Actually no stars if possible - used the CVS app to order a refill on a Rx. The app replied that I could not fill until the next day. So I tried again the next day. App said not fillable until mid August. Since it was filled the day before. So I called the store and explained that there was a problem with the App and I need to refill the Rx. They said it was not their problem and told me to call the insurance company. Insurance company said that yes it was CVS who should call them and they would not delete a charge for me. Insurance company called the store - the store dropped the call. CVS hung up on the insurance company. So I called the store again to make sure it was not filled the day before. Then called the insurance company who called the store. Guess what! CVS deleted the first days insurance billing at the insurance companies request. Insurance company said it was CVS who should call not the patient. Then CVS said I could refill the next day - the day after the App date. Why have an App if it doesn't work. But if they don't answer phone calls - your stuck. Get in your car and drive over and wait in line.!! How's your carbon footprint?! Basically fraud on CVS part. Charging for goods not delivered. CVS app charged the insurance company - took the money - before checking if the Rx was fillable- Pharmacy could not be bothered to call. Lazy SOB. Pharmacist and technician all terrible. Wow! They insist on making you wait for them to help you, even though they are not busy and "working" in slow motion. They are inaccurate: I have given them my new insurance card 3 times and new phone number. Each time I get a prescription filled, they have the old phone number and old insurance info and try to bill the insurance company I am no longer with! Then, they make me wait while they "bill" the correct insurance company! The cashier is slow, lazy and has an attitude. It is clearly poorly managed. I will be switching pharmacies - lack of energy, efficiency and intelligence, even for SLO County standards! read more

this CVS in Arroyo Grande makes their pharmacy customers wait a really long time for their prescriptions. I called 4 hours ahead of time and they said that my prescription would be ready in 2 hours. I came into the store 2+ hours later and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. 45 minutes later it still wasn't ready. read more

I go in to this pharmacy from time to time and am always disappointed. Staff are nice, but aren't that knowledgeable and therefore can't help me. Items in the store are significantly more costly than in other stores. Specifically, I went into the store today for dermoplast and incontinence pads. They did not have the pads my family member requested. I asked a staff member if the item they DID have in stock was similar. They didn't have a clue what the item was for. The dermoplast was $9 and some change. Not satisfied, I had to go to Walmart. Walmart not only had the same Dermoplast for $6.19, but the pharmacist helped me picked out the pads I needed, which were $3 cheaper as well. A bonus- the pharmacist informed me the pads were a covered item in flexible spending accounts, so I could save even more $$ by using my HSA card. Awesome. I don't know why I keep going back to CVS. I keep hoping for that "quick trip in and out" I guess. Never happens. I want to say I won't go back, but an empty store and the hope an item I need MIGHT be there might just lure me back... read more

I would have given ZERO stars. I went into CVS yesterday (07/16/21). I had to walk there because I dont have a car at the moment. With that being said, I had a backpack on so I could bring my items with me since I had one more store to go to. Before entering, I grabbed my wallet and phone and set them in the top part of the basket. I made sure to put my backpack at the bottom of the basket and not touch it at all in the store. I walked inside and got my coupons and started shopping. I put the items in the top part of the cart so they were not near my backpack. I grabbed my 4 items and was heading over to the register to pay when the manager on duty, named Mickayla(the one with pink hair and glasses), stopped me and said I needed to leave. I had done absolutely nothing wrong. I was not stealing, I was not being rude to anyone, I was simply minding my own business while shopping. I kept asking what I did and she said that she was not accusing me of anything and she did not need to give me a reason why. This is a form of discrimination. I shop in this store all the time. I have never once been asked to leave by anyone. I have never met this girl and I have no idea why she was singling me out. She would not give me a reason why and threatened me with calling the police for trespassing. She was very rude in the manner in which she spoke to me, as well as the look she was giving me. How rediculous is this?!! I can not believe the treatment I received by this so called "Manager". I could understand if I were committing a crime but I clearly was not. Horribly understaffed, the District Manager even has her office at this CVS yet not anywhere near enough employees work here. I used to really enjoy shopping at Longs Drug Stores. When they were bought out by CVS, I really didn't think much of it, because aren't most drug stores pretty much the same? Now, a couple of years later, I know better. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this chain became one of the biggest in the country. I can NEVER find the products I want there, the employees are always either rude, incompetent or both, and then there are those pesky lawsuits against the company for knowingly selling expired products (including eggs, cold remedies, prescription meds and infant formula) in at least four states. Oops. Last week I went in to purchase three items. There was one checker and five people in line ahead of me. The checker called for "second checker" three times and no one came. Soon the line was nine people long, and still no one came to help the poor girl. Then, the front doors opened and a young man in a CVS vest came in carrying a soda. "Finally!" the checker said under her breath, and the two of them continued to have a discussion about how overworked they were and how the manager should be up there helping them. (Really? How about you put down your Red Bull and log into a register, Bonehead?) So today, I went back for a thermometer (only because my 11 year-old was home sick and CVS is the closest pharmacy to my house). I didn't see them right away, so I asked the pharmacist. She told me where they were supposed to be, but guess what! They were out. There were about six empty hangers where they were supposed to be, but all of them were empty. Really? A drug store that has no thermometers? Wow. I am now a loyal customer of Rite Aid. read more

