Here's why I would recommend Mauricio: (1) Out of all the several quotes I received, Mauricio was the most professional and prepared. He asked the right questions and clearly knew his stuff. Incredibly, his quote was also the most reasonable. It was a no brainer going with him. (2) The quality of his craftsmanship and attention to detail are top notch. He takes his time and doesn't rush things, which is important (quality over quantity). We were thrilled by the final result. (3) Another important issue worth mentioning is Mauricio's broad experience. He is not just an ordinary carpenter, but he has experience with both plumbing and electrical as well. He managed to fix an issue with an overhead sprinkler system during the build that normally a specialist would be needed. But even more impressive was his knowledge and attention on electrical issues. The sauna required a new dedicated 240v outlet and breaker. I hired a certified electrician to do the job and thought it went well, but Mauricio took a quick look at the work and discovered a major safety issue with the electrician's work that could have damaged the sauna or even caused a fire. I never would have spotted this problem myself, and it really was incredible that a general contractor was able to recognize the error in the electricians breaker installation, and I was able to get the issue resolved. I cannot emphasize how thankful I am to have hired Mauricio. The electrical was a critical component of this project and it could have needed in disaster if not for him. On a Sunday evening, a huge clog backed up the drain for both of my 2nd Floor bathrooms and the water ran down into my 1st Floor ceiling. I got the water turned off and called the plumber and Kevin at Hamilton's Unlimited. Since I also have a Powder Room on the 1st Floor, I told them both it can wait until Monday morning. Early the next morning the plumber called to say they were running ahead of schedule and asked if they move me up. Of course, I told them yes. By the time the plumbers got here (early), Hamilton's Unlimited had already removed all of the wet ceiling, disinfected the framing, set up fans and a dehumidifier, and hauled away the debris. As a bonus, having the ceiling open like that helped the plumbers determine where the clog was which saved me even more time and money. That afternoon, after everyone had left, I was sure I'd be dealing with this for a week or more. However, over the next 48-hours, Hamilton's Unlimited kept in contact with me, even stopping by, to ensure that the drying process was progressing to their liking. Long story short he determined that my water damage was not extensive at all despite the flooding we had. Instead of recommending I demo my kitchen and basement floor, ceiling, walls to track down every little sign of water damage (which would have probably gave them a chance to easily bill $40k to my insurance), he reassured me that because it was clean water that had flooded and because there was no sign of any major water damage to my home, I was good to go for this one time incident. He set up heavy duty dehumidifiers to dry out my basement and that was it. What I most appreciated is that he took the time to explain his observations and why he did what he did so that I was completely comfortable and understood what was going on in my home. He worked with me to only charge me for the labor incurred and dehumidifiers so I didn't have to go through insurance or even pay as much as my deductible.
