A local staple for the Belleville area. A casual sports bar with lots of seating and an outdoor patio. Offering daily specials, the prices are fair. Drinks can be ordered at the bar in either room (alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic). For non-alcoholic beverages free refills are available. However, any food orders need to be placed at the window near the smaller bar. Your order number will be called over the intercom, and picked up in the same place you order. The burgers, onion rings, and pizza were among my favorite bites. The chicken tenders and mac n cheese bites weren't anything special. Both lacked seasoning and were quite bland. I'm not impressed. It's a nice little set up but if you're not from around here, or if you've never been here, it's very confusing on how to even order your food. There's no signs on where to go for anything and where you go to order your food at it says "exit". The older lady who took our order was very rude to her coworkers saying "I don't need y'all. Y'all need me!" which is just ridiculous to say to anyone - especially since they're here just trying to do their jobs. I wanted to order the Philly Cheesesteak but they were out and I had to opt for chicken tenders. No big deal. The food was average. The chicken tenders tasted like regular frozen tenders that you can buy at Walmart and the same goes for the fries. The pizza was ok but the crust could use more love - it was very dry and hard. I guess you get what you pay for since the food was pretty cheap (around $40 for food and drink for four people). read more

Cutters was highly recommended by multiple friends and I can see why. The restaurant/bar is huge and can facilitate parties of all sizes. They have two bars. You order food at the counter and they will call your number. On my first visit, I tried the peel and eat shrimp along with the wings. They were both delicious! The shrimp were huge and a dozen of them made for a great appetizer. The wings were the perfect kind of hot and I washed them down with a cold glass of Stag. When in Belleville, you have to drink the beer that came from this historic city. My wife ordered the cheese burger and onion rings. She also enjoyed her tasty dinner! The staff at Cutters are very friendly and helpful! They give great service and that is a huge plus when I go out to eat. I am so glad that my wife and I went to Cutters for dinner. Never been here, went to the bar to sit and eat.I read the menu it said I had to order a drink before getting any food. There was no issue with this however as I order my drink a man walks in with a dog , I have no problem with the dog in the building my problem was the man sits the dogs food/water bowl right next to where I'm sitting at the bar on the bar right where I'm going to eat at...now it's a problem I have two dogs and I never set their food and my food next to each other sorry not sorry that's unsanitary. Weird place, but it's okay because I like weird. It's a good thing I came here with a couple of guys who were familiar with the system, because otherwise I might still be sitting at a table waiting for a menu, haha! For the newbies, here's how it works... go to the window at the far back of the place and order your food. When I'm new I always ask the server what to order - she pointed me at a cheeseburger and fries. Sounded good so I paid my $3.11 before realizing that I didn't order a drink. I asked about it and was directed to the bar, where I paid another $1.50 for a large cup of soda (no free refills, so if you're really thirsty order tea). Then you go find a table and wait for your number to be called, at which time you report to the window to collect your food. There are a couple of servers who make the rounds in the dining area to pick up dishes and refill drinks. I thought everyone was really friendly and enjoyed my flame grilled burger and crispy fries. Came in for quick lunch today. The room was very smoky. The snow came from the kitchen. Apparently they were burning some food in there. So on a cold winter day they kept the door open to air it out. By the time you could talk without coughing it was considerably colder in the restaurant. The kitchen staff are nice folks and almost always are, but the bartender almost always seems to have an attitude there and I don't understand why. The burger was average. The sweet potato fries were soggy and cold however the pretzel bites with cheese sauce was spectacular. I ordered a soda but I was never asked about a refill. The service was non-existent. read more

