Those screws he put in were the worst...OUCH! They were popping out of the side of my leg as I walked. Hurt like hell and I used my walker for days... Ridiculous!! I went for a 2 week follow up. and I when I go to Check in , , I mentioned that I had a Cardiology appt. next store in an hour and the lady at the counter at Swift was just awful. She was loud, and had personal stuff on the phone and was loud about it, soo tacky.. Soo unprofessional.,this offense is sooo disorganized.. After I waited an hour and me telling them I had to leave, I went to the desk 10 mins before my next appt. She said that I HAD NEVER BEEN CHECKED IN AT ALL! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? At that same exact moment, I got a call asking me why I was not at my appt., and I missed it, I said, dude, I am in the lobby for the last hour, I did not miss it, your girl forgot to sign me in.. They got me back for a fast beat, then I left the my appt., and was back in an hour, then they saw me.. they felt bad, but still... I went back for my appt., and Dr. Lilyquist had some interns with him we talked about my hip and I asked him, that i felt like I was shorter on my left side. He just brushed it off.... anyways , after that appt., I went back to Great Basin Orthopedics (GBO), where my Dr. said I was way shorter, and sent me to the Hangar Clinic where they made me a left shoe 1" higher as I was 1" shorter on the left side, I AM ALREADY short enough, and that made me feel so disabled, not cool at all, I cried.. Dr. Lilyquist called me after he dare one review and I told him all of this, he just said sometimes that happens. WHATEVER! Glad I am back at GBO! I got a new hip in April and Dr. Winkel from GBO fixed the height issue on the left.... YAY!

I was referred to Doctor Malcarney by a physician I know (and trust), so I set up the appointment…read more MRI was ordered, and the PA (Shawna Fearnley, who is very professional), filled me in on what tendons were no longer attached to my Humerus, and what needed to be done reconnect them (surgery)! Following this meeting, I must have come across three other physicians who all recommended Malcarney, one operating room RN who highly recommended Malcarney, and a bunch of other people at our Health Club (Should be called a recovery club) who gave high praise to Malcarney for her work on them! So I had the surgery (can't say that it was great since I was out cold when she was operating on me), but I can say that Malcarney and all of her team members were outstanding in their communications, their follow-up, their bedside manner, their subdued yet appreciated sense of humor, and their positive attitudes! It was as good of an experience as one can hope for, and the rest is up to the PT and my ability to follow his instructions... In closing, I have to say that I appreciate Malcarney's approach and how she and the PA explained it all. I highly recommend her, as do apparently countless other former patients in and around the Reno Area...I think that speaks volumes! You can't go wrong by going with Malcarney to perform the surgery...you can only go wrong by screwing up your shoulder (like I did)...Just glad that Doctor Malcarney was there to repair it all!

Last July 2025 I fell down my stairs and broke my left hip, I had to go to the emergency room and a doctor over at Swift Institute was on the Emergency side of it, and replaced my hip with a few screws. Well, the screws were coming out as I walked, so I saw Dr. Winkle back at great basin, and he said you're gonna have to have your hip totally replaced, as the screws are poking out.! I ended up in the hospital a few days after surgery with a stomach problem, and he actually came by to see me, and it had nothing to do with my hip, he just wanted to make sure I was OK! Absolutely incredible Dr, I highly recommend him and any doctor at Great Basin Orthopedics! The best! I needed a nausea medicine, and unbeknownst to Dr. Winkle the medicine he gave me for nausea also helped the stomach problem I was having so I could eat again, no other doctor has ever prescribed that medicine for me and I get these stomach issues a lot, we were really impressed! Thanks Dr Winkel!! I cannot believe how well I am doing, love my new life!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this facility…read more For example, my assigned tech was able to determine my treatment regimen by paying attention and listening to what I was experiencing with my injury. That attention to detail was not lost on me. The facility itself is very clean and well maintained. What I especially appreciated was that there are private rooms where the therapy is applied. I've been in one other facility that had uncomfortable, crowded open bays. Additionally, there are enough techs to provide a much more personalized and focused treatment. In contrast, the staffing at the other facility mentioned previously was under resourced and over committed. Highly recommended

It would be helpful if there was an online link so patient could fill out in advance of their first appointment. Prominence Medicare required a $40 copay for the initial evaluation ($10/PT) and pre approved 16 visits. I had to suspend PT due to lower back pain and Dr requiring lumbar injections prior to an ablation therapy appointment and requested 6 weeks after ablation before resuming PT. Premiere closed my file until I could begin core strengthening PT in the future.

I was told they had no appointments, but they'd leave a message for my doctor, who would get back to me. Fast forward to 2 PM. I get a call from my primary care physicians office telling me I should go to an emergency room because they believe I have meningitis‼ In a panic, I head to the ER on McCarren of Northern Nevada Medical. Thankfully, the competent staff, based on the questions I answered and an examination, diagnosed me with a viral infection. No meningitis! They dosed me with a Tylenol-Advil combination and a lidocaine patch, then sent me home with prescriptions for nausea and extra lidocaine patches. I felt guilty for taking up the time of staff and resources for an issue that could've been handled in a timely manner in my primary care physician's office, had that office not been overbooked. And I won't even go into the five hours it took from my original phone call and message of my concerns, to the phone call I received advising me to go to an ER. This all too frequent "adventure"points to the sad state of medical care in this country, with emergency rooms becoming your primary care physician.
