I started with the Mole Dream Mezcalita, and it was unlike anything I've had before. Sweet, savory, smoky and beautifully balanced without any one flavor overpowering the others. We shared the elote, which was outstanding on its own, but the house-made tortilla chips completely elevated it. It's such a simple detail, but those are the little things that distinguish a really good restaurant from a memorable one. My husband ordered the Seafood Cataplana and was blown away by both the presentation and depth of flavor. We've only eaten at one other restaurant that immediately came to mind as comparable--The Mission in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. The portions are huge and the prices aren't. The food is homemade so you won't find any bisquick mix or heat and serve here. My favs are the corned beef hash (ate it before I took pics), the sampler and the stuffed cinnamon roll! Nice big chunks of corned beef in the hash evened out with the potatoes...yum. As our server Rose put it "it don't look like Alpo." The stuffed cinnamon roll is big enough to share and the mixed berries on top of it are a great compliment to it. The sampler is biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs and your choice of hash browns or home fries or American fries. It's like a slice of heaven. They have the best biscuits and gravy around bar none. If your appetite isn't quite that big, no worries. They have a mini sampler! The staff is friendly and they are very accommodating. The place is always packed and the wait is well worth it. Usually my family enjoys eating at this restaurant. We have been going to the Curve for Mother's Day for the last 4 years. This year was the first time we set a reservation because we had other things planned in the day and did not want to risk the wait since it's a popular restaurant. Our reservation was not honored, much like most other families. There was a group who had a reservation for 9:30 and were still waiting as of 10:30. Our reservation was for 10 and we stood outside in the cold for 40 mins before we decided to leave. They could not give us a wait time estimate. They offered to bring us drinks outside but that seemed awkward as there is no place to sit. When I made the reservation on May 7th I asked for any time before 11am for 11 people. The lady picked the time of 10am. So I fail to understand why they kept us waiting as it was a time they chose to fit our party. Please know that this is usually a restaurant we like to eat at. Just don't waste your time with a reservation. We were not the only family disappointed by this. read more