We have visited this place many times over the years and the last few times were more and more disappointing. Tonight was no different and probably has made it were I won't go back. 1. Sat for 10 min no one came by for drink orders. Had to go to the bar to order 2. No shrimp 3. Ask for plates bigger than the tiny ones that they have for condiments. It was too much of an inconvenience and could not be fulfilled. 4. Had to pay 50 cents if I wanted sauce with my chicken tenders. 5. My daughter'a burger was cold. 6. No one ever came by to check on refills. I don't expect an A+ service at a dive bar on a Sunday night. I just expect some type of service even if it were bad service. We really got no service at all. This place is a miniature version of Fast Eddie's. Cheap shrimp and great pizza. They only take cash in the kitchen, but you can use debit in the bar area/restaurant. They have outside patio seating and on the weekends sometimes they have a band. Big screens everywhere, one could watch Nascar, hockey and baseball. Drinks were reasonable and tasty. Good lunch spot! Daily specials and decent thin crust pizza. Food is 4-stars, but service is a bit quirky and tough to figure out for rookies. Sit in the bar area, you go get your drinks separately at the (not at the grill). Sit in the dining area, waitress will get your drinks. Cheap wings for happy hour one day a week....pizza is pretty legit! They don't maintain a solid website or FB page, so don't bother looking for one...rely on Yelp! Unfortunately, I MUST take away some stars because you will walk out smelling like the grill your food was cooked. Why? Good question. The ventalation above the grill could use some attention. It's not dirty like nasty, but dirty like it doesn't do it's job and it's easy to see. Don't let that keep you from going, I'll be back...it's a risk I'm willing to accept for great 4-star food. I've never written a negative review in my life prior to this but this place sucks. Ordered a cheese burger and fries which were okay, nothing special. I asked for a glass of ice water and the bartender pulls a bottle of water out of the cooler. I ask if I can just get a glass of water and they say no. I didn't even know that was legal. Then they charge me a $1.50. My friend gets a soda for a $1.75 and then they wanted a $1.00 for a refill. I don't mind paying for good food but I hate being gouged. Won't be coming back. read more

I can't believe there isn't a review for this place. In the Metro East, there isn't much nightlife compared to the MO side. I've heard about this place for months, but due to bed rest I haven't got out much. Last weekend, my husband and I said let's try a few bar type places to see if they are worth getting a sitter for after the baby is here. Everyone that has went here compared it to Fast Eddies. Hmm... Not really. They have a grill area that you have to go up and order like Fast Eddies and their food is good, pretty cheap too. I was impressed with their burgers, fried mushrooms, and fried mac'n'cheese. Their drinks are pretty cheap too. My husband ordered a few beers and they were cheaper than most in the area. They have a stage where bands perform as well. I don't particularly like how the tables are set up. It's too cafe-ish for me. When we left though there was a pretty packed bar. We will definitely come check it out again when I can throw back a few drinks as well. read more

I have vowed not to go back here. The service is horrendous--ALWAYS, and frankly, it doesn't matter how awesome your food is or how great your patio is, I'm not putting up with being treated like crap! The food is cheap and good. The cooks and the cashier at the food counter are always pleasant. However, the bartenders, specifically the middle aged woman in the smaller side is inattentive and downright rude. Their "bouncer" is also a complete jackass. After changing their rule to "No one under 21 after 9 PM," this man went as far as to make a little family of three leave before they'd even finished. The couple had their child who was only months old in a stroller, and it was only 8:50-ish. We also stopped at Cutters for our first stop (and would've been our end stop) for a giant 3-birthday party bus we had. The bouncer told us if we left our cars there, he'd have them towed. We explained we were coming for dinner first and a few drinks prior to the bus and would be back before their closing time to have a final drink or two and finish the night. He was a callous jackass and would hear nothing of it and kept up the towing threat. Screw you, buddy. Needless to say we left, went to MoJacs, ordered pizza and had the bus pick us up there. We then went there for a few drinks before a birthday event to get the night going before going out elsewhere and had to beg the waitress for my debit card back. No kidding, I asked her three time and waited until I could grab her attention every time. It's as if what I said literally went in one ear and out the other. Finally, after over **20** minutes, a friend got up, went to the waitress station and demanded my card back. We had reservations for somewhere else and were almost late. She offered no apology at all. The final straw was on their outdoor bar/patio. It was about 10:30PM one night and a full table of friends and I were relaxing, sharing a bucket and several mixed drinks. Only one of us was drinking soda alone, and most of us had an additional paid drink with our alcohol, either soda or tea. The bar was hopping at that time but by 11:00 it had died down some. Regardless there were still at least 3 tables of people and a couple at the bar. It was still taking forever to get a drink because the bartenders were more concerned with chatting with off-the-clock coworkers and the same surly bouncer that we had encountered before. Not even 5 minutes after we finally got served (about 11:30) the bartender yelled that it was last call. What?! It wasn't even midnight. Okay, well we had just gotten drinks so we continued finishing them. Two tables made their way out, visibly ticked. That left us and one other table. No joke--5 MINUTES later they are staring intently at us and the other table. They literally switched gazes between us and the other table. That table left their beers half full and left. We weren't leaving alcohol we had paid for, but we were nearly finished. Not 30 seconds after the final table left they were kicking us out. Literally telling us to leave that they were closing the patio, and the old bouncer guy was closing the gates as we walked out. They slammed behind us and I was officially done with this hell hole. We walked out and to our cars. When we checked the time it wasn't even 12 yet, and we were tossed out on our ears. Their hours listed on Google say until 9:30 PM. Their FB hours say until 2 AM but you never know when this place chooses to close up, so don't make it a late night plan. We even drove past here a couple NYEs ago right after midnight, intending to stop, and they were locked up tight. I've just had more than enough of their awful customer service. $.15 wings aren't worth it when you get a ton of free crappy service and janky attitudes. If you aren't a people person perhaps you should choose a different career path! read more

