We are completely happy with our refinished wood floors that are 87 years old and look new and modern. We were thinking about covering with luxury vinyl because we didn't think they could be sanded again, but Paul recommended refinishing. Paul and his crew did a great job. Throughout the process, Paul responded to calls and texts promptly and kept the project moving smoothly. We decided to do project in two stages so we could stay in the house while the work was being done. He accommodated our scheduling needs and made sure each of the two stages were completed as quickly as possible when we were ready. I can't recommend Paul more highly. He's an artist, good businessman, and a kind person. He has also hired excellent people; they do great work and they were very considerate while working. The work was much less disruptive than we thought it would be. They attended to issues we raised, but mostly they worked to their own high standards, including having a colorist come in and fix spots where old wood color was bleeding through and was not matching. Further, on the last day, one crew member stayed and redid the threshold between the bedroom and bathroom. We didn't see what was wrong with the first one, but he wasn't happy with it. We hired Paul to help completely redo the hardwood flooring in our new house, and we could not be happier with the experience or the finished result. Our floors were completely uneven, and we knew it was going to be a complicated job that required someone with real know-how. Paul is one of those rare people who do quality work and are passionate about their craft. He isn't satisfied until the work is perfect, which translates to a happy customer. His price reflects the quality you get. He will do the work one time and will never have to come back. We did engineered hardwood on our stairs and loft upstairs in our two floor apartment. He spent the time to level our flooring upstairs. He glued and nailed the planks down. No floating. This guarantees no squeaking and no movement for a very long time. For our stairs, Paul even custom made noses for our flooring and insisted on putting returns so we wouldn't see the rough edge on the stairs. Our space had some complications that Paul solved no problem. One, we had banana shutters that would hit the flooring after it was installed. He shaved the bottom of the shutters, so it would be able to swing freely after the floor is installed. They look great for being over 60 years old and the wood floors are easy to clean. The Paul and his crew were very professional with communicating the steps of the job from start to finish in detail, setting up the rooms/floors with plastic around doors, vents, etc. and cleaned up after themselves (lots of dust due to the sanding). They had to replace a dozen short planks and we can't tell where they are now. They did extra layer of sealer at no extra charge. They also will come out to do touch ups if needed. Paul is responsive, addressed all of my concerns in a timely and professional manner, and finished the project on time and within budget. I just purchased a home with 100 year old white oak flooring that was stained dark with a glossy finish. I wanted to refinish the original floor, rather than throw away and replace with new. The original hardwood had history and character. Given the age and condition of the original flooring and condition of the subfloor, refinishing the floor was a delicate and tedious process, but Paul and his team were able to do it and they have given it new life. In the primary bedroom, after removing the carpet, we were surprised to see original oak flooring, but it was it horrific shape, with various portions heavily damaged and other portions replaced with plywood . Paul repaired the subfloor and restored all of the hardwood flooring back to its original glory. The hardwood flooring throughout the home now looks incredible, and we are so happy with the results. Paul cares about his work, and he is personally involved. His team works diligently and they clean up well everyday.
