This location lost power for 3 days so they didn't have any whopper patties or french fries but were willing to sub for my whopper that I had ordered via the app. I went for a bacon swiss spicy chicken burger with a drink. Went through drive thru today as I always do and the staff and service was fantastic. Usually I go to other drive thru places and they are not as friendly. My last several experiences at my local Burger King have been great. Correct order (check), ask if I need salt or pepper(check), dipping sauces (check),smile on there face(check). Of all the fast food burgers, I prefer Burger King's Whopper and up until prices went ridiculous, ate at BK regularly. In order to take advantage of some better pricing, I downloaded the app last year. The closest BK is in Astoria, 15 miles from my home so It's location is not convenient. Last week while in Astoria, I ordered a $3.00 Whopper special to take out on Whopper Wednesday at 12:11 PM. I arrived at the store 5 minutes later and discovered the lobby door was locked and the drive through line snaked around the lot. If I could have canceled I would have, however there are no refunds and so I got in back of that line. I received my order at 12:45! With this bad service, this was my last visit at this Burger King as no savings is worth receiving a cold and soggy sandwich and after over a 30-minute wait! Consider me disgusted. We enjoy our time here. This may be only few Burger King in the area. My kid is a fan for the Burger King. The place is clean. The line take order is short enough with not much of wait. Bathroom is clean too. This is my first time try their chicken fries. It come with 10 long pieces. The amount of meat is equal or bigger than chicken nuggets. The outside is coated with spice. I like the ideal. We also got the spicy chicken meal and the cheese burger meal combo. These come with drinks and fries. I like the crispy fries. It works for me with no guilt day. The drink station is big change since my last visit to Burger King. Now they have dispenser with many selection of soft drinks. On top of that, they has fresh brew ice tea. I worked in the food industry, a competitor of BK so I've been in this boat, we would get a huge rush. It was hard to bus tables and help everyone at the counter too. But when the rush was over, we hustled to the floor, swept, cleaned tables, emptied trash. I've been inside now for 25 minutes. Every single table on the floor is dirty. The floor is dirty. But the people at the counter are having a delightful conversation about this and that.... They weren't rude to us. The food was hot to order. Hubs sandwich bun was burned. We got one mix and match meal, one large classic fries, and redeemed an offer for $1 large fries for $16.59. We weren't planning on getting food from here as the place we wanted to go to was all booked up for the night and was skeptical that we'd get our food done correctly based on some old reviews. The staff were very communicative and were able to prepare my online order perfectly. However, they said that they were out of Diet Coke but would Coke Zero be ok. No problem. Today was the second time in a month we have bought burgers from Astoria BK. It appears to us they have changed the burger patty. Both times we ordered the Whopper meals and sadly the burgers were dried out, tough and very thin patties. I've always LOVED the flavor and moistness of the Whopper but I can't in all good conscience spend money on such a poor product again. Perhaps it's just the Astoria franchise? Perhaps the corporate office decided to change the patty for a cheaper one? I don't know. I do know the two Whoppers we got were poor quality and not worth eating and we both said simultaneously, this is the worst patty i've ever had. After a 30 minute wait in line I ended up with a double cheeseburger, medium fries, chicken sandwich and a large watered down Diet Coke I couldn't even drink. I am not normally a big patron of fast food places anymore, but I have noticed quite a few things that need to be commended at this particular Burger King location. Each time that I have been a customer, or have been in with a mate of mine, this location shines as far as professionalism and customer service are considered. Orders are always completed properly, including special requests. Prices are far superior to McDonald's. especially the Astoria McDonald's franchise, which nickels and dimes everything and rarely has special offers. See my review of what kind of pathetic establishment they run there and why I will never support their franchise. The Astoria BK night manager whose name evades me (tall, younger gentleman, longish brown hair, mustache), his crew, and a wonderful lady of retirement age that has just been so sweet on the morning shift are ALL top notch employees. Polite, efficient, not needing an UN translator to understand them or for them to understand you, professional, clean, not fussing with their texting on their phone while working, not smelling of marijuana.....all the way it should be. Hear that Astoria McDonald's???!! Keep it up Astoria Burger King. I know it can be a thankless job sometimes, but your skills will lead you to much greener pastures. read more

This is, for the most part, your typical Burger King. Food is actually better than others I've been to, but it's the customer service that ranks this location particularly above the rest. I was just now, one of those jerk customers who came through the drive-thru about a half hour before they closed and order fried food. I didn't even think about it. I work late, I was hungry, they were still open, so I whipped my truck toward their establishment. I ordered a fried Tendercrisp chicken sandwich and fries. I also asked for water vs soda (don't judge me, monkey). The girl on the speaker asked if I wanted a bottle, or a cup. I jumped at the chance for a cup of ice topped off with water; as their unnamed competitor in town says they cannot give me a cup of water with a value meal. (Seriously??) As I drove up to the window I noticed the hours posted and then felt like a royal jerk for ordering fried food so close to closing. I've worked food service, it sucks to clean fryers! The girl at the window was extremely polite, smiled, thanked me, and then informed me that it was going to take about 5 minutes for my sandwich to be done. I said not a problem and turned into a smartphone zombie for a few. Soon the cook came to the window, handed me my chow and again thanked me, told me to have a nice night, and smiled. It's rare to get polite and friendly customer service these days. Especially from, this is going to sound age-ist, young people. I would have expected a bit of snark, or unenthusiastic thanks due to the proximity of "close", but it was nonexistent with these two gems. Came here during the big Goonies celebration. We came in around 2pm so the lunch crowd had already come and gone. Unfortunately they left all the tables and garbages and floor dirty and nobody was cleaning up. I used to be a manager at a BK and I was a bit appalled coming in that late after the lunch crowd and no employee was out there cleaning by then. We sat outside so my dog could join us. Cannibal Gurl If I could give negative stars I would. We got to the counter and the vile manager decided that was the perfect time to completely berate an employee right at the counter. It was so bad it made my family and everyone in the lobby uncomfortable. We thought the poor employee was going to cry. It was so awful we left. We meet an employee that works there they said that did us a favor and that we don't want to eat there. The dishwashing system is broke, the roof is leaking some sort of liquid & sludge over the grill, one fryer can't turn on because it's covered in 5 years worth of sludge, one can't shut off due to the same reason and there is a leak in the roof so bad that one of the walls in the kitchen area is bulging like it's going to pop. Apparently the manager also appears to be consistent in the treatment of her employees. That is why there is a massive turn over rate and they're constantly hiring. The employee told us if you're going to be in an accident, it better be 4 hours before your shift or she will fire even if you have a note from the emergency room or a police report or you're hospitalized. Then she doesn't even have the balls to fire you. We were told she leaves your name on the schedule and then doesn't give the person any hours hoping they will just go away. Someone who is a former employee REALLY needs to report this place. If you have a heart and value not getting food poisoning or worse, you will not support the business practices of this particular Burger King. read more
