I'm honestly surprised by the overall rating here because I found the staff to be super hospitable and the food to be quite good. Yes, it's a bit pricier, but that feels completely expected for an on-resort restaurant. We started with the chicken wings, and our server was very eager to let us know that we could do as many sauce combinations as we wanted for the 8 wings. We went with half buffalo and half dry rub, and both were excellent. The wings were perfectly crispy, which I love, with the buffalo sauce bringing a tangy little kick and the house dry rub packing in tons of seasoning and flavor. Bonus points for providing both ranch and bleu cheese on the side for dipping! The French onion soup was surprisingly tasty, with a rich, very oniony broth and an impressive gratin of cheese and charred onions on top that gave it a really satisfying and sumptuous crust. For our entree we opted for one of the Restaurant Week offerings, a choice of burger with a side for $20, and went with the wagyu burger plus a side salad. It was delicious, with the patty being cooked to a perfect medium, and the whole thing being so rich, savory, and packed with umami. She was busy as heck but took good care of me. I started off with a blonde ale on draft and ordered a burger medium rare and just rested at the bar, watching some WWE wrestling and curling at the Winter Olympics. They had a great beer selection and I loved the local Pilsner I tried. The service was fast and efficient. The family came in last night for dinner as it was our last night in Incline Village. We did not stay at the Hyatt, but instead opted for a VRBO house on the hill. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant as I have seen it a couple times when me and my buddy came in to play Craps at the Casino. To get started, I asked our waitress if the old fashion cocktail here was good, and she just shrugged. I ordered one and asked her to serve it with one large ice cube. She said they do not have the large ice cubes. So I reluctantly said, go ahead and bring it to me with Makers Mark bourbon. She returned to the table and said they were out of Makers Mark bourbon. so I said screw it and I just ordered a glass of Cabernet. It was a Daou Cabernet by the glass from Paso Robles, Ca. I know this winery, and the wine is very good. The glass that she brought me however must've been from a bottle that had been open for a while because it was not very good. We started with the calamari and the quesadilla. The calamari was actually very good and we all enjoyed it. The quesadilla, however did not get a lot of favorable review on the table. The flavor was bland, and the expectations were not met. I had a cup of the Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Bisque Soup. It was very good with good flavor and texture. I followed that up with a Steak and Shrimp entree. I must say I was a bit disappointed. The filet was very thin about a grade above a Denny's Steak and the shrimp was just OK. For the price that you're paying for this plate you would expect a thicker steak and better quality. My buddy had the Fish and Chips and said it was very good, and it looked good too. I am glad we tried the restaurant, but we probably will not return if we have a different option. The overall food quality is just ok, but it is all overpriced. I was staying at the Hyatt for a solo trip and decided on a casual dinner on Sunday evening at Cutthroats Saloon. It was Sunday night football, so it was very busy. Luckily, I was able to get a table for myself around 6 PM with no problem. 1. My server, Mary, was efficient, friendly, and did not rush me. I really appreciated that. 2. They had only two servers (both overwhelmed but calm and collected) and a bartender, and support from a few other staff members (runners, etc). This is likely due to the pandemic impact on dining. So, please be kind and patient. Besides, we're here to relax!! 3. I had the POTATO SOUP and it was DELICIOUS. Honestly, the best potato soup I've ever had. I can't stop thinking about it, especially as the weather has now turned in California (rain/snow). 4. The soup filled me up so I only had that, but, I saw the nachos coming out of the kitchen and WOW they looked amazing. HUGE (2-4 people can split). If I had a guest with me I would have surely gotten them. 5. If you're a wine nerd, then you're better off with a cocktail or beer - or BYO wine. 6. Kids are welcome, and while most were well behaved, there was one that threw a fit. Luckily their wailing was quelled when dinner arrived at the table. So just a heads up for those not into kiddos. They are there :-) 7. I highly recommend reservations during sports ball events. However, the bar had a few seats open at all times. 8. Four stars because the hostess had no personality and seemed to not only be micromanaging (constantly checking the tables, which I know is her job, but it was obvious and as a solo diner, a bit annoying/insulting) but unhappy in her role. She seemed burdened by each customer that approached her. When I left, I said "Have a great night!" to her and she just said "You too." (She should thanked me for coming.) 9. I had room service the next night from Cutthroat's. I love chicken tenders (like a 12 year old) and their chicken tenders were frozen Sysco-tasting tenders. I'll surely stick to the potato soup and other dishes (nachos, fish chips, etc) in the future. 10. They used to have live music. I hope in the future they bring that back!
