After paying for a new Rx for pain (knee replacement) online and ordering delivery , my Rx was cancelled without notification from CVS. If I hadn't checked status on their application I wouldn't have known. I called pharmacy, spoke to a pharmacist who was curt and rude. Now I'm waiting again for delivery . I used to love this pharmacy and have been supporting them since they opened many years ago. The store actually is great but the pharmacy is horrendous. Absolutely a Zero star facility. This is for the pharmasist (Shelby) that can't make eye contact, doesn't want to speak to a customer and can't apologize when there is a problem. I set up an online vaccination. Come in for the appointment and they say they don't do that vaccination there, I asked about anotehr and was tol the same (and that I shouldn't rely on the website). No expanation . I asked the person helping me why, and went to Shelby who just no. She approached me after I had stated I wasn't happy about scheduling this, taking time off from work and given ZERO reason or rationale, Shelby didn't even treat me like a person. She came over after I stated I would be leaving a review for the error and attitude, and reaching out to corprate. I CAN NOT stress enough how this is THEE WORSE CVS I have ever been to. This is not an assessment I am making by this one visit. I am so mad because it's the one that's closest to me and I forget to tell the hospital to change it. 1st of all, the woman eating at the register while helping you is distracting. So they rejected my prescription cause "I didn't have insurance," which I do, and they would have known if they called me. So then I get there and she has attitude about it while chewing food talking to me. Then I leave and come back for the meds. They are missing one, I called, she told me I have to buy it over the counter. Im wondering why they didn't tell me that while I was there. First she was trying to convince me that the doctor told me to buy it over the counter, until I told her that it was prescribed and she said she just now seen it after going to check again. The pharmacist hung up on me when I was trying to fill a prescription for a patient. This is unprofessional and unsafe for their patients.

People are not customer oriented. There is at least one pharmacist, likely 2 that are next to useless. The Afro pharmacist is not helpful at all, sarcastic, cuts you off, says "not my job" - why do they keep guys like that? Placed an order this morning around 10AM with him, it's in stock, but not ready until after 3PM...2 closed boxes of inhalation solution vials. Meaning, put both in a bag, type in Rx info, and instantly ready! And forget them seeing if any meds are cheaper with various coupons - bring your own if you have any, unlike Walgreen. They have become terrible and expensive. Fortunately most meds are via Caremark or walgreens. read more

The Trapelo location has become dirty inside and out, and the pharmacy staff is very rude and slow. I went to this CVS for YEARS, even though the Leonard St location is within walking distance of my house, because the store itself was way better stocked. I'd stand in line forever to pick up a prescription, listening to the phone ring over and over and over, with no one paying any attention to calls. Then everyone would have to watch the clock because they shut down for lunch! The store part was much better, but they always expected you to use self-checkout, which is a major turn-off. Recently my new primary care office accidently sent my refills to the brand new Leonard St location (in the Filene's building). Not wonderful, but way better than this location. This review is specifically about the Head Pharmacist at CVS #1848 located at 264 Trapelo Road in Belmont, Massachusetts. His name is Igoche Obute and if you're looking to be condescended to by someone with a supercilious attitude while he repeatedly commits HIPPA violations, then THIS IS YOUR MAN! This is not a one-off experience. I've been using this pharmacy since way before he was the pharmacist at this location and he's always been unpleasant to deal with and I've always been willing to just accept that he's a miserable man. But that all changed today when he seemingly wanted to let someone know while CVS may have an interest in their customers, he does not. And apparently, rules and laws don't apply to him. Long story short, I was there to pick up prescriptions and from across the pharmacy he rattled off the names of the prescriptions I was picking up with a callous tone in his voice and a deadpan expression on his face. I feel like that could be a HIPPA violation. I truly had no desire for the other 5 or 6 customers in line with me to know which medications I take and for what reasons I take them. I'm not the whiny crybaby Karen type and this is literally the first online review I have ever posted, but this was about as unprofessional as a person in his position could be and today I'm the one feeling irritable, so Mr. Igoche Obute, I sincerely hope you get the opportunity to see this review. You went through all that schooling, got your Doctorate, got your MBA etc.. And through all of those studies they never taught you how to respectfully interact with people?.. I want to add my list of woes to the reviews I am reading here today. This store is by FAR, the worst drug store In Massachusetts. I waited in line, had a surly clerk who couldn't tell me why he charged me $10 over the price listed on the shelf. I asked the manager to intervene. He told me to take the bigger size box and exchange it. Long story short, the manager of the pharmacy came over and argued with me for five minutes. I said just to take it off my bill, and I would go elsewhere. He said they don't refund money for allergy drugs. He begrudgingly ran my card and kept $3 of the amount, laughed in my face and said it was tax and I couldn't have it back. I just wanted out at this point so I left. I have checked my credit card and he did NOT return the money. He laughed at me when I left. I will have to eat the $30. He will never return it. But by all means, go anywhere else but this store. Terrible service. And I'm not just saying by normal CVS standards. Even by CVS's low standards, this is a terrible pharmacy. You'll wait for an hour to try to talk to somebody and nobody will pick up. You'll stand around waiting for a script no matter how long ago your doctor sent it in. (Why? They save money not filling them until they know you'll get the meds because their "stock" isn't really theirs. They essentially only buy the meds when they fill your script.) I recommend people consider the local owned pharmacy right up the street. read more

