If I can give this restaurant more stars I absolutely will. Went to Tahoe with some friends and we were all in the mood for a nice steakhouse. By far the best one I have ever been to in CA. The place has a cabin feelvery cozy with low lights. Our waiter Trevor was on top of everything we received great service. Our dishes were definitely shareable they serve big portions cannot complain. The drinks were good as well. I would love to live closer so I can frequent this restaurant more. In the meantime definitely will visit again when in Tahoe.

Lovely restaurant across the street from the lake. Portions are great and service was quick. Menu is pretty limited so look before you go to make sure there's something you like!

Everything was spot-on! The steak was perfectly cooked -- juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The sides were rich and comforting, especially the mashed potatoes. Our server was wonderful and truly tried their best to make sure every detail met our needs. Great food, great service, and an overall warm dining experience. Highly recommend! A generous cut of prime rib cooked to a perfect medium-rare, beautifully tender with a juicy pink center and a flavorful crust. It's served with a creamy horseradish sauce on the side and a rich au jus base that enhances every bite. Accompanying it are buttery mashed potatoes -- smooth, velvety, and the perfect comfort pairing. A slow-braised lamb shank served over a hearty bed of white beans and vegetables, soaked in a savory broth. The meat looks tender enough to fall off the bone, with a topping of fresh scallions for a pop of color and flavor. It's a rustic, comforting dish with rich aromas and a melt-in-your-mouth texture -- perfect for anyone who enjoys deep, slow-cooked flavors. FYI heavy taste

I decided that, after her first week of radiation treatment, my wife needed a quick jaunt in Kings Beach. I chose this establishment to be our "special dinner." Not fine dining per se, but it is somewhat expensive and only a once in a while type place. But.. . YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! We shared a crab louie type appetizer, complete with crackers, avocado, and other components. Delicious. My filet was not only cooked perfectly to my preferred temperature, but the mashed potatoes would make Dracula cry...and he's 8,000 miles away in Romania. The creamed spinach tasted freshly made, and was so indulgent. May not have been my healthiest meal of late, but definitely one of the tastiest. Due to radiation treatments and dietary constraints, my wife was limited on what to order. She was able to "only" order a chicken pesto dish....at a steakhouse...where she was surprised at how good a pasta dish was...again....at a steakhouse. Mad props to having a delicious alternative to hunks of meat. Our server was perfect. Interacted when he needed too, very friendly, but let us take our time to enjoy our meal. Again, definitely a once in a while type place price wise, bit 100% worth it. Strongly recommend for your steak needs...

After years of visiting Tahoe finally got the opportunity to try Old Range. Worth the visist for sure. Staff was great, very friendly. Plate are large portions and very tasty, just take a look at the NY steak. Overall very pleased, oh get the cheesecake to finish off your meal

Dining at the Old Range Steakhouse in Tahoe was spectacular! The restaurant is beautiful with old fashioned steakhouse decor and vibe! We had no reservations but lucky to have the last two seats by the bar. The host was polite and our server was friendly and attentive. Old Range Steakhouse deserves a solid full five Yelp Star from me. Our dinner was delicious. The prime rib and Osso buco was cooked to perfection! The prime rib cut was huge and generous! Idk why the Yelp review gave this Old Range Steakhouse 3.5 star. I highly recommend it!

How did I never know about this incredible place BEFORE? FOH was 110%, the views of the lake were great, and the food better get a Michelin Star soon! The best, biggest prime rib I have ever had! Great appetizer bread, the mushrooms were through the heavens! Creamed spinach was also the best I have ever had. Wife said her petite filet was probably the best she ever had, and she has travelled the world on business. Now onto the wedge salad. OMG. The best thick bacon bar none. Best wedge salad. Fresh brewed ice tea!

Food was very tasty, the portion is way too big. I recommend you split your order for an additional $9 (2 person can definitely share 1 order) because all of us only finished our food halfway! Our first time to eat here so we didn't know. but it's all good. We really enjoyed eating here! The server was really nice, ambiance was nice. I think the only downside was the wait. I think we waited like 30 minutes for our order to be ready, but it was totally fine because food was very delicious so it was all worth the wait!

We were here visiting Lake Tahoe and came here for dinner for my birthday. Idk why this place only has a 3 1/2 stars. The food is incredibly delicious. I had a New York Strip and my boyfriend had a Filet Mignon. Both came with delicious garlic mashed potatoes. I definitely recommend this restaurant. 10/10. And next time I'm in Lake Tahoe I will definitely come here to eat. We took the leftovers home and had steak and eggs for breakfast and the steak was still and good and juicy. We did get lucky as walk in's but we sat at the bar because that was only available. And we are ok with that because we like to sit at the bar for better service. Ohh and before I forget. You MUST try the home made cheesecake. It is sooooo good. We were so full but we still ordered it and it didn't disappoint.

I didn't even know this place existed since I had last been back to town. It was an accident to find it, we were going for a trusted and loved sandwich at Full Belly Deli next door and were happy to see it there. We came in during the week for trappy hour, where we had the most delicious oysters, shrimp, and chowder. Plus some really great beer and wine. We liked it so much, and wanted to try more of the oyster types they had so we went back on Friday afternoon to learn they don't have the oyster deal on busy days. Which totally makes sense, it's an awesome deal-- half a dozen for $15. So on our second trip we tried the ceviche, crab cake slider, and hot butter lobster roll. All delicious and fresh as well. I have nothing but good things to say about the food and staff. The only thing to be aware of is the dining area in the shop is pretty small, but if too full the tables outside of FBD could be used. Next time I'm in town I'll be back.

First of the seafood was amazingly fresh considered where we are. We ordered the following (HH) Half Dozen Oysters- Absolutely fresh and delicious 5/5 (HH) Trappy Hour Hawaiian Poke Bowl- Surprisingly this was delicious. Tuna was well marinated and seasoned.5/4 (HH) Crab Cake Sliders- This was great, all crab meat in the crab cake.5/4 Connecticut Lobster Roll- The lobster was fresh and sweet. The portion size of the lobster roll was perfect for the price. 5/5 Service was great and friendly. They have plenty of parking. Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in Truckee CA.

Here is what we noticed: - Our reservation was at 5:30, the time they open, and a bunch of people arrived all at once, but they quickly seated us all - They only serve beer and wine, but their wine list was really good and bottle prices were very reasonable for a restaurant. - Our server came over pretty quickly despite so many people arriving at once. - The menu is pretty broad with lots of different options, and there were many other specials as well. - My wife and I ordered the rack of lamb and the fettuccine with shrimp with added scallops. Both dishes came with complementary soup first. It's difficult to say which dish we liked more since both were excellent. The bread and hummus on the table was a welcome addition, and was especially good for sopping up the wonderful sauce from each dish. - We got tempted by dessert and opted for the bread pudding with a side of homemade ice cream. They were a little too big for my liking and had a creamier texture than I prefer, but overall they were good. Clam Linguine -- 7/10 The linguine was solid. The portion was decent, and I liked the combination of clams, lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. Nothing that completely blew me away, but still a good dish. But one of the problems with this restaurant is how the food is plated and presented. You can see from most pictures that it lacks visual appeal. My sister ordered the lasagna. It was interesting that the meat inside was a sliced meatball. I don't know what to say about that. Lastly, my niece ordered Angel hair pasta. I would venture to guess that they boiled a whole box and dumped that same portion into her bowl.
