Innovative combination of flavors and fresh ingredients. We loved the sourdough bread, heirloom tomatoes and watermelon and the branzino was perfection. Classic Tahoe vibe with excellent service. Highly recommended.

Stating that we had excellent service here would be an understatement. The service was 5 star. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent. The bread and garlic/olive oil and anchovy spread was epic. The burger, steak frites...fantastic. The atmosphere is classy, yet quirky...elegant, sophisticated...then you go into the restroom and punk rock music is playing. They don't take themselves seriously. They have a sense of humor. Loved it.

3.5 stars Service: had reservations and was sat quickly. However, on the site we requested chefs counter, but it was filled and we were sat at a regular table instead. Food was brought out in a timely manner and dishes were cleared quickly. However, no one came to check on what we thought of the dishes. When asked for Togo boxes, they box it for you, which was nice. Ambiance: place gives a cute date vibe with the dimly lit lights. However, noise was loud (although we loved the playlist). People seemed to be yelling over the music. Tables were also pretty close, so when people were getting out to leave you were bumping into each other. For bench seats there was also no space to put your coats, so it felt like you were encroaching on people's space when you set your stuff down. Food: enjoyed the appetizers more than the main entree. - crispy mushrooms: 5/5 loved the batter flavor and the mushroom inside was nice and juicy - tequenos: 4/5 nice and juicy, but the sauce didn't quite hit the spot for me. Wasn't what I expected for a chimichurri. A bit too creamy for my taste - lamb ragout: 3/5 lamb was tender and noodles were nice and chewy, but I felt like it was pretty bland tasting. Everything felt like it needed more salt

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Such a cool ambiance, music and Tahoe Vibe. Followed by impeccable service, great wine list and oh the food......best ever. Such an amazing experience all around. Chef Andrew and his lovely wife Chata are killing it!

Pork Milanese. Not bad. Didnt mind the mole sauce either

Food gave our palate a new taste for sure. And not mad at it. Will be back def need to try a few other things. Service was ok nothing special. The place is def tight on the inside. Small tables. Very loud. Was it worth it. I'd say yes!

Hands down the best food in the Tahoe area from kings Beach, South Lake Tahoe to Tahoe city. If you call yourself a good you will not skip on this place when in Tahoe. Our server,I believe his name was Asher but I could be wrong, was very attentive and knew the menu and explained everything very well. Love the chefs music choice for the restroom, funny to day but you'll understand when you go lol. Had a good talk with the chef as he delivered a couple the courses we had. Loved everything and we will be back

Updating my review since I had the opportunity to enjoy several dishes at Sylva on New Years Eve. Every single dish we tried was AMAZING. The staff provided friendly and fast service. They were attentive to everyone in the establishment even during dinner rush. I love this restaurant so much. 10/10 recommend. It's beautiful inside which is also a plus!

Fantastic dining experience. Absolutely loved the rustic Tahoe atmosphere and the open kitchen and bar spaces in this restaurant. It was so fun being greeted by the Kitchen action and watching the passionate chefs craft salads and pizzas as well as other Woodfire dishes from the small but mighty space right inside the entrance. I didn't think to look before hand, but this is a beer and wine only establishment, and though I thought I would be disappointed in that they offer a menu of spritz options which merge vermouths with wines and other accoutrement to create cocktail like offerings, and I tried the Spanish spritz. This was such a surprising combination and something that was so refreshing, but also somewhat warming like a brown spirit cocktail on a cool night. I appreciated the sweet and savory notes in this spritz and eating the pickled onion garnish while drinking it heightened the experience in a way. I don't think I could've imagined. Pretty fun to have dinner Start like that, but it kept coming as the menu is full of surprise and delight moments, just like it. As we looked at the menu, we quickly realized we wanted to order almost everything so with our long list in hand, we chatted with our server to see if we overcommitted ourselves or done things right and we were pleased to find out that we did it perfectly. Many changes frequently, but I will give you our order here: Melon and Nuoc Cham Octopus Radishes and Butter Roasted Japanese Eggplant Tagliatelle with rabbit and poached egg Shishitos and corn Hamachi Peach, Ricotta pizza (seasonal) All of them are good some stood out above the rest, but the entirety of the order worked well together as a bit of a tasting menu and we left full and happy. Service is absolutely a place in which this restaurant shines. Our server Asa had a great casual presence at the table and an impressive knowledge of the food to help guide us to the right selections. He checked in on totally appropriate intervals and made sure to ask the right questions to find out if everything was going well and how we could make the experience better. He seemed to genuinely care right out of the gate that we had a great experience and was quick to address absolutely anything we brought up with a smile, even when one of the dishes seemed to miss at our table he quickly corrected course and and asked us if we wanted a new dish or just to pass on it altogether. He was on it in a way that was incredibly refreshing. And to put the icing on the service cake, it was fantastic seeing the chef and owner serving plates and checking in with guests in an incognito fashion. That shows a lot of regard for both his team and his diner's experiences. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to die in there again soon. Definitely make a reservation because it's small and it is clearly popular with good reason!

An amazing restaurant- very special farm to table food that's so unique! Michaela our waitress was so awesome. We loved loved loved the Branzino, snap peas salad, pizza, steak, cabbage, mushrooms and lettuce salad. Such wonderful ambience and people!

