If there were more stars, I would give them! All I needed today was to have 2 pair of hair cutting scissors sharpened so we're not talking big sale here. I was treated with the utmost courtesy and kindness plus he did a stellar job and explained to me that the scissors were very old so the wiggle in them could not be fixed...understand. This guy is great. I dropped off a knife that needed sharpening and he sharpened and repaired it (which I did not even ask for) within 30 minutes while my fiancee bought makeup. My tab came to $5. I will definitely go back for all of my knife-maintenance needs. read more

Wonderful little knife shop in Willow Bend Mall. Owner is extremely nice and knowlegeable. Great prices on knife sharpening. We are amateur cooks/chefs and take our collection of knives there at least twice a year to have them sharpened. read more

I visited this shop for the first time with two Japanese knives to be sharpened. Outstanding job at a reasonable price. Talked with both owners who were pleasant and informative. Experienced owner won't ruin your expensive knife. One of my knives needed to be retipped and it's perfect. read more

There are other places to go besides here. Yes, he did good work in sharpening my knives but WOW... Karl has no customer service skills at all. I am surprised that he has any repeat customers as it is the way that he talk at customers and doesn't listen to his customer or even starts screaming at people. He seems to have a swelled head, thinks he knows it all, and like a little kid sticking his fingers in his ears going lalalalala doesn't listen to his customers. Seriously, find somewhere else to go. You can save A LOT of money compared to his prices just by looking online. There are even better places in town than there. Let alone you might find someone who is pleasant, friendly, and lets alone knows how to listen when people talk. Not worth the trouble he brings. read more

First and last time I will go to this store. I was in the mall and saw the store. I am a large collector of knives so I had to stop in. The owner did not want to hold a conversation. The items I looked at were way over priced. The owner was so rude my wife walked out. I literally tried to get him to change his attitude. But his one word answers continued. I will take my money elsewhere. If you want the typical bad attitude and high prices this is the place for you. I also put together this is the same guy placing ads on Craigslist but not using his business name. He must make so much money that he needs free marketing on Craigslist. read more

I have been going to Cutlery Collection to sharpen my knives for many years. The last several times, the owner has been extremely rude to me for no reason at all. The previous time, he apologized, on his own, for his rudeness. So, I thought he had a bad day and let it go. But he was rude yet again when I went back several months later. Go somewhere else for your sharpening needs, avoid this store. He obviously does not know how to treat his loyal customers. read more

I took 8 knives in to be sharpened. He told me to come back in an hour. I was charged less than $20.00. My knives are now as sharp as they were when I first bought them. You can really feel the difference when cutting. read more

I saw the excellent reviews on Yelp and decided to take my knives to Cutlery Collection. I had called during business hours and left messages twice with no response. After I left my knives there, I asked him if the phone always goes to the answering machine, hoping for an apology for not answering and not returning calls. He says,"Well, I take care of the customers who are in the store first." Then, I said I left messages twice and they were not returned. He didn't apologize for that either. So, anyway, I feel like he could have been nicer on the customer service. I did get a chef's knife and 6 steak knives sharpened and it totaled about $15 and he was done in an hour. read more

I have been dealing with Karl at Cutlery Collection in Plano all the way back to his years in operation at Prestonwood Town Center Mall. I was much younger then and recently I decided to start putting a collection of knives together for my young son. Karl has helped me over the past couple years in putting this particular collection together. The last knife I purchased was in Dec 2012 until Karl called me today with the latest and last piece we needed! There was a knife show in Dallas this past weekend apparently and while Karl was there on store business he came across the Lile knife we were lacking for my son's set. He purchased it and excitedly called me Monday morning. Yes it was expensive but he was more than fair in his pricing. Karl and his wife are a wealth of knowledge and experience when it come to knives and cutlery! They have been in the business 30+ years. If you are into knives and quality stuff thses are the folks to see. They take care of all my restaurants' sharpening as well as my knives at home. Their store is like a museum of fine knives and a great place for boys of all ages to hang out in! Thanks for taking the time to help me finish this set for my boy Karl!! read more