Be been coming to this CVS for over a year now. Yes the lines were long sometimes at the checkout but now they have the automated checkout so that shouldn't be much of a problem anymore. No complaints about the pharmacy. They always have like 6 people working back there so if a line forms at pickup they just open another register. They are generally pleasant and efficient at the pharmacy. They even give me my flu shot. If you are worried about lines try to go on off hours not right after work or late morning on the weekend. read more

If I could give this specific CVS a zero I would. This is the most poorly run CVS I have ever seen. I have attempted on three occasions to pick up some allergy decongestant medicine but it's nearly impossible because the pharmacy has notoriously long lines. If there is even three people in line for the pharmacy then it is best to leave immediately. The staff at the pharmacy is the lowest of the low and they will literally take ten plus minutes for each customer. So if you see three people in line, be prepared to spend the next 1/2 waiting. This is truly a terrible location due to the staffing. Definitely venture to any other CVS. read more

I go to CVS Pharmacy out of necessity, not choice. When I call them, I have to wait on the phone for 20+ minutes to get someone on the phone. Sometimes I wait longer, and nobody picks up. I've made several complaints to CVS but it hasn't improved. I've faced similar issues at 3 local CVS's. I really hope they improve their staffing to accommodate patients. read more

On Thursday November 2nd I had received a text message from the Pharmacy to notify me that my prescriptions were ready to be picked up. I arrive at the Pharmacy and 3 out of 4 prescriptions are ready.. The girl at the counter tells me it will take 15 minutes to fill the remaining prescription. An HOUR later I politely ask what the hold up is at which point the head Pharmacist says to me quite loudly and frankly very rudely across the crowded Pharmacy waiting area "You have been taking this PAIN MEDICATION for a very long time, I want to speak with your doctor before I let you have the prescription. At this point I replied to her by saying " I have been coming here for YEARS to get this medication there has never been an issue in the past & if I'm not mistaken you just broke 3 HIPAA regulations now that the entire store knows my name & what medications I am taking" To which she replied (hand to god this is NOT an exaggeration or a fabrication) "Look Ms. X@X@X@X@, I have had a long day, We are very busy My brain is fried and I am not filling this prescription until I get verification from your Doctor" I pointed out that the prescription being there combined with the fact that I have receiving this medication from this Pharmacy with a pain management contract should be sufficient enough. I also had to remind her that she is a Pharmacist & NOT a Physician.. Still she refused to fill the prescription and said "I tried to call the Doctors office and got no answer so I don't know what to tell you, Maybe try again tomorrow" At this point even the other customers in line behind me started to raise their eyebrows and make comments. I called my Doctor directly while I was in line and once he was on the line I leaned over the Pharmacy counter and handed her my personal cell phone & said "I have the doctor on the line, He would like to have a word with you" They had a very brief exchange of words at which point she begrudgingly filled the prescription and slammed it down on the counter with quite an attitude. It is now Saturday November 4th (2 days later) I will be going into the store today to request that management review the video / audio from my visit so that they can see first hand that this account of what happened is not exaggerated or fabricated to fit "My narrative" before I contact my lawyer for her breech of HIPAA regulations. Three doors down from this location is a lovely little Pharmacy called Belmont Pharmacy where I will be taking my business from this point on. I am also encouraging ALL of my friends, family, neighbors and ANYONE who has ever had an even remotely similar experience at this Pharmacy to do. Also, if you've ever tried to call this Pharmacy to ask a simple question then I am sure you have experienced the 45 to 60 minute MINIMUM wait time on hold to speak to a Pharmacist... Just went to the pharmacy with my mom to help her pick up a prescription. We waited and when picking up the script the credit card paid fell off the panel . My mom told the hurl behind the counter Krissy. She made a comment about her breaking it and to not talk to her while she was working. We tried to tell her we were only mentioning it so they could have it fixed. Again she made a rude comment. This person has no customer service etiquette whatsoever. She was extremely rude obnoxious and annoyed that we were asking her questions about a bag. Even when we were ringing up she just kept making comments under her breath about how she doesn't want to be talked to. We've been going to this pharmacy for over 15 years and never experienced such horrible customer service. As I was walking out I mentioned to her co-worker Marco who's the manager who then said to me well I think you were being rude too. We asked him if he knew what we were talking about and he said no . I then said well if you don't know what we were talking about how do you know we were being rude. We will not be going to this pharmacy or CVS anymore because of this disgusting service. The service and customer support at the Trapelo Rd Belmont CVS is the worst. For years this was my go to for many things prescriptions, make up, skin products, greeting cards, seasonal merchandise. But over the last year the "attitude" in this store has completely deteriorated. Obviously new owners came in and fired all the regular local clerks, hired people not from the neighborhood, people who have no idea about showing respect, e.g. managers who argue with customers, brusk treatment by said managers, prices that are incorrect AND no follow up on alerts for prescriptions being ready or not. I have been disappointed with the overall CVS experience here and at other locations, Arlington, Watertown and plan to move my prescriptions to Belmont Pharmacy right next door. read more

