Always understaffed, which makes wait times ridiculous. I called last week to try to ask a question about my medication and was waiting to speak to someone for almost 45 minutes before giving up and calling back. I then waited nearly half an hour before giving up entirely. I had tried to refill a medication using the CVS app a few days before, but it wasn't eligible until this day. I kept checking the app all day and it never updated from "in process" so I wanted to know if there was an issue. When I was finally able to get them this week, only one person was working. I was second in line but still had to wait more than 20 minutes because the pharmacist had to prepare and administer multiple vaccines. 6 or 7 people got in line behind me before I was seen, but 3 of them gave up and went to shop first before it was my turn to get my medication. read more

They don't open until 11am on Sundays, which is fine. However, they don't bother to answer the phone to provide assistance or answer questions. Instead, the "on hold" music and CVS messaging play on repeat for as long as you are willing to waste your time. read more

Not surprised this CVS has such bad reviews. I just called the number on google and followed the prompt to say that I am a patient and would like to speak to the pharmacy staff and the pharmacist answered the phone and was very rude saying that this is the doctor line and she has an actual doctor on the phone and hung up. I called again and she again said that this is the doctors line very rudely and I said they should fix the number on google and she started yelling saying "this is the doctors line i know my doctors line". I hung up and decided not to give them my business anymore. read more

I rarely have anything bad to say, and I try to avoid giving bad reviews. However, this CVS was the worst. The customer service at the pharmacy specifically, was horrible. I had a time sensitive prescription and they said it would be filled. I never received a call that it was ready, so I called 3 times and spoke to 3 different pharmacists. They said they'd fill my order. I waited another WEEK, and finally had enough. I went in person and asked why it hadn't been filled when it had been over 2 weeks and I needed it desperately. The pharmacist working nonchalantly told me they couldn't fill that specific medication so I'd need to call my doctor, or they could transfer it to a location 20 miles away if I had a car (which I don't)... very unprofessional. A good pharmacists would have called and conveyed that information early on, so I could make different plans.. I would not recommend this place. read more

I'm intrigued/amused and even a little scared by this CVS all in one... but it's all good. This CVS is open 24 hours, great for when you are up early on Sunday morning, want a newspaper, Diet Coke, maybe a snack and this is where things are happening in the 'hood. The people who work here are some of the nicest CVS people I have ever encountered. They all say hello when I walk in, they smile, say thank you.... and they have a large parking lot in case you want to drive. The kind of "shady" part is that I have been there for two different people being tossed out of the store for shoplifting (adults), seen two little kids (5 years old at the most) stealing stuff with their parents, so the clientele might be a bit sketchy. Zero stars. Horrible customer service. Terrible pharmacy that can't get basic details correct. Badly understaffed. Prepare to wait a long time. How many times over how many months does it take me telling them, "I will pay out of pocket. Please note that in your system." Yet they get it wrong every single time. Whenever there's a question or they've failed to meet the phone system time line, they tell you to go wait in ANOTHER line, with no one attending that line. I live nearby, and have used this CVS for over 3 years. I will no longer be using the pharmacy, and will walk the extra 6 blocks to the Harris Teeter pharmacy. This CVS has, for the most part, polite front staff. Yes, the other reviews are correct in that there are issues if you have to return something, the prices are often incorrect, trying to use coupons is a hassle, and you have to use a self-checkout 99.9% of the time. If something is on sale, rest assured you will not find it at this CVS. Sale items sell out almost immediately. If you want a certain cold drink (soda, water, sports drink, coffee drink, etc.) the coolers are often empty or underserviced. The absolute biggest problem in this store is the pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is either straight out rude (the head pharmacist seems to hate life and customers) or is incompetent. Again, I used this pharmacy out of convenience, but I am now taking my business to Harris Teeter, where I have never had to wait in ridiculous lines, have never been called the wrong name and have been yelled at because I didn't hear them when they called (how was I to know it was me they were calling? I have a very, very, very common, boring, vanilla last name and they totally mispronounced it, but that is probably in part due to the majority of the staff not being native English speakers), have never been told something was ready when it wasn't, etc. etc. I agree with the other negative reviews. I give 2 stars only because the front staff has always been friendly to me (although, with one male staffer, sometimes a bit TOO friendly...). However, I need to get more exercise in anyhow, so I will walk an extra half mile to a pharmacy that doesn't treat its clientele like moronic cattle. If you have the luxury of having a car, and insist on getting a prescription filled at CVS, I would go to the one on Lee Hwy/Spout Run Pkwy; this one is slightly better and has a 24-hour pharmacy, but only **slightly** better. The bar is set so by this CVS on Glebe Rd. that you could shuffle over it, so pretty much any other pharmacy is better. read more

What I like is the like is the location. However, when I tried to buy two new prescription ointments near closing time but was told were unavailable. I think the pharmacist appeared to be trying to close shop and did not seem particularly happy or enthusiastic about providing service at dinner time. This CVS referred to the Rosslyn CVS as having a much larger inventory but since that was closed this was not an option. What I think could be better is the ability to answer the question of which CVS has the medication if any at all. I think better visibility into the inventory situation would help customers who are trying to make a decision whether to visit or not. There is not a need to carry the medication but rather a need to tell me where to go to get it. Since my question was not answered, it was necessary to get my prescription filled at a non-CVS location.. I recommend calling ahead to check before walking here even if your prescription is a popular generic--it might not be in stock. read more

