Staff not trained on allergies. That's incredibly dangerous as they have nut products. My husband is deathly allergic to nuts and I'm allergic to berries. When I told the staff that we have allergies, she said "What do you want us to do? Use another scoop?" OBVIOUSLY. That's what you're supposed to do! read more

After checking out another established nearby to find they were cash only and had store bought ice cream, we headed over here. We were very pleased with our decision. The staff was fast and friendly. They had 20+ flavors to choose from and it was hard to decide. I opted for banana pudding and the hubby got s'mores. Both flavors were outstanding. You could really tell it was all made in house and extra creamy. We will definitely be back to try more of their tempting flavors! read more

The short entitled guy in the front made me feel like I BELITTLED. I was with my Somalian wife and my three adopted children which he said "were too chubby for ice cream". She snickered under her breath "we don't serve chubby men or children". As a 600 pound man myself I KNOW when the TREAT IS RIGHT and this disregarded my ever knowing grandfather of food knowledge. My three kids did not enjoy the small scoops here, the single scoops need to be at least tripled. On top of all this, there was one twist, MY ICE CREAM MELTED. WTFF. The heavyset girl with dark curly hair was very rude. She acted like serving me and my boyfriend was a chore. It felt like we bought ice cream from a zombie. In stark contrast, the rest of the staff was very friendly to the people in front of us and the ice cream was delicious. I didn't get her name but i hope next time we go shes not on shift. read more

Really enjoyed this homemade ice cream. We got the marionberry cup. My sister got banana pudding and she really liked it. Staff was friendly, the place was clean and the ice cream was great! Holy crap is their ice cream good! They have a great range of flavors -- I'd say around 25 or so -- with everything from classics such as Rocky Road to more specialty flavors like Licorice and Banana Pudding. I tried the Marionberry, an Oregon delicacy, and the Banana Pudding. Both were outstanding! I expected the Banana Pudding to have a fake Banana flavor like others I had tried but to my delight it was real Banana flavor. The ice cream was so creamy! Our family of 5 stopped in for ice cream and were impressed with this sweet little ice cream shop. First off, it is clean and modern with great lighting and a minimalist feel. The gals worked were both efficient and friendly. They were helpful and we felt like valued customers. They have standard and not so standard flavors, and a nice selection. We appreciated being able to try samples. Portions were reasonable for the price we paid. All told, we would be happy to stop back in here next time we are in Seaside. read more

PLENTY OF FLAVORS Walked by and decided ice cream sounded good. There were a lot of flavors I wanted to try, and they were very helpful to allow me to do so. After a lot of samples I ended up going with the scoops of S'Mores and Butterfinger with a waffle cone on the side. I find it funny they sell store bought and homemade waffle cones. I think it comes from a strategy that makes you rationalize the cost of the cone. Nevertheless, the homemade cone tasted way better than a store bought one. Such a fun little ice cream shop! I really like that you can see where they make the cones, it's a fun experience for the kids! All the ice cream is homemade and super delicious! I personally had the chocolate peanut butter- it was OMG! So so good! Not to crazy sweet! They even have a fun sign you can take a photo in front of! I wish there was some seating inside, even a couple little tables. Only because most the shops won't let you take food in, and the weather can be very warm- makes for very fast melting ice cream! Overall- such a cute place and we will definitely visit again! read more

Stumbled on Zinger's after literally parking in front of it during a trip down to Cannon Beach. This is the kind of gem you want to find in a busy beach town where there are sweet shops on practically every block. The ice cream in made on-site at this cute, clean shop. There was a line on the week night we visited and one person taking orders, scooping and ringing up customers. She had it down though and we were served and eating creamy goodness in no time. The flavors are interesting but totally accessible. Think Banana Pudding, Birthday Cake, Rocky Road, Lemon Custard and Marionberry to name a few. We tried the Banana, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Coconut. All delicious! Totally recommend even if you are just driving through Seaside on the way to another town. read more

Lemon custard is the best!!! Have had a cup as well as a milkshake. IMHO cup is better. Homemade seaside treat. Always come here. Other flavors looking good are banana pudding, s'more, root beer float and roasted marshmallow. We were in seaside today and my wife saw someone walking around with a very good looking waffle cone. This was not any ordinary waffle cone, mind you. This specific vessel for ice cream was the perfect size - not too big and not too small. But most importantly, the cone itself was well constructed. It was clear, even from a distance, that this edible geometric wonder could hold a scoop of deliciousness while providing ample support. It would not drip out of the bottom and the top offered an appropriate sized crater for the cold treat: it did not sink down into the hole. We set out to find the shop from which this came, and found it in Zinger's. The shop itself was clean and nice and the staff were super friendly. They had a good variety of flavors too. We each got a different flavor and none of us were disappointed. Of course, the waffle cone was the star of the show. The wife and kids were happy, so I was happy. read more

Stopped by Zinger's on the walk back to our hotel for some pre-bed time ice cream. There's quite a few ice cream shops that try and entice you with the smell of their waffle cones along this street, but I highly recommend letting Zinger's be the one to drag you in! And yes, they have waffle cones. The shop itself is cute and clean. No seating inside provided during COVID-19, so just be prepared to grab & go. Flavors are mostly traditional with a few fun ones but nothing too wacky. I ended up going with the banana flavor and it was SO good. Tasted incredibly fresh and not like a super artificial banana flavor. Loved it. I went with a bowl because I hate how messy cones get, but my husband got a cone and thought it was delicious. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're on the hunt for a treat! read more

Located near the end of a strip mall on Broadway on the Southeast side of the river, this tiny cafe and bakery serves up love and smiles. We were traveling with our two adult children who are on the autism spectrum. Our oldest is gluten free and our youngest, well he identifies as a bull moose and can be about as easy to wrangle. There were plenty of gluten free options for our oldest. Our server Zoe rocking the Wonder Woman tank was a super hero! The owner quickly tuned in to our family being on team quirky and made us feel welcome and at home. Everyone was so friendly! The food? Exceptional! This was our third breakfast out on our trip and the Chalkboard Cafe took the blue ribbon and it was not even close! My youngest had the biscuits and gravy, with a couple of eggs and a sausage patty. He's a charter member of the clean plate club and met the challenge. It was a generous portion. Our oldest had a half order of the B&G and was tempted to have one of the hot from the oven gluten free mini Marion berry pies that the owner proudly paraded around the dining room. Steaming from the oven this Marion berry pie tasted like the best of an Oregon summer. I was glad he shared a couple of bites. It was such a delight that we took a pie home for later! My wife and I shared the traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, and topped with a thick piece of ham grounded with their perfect English muffin. The Hollandaise was rich and creamy providing a wonderful coat on top of the egg. Their red potatoes were seasoned just right and were a compliment to the eggs Benedict as they would compliment most any savory breakfast. In addition to the pie we took home a couple their chocolate krinkle cookies which were not gluten free. That's the bad news. The good news is that we did not have to share them! They were heavenly! We get to Seaside at least once or twice a year and the Chalkboard Cafe will be part of our regular dining rotation while visiting. Thanks for the love and excellence! Was really excited to see Zingers after the renovations, and they did a great job. The place looks great between the entry way wall with the Zingers Mural, and the GIANT "Eat Ice Cream" painted on the side wall (crazy cool, awesome photo-op walls). Ice cream was incredible! Super happy to see an orange flavor (one of my personal favorites) which was absolutely delicious. Great orange flavor that wasn't too overpowering, smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Just all around a great experience and loved the new atmosphere.