I will never go back to the cvs on trapelo. chronically understaffed and they don't pick up the phone. spent 3 hours trying to get a hold of them as did my doctor and another cvs trying to get them to release my prescription so I could get it filled elsewhere. Pharmacy is an absolute mess. Massive lines. Understaffed. Came on Tuesday to get a prescription called in on Monday. It wasn't in stock but was told it should be by Wednesday. No problem. Thursday I arrive and am told it's not in stock but they can find it at another location or order it. I wait at a secondary window 20 minutes for help with this. The same employee asks for my info again and magically the script is in stock. She says she'll fill it and call me up when it's ready. 30 more minutes pass with no follow through. I check back at the window for an update and a new employee says it's filled and ready, the original employee who I spoke with is in the back and says she called me up but in fact called the complete wrong name despite me having to give her all my info multiple times. I have to get back in their massive line to finally receive my 4 day late prescription after 1.5 hours in this hell hole. read more

So I've grown up near this CVS and ran into such a awful experience with the useless and careless staff, as someone who is a professional server I found there incompetentce breath taking. Bought a pair of headphones that where 20$ I try them on the make sure they work but I threw out my receipt In the trash. So they don't work and I try to return them and she gives me a 14$ refund slip instead of 20, cuz lowest sale price in the past 30 do days and it takes 5-7 days to clear... never wrote a Yelp, have 7 5star reviews on my service and hospitality. I went to this CVS with a prescription with a do not fill date marked for the next day. I asked them if they could fill it so I could pick it up first thing in the morning. I was told that they could not fill and hold it for me, I asked them could they put my prescription in the top of queue so that the pharmacist could fill it first thing in the morning. I was told that they have no way of telling the pharmacist to fill a prescription and if I left the prescription with them I could potentially have to wait 2 hours in the morning. So I took my prescription back and went to a competing pharmacy at the grocery store. A billion-dollar company like CVS does not have a method to tell the pharmacist arriving in the morning which prescriptions to fill from the night before? Come on, this is unacceptable. read more

CVS's in general have the same run of the mill products, so this review does not reflect any of that. My review reflects the utter diastrous management of this CVS. The lines...oh the lines. Horrible and disorganized lines where nobody knows if they are "next" and everyone is just jumping all over each other. Where most CVS's have ropes to separate lines or self check out to help with the clutter; this CVS does it the old fashioned way. Where you go in to buy a can of soda and end up staying 15 minutes because you are in line. The store is huge and beautiful, however they don't utilize their space. This CVS would REALLY benefit from self-check out machines and more employees at the registers. When the lines are extremely long, its usually one or two people only. There is maybe one extra employee walking around answering questions. read more

The option for no stars should be available because this pharmacy hits the bottom rank of service. This CVS is quite poor specifically with the Pharmacy. Every single time I've called, I've been on hold for up to an hour & more without speaking to anyone & whenever they do feel like picking up or make the time to address their phone is ringing, they don't have a professional phone presence; very quick to get off the phone & rude after waiting for so long. That's not cool. Now I understand they are short staff but this is a pharmacy off the main road where many people go to. The Pharmacy line will have 10-20 + people waiting to get their prescription spending an hour or more in line. They have to do better with their communication & at least refer people elsewhere so they aren't wasting their time there. The worst part is waiting in line for God knows how long just to be turned away for not having what you came there for. My suggestion is to just not have a pharmacy at this location for the best because I see why no one wants to works there & why there is 2 Pharmacists when there used to be 6. Terrible pharmacy experience. Walked in at 8:45PM, spent 10 minutes with the pharmacist discussing a prescription, during which time she refused to speak with my doctor on my cellphone to help resolve a dispute over generic vs branded medication. When I finally asked her to fill a smaller prescription so my daughter could get through the night, she looked at her watch and told me that she was closed. No apology, no remorse,. When I asked her if she could make an exception she simply turned her back and started pulling down the metal shades. There's a new locally-owned pharmacy that just opened next door. If you've been to one CVS, you've been to them all... But I do have to say, it was such a improvement when they installed the 3 self checkout stations. It really expedites the in & out process. The CVS located at 264 Trapelo Road Belmont has to be the worst managed store of the chain!! There is no manager listed on the front door and the pharmacy is a total disgrace‍ My surgeon called in a prescription last Friday and I went to pick it up on this past Sunday and was told it wasn't ready but would be in 15 minutes. I was not able to wait so I left. When my wife followed up on Monday with a phone call she was told they had to order the script and would be ready in another day‍ So the person waiting on me lied when in fact the actual medicine was not on site‍ The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission is transferring all retiree scripts to CVS effective July 1, 2023 and I feel very bad for the angst that these retirees will suffer if this chain can't get their act together in a big way! This experience is exactly why people like me go to a locally owned small pharmacy! read more
