After reading the reviews here I finally feel brave enough to leave my own. I saw so many positive reviews so decided to try the butter chicken based on those, well I know that I'd never order that again much less return to this business. It was kind of bland all the way around for my taste. I don't get spicy, but it was just not memorable. I also got the samosas which were not flavorful even though they looked like they would be. I can give it another chance for the food and I usually would, except the owner made me feel so unsafe and uncomfortable while picking up my meal in the store. He felt the need to express how desperate he is for business (okay, maybe he just needed to let that out..) but then he went on to talk about how he's divorced, his teenage kids don't speak to him (I said well don't stop trying to have a good relationship with them) and he responded with Ehh, I want to get remarried and have more kids. This man is like 50, and it felt like he was testing the waters with me by mentioning all this. He also felt the need to brag about how he's running this all by himself and still goes to the gym everyday. I had my baby with me and he complimented her saying how beautiful she is and how she looks just like me. I responded how she looks just like my fiance, her daddy. After getting the food I hurried up to my car and got my baby in there safely while checking to see if he would be coming behind me or something. Once I get home, the food looks good and I was excited but let down by the taste. I was eating my meal when I get a text message from the owner (COMPLETE INVASION OF PRIVACY). He got my phone number bc I called my order in. He sends a long text about leaving a google review, how he works hard on the food and how he goes to the gym everyday and attached a link to a YouTube video of him working out (??? Wtf). I wish I had saved the messages but honestly it just made me even more concerned that he was texting me after already making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend the food, but I ABSOLUTELY would not recommend the establishment based on my interaction with the owner.

Food is great, and the service is amazing. I would definitely recommend it. I will be back!

Sorry but I couldn't give it more stars. I was really hoping to find a good Indian restaurant in Humble. Restaurant ambiance is not great. The food is far more of what I've been eating around Houston area. Chicken masala to butter chicken we asked for spicy and they are not even medium spicy. Indian food is well known for it's spiciness but this is nothing compare to it. To top it all, we got serve on plastic silverware and plates. Lol seriously, please don't use the COVID excuse for not having the regular plates. I've been to numerous restaurants during COVID time and they don't do that.

Their poor excuse for Tandoori Chicken. Tough, dry, and not worth eating.
    Mark R.

Easily the worst Indian food I've ever had. Very poor excuse for Tandoori chicken. Non-traditional and very dry grilled chicken breast slices. The picture says it all. Sadly, I ordered it with extra meat. The naan was very good. In addition to the food and service reviews you should take a minute to review the owner's condescending responses to poor reviews here.

A must for Indian food. Their butter chicken is flavorful. I love that sauce!! Their garlic naan is so soft and yummy. I highly recommend. A local secret in Humble. Come try it!

Came here on my way to just find some food saw Indian food had to try it. It by far the best Tiki Masala I ever had in my life. Everything is perfect and can be an issue because its too good I will be here often at the distress of my bank! Food is perfect, texture amazing, medium heat is tangy and flavorful. I highly recommend this place can't recommend it enough

From left to right, we ordered 1. Garlic Naan Bread 2. Matar Paneer 3. Paalak Paneer 4. Malai Kofta My ranking from best is 4, 2, 3

(This is my opinion though as every meal I tried was spicy) but non the less they were delicious. Wonderful and helpful staff and great portion sizes. Things to definitely try is first the mango lassi drink! Delicious!!! Don't knock until you've tried it! Then the burnt garlic fried rice with dynamite chicken or the chicken tikka masala also enjoyed the lamb masala. Their menu is a mixture of fusion and traditional Indian foods. The only thing I didn't enjoy that much was two of their deserts, the gulab jamun which is like donut holes soaked in sugar, it was overly sweet for me and then the gajar ka halwa which was like a sweet potato desert. Everything else was tasty and delicious and I truly had a great dinner.

It was a Friday evening, the day after Christmas 2025. We arrived here around 6:30pm and found parking fairly quickly. The restaurant at the time was not busy and we were seated almost immediately in the middle of the room. We spent about 10 minutes to decide on what to order and we opted to share family style. Our time here was about 1 hour or so, finally leaving around close to 8pm. It was definitely a nice place to be in, especially with Indian cuisine. The ambiance was nice and quiet. I guess we got the jackpot or avoided any dinner rush on a Friday night. We ended up ordering individually between us and added more food if needed. We ordered biryani, lamb korma, some spicy dumplings, tandoor chicken, which was nice and spicy, an order of veggie samosas, and of course, garlic naan to smooth things out. It was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. The staff here was very professional and dedicated to the food and cuisine that they serve every night. I did enjoy the restaurant's decor while we dined. The quality of the food and portions were adequate. You might want to do yourself a favor and come here, if you are in the Houston area and want to give tihs place a try. The overall experience here at The Monk's Indian Bistro was very good and quite a magical actually. It felt like a good place to go to when you are feeling Indian cuisine but don't want to drive around Houston looking for that sweet spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant itself is visually beautiful and they try to make it upscale while being a good place to have your next meal. I particularly enjoyed the lamb korma and the tandoor chicken. They had forgotten to make the tandoor chicken after the rest of the order had been delivered already. We ended up having the tandoor chicken at the end of the meal. Everything was amazing and full of good flavors. It was a meal that filled our bellies and definitely was awesome. Maybe my friend decided to celebrate Christmas with us a day later. Who knows. Only thing I do know is that this place is very good and you should try it out sometime, if you are in the Humble area of Houston, Texas. Give it a try and you won't regret it. The Monk's Indian Bistro is located at 9626 FM 1960 Bypass Rd W in Humble, Texas. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have plenty of parking here for anyone and everyone who wishes to go here to have their slice of Indian fare. It's not too far from the Houston (IAH) international airport. There is always Uber and Lyft at your disposal, if you need them on demand. For the most part though, it was a delicious meal that will captivate you and your senses, not to mention your taste buds and everything that you are. While I have yet to immerse myself in the biriyani's, I know for a fact that the curries are amazing and I do enjoy the basmati rice and the garlic naan. My absolute favorite would be the tandoor chicken. Might need to see if I can find a recipe for that. In the meantime though, The Monk's Indian Bistro here in Houston, Texas is legit and definitely one you'd want to come to while you're traveling through Texas. It was definitely delicious and hope it will be for you. My friends and I enjoyed it. The spices can be overwhelming but it was good and helpful. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

The momos was yummy and came with a great sauce. The tandoori chicken drumsticks with the sauce, YUM. I knew it was going to be great. The veggie samosas were also wonderful. The mint chutney is my preference over the tamarind, but both were good. Chicken mungfali- 10/10 but wish it were a little spicier. Chicken korma- spicier than I thought but delicious 10/10. The Nutella samosas were the only thing that was disappointing. They were way crunchier than we expected. The picture of them made it look softer and flakier than it was. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy.
