The pharmacy staff here are incredible! It's night and day from other places I won't name. So friendly and polite, they're observant of dynamics going on near the pharmacy, they're active about following up with patients who have checked in. Rude staff, loss prevention officers who target the wrong people, customers who cannot communicate, and dirty, empty shelves. Everything about this place is low-class. You'll wait 30 minutes just to get a look from a pharmacist, and God help you if they don't get to you before their lunch break. But here's the kicker: there are many small, mom & pop pharmacies in the neighborhood where most customers would be treated so much better. I don't know whether all those dissatisfied customers go to CVS because they like it or because they have to. But how this place manages, I have no idea. read more

I go there all the time. Service is very good. If you are a regular customer, you get a lot of discount coupons. They do shut down the pharmacy for a lunch break, so you have to be aware of that. Sometimes, even if you request that they do not, they make up an order of a prescription that you take all the time before you call in a request for a refill. Unfortunately, due to theft, some items are locked behind acrylic panels and you have to press a buzzer and wait for someone to come over and open the display. The self check out machines are easy to operate. In all categories that I shop, the selection is large and satisfactory. The people behind the counter at the pharmacy are professional and caring, never abrupt. The people who administer injections are very good at doing that. read more

I've been coming to the CBS when this place was a Key Food at one time I've been living in the neighborhood for 40 years and I still find it the better drugstore than any other drugstore around this neighborhood Rachel Daniel Fatima Remi and all the other staff members are overbooked with so many orders but they get it done that's the main thing even the manager helps out I must say that this is one of the better Cbs because if you look around a lot of Cbs has shut down or became another store but this Cbs drugstore and store still keeps on fighting to stay alive is the best store ever drugstore and we should all work together because it's a small store for such a big community so if you want the best work done you have to have patience there sometimes you have to wait imagine going to the DMV that's a nightmare I have waited over two hours just to see my doctor so if I were you folks you customers take it easy on yourself we all got things to do and we all got places to go but when it comes to medicine there's no fooling around with it the wrong medicine Can't kill you so take it easy among yourselves because these people trying to do the right thing for you but patience is a virtual thank you very much enjoy your day Arturo Hernandez read more

This cvs always be looking empty, either they are cheap and don't reorder items or the employees are not putting up products. The shelf's always are empty. I was there earlier today and was at the advil isle, pressing the button for someone to open the display so I can get the advil. There was no reaponse, waited for 5 mins and ended up walking to the front to get someone. The store is always short staff the new manager looks like she is afraid to address any customers concerns. I've been coming to this CVS since 2002 and over the years their cleanliness, organization and customer service have all significantly improved. Special mention should go to the overworked pharmacy staff who are helpful and knowledgeable. Likewise the front of the store is understaffed and the associates here make a similar effort to be helpful but can only serve one customer at a time which causes a problem when one person needs help at the register and another at the self serve checkout. I dislike the CVS business model of jacking prices way up then having sales that end up lowering the prices 25-50%. I mean what is their original price markup? Even more I resent that they send you 30% and 40% off coupons that you can't use on the items that are on sale in the store for only 20% to 25% off! On the plus side, CVS sends out consumer feedback surveys so they may have an interest in improving! read more

I'm Really disgusting and sad how I was treated today me and my friend entered cvs looking for a few nyx makeup products which we only found one. So we decided to have a look around for a few only to be met at the register by cops and over hearing the manager say that we had put stuff in our pockets. It doesn't take a expert to understand that good customer service is what helps a store not accusing people of stealing when you haven't even ask them if they found everything okay or even ask if we needed help. This is the closest location to me so I visit it often. The customer service is fairly decent and employees are typically helpful. They highly promote self checkout over here because there's almost never anyone at the registers and usually a line. The isles are never really organized and it's hard to find what you're looking for. I really only come here to use my 40% off coupon (on non sale items) since everything is overpriced anyways. They give you a receipt filled with useless coupons. read more

