When we first saw his portfolio, we were like "Yes this is the photographer that we would want." They are both extremely personable and so easy to work with. We met with him initially to see if he was a good fit for us - vibes, editing, price, what we get from his packages, etc. Everything had checked the boxes. Leading up to the wedding day, we had a couple of more meetings with him to confirm everything. We asked for recommendations for photo spots post wedding and Danny provided a few locations that fit into our itinerary. On the day of, Danny and Julia were prompt. Jeff's incredible pictures speak for themselves, so I'll do my best to cover what it was like working with Jeff below: Initial Meeting * Jeff was easy to coordinate with and responded very promptly to all emails setting up a meeting * He brought his portfolio, walked us through his packages, and helped us create a package that was exactly what we wanted * He was funny, nice, and someone we immediately clicked with. My sister's piece of wedding advice to me was to pick a photographer and videographer you will enjoy spending the day with, because much of your wedding day is actually spent with these vendors! Engagement Photos * Jeff pre-scouted the area that we wanted to do our engagement photos at, so he knew exactly where we should stand to get the best lighting and angles. Because of this, we saved so much time and were able to get in more locations. * Jeff was thoughtful, creative, and encouraging through the entire process. While we might have been awkward in the first few shots, Jeff quickly put us at ease. * The pictures turned out amazing. We even used one of them for our cake topper! He was also very attentive to small details and showed great foresight in helping us hash out details for the wedding far in advance, making sure our timelines and plans were realistic. But Jeff is far from just being an effective paper-pusher. Eunice and I have never done a photo shoot in our lives, but he was able to make us feel comfortable and really draw out our silly personalities through the shoots. We've had friends complain that their photographers just churned out portrait after portrait without any variation, but we were blown away by the creative poses and angles Jeff had set up for us. Lastly, I wanted to point out Jeff's willingness to go the extra mile for you. We had our wedding reception at the Lawrence Hall of Science, where they were featuring exhibits of giant robotic bugs. Due to some extenuating circumstances, we were running fairly late in our schedule, and decided to abandon several of our shots, including many of the exhibit photos. As the night was winding down, Jeff pulled us aside for some last minute photos; he had talked to the Lawrence Hall coordinator to reactivate the lights and exhibits just to help us take one last set of memorable shots with the bugs. When we met the group at The Great Bridal Expo, we were impressed with their portfolio and with how many people were gathered around their booth. We mentioned where our wedding was, and Van grabbed one of their albums to show us exactly what we could look forward to since they had worked a wedding at our venue in the past. He quickly gained my trust with his knowledge of the area. Shortly after attending the Bridal Fair, I contacted Michael's Wedding Group to ask some more questions. Sue responded to my email within hours of sending it! She really is great at communicating with their clients. Although I do love to look at beautiful engagement photos, I didn't want our session to be by that one tree at that one park. I imagined something different and more fun. We originally chose to have our engagement session at The Color Factory, but we weren't able to get tickets to any of the slots. We did, however, manage to snag some tickets for the first week that The Museum of Ice Cream opened in San Francisco. Sue was very patient as we tried to coordinate all of our schedules while we tried to get the super coveted tickets to MOIC. Michael met us at the Museum of Ice Cream and we had the best engagement session I could imagine! It resulted in a lot of awesome pictures, delicious treats, and we felt really comfortable while having our pictures taken at a public place with lots of people watching. Van and Israel were our photographers on our wedding day. I sent them an extensive list of must-have photos before our big day, and they were able to capture everything and more! Van was very efficient and has a great eye. Israel was our second photographer and helped make sure the lighting was just right. My entire bridal party was comfortable with them as they captured special moments throughout the day. Something I really appreciate when it comes to vendors is how real they are.