This CVS is not very well-stocked and more often than not I could never find someone to help me at the register, it's practically a self-serve store. I have also come here numerous times to take advantage of the new curbside service but 75% or more of the times I've had to actually go in the store and pick up my items because when I pull up no one ever shows up. When I do find someone to help me locate an item I may be looking for, they seem bothered as if they were not on the clock and then there were those instances where the attendants didn't even try to help at all. It's conveniently​ located to where I live but that might be the only draw. read more

Don't go here if you want to scan photos. The person working there told me that he's been there since January and he's never seen it work. What's the point of having a scanner of it doesn't work? CVS doesn't care. I also called their number to file a complaint. But if it's been 8 months it won't matter if I called corporate. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am with the customer service here. If I could give negative stars I would. They claim to be 24 hours but we attempted to walk in about half an hour ago to grab some vitamins that my husband desperately needed. NOT prescriptions...just over the counter vitamins. There were FOUR employees on the clock. THREE of them were busy smoking out front. The only employee actually WORKING was one special woman who was working her ass off doing inventory. The only good thing about this CVS is that it is close to where I live. But stopping here at the middle of the night spooks me a little bit. The store itself is not the best managed or best looking CVS stores and that maybe adds to the whole negative vibe I get from this location. The pharmacy here is rude and unhelpful (so much for the "service") in Convenience, Value and Service. The pharmacist could have been much more "service" with a few key phrases like "this will just be a minute while I look you up", "I found you" followed by "we'll have your prescription ready tonight". The lady snatched my prescription away, without talking to me. She briskly ignored me, then I got paged. "You're not in the system, let me see your card". (rude pharmacist) me: I know I"m in the system, but I don't have my card on me. her: you'll have to pay full price. me: I think you spelled my last name with an "o" instead of an "a" (common mistake) brisk 5 further minute interlude while she typed away, again ignoring me. She looks up: Local number? me: I don't live here. her: local number? I give her my parents number. Her: It'll be 15 minutes, we close at 6 pm. I look at my watch, it's 5:42 pm, and ask "will I get it before it closes?" She: ignores me again. I go stand near the pickup area, and my prescription eventually emerges. I ask the dispenser if they're any side effects, needs to take with food, water, other things I should know. Dispenser "read the bag". Me: the bag is blank. dispenser: "I don't know". read more

This CVS is horrible. Its in Arlington but the area is sketchy. I live close to the CVS in Ballston Mall (walking distance) but I come here because its a larger store that has parking. The pharmacy here is the worst. I dropped off a prescription and told them I would come back in 5 hrs to pick it up only to discover that it wasn't put in the system so I had to wait. The technician was nice and filled it fast but I gave my prescription to the pharmacist who did not put it in. Also if you ever need to return something or were overcharged you will have to wait because they only have one person at the actual registers and one person watching the self checkout who cant help anyone. If you have a choice go to another location. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Placed online order for photo cards. Got email confirmation and notification they were ready to pick up. Went to pick them up and they couldn't be located. Then some BS explanation trotted out about the app not working or sending orders through. Seriously that's what you're going with? Then he pulls out the drawer that contains all the photo orders and (1) the envelopes are not even alpha ordered and (2) several have ripped corners and look like they've been dropped. Service at the pharmacy was rude, laughingly attempted to be demeaning to someone who can actually speak English and had manners, and was overall one of the most unprofessional, pathetic environments I have ever been in. I literally considered calling the national offices to report the store and my two horrific experiences there. Both of which included them promising that my prescription would be ready in 15 minutes, but it was not ready until the next day and an attempt by the head pharmacist to overcharge me for my prescription. Many prices on the shelves are wrong and when you check out the self check out machines(there's no humans working anymore) will ring the product up at over $1 more. This store has poor customer service and is not safe. I have been accosted by homeless men asking for money. There was a guy loitering and rolling around in his wheelchair in the tiny parking lot, which made drivers concerned about running him over. The South Asian night clerk does not seem to care or help with purchases. When he can't help me, which is often, he tells me to come back the next day. The other day, the Budweiser vendor blocked the entire parking lot, so no one could park in any of the spots in front of the store. The vendor guy was not unloading any merchandise but was camped out in the parking lot doing mysterious and probably illicit things in his Budweiser truck. He had not even bothered to lower the loading ramp. When I asked him to move, he screamed at me and confronted me to my face 3 times. He yelled at me to go around him when I was trying to park! His rage issues made me believe that he was on something. The South Asian night clerk who was with me said and did nothing. I left fearing for my safety. I called CVS Corporate and was told the District Manager would call me within 48 hours. The District Manager never bothered to call me back and it's four weeks later! This store and its invisible District Manager really do not care about any of it customers. read more

This is the worst CVS.. I have been going to the CVS for over the past ten years and will not go back again. Not only do you have to self check out but the staff is too busy chatting with their friends to help you with anything.
