What's frustrating is that after the delay, they suddenly were able to email the prescription anyway. As I walked in, I was greeted by Cesar and asked how my day was going not "how can I help you", which I thought was really cool. Cesar was able to help me with my online return, and even gave me a little history lesson on the sunglasses. He let me know they were a reimagined pair of the very 1st Oakley sunglasses ever made. The very 1st model from Oakley. After I knew this, I was sad that they didn't fit as Cesar said gave me great insight to some limited edition legacy sunglasses made by Oakley. One of the best VSP providers around…read more I really enjoyed our experience with Aloha Family Optometry. Everyone was very kind, patient and welcoming. They handled my youngest child with a lot of patience and care and didn't even make us feel bad about it. They have a wide range of frames - they also had my preferred brand (ray ban). They also had a lot of nice options around lenses. I have super sensitive eyes and my prescription is thick. It was nice that I could get high index anti-glare lenses with protective anti-blue light coating. This is the bare minimum I need otherwise I can't drive at night. They also offer transitions on-top of that too, which was also cool. One of the best VSP supported options out there. The doctors were super nice and very thorough in the examination. To ensure that I'm providing an honest review, I do have to say that they offer you a lot of upsells around various types of tests. For me, I didn't mind it, because I have bad eyes and I want to make sure they are in good health. I usually opt-in for these additional services anyways (like retina imaging, et..). If you don't want these services, you can decline. I understand why they do it. It's partly to be helpful, but also, as a small practice, they are unable to process as many patients as large chains and are not able to spread their costs across a wider variety of locations and options. Therefore, they try to maximize revenue per patient to keep their practice running. Personally, I don't mind that and get it - and I like supporting small local businesses if I can. They are also not forceful or abrasive about it, which I appreciate. That would have been a turnoff for sure, but they are very nice about it. Finally, if you get your frames and lenses from here, they are under a 1 year warranty that's included in the price. So you can use your glasses worry free. For me, because glasses are so important in my daily life, I'm always worried about messing up new glasses so this helps a lot in giving me peace of mind to just use them! He was so nice and so welcoming. Dr. Bonilla was super nice super knowledgeable and she really took her time with me. My left eye was giving a little bit of a problem when it comes to the prescription so she really made sure that we were able to find the right prescription strength. They were running a little behind because I guess they were having computer problems, but they were super apologetic about it and I did not mind waiting at all because I had nothing else on my schedule for the day. Danny even offered me water or Gatorade with ice, which I gladly accepted. Jesus was super nice and knowledgeable when helping me order my contacts and glasses make sure I was able to find the right deals and make sure that I use my insurance too. It's full of potential so I really appreciate him for doing that. The store itself is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The store is nice and clean and air-conditioned. Like I mentioned before the music they were playing was amazing like it took everything in me not to sing out loud to all of them the songs. Very difficult to find an opto store that can do soldering repairs. I called at 2:30 on a Friday and inquired with a gentleman, said they were open until 6, yes took walk-ins. We drove there, took an hour in peak traffic but so worth it. Worked on the glasses that same day, they did a great job.