Cutter's is a bar and grill restaurant in the east end of Belleville, just about mile and a half from the Public Square/fountain via East Main Street. The food they serve is mostly basic bar food, such as burgers, pizza, nachos, tacos, poppers, etc. But the quality of the food is very good, portions are hearty and the prices are just about impossible to beat. For example, a cheeseburger, french fries and a beer will set you back less than $5. Every Tuesday they have a special on eat-in large (16-inch) pizzas for just $6. The pizza is thin-crust style with a tasty tomato sauce and either mozzarella or provolone cheese and plentiful fresh toppings. On Friday, they have a special on tilapia, and while I'm not a big fan of fried fish, that always brings in a large lunchtime crowd (get there before noon, or after 1, or be prepared to queue up). There are other specials other days of the week, too. The kitchen staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, and I've never had an order messed up or lost. Bar staff are equally nice and attentive without being overbearing. The crowd is a mix of local office workers, tradesmen and military staff from nearby Scott Air Base. Cutters appears to be a place that has gone through several expansion phases, The main bar area seats only about 25, but the adjacent dining room will easily handle another 50. They've also opened up an annex around the back, but I think that's only open during the summer, as part of it is open air. I believe they also have live music on Friday and Saturday, though I've only been there in the evening a few times. The one band that seems to appear there regularly has a great name -- especially for a bar band -- The Well Hungarians. Cutter's is a great choice for a tasty no-frills lunch, in a comfortable and friendly environment. Highly recommended. read more

Diffently the worst bar I've been too. And I've been to bars all over the world. I'm a 58 year young Disabled Veteran who has visited Cutters at least 100 times during my military career, over the years I've seen the quality of the food and service decline to a point that we visit there only on occasion. My wife, daughter and I left the military retirement of a friend, did some shopping, and on our way home about 5pm we stopped by Cutter's for a quick bite to eat. With only five or six orders ahead of us we waited an hour and fifteen minutes, until the number for our food (2 burgers, one chicken strips and three fries) was called. Upon getting our food we found it was cold, the waitress just happened to be at our table refreshing our drinks and I told her our food was cold and requested to see a manager. Meanwhile my wife and daughter said they were too hungry go to another place and started eating their food. After a while the manager came by and after seeing my wife and daughter eating stated that he would gave us back $6 of our $12 (prepaid) bill. I said no that's alright and that I would come back and speak to the owner. He left and a few minutes later came back and said "the owner was right over there if I wanted to talk to him". Well after 35 years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves I don't intimidate very easily. I walked most of the length of the building to talk to the owner, when I reached the gentleman he opened with so you want a refund after eating more than half of your food, well your not getting one. I said you gotta fxxking be kidding me. He immediately put his finger in the air signaling the bartender to call the police. I said well looks like you have made your mind up, and returned to my wife and daughter to wait for the police. A short time later the police arrived, and my family and I left the building. During my interview with the police the owner tried to give me money at least three times, I'm sure to try and save face. As a Disabled American Veteran I'm asking you to boycott Cutter's. read more

Went here for someone's going away. I wasn't pleased with the outside appearance nor was I with the smell when I walked in. We ordered 5 pizzas for about 20 people. They were only $7 or $9 for the supreme. It's the thin crust style like Imo's but tastes way better than Imo's. I was actually surprised. They cut the pizza in little squares so you eat a lot, but it was good pretty fast too. Didn't try anything else but the prices looked pretty cheap.