Overall, very poorly managed and poorly stocked. The pharmacy pick up / drop off line is routinely catastrophic and the even when the line isn't there, the service is abysmal. You will stand there alone and wait for no apparent reason. I once had them close the pharmacy counter gate on my face at the last second, and I implored them to allow me to pick up a prescription that I said I needed to sleep. One of the worst excuses for a CVS i have ever seen. It was very low stocked , not well kept and the associates are rude and arrogant. I passed by two of them and said hello to which they totally blew me off The cosmetic area is atrocious. I watch another associate do some inventory and works not straighten up the area as she worked .it felt like they did care , they took no pride in maintaining their store. This place blows big time!! I ONLY go b/c its in my neck of the woods and their prices seem to be lower than duane reade etc. Always disorganized and chakka chakka in here. Things are thrown down in any ol' fashion, boxes always around the aisles with items waiting to be stocked. The self service is useless b/c 1 is always malfunctioning. Everyone seems to be on break most of the time. I was soooooooooo pissed off I wrote to the head company. They actually responded and said they would look into in. On a crisp spring day the sun's wings spread over our dormant city. Mother Nature's smell burst through the air preparing to heal us from another scentless winter. I looked out my window and contemplated. Maybe I no longer needed my meds, I thought. But I had a prescription to pick up and a 30 minute walk to my CVS was a nice way to buy the day's tick tock. I approached the counter without my usual awkwardness. This is the last time we'll meet like this, I tell the pharmacist. I'm happy now, flashing her a smile to prove this newly minted, born again, naturally joyful me. She hands me my last batch of freshly baked capsules. They're the same bright light blue as they always are. Like the color of a cheery blue sky or blueberry Fun Dip. I left the conveniently located back corner drug section, but before exiting the store I double backed for the candy aisle. 2-for-$3 sour patch kids felt like an ideal accompaniment for the walk home. When I went to checkout I noticed four vacant counters. Where were the usual employees? An attendant approached me and waved her hands towards a new section of six shiny robotic self-checkouts. I presume the once "essential" workers got laid off for this new collection of faceless machines. It took me five minutes to deal with my monotone computer and I wasn't allowed to leave without a plastic bag.  It was a parting gift from capitalism's death grip on society and the environment. Clouds started forming over the city and my once pleasant day switched shades to the bleaker side of spring. My sour patch kids now seemed like an over indulgence. I've been using this CVS since I moved to Ocean Parkway six years ago and I have to say that this place is the absolute pits I take a number of different medications and there are consistently mistakes in my orders or in how I am charged and it is almost impossible to reach them on the phone I am writing this review right now because I have just spent (according to the call time on my cell phone) 67 minutes (over an hour) on hold trying to resolve an issue with a prescription refill It makes me sad to write this review because some of the individuals who work there are very good people but the store absolutely sucks I've been using it for all these years because it's the only major pharmacy within five blocks of my apartment, but I've decided - no more I'm done with this place !!!! This CVS is always understocked, the front area is poorly organized so the lines are always a mess, and the Pharmacy is poorly run. The head pharmacists don't seem to know how to use the systems and make mistakes with prescriptions. The other pharmacists and sales associates seem to do the best they can but there's not much they can do under poor management. The most unprofessional pharmacy staff I've ever seen and I've worked in the medical field over 40 years. Went to pick up a prescription (2 medications) for a loved one, the Indian woman at the counter gave me only one. When I asked about the second prescription she said she only had one. Before I opened my mouth to say anything else she told me to step aside and called the next customer and refused to address me. The pharmacist was even less helpful refusing to speak to the doctor whom I had called and had on my phone. She was also very dismissive of me. My doctor called the pharmacy and no one would pick up the phone. I had to literally start yelling and asked them to answer the phone because the doctor was trying to call and they refused. One associate finally came to my aide after I became very upset and asked for the doctor's # and called him, only to find out the prescription was there all along. I was directed back to the Indian woman to pay, she slapped the medication on the counter and told me to follow the que on the pad. I inserted my credit card for payment but was not given a receipt. The woman had walked away and when I told her I didn't get a receipt, she returned extremely agitated. Apparently she had not pressed whatever buttons she needed to press so that I would be able to print one. When the receipt did print she pulled it out and slapped it on the counter at me. I asked to speak to the manager and complained about this employee's behavior and was told that they have received many complaints about this women, yet she is still employed there. The behavior displayed by this woman amd the pharmacist are absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. If at all possible, avoid going to this CVS at all cost. I always go to this cvs and buy snacks there, but I've been wanting to get a covid vaccine for the past 3 weeks and they keep canceling my appointment. But that's not the worst thing, they cancel it the day I'm supposed to get it. They don't tell me couple days before, or a day before, they tell me the day I'm supposed to get the vaccine. This is a fascinating place. I feel like the employees are really good people who are being held captive by the evil computer that operates the store. I want to save them! But I can't, I can't, I have to buy some toothpaste and gum. Yes, there are often technical issues with the self-service checkout machines. Some human beings do not interact very well with them, and then they go on strike. One time I was busy checking myself out and this batshit crazy woman threw a box of hair bleach across the self checkout area and stormed out, ranting, because she had to wait for so long in line. Saturdays and Sundays are particularly brutal. One Sunday I was waiting in line for the self-checkout machines - the line was pretty deep, and no human-operated registers were open. This elderly lady behind me said loudly, to her daughter and granddaughter, "Why only these machines?" The granddaughter said "Bubbe, please, be quiet," to which the elderly lady replied, "I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A THING IN MY WHOLE LIFE. IN MY WHOLE LIFE." I'm with you, Bubbe. read more

