I've been going to Polish & Pour for about 4 years now, and it's still my favorite nail spot in the city. The service is consistently great -- friendly, professional, and attentive every single time. They do a wonderful job with both manicures and pedicures, and the atmosphere feels chic but also really comfortable. I stopped in for my gels to be removed. They told me a certain price and then at the end it ended up being more than was told. The technician burned my nails and skin several times. My nails are still hurting from this weeks later. They used the grinder the entire time which made them uneven. I would recommend they grind some then soak and scrape so the next person doesn't have to go through the pain of what I went through. read more

Polish and Pour has severely gone down the hill. I came here when I first moved to Chicago a little less than a year ago and have come for both dip polish and gel pedicures. The concept seemed fun as you can BYOB if you want to enjoy a nail spa day. While first they seemed to do a decent job, the past few times haven't been the best experiences (not fully satisfied with how my nails or toes turned out) with my most recent experience being why I will never return. I received a gel pedicure and it seemed as if the nail tech was a new tech. The paint job looked worse than what I could have done myself, not even close to salon quality. When I let the lady at the desk know she asked me to come back the next day for the to re do it and charged me for my service. Coming in the next day the nail tech seemed irate to be fixing my toes audibly upset that she doesn't have time and can't do this within 30 min. She was rough and quick with my toes but the finished product did look way better than my previous pedicure. She kept telling the host lady to call her client to come in 15 min late, reminding me that I'm an inconvenience in her schedule. I shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable as a customer to come back to have a poor job fixed. Getting fully charged $60 for a pedicure that was not worth the amount and also taking time out of two days was not an ideal experience. I definitely will not be returning or recommending to any of my friends or colleagues. read more

The atmosphere of this nail salon is super welcoming and inviting. Very clean and calming. I got a paraffin pedicure and the hot wax felt amazing on my feet that took too many steps as a nurse this week. The hot towels and letting time for everything to soak in was needed. The nail technician made sure to cover every part of the nail and cleaned up edges with remover. The massage chair had all of the good kneading settings without making me move too much in the chair. I recently got a mani pedi here. For my mani, I got dip nails with 5 extensions which was $80+ -- this is way more than I usually pay at other nail salons for the same service. Given the high price, I figured that it would be high quality work, but my nails started cracking the day I got them done. Two days later, two of my nails completely broke, leaving painful, bleeding cracked nails. See the picture below--the pointer finger was so bad I actually had to wear a bandaid. The pedi was fine, but the paint has already started to chip after two days. I definitely won't be returning. Compared to the other salons in Chicago, this place is outrageously expensive, especially given the poor quality of work. read more

I am a very active male who has never gotten a pedicure before and I went with my wife and to get the callous therapy pedicure (more expensive than basic one) which my feet badly needed. When booking the pedicure the appointment said online it would last an hour and my wife even paid for a better pedicure so hers would last almost as long as mine. My pedicure was done after 25 minutes (some of which was spent cleaning up water that had spilled onto my shoes and soaked my socks which didn't actually bother me, it happens). Part of the way through the individual giving my pedicure seemed to be reminded by the manager that I was receiving the callous therapy pedicure which I had told the individual twice. I got some stuff put on my callouses but they didn't try to file them down much at all, I was surprised. My wife seemed to think I didn't get what I was supposed to get. read more

I have been going to Polish and Pour for 3 years now and I cannot recommend it enough! They have reasonable pricing and packages, a sweet and attentive staff, and clean environment to adhere to CDC protocols. I recently started doing acrylic gel instead of no-chip with Kim Voo. Kim is very talented and artistic. I have only gotten 2 manicures from her, but she has set the bar so high on how I want to maintain my nails. I will be requesting her for as long as she works at Polish and Pour! Yesterday she did a beautiful black and white matte finish for me and I am obsessed with the result. Stopped in for a no chip manicure with Min. She was fantastic! I've gone to a number of nail salons for no chip, and her service was on par. She's been in the business for over 6 years and you can tell given her extreme efficiency, along with visible OCD with cleanliness. Love it! She spent time providing color recommendations and was very personable. Good with social cues and awareness on timing. I will definitely ask for Min next time I stop in. read more

Been here a few times already and my no chip manis have lasted 2 weeks making me a happy camper. Booking an appointment is best during peak times (weekdays after 5 and weekends). Unfortunately, I waited 20 minutes past my 5:30pm appt on a Tuesday evening (which I arrived 10 minutes early to) before my express pedi was started. Only downfall was how un-moisturized my feet looked upon completion of my express pedi (pictured). Not sure if their water is hard or if it's the type of soap in the pedi bowl or what but it sure dried my skin OUT, honey. I noticed the same thing after my classic pedi (not pictured) a couple of weeks ago. Side note: express pedis don't require a soak but I asked for one not knowing what an express pedi fully entailed but now I know; FYI it's just a polish change along with cutting/filing and buffing. Overall, each experience has been pleasant and they pay close attention to detail. read more

Not a single employee came over to do my nails or let me know when they would start. I've never had such a terrible experience a nail salon.
