If it was possible to give this restaurant zero stars, I would. I try to support local small business and avoid chains, so we decided to stop in. We went to Curry Sultan before they moved across the street to this smaller place a couple of years ago. It wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't as bad as this. I don't know if they changed ownership or what, but it was truly awful. First, others have reported that the waiter was wearing many hats, cook, taking orders, and running the front. I have no problem with that, whatever they need to do to keep it rolling. Today, the owner was on some sort of rant, complaining about customers stealing from him, yelling at the cook in the back in Spanish, etc. We were the only people in the place and it was embarrassing to hear someone being berated like that in full view and hearing of customers. Then, just before our meal was served (in Styrofoam with paper plates and plastic utensils for a $40 meal), the owner takes a call, goes flying out the door into his car and drives away. The cook, who speaks no English, brings the meal. The Tandori chicken was absolutely, bloody raw with some kind of tasteless sauce on it. The pakora was over salted and tasted like it had been cooked in old grease. The mint chutney was like water and the rice was mediocre at best. The meal was inedible, but as the only person now in the restaurant was the beaten down cook who spoke no English, there was no one to talk to about the problems. We took the chicken and rice home to finish cooking it ($40 after all), threw the pakora away, and left. I did leave a long note of complaint, which I doubt will make a difference. There is another Indian restaurant in the area, which will now get our business. I will never go to this one again! read more

I pass this restaurant every day I'm going to work and finally stopped in with my boyfriend and friend. They like it spicy and I am a wimp when it comes to spice. This place accommodates both palates unlike the curry house. Naan bread was better here too. I got the shrimp biryani and it was delicious. My boyfriend got aloo gobi and he ate every bite and my friend got the chicken tikka masala and it was amazing. I highly recommend this place for beginners like me who want to ease into a new cultures cuisine! Will definitely go here again. read more

This place had amazing customer service. Russell is a one of a kind owner. I ordered food for my family over the phone and he gave us a estimated time. I picked it up with no problem. I do believe this restaurant does not take cash so come prepared. when I got home the food was still hot. It was very delicious and had me scraping the containers for all the sauce. The BEST Chicken Tikki Masala I have EVER had. Every time I travel; I like to stop and try the local cuisine. I use CTM as my guide. Even coming in at 10 minutes before closing; the staff was very pleasant, the food was made fresh, and even taking it back to the house (90 minutes plus), it remained hot and good. Just the right amount of spice. The garlic naan was one of the best I've had too. Cooked perfectly with very little scorch marks. It was very soft and easy to pull apart to eat with the CTM. Price was excellent for the quality and quantity. Will DEFINITELY stop by again if traveling through. This place is a GEM just waiting to make it big. read more

I ordered pickup and was surprised by the cost versus the portion of items. Small portions for a high price. It is not a family friendly as in you cannot share this food with your family due to the small sizes. It was a lot of money for very little food. I have been wanting Indian food since March when I lost access to the downtown tunnels and my fave Indian spot. I had no idea there was an option here in Atascocita! I'm so glad I tried it. The flavor was amazing on everything I ordered (beef samosa, chicken vindaloo, naan, and chai). Food was hot, and pick up was fast and painless. My husband swears he doesn't like Indian food but when I got home and started unwrapping everything he had a sudden change of heart. He ate half of everything and actually loved it all. At first, I wasn't gonna do a review but I figured why not. Well, this place is a one-man shop. The owner is the cook, waiter, busboy, and host. Under pressure, some folks handle it quite well with a measurable tone. Not this one, he's quirky, he's funny, and always in a rush. He even told some guy that tried to call his order in that "he don't have time for that". This was while he was taking my order at the register. The owner treated everyone the same. So when he went up to one table and started recording them for their opinion on the food, every table got to experience that. He takes your phone number with every order so he can text you asking to complete a review on a different website. As for the food, the food was good. I ordered mines spicy, he tried to talk me down to a medium, that wasn't happening. I got the spicy vindaloo (curry) which was listed as his mother's recipe and it was good. It was very good. The food came out timely in to-go containers but he provided a plastic plate and utensils for dine-in preferences. As I go through the most recent reviews and read their concerns. I get it. This isn't what I expected either for a restaurant with soooo many good reviews. However, it's a small, family restaurant that survived the pandemic so don't come in with any expectations. I enjoyed the food but in the future I won't be dining-in. The owner was great, like I said he's a little quirky but a great conversationalist. There wasn't a topic he was afraid to touch. There are a lot of regulars who come to this restaurant which could explain why he's very.. ummmm.. I guess the best way to put it is blunt. Now, here are my issues with the place. The triple berry lassi was watery and not sweet. He told me tried to make it sweet by adding sugar and I didn't taste any sugar at all. The Paneer Naan had burnt residue at the bottom of it and wayyy less cheese than advertised. Worst experience ever! The place was disgusting! The food was horrible and incorrectly cooked and WAY OVERPRICED. Oh, and the was waitress didn't know the names of any items. We were the only customers there around 3:30pm on a Friday and yet the entire time we were there were old tables with used food plates, etc. on the tables all over. I ordered Malai Kofta but: the waitress couldn't even pronounce to confirm, she called it "malikali" though I attempted to correct her 4 times. Then she came and delivered the food, handing me a bowl of chicken biryani (rice) as Malai Kofta. The "dinner" portion of chicken biryani was $12 and was approximately 10 oz. The chicken was precooked chicken tenders (like the frozen kind one buys) added to a bowl of spiced rice. The rice was dry and crunchy. Lastly, our garlic naan was bottled garlic uncooked! Curry Sultan was sooo good! I ordered the Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan. (Owner recommended it) it was my first time ever eating Indian food and I am satisfied. I will definitely be back and send family and friends there. I was so eager to try, I forgot to take a picture of my meal. I'm not an expert at Indian food, but I do a lot of cooking and eating. I aim for one thing in a meal. Fresh ingredients and flavor worth eating. I don't have tolerance for low quality food. I'm happy to review my meal tonight. I will say that this was a very enjoyable meal. I went a little overboard on ordering but that's okay. I like to taste a little bit of everything. All of the dishes were tasty. I especially love that you can order some of the dishes vegan and that there were vegan options. It was my first time having the salad type dish on the appetizer menu. I had a unique combo of earthy and tangy. I couldn't eat by myself but I liked it. The masala papads was also nice and light and different texture and flavor. My favorite was the vegan curry. Sadly disappointed. We looked up Indian food with good reviews in our area and saw this restaurant. We were very excited to give it a try. Sadly the service was unprepared and confused about what was going on. After a very long wait we got our food which was clearly not made fresh or at least "scratchy." The naan and roti were burnt, the dish we asked spicy was not, the dish that we asked to be mild was spicy, and the butter chicken was basically sauce with a couple pieces of chicken.