Review is for pharmacy only. Having just moved to the area I needed to transfer my prescriptions to this location. I called not once but twice to make sure everything was taken care of and that my prescriptions were available for pick up. I get to the pharmacy only to be told they are on hold at your old pharmacy sorry. Uhm what? I called to make sure everything was completed twice!!! Then only after I suggest that they call so they attempt to call my old cvs to try and fix the problem. Will be switching to Walgreens. read more

Can't speak for the pharmacy department, but I can speak for the rest of the store. The place is kept very clean and the staff (most) are very friendly. Maybe it's because I don't come in at peak hours sometimes, but when I come to this store I'm usually in and out in about 5-10 minutes (depending on the amount of things I purchase). The only downfall is the limited amount of parking in this shopping center. Otherwise, it's a great store. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Thanks for the seizures. I have never had any major problems with MY prescriptions, but I live with someone with epilepsy so I'm responsible for picking up hers since she does not drive. Over and over, one after the other, this CVS has dropped the ball, leading her to go through benzo withdrawal and have seizures. They say something is going to be done, then when there's a problem, they don't even bother to call, so I have to drive over, stand in line, and get frustrated when they don't have it ready. They blame it on insurance, they blame it on drug companies, they blame it on everything but themselves -- they even said for one very expensive anti-seizure drug that the drug company didn't send them any refills because the generic version was just being released... Well guess what, the generic version is made by ANOTHER COMPANY, so obviously that company isn't going to send it. The company that makes the original will always send it because they like money. If a pharmacy is going to be out of an anti-seizure medication, they owe it to their customers to do their diligence to make sure nobody is going to have drug withdrawal and have to go to the ER for a seizure. In addition, the man who I believe is the head pharmacist (I don't remember his name but he's fairly new and is from Africa) went beyond his job description. I drove another friend who is disabled to pickup a prescription he received from the AG emergency room. The pharmacist looked him up and down and told him "The doctor had to call to approve it." What kind of crap is that? You bring a prescription, the pharmacy fills it. END OF STORY. The worst pharmacy to call ever! On hold numerous times for over 20 minutes. I can hear the phone get picked up and placed right back on hold. One of the employees picked up the phone started to ask if I ha any questions and before she could finish her sentence, placed me right back on hold. What is wrong with this place????? I've been without my blood pressure meds now for 5 days and still can't get anyone to answer the phone. And yes I went to the pharmacy and was told Tuesday. No calls,texts or info. And now still no one can pick up the phone. And yes still on hold...bs When I did go to CVS to inquire about my meds I placed a container of peppermint puffs on the counter to purchase. The Pharm Tech picked up the tub of peppermint puffs walked it over to and opened the used needles bin and threw them inside! I said excuse me that was candy I was going to buy. He stood there staring at it. I told him to leave it there. I know it does seem funny but it just shows the lack of customer attention and the lack of employee focus. I went in yesterday and while I was waiting at the counter of the pharmacy I noticed there was trash on the counters and on the floor on both sides of the pharmacy enclosure. The counters needed to be cleaned of grim and the cash register & scanner were grimy as well. There are a couple of mini fridges where some preparations are kept and I saw the supporting floor under them had rotted or otherwise was broken and coming apart. I expect an area where people are handling meds to be immaculately clean. I was shocked to see how carelessly the place was maintained. Come on team - get it together! read more

