Uri did my rental floors 7 years ago in my 95 year old building when someone really botched the job and promised to cover the pee stains in the entry way that some dog had caused years previous to me owning. Once Uri got a look, he suggested I draw mahogany stain, sanding and getting out and then 2 coats of polyurethane and did the whole 1100 feet for a very very reasonable price. But the results were so smashing, that when the tenant moved out, I just used the BONA polish Uri suggested ( and my tenant had used for 7 years) and I did not need to redo the floors this time. All the applicants fell in love with the floors all over again as what they did then lasted so well. I am so grateful. read more

Had to move to Los Angeles from San Fernando Valley ASAP and the wood floors in the house we just bought needed to be refinished and repaired. Also, we needed to install hardwood flooring in the dinning room and hallways. They sanded, stained and refinished my existing hardwood floors and also did the installation of the floors very efficiently. we were able to move in on schedule and the floor looks great. Customer service was great and the contractor was always there to supervise the job. Uri was really great. First I had to cancel three times because they kept pushing back the close of my escrow. I was pulling my hair out. He was really patient and worked within my schedule. He redid the floors and they were so beautiful. He also had to tear out some of the beams and replace them, they matched perfectly, the floor looked spectacular. When he came by to inspect everything he noticed that I had purchased a new overhead microwave and installed it for me! I swear to God. He was so nice. Just had about 900 sq ft of bamboo floors refinished (sanded and stained) by these guys, and I can't recommend them enough. Uri and his team were very courteous and professional. The pricing was very competitive with other estimates I that received. The refinished floors look perfect; they're glass-like smoothness and uniformity. Unlike other refinishing teams I've worked with they didn't damage (scuff or stain) any of the walls or trim, they even worked around some stonework in the floor without damaging it (no small feat). They did such a great job containing and cleaning up the dust that I honestly haven't found a spec of wood dust anywhere. I will definitely work with them again and highly recommend them for anyone seeking to have work done on wood floors. read more

I had a bad experience with CHF. They came out to my condo to bid on refinishing my engineered hardwood floors. Their estimate was $2000 more than another bid I had received, but they seemed very professional and detail oriented so I picked them to refinish my floors. I waited 3 weeks for them to put me on the schedule. On the day they were supposed to start work, Uri called me and said he was not sure he could do the job because the oak veneer was too thin. I said please I've waited a long time for you to do this job and I need to get this condo on the market for sale. It doesn't have to be perfect just do as good as you can. He said I'll see if I can do a polish or something, I said Ok thank you. I never heard from Uri or CHF again. I'm glad they deserted me because I called the other bidder, Prime Hardwood Floors and he said yes the floors are thin but I can make them look much better, I said YES PLEASE. The floors now look great a couple spots went through to the ply layer, but you have to look hard to see it. Prime Hardwood is experienced and they give the customer what they want. I saved $2000. Since I just recently started posting reviews, this review will be almost a year late. Although it's been almost a year now, I still remember the excellent service provided by Uri. Uri was professional and one of the nicest people you'll meet. This project was for our then 'recently' purchased house. The work included refinishing existing hardwood floors (bedrooms, hallway, and living room) and installing new ones (kitchen and family room). I wanted the newly added floors to be seamless with the existing ones. I had quotes from other contractors to do the job and one even kept giving me disclosures that he may not be able to match the wood. That's something you don't want to hear from your contractor before the work even begins. Uri on the other hand appeared knowledgeable and confident during the estimate visit. I showed him a laminate sample on what I wanted to install in the Kitchen and Family Room and asked him for his professional advice. I followed his advice of going real wood flooring. He was able to find me the materials at a slightly higher cost than the 'thin" laminate I was thinking of putting. I have no regrets because the extra cost was nothing compared to what we've put those floors through!! In addition, because the family room had a slightly different level than the connecting living room, he had to put in extra work for a bullnose transition. I think if I recalled correctly, he only had 2 weeks before our move-in date and on top of that, he had to work around my other contractor's schedule who was doing demo/upgrade work. Uri and his crew were able to pull it off and we were able to move in on time!!! I've referred their services to my mom who referred their services to her friends and we're all pleased with the work. read more

We could not be happier with the work Uri and his crew (Bernardo and Max) did for us. We have a Spanish style home built in 1929 that had deteriorating wall-to-wall yellow shag carpeting installed 55 years ago. We had several bids to pull up that carpet and refinish the hardwood floors, and we chose CHF because of the very fair bid and because I immediately trusted Uri and knew he understood our needs. Underneath that awful carpet was beautiful original white oak hardwood floors, with some staining that needed sanding, as well as a small area of damaged wood that needed replacing. My biggest quandary was choosing the color for the stain. CHF listened to what we were looking for, gave informed information, and I was then easily able to choose the perfect stain color for our house. The work done has transformed the look and feel of our home. The floors are absolutely beautiful now ... we could not be happier. CHF went above and beyond in working with us to begin and complete this work in a required tight timeline for us, always with professionalism and kindness.
