attentive, nice, checking on me to make sure I could handle the spice. The water glass was constantly refilled for me. We will definitely be going back to try other dishes! read more

One of my all time favorite places to get Indian take out. It's one of those small, tucked away places with great food. I've tried several of their dishes, and amongst my favorites are the Chili Paneer, the spicy "Ghost" chicken and lamb curries (made with Ghost peppers, yum), the salmon tikki, the chicken tikki, and the staff chicken curry. Not only is the food reasonably priced and yum, they also customize it upon request. So if you want to increase or reduce the amount of spice in a dish, for example, they will be happy to accommodate you. Overall, this continues to be my favorite (and most frequented) indian restaurant in the Rockville/Gaithersburg/Germantown area. read more

Are we all eating at the same place? Food is ok...but not particularly great. Where is my beautiful biryani and why does everyone use such terrible, fatty cuts of goat (especially for the extra mark-up). The chicken korma was reasonably good, actually. The aloo tikki were really greasy and the seekh very boring. I'd go to Eastern over Curry Place any day (except when it's in the single digits and we refuse to leave the house). I was really excited to see some places finally offering Indo-Chinese in our area, though. And I MIGHT have to give them another try for that. read more

The food here is very well prepared. The naan is so fricken yummy (the chicken and cheese will blow your mind). I normally get the lamb/chix combo with a few substitutions on the chix variations. I pair it with brown rice (oh yeah!). My husband and I order take out from here pretty often and only once have we had a minor incident with our order. After we called to inform of the issue ( provided chicken instead of lamb on the hubs dish), they quickly delivered a replacement meal to our home. I didn't even know they had delivery! Since I am a customer service snob, I appreciate the staff quickly rectifying the issue without hesitation. read more