The manager Mikaela with Blue Hair is super rude and needs customer service training. I asked her one question "can you please tell me what aisle _____ on?" Before I could finish she cut me off and said "I am already helping another customer" and walked away to ignore me. I asked again "can you just tell me what aisle _______ is on?" She continued to ignore me until I got up close to get her name. I was appalled that this was a manager. The female manager pharmacist is out of line by making her own policies and not that of the company. She started she makes her own policies and there is no law that exists enforcing her to comply with her policies. She denied filling a prescription because it didn't have a diagnosis code on it. I have unfortunately been on the medication for 10 years. I would love not to be on medication. Despite my Physician and my Health Insurance approving the medication, she denied it. Now if she wants to be a doctor she needs to go to medical school otherwise she needs to follow recommendations of the doctor. Now I normally go to CVS in Pismo. Who by the way are awesome, except for Brian Tsai. Thank goodness he is gone. The treatment like a human being. They have not denied the same medication with out the diagnosis code, and I am a Physician myself. I have a doctor and I don't self medicate. I never abuse my medication, I take as prescribed by my doctor. My doctor finally called her for her to release the medication as or by my physician. I was waiting and she never informed me he had called. She was being very passive aggressive. She knew I was waiting and she took her sweet time. I was there for 2 hours waiting. People with real documented pathology by MRI and surgeries should be treated like drug addicts when we have never given any cause for it. I am so pissed off with CVS pharmacy I can hardly speak. I received a text that my prescription was ready to be picked up. I made a special trip and was told , no, you have none ready. I knew that one I had requested last Thursday was supposed to be ready today. The clerk checked again and said she would NOW put in the order. I told her I would wait. I walked around the store and as I returned to the pharmacy counter I overheard another clerk tell someone the pharmacist just left for lunch and would be back in an hour. I was the first person in line to drop off a prescription for my daughter, there wasn't anyone that could help right away, the guy I think was the pharmacist noticed me standing there, so I waited til he was able to help me. Next thing I know this guy came and walked right past me to the counter and the pharmacist went over to help him! I was shocked and upset! The guy had the pharmacist look up his information on medications and then had him call the doctor. Ended up standing there for 25 minutes just to drop off a prescription and the guy waiting in line behind me wasn't happy either! I have been using CVS for the past year to pick up my 86 year old father's prescriptions and I can't count the number of times, they weren't ready after I got the text notifying me they were. Because he has a host of health issues, some of them are crucial to have. Several times I had to call, go in, call again, call the Doctor (who always said they had called it in), go in again, just to have rude, snarky technicians and Pharmacists give you that look.You know the one. Dead eyes, slack jaw and the only thing they care about is when they get to leave. I tried talking to the manager, but she wouldn't get off the phone. I could hear her talking to someone in HR about hiring and interviewing people, and not in a kind way. Obviously the attitude comes from the top down. I'm happy to say I recently moved my prescriptions to Walmart and had wonderful service and better pricing. I highly recommend avoiding this store at all costs. read more

Pharmacy employees confide they are not able to improve things and fear for their jobs ( 2 have told me this personally!)... Retribution must be purposeful because prescriptions get lost, found, filled early when not requested and not on automatic refill... Transfers not possible on 2 different prescriptions. Meds available, then not available, then delayed, then paper copy of Rx not available to be returned. All this after a dispute & a complaint was lodged so it must be personal. I went to the CVS pharmacy for a flu shot. I stood in line forever at the counter for the flu shots and nobody ever chose to wait on me the entire time. I finally went over to the other window and stood in line there after waiting forever in the other line and being completely ignored. I finally got to the front the gentleman said he would help me so I could get the flu shot. Then after putting in all my insurance information he explained to me that he would charge me for the shot but I would not be able to get it. I stood there dumbfounded and asked him what he was talking about and finally he explained that they would gladly ring it up but the pharmacist was now leaving for lunch so I could not get the shot. I drove to the nearby Rite Aid and was immediately helped. I received the shot within a few minutes and they were wonderful. I will never go back to the CVS pharmacy. read more

