I heard Custard King and I thought that sounded like a pretty cool name so I had to stop here and check it out. I tried their Philly Cheesesteak with sauce and fries. It took about 10 minutes to come out but it was really good. It had a good amount of bell peppers and a nice zesty sauce. It was a little heavy on the salt but otherwise it was a great sandwich. My wife had a small vanilla custard cone dipped in butterscotch. It was way too sweet for me but she liked it a lot. There is some patio seating but it was full. This place looks like it stays pretty busy. This is a good choice for a meal when you're in the area.

Came back and got some lunch along with our custard. We got chicken strips with fries as well as a cup of chowder. It was all good in my opinion! Then a cup of vanilla custard with hot fudge and raspberries to finish it all off!

Love frozen custard. It had been so long since I've had it I forgot how good it is. I also went back for fish and chips and claim chowder. It was all very good. The claim chowder was thick and stuffed with claim. The fish was thinner slices then I'm use to but still very good. The custard was amazing. It's a walk up window with benches to sit at on the side. The tables were kept clean.

Not a bad spot to stop for a treat and a burger. The buns were nice and toasted and the cheese was melted and gooey. They were short staffed that day but still managed to keep a welcoming smile. It was busy and they are a walk up with some outdoor seating to the side.

We were told custard king was a must visit when we were in Astoria. The line was long but we decided to wait, but the line moves fast. We wanted to try the custard but went with their burger and fries, which were really good. They also get food out pretty fast considering how busy they are. Parking is a little tough but Astoria isn't usually too busy. The overall area is pretty nice we ate by the water so recommend taking the food to go even though they have seating available there.

We explored Astoria on a brisk fall day, but we didn't want to miss the opportunity to try some tasty custard. The custard king is located right across the street from Astoria's maritime museum. We went for the basic cones but they did not disappoint!

The Custard King has been an Astoria, OR fixture since 1951. Love that the original facade has been retained. Detoured and joined the line to order a vanilla custard with peanut butter drizzle. The Homie enjoyed its consistency and held up well on this sunny day (6/19/25). There's limited outdoor picnic table seating adjacent to the parking lot. Nostaglic and tasty frozen treat!

Love this family run place, well worth stopping if you want some great custard, clam chowder, burgers ect. I did not see many vegetarian or vegan options so this place is not for everybody. What they do have is delicious and the crew seems to be mostly family and do a good job with service and quality. Mostly walk up, to go and a few tables outside. So on a wet and rainy day it would be better to take back to room or home, no real inside seating.

Great food and frozen desserts. I recommend the custard with lemon curd and marionberry.

The service was friendly and our food came out relatively fast. The place was pretty busy when we got there but were able to find a seat. Very limited seating and all outdoors. The custard shake was to die for. My chicken was a little rubbery but the fries were perfect. I'd go again but I'd opt for a burger instead

We were able to slip I here right before closing time. Unfortunately for my nephew, they were out of chocolate, but he still enjoyed his vanilla bowl. They had homemade lemon curd, I had to try that on my vanilla bowl, it didn't disappoint. I would definitely come back here again!

Tell me that doesn't look fantastic!!!! The bum was really good too.

The food and service were excellent. The bacon cheeseburger was the best I've had in years. Fresh veggies and quality cheese. The bacon was fantastic. I got a chocolate malt which was also very good. The fries were hot and crispy. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

If your reading this... JUST STOP BY, LIKE RIGHT NOW! This foodie spot was ranked #1 when I was passing through Astoria, and I understand why... The food is BOMB! I had the PNW Burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had (coming from a socal girlie who loves in-n-out). The burger had tons of flavor, good portion size, came with sauce on the side & the fries were PERFECT! Crispy outside & soft inside.. The lady at the window was super friendly! I also heard their shakes are AMAZING, unfortunately I cannot have it due to my specific diet restrictions, but I trust what others have to say about this spot. I'll have to book another plane ticket soon so I can get my Custard King fix.

On a beautiful spring day, we were on a meandering drive back to Seattle from a Portland weekend…read more We decided to stop in Astoria for dinner and to enjoy the view. The Knot provided the perfect combination of both. The food was excellent! In particular, we absolutely loved the pickled rockfish, salmon chowder, salted chocolate caramel custard and house-made citrus NA ginger ale. We happily enjoyed our meal while watching ships, seals, birds and ocean life. The server told us about the ships and even a podcast report to learn more about passing vessel traffic. It simply made me want to return for a longer and slower visit! Maybe to sit by the fire pit out front while watching life go by. A bonus was a (free) EV hook up adjacent to the property.

We stopped by here for a few drinks and some bread while we were walking the boardwalk in Astoria…read more The drinks were well prepared, but took a very long time to be made. We got our bread and basically finished it before we got our drinks. The bartender was new and she was looking at physical recipes to make each of our drinks. Im glad we weren't in a hurry. The view is outstanding and you can sit outside in the nice weather which we had that day because the inside is very small. We even saw a sea lion swimming off the pier as we enjoyed our drinks. A little pricey for what you get but overall still good but not somewhere I would return to with all the other options in the area.