Came in on a Monday, lots of places aren't open here on Mondays so I'm grateful for that. They are closed Tuesday and Wednesdays though. Started with the heirloom tomatoes (not a tomato person but thought I'd pick out of the box). They were very good, probably would have enjoyed it a bit more had the tomatoes been chopped up a bit more so it could soak in more of the flavor of the ver jus, which I spooned out of the bowl to eat because it was so tasty. The hazelnuts were a lovely touch and crunch to the dish. Ordered the Spanish octopus and it was slightly disappointing. Almost to the point of being overcooked, octopus isn't easy to cook, I understand but it was not as tender as I'm used to and a bit fatty, and fatty is not something I've had on an octopus before. The black garlic aioli is not very complimentary to the dish, I tried to avoid it actually but the salsa verde was tasty. The fingerling potatoes were wanting to be crispy but I found them to be mushy and not to my palettes liking. I understand trying to add Kalamata olives to the dish to make it more Mediterranean but it made the plate too salty. There was a lot going on but none of it worked together. Loved the frisée though, not enough restaurants use it and it was a good texture to add. Very open and light decor. There is a small bar you can sit at or a small chefs table/bar where you can watch the chefs cook. Probably the best seat in the house to be honest but it wasn't available when I showed up so I sat at the bar. This place only has wine, bubbles and spritz - sorry boozy friends, no other cocktails. There is one rotating beer tap (12oz for $8), craft beer can selections ($10), a bottle of hard cider ($33) and a hard kombucha (16oz at $10). Was bummed when there were no Italian reds by the glass, only the bottle. Got to try the house made sorbet. The flavor of the day was blueberry, lemon and thyme and even though the lemon wasn't very present it was a well rounded sorbet. Ordered the Sweatah Weathah which was a salted honey and apple bar with a crème fraîche ice cream. The combo together was brilliant. Made the original 3 star review into a 4 star. I hope to come back and try other dishes that really wow me sometime soon. Also my bartender/server was doing an amazing job and running circles around this place when it got busy. Everyone seemed very happy with the Casey's service.

A nice fancier restaurant to go to after skiing (or after a nice summer day out on the lake!) Staff was super nice - I believe it's walk ins only so i would go around opening if you want to be in the first wave / not wait. Overall, everything was kind of salty for my tastebuds (but I'm notoriously salt sensitive lol) and I guess the altitude means more seasoning. Highly recommend the pork belly with kimchi - it was so so succulent and the acidic kimchi is a great pairing (honestly the combo tasted like kbbq). The fries were very much needed to tone down the seasoning. The fresh pappardelle was also amazing. Great pasta texture, super fresh dish which is a nice change from the heavier pork belly. The pan roasted gnocchi was also amazinggg especially with the duck confit. Another dish that kind of tasted like kbbq to me haha and that is NOT a bad thing. The mushrooms were super meaty and the gnocchi had a good combo of crispy outside soft and gooey inside. The chorizo pizza was pretty good but probably wouldnt get it again. I think there are other items i wouldve wanted to try in place of it but i guess we just really wanted some pizza after a day on the slopes.

Loved the ambiance and small bites we tried (heirloom tomatoes with peaches and grilled ham n cheese). It was all so good and I can't wait to come back and try more! The service was friendly and quick. Definitely a must try in Tahoe City!

Hands down the BEST restaurant I've had in a long time! I will eat here every time I come back to Tahoe. Thank you Chef Andrew and Skip and the amazing team. We ordered: Duck Leg, White Peach Pizza, and the Cherry Crack for dessert. Everything 11/10!! I wish I would've ordered more!! INCREDIBLE and beautiful location as well

We sat on the patio, and our sever Hannah was great from beginning to end. It wasn't too busy. I ordered the beef wagyu ravioli and it was not good. The beef was dry and the ravioli was dumped in a wine sauce. Hannah took it off our bill. Also wtf was the bread. My friend tried it I did not because there was some kind of pepper in it. My friend said it was chewy and it was served with like a creamy thousand island dressing. Huh? My friend ordered the burger. The fries were mushy. I had the smoked chicken pasta and it was DRY. Dry chicken, dry pasta. No flavor. And the asparagus looked like brains. Congealed mozzarella covered every inch. I didn't eat it and they offered me something else. We decided on spaghetti to go. I didn't open the to go box until we got to our room. The meatballs were dry and honestly visually the food looked terrible. Meatballs were black, the pasta had little sauce and again congealed cheese. Listen, I sound like a Karen. We were lovely to Hannah and she was lovely to us. I was embarrassed to not eat food because that's my worst nightmare to draw that kind of attention. Honestly I'm probably the most upset by that. 99% of the time if I don't like something I box that shit to go and either my kids eat it or it goes in trash in the privacy of my home. Couldn't even pretend and that was horrible. Usually I also allow for great service and location to bump up ratings but I think that is what lulls people into the belief they might enjoy the food. No. That being said we did not eat pizza. That could be the draw here but I can't speak to it. Overall, the owners of this place should consider how great it would be to be the whole package. Location, service, AND food. But I guess when you run a business in a tourist town you can get away with less.