Horrible store....shelves are not organized and product is minimal at best. Sale items are rarely stocked at all! Always out of items. The Pharmacy is the SLOWEST!!! Long lines and usually one very slow person helping customers. Then they have an issue with your prescription! YIKES And, wait time on the phone is horrific. Today, after a 3 minute hold time, someone comes on the line and says please hold...with no chance to say anything!!! After an additional 2 minutes, someone finally picked up the line. I have had longer hold times than this previously. THEN, it takes over 4 minutes more for them to provide a price on something. Walmart is MUCH BETTER!!!!! Even though it would be a longer drive. The pharmacy appears to have some real issues with prescription turnaround. They seem very nice but that is obviously not enough to get them a positive review. I have gone to Rite Aid for years and never experienced the slowness and apparent lack of attention to detail as I have at this CVS pharmacy. I went in on a Wednesday to have a prescription transferred from Rite Aid (due to a change in my medical plan which requires I use CVS). I needed the refill by Sunday so I figured I gave them plenty of time. I called on Friday afternoon to check on the prescription and the pharmacist said she forgot (really?) and would call Rite Aid right away. So after still not hearing anything I went back to the store on Sunday and the pharmacist on duty checked and said "who did you talk to?". This is when I always know there is a problem. He said that Rite Aid had still not been contacted but he gave me enough medication for one dose and said it would be taken care of. While I definitely appreciated his effort to at least give me something it is now Monday and I still haven't been contacted about the rest of the prescription. AND, while I was waiting for the partial refill there was another woman checking on a prescription that was promised on Friday and she had not received it as of Sunday either. The people are nice but management needs to figure out where the problem(s) is/are. This is not acceptable service for a place that provides needed medications. read more

Went in around noon and made photos. Came back around 3pm and picked up photos from Andrew. Took a look at photos around 5pm-supposed to have 75, only had 45. Went back, waited in line (again), and explained to clerk, Brooke. She wandered over, looked in a file, then did something to the photo machine and told me it would be a few minutes. Meanwhile, Brooke assisted several other patrons and the machine did not run. I could see a pile of photos right on top and they looked like the might be my missing photos. Stepped over to Brooke, and said 'those might be my photos on top and the machine isn't running anyway.' She grimaced at me and helped another person. I finally went back and asked her to call someone to help me, as all that needed to be done was walk 3 steps to the photo printer. She grudgingly went over and handed me the photos. A little customer service training might help. read more

One cashier should not be working at cvs . She has no customer service skills at all . I was waiting in line with 2 people behind me and the person in front of me was having difficulty paying for his merchandise . The cashier was very nice and called another cashier out . The new cashier seemed to be annoyed coming out to help . She said can I help the next person after seeing the line and instead the last person in line headed to the new line . I indicated to the new cashier that he wasn't the next person in line and she totally ignored me . I said it again and she ignored me .what great Customer service skills . She handled that customer then closed her register and proceeded to rush get her lunch and head out the door . After my review below, that was the last straw. I switched over to Rite Aid Pharmacy instead and haven't had a single problem. The issue that CVS kept me on hold for 20 minutes, and transferred me 3 times about? Rite Aid handled it without a single problem or hesitation! My prescription has actually been cheaper too. Also, I requested a refill of another prescription less than an hour ago and already got a text from Rite Aid saying it was ready. Tonight, I went in for an Ativan prescription as I was having an important diagnostic procedure the next day and I needed the medication to take prior to the procedure. I had handed in the script and an employee had said that the medication would take 10 minutes as it was only 3 pills to dispense. I walked around with both of my boys for 15 minutes. Then I went up to the long line and by the time I got to the desk it had been 20+minutes. I asked if they were ready. The guy then said that it would be another 15-20 minutes. I explained that I was told 10 minutes and it's been 20 and I had to be somewhere in a little bit. He then told me "you're not the only one getting medication around here." I then responded that I was aware but I was told something different. He "dismissed" me and called the next person. I went home for a little bit and then I came back an hour later before the pharmacy closes. He wouldn't make eye contact with me was very short and rude. After I paid I asked him what his name was. He yelled it's Jesse Ruiz, you should write it down so you don't forget it. I then asked him to speak with his manager and he laughed and said his manager wasn't there and waved his hand and said to go and talk to the manager up front. He then yelled have a nice night and laughing. There were 4 people that heard the whole altercation. I was incredibly embarrassed with his behavior and his lack of customer service. I went up to the manager who was so sweet and she gave me the district managers number. Working in customer service myself, I am in shock that he would treat a customer that way and belittle and embarrass them in front of people. Needless to say I will not be using this CVS any longer. Jesse needs to be talked to or there will be even more upset customers. Coming from the previous reviews I see a trend here. read more
