We found Daniel here on Yelp and we went with him over the other photographers because he was easy to get in touch with, nice in person, and we likes his portfolio. When we met him we saw him for the nice and fun guy that he is. It was important for us to feel like we're dealing with a person instead of a stiff robot (if that makes sense). On the wedding day, he was awesome! He directed us very well and even took some specific shots for us. He even put up with all the family and friend pictures after the ceremony haha! We had some issues of losing light (winter marriage) and he decided to take some more pictures at the church before we headed off to the reception area and this turned out to be a GREATA decision since it was very dark soon. Had we waited, those ceremony pictures would have been dark. He had worked at our venue before, so he knew his way around the place and did his thing. I focused on enjoying the moment and making sure my new bride was happy, and Daniel took care of the awesome pictures. We got back all the pictures within a month and my wife went back and forth with him over email to pick some photos to touch up and to re-edit. We mentioned where our wedding was, and Van grabbed one of their albums to show us exactly what we could look forward to since they had worked a wedding at our venue in the past. He quickly gained my trust with his knowledge of the area. Shortly after attending the Bridal Fair, I contacted Michael's Wedding Group to ask some more questions. Sue responded to my email within hours of sending it! She really is great at communicating with their clients. Although I do love to look at beautiful engagement photos, I didn't want our session to be by that one tree at that one park. I imagined something different and more fun. We originally chose to have our engagement session at The Color Factory, but we weren't able to get tickets to any of the slots. We did, however, manage to snag some tickets for the first week that The Museum of Ice Cream opened in San Francisco. Sue was very patient as we tried to coordinate all of our schedules while we tried to get the super coveted tickets to MOIC. Michael met us at the Museum of Ice Cream and we had the best engagement session I could imagine! We took our engagement photos a couple months after hiring them and Michael and Sean was our photographer for the shoot. The pictures came out beautifully and we knew that our wedding day was going to be better. Our wedding day consisted of Van and Sean as our main photographers. They were with us the whole time from the early morning to the tea ceremony, the actual ceremony and at the reception. Van was too cool! We was speaking Vietnamese to my family since some of the older folks didn't understand English well. He knew the etiquette of the culture and executed it really well. I just had my wedding at Guglielmo Winery this last weekend in June2013. Its always awkward for a bride to have a vendor who she hasnt met yet be such a big part of her special day. I finally got to meet Scott at a Bridal event at the winery just a couple months before my wedding and he was the sweetest guy i had ever met. He was very understanding of the fact that my parents were divorced and might not want to be photographed together and was mindful not to put them close to each other. He told me not to worry about anything and that he would make sure i had the best pictures for my wedding. On the day of the wedding, I was so relieved that Scott was there to do some crowd control. He never once yelled at anyone and was very polite to all my family and friends in attendance. He told me we can do as many poses as we wanted to "because we can". By the end of the night he handed me 2 DVDs with all the photos that he and his 2nd photographer had taken (almost 1600 photos total). My husband and I were elated to see our photos on our wedding night and uploaded them immediately in our hotel room to share with our friends and family members that same evening. The reason i am giving 5 stars is because my husband and I found out some bad news 1 month prior to our wedding which put us in a financial bind. The 2nd photographer was an extra $500 and Scott worked with us on a payment plan so that we can still get the perks of 2 photographers and still make it affordable enough that it did not break the bank. He takes Paypal and was willing to give us some time and was not pushy like some vendors could be. All in all our photos were AMAZING and the quality was EXCELLENT! She gave me Aaron's number and I called him the same day. He actually texted me back late that day, and all our communication was done entirely via text. His prices were reasonable, and he happen to have a openning fairly soon. We met in a park in Mountain View, he gave me a couple locations in a the south bay to pick from. My photo shoot included a two year old so I didn't know what I was in store for. He was on time and ready to go. It was a quick shoot, about 30 minutes and he got over 150 shots. What I LOVED about working with Aaron, was a) it was informal and not all difficult like a lot of photographers try to make it b) he was quick to reply to my texts and I didn't have to chase him down c) my biggest reason for the 5 stars, he let me download all the photos without a trademark. He edited 5 which came out great- but there were so many more I loved. Not too many photographers will let you have their entire shoot available for download. I hate when they let you keep a few, even though there are tons that you fall in love with. So overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I've already let him know I'll be calling him again next year for our holiday shoot!

There's something ethereal about his work that I really loved. If you can catch him when he's not on assignment in more exotic locales, lucky you. He arrives right on time, and immediately goes to work, finding light like a hyper-charged sunflower, and somehow with the barest of equipment--camera, portable umbrella thingy, and his keen vision, he keeps the shutter flying and you end up with a whole portofolio of...you but better. He's done my family shots (including a shot of squirmy seven, eight and nine year olds), and several headshots for publications in which I asked him for something "moody, edgy, Pacific Northwest but with a ray of hope" vibe. Yep, he delivered.