I am not gonna pretend I will never come here again. In fact, I come here several times a week, but only because my little neighborhood is not yet gentrified and I have no other options. Plus, I go thru fake eyelashes like water, and for some reason they are relatively well-stocked. I am actually unsure if the problem is the employees or the other patrons. I am normally a huge fan of self check-out options but this one is forever painful. It's just NOT THAT HARD. It can't be... I have to say that over the past several months I have seen improvements here. (Did they get a new manager?) -The yucky carpet was replaced with grey carpet squares last year. -The store was slightly re-organized. -It's CLEANER and not as cluttered! -There is a greeter at the door who welcomes you and also says goodbye. (not really necessary, but a nice touch). As always, I have found that the employees that work there are nice and have been helpful to me whenever there is an error with their self-checkout machines. They've called me to tell me my prescription is ready, when I go pick it up they say it's not available. I've waited upwards of 25 minutes on the phone waiting for them to answer the phone. I agree with everyone that the store is a complete shitshow. I haven't done anything here but use the pharmacy and I have had positive experiences with the pharmacy staff. They were patient when I didn't have my insurance card and they had to call my old pharmacy to get that information. And whenever my prescription is in, I get a phone call and an email reminder. The staff in the pharmacyt seems competent and attentive. The rest of the store is really gross. Kids running everywhere, people just loitering in the store like it's a hang-out, shelves a mess or not-stocked, and there's only self-checkouts. So avoid all that stuff and just walk straight back to the pharmacy. read more

As a normally great defender of customer service workers, I gave the pharmacy staff at this CVS way too many chances before switching pharmacies and having to physically yell at them over their blatant incompetence. I understand that mistakes happen. But once it becomes a life-disrupting pattern, something is seriously wrong. Multiple times I have called this pharmacy to refill a prescription, am told it will be ready, and then arrive to pick it up and find that it is not ready at all. Once, they just straight up forgot to order it. Last month I was told "not to be upset" and that "it was my doctor's fault, not theirs." Bitch, you try missing a pill when you have epilepsy, and tell me again not to be upset. It must be easy to screw up when you don't have to suffer the consequences. Yesterday, I conversed with the pharmacy twice, and was assured, TWICE, that my medication would be ready the next day. Low and behold, today they have not even begun to refill the prescription. One woman was helpful enough to direct me to another CVS 40 minutes away that has my medication in stock; now it looks like I will have to make hour-long treks once a month since the substance is controlled. I'd rather do that than return anyway. The moral is this: Don't trust these guys; they don't even care enough to admit to their own issues let alone, I don't know, do their job correctly. And to CVS: If you work at a freaking Burger King maybe you can afford to mess up one or more orders. If you work at a pharmacy, this is people's health you're responsible for. This is my neighborhood CVS. Well, I really do not know where to begin. So here goes... CONS The store is not always very orderly. They FORCE you to use the automatic checkout. WTF? No one is EVER at the counters to assist. The greeting card section is ALWAYS mislabeled. (wrong cards in wrong places) The dairy items are sometimes spoiled. (Yogurts and milks) The lines are usually VERY long due to people being forced to use the automatic check out and not everyone speaks English or Spanish who uses them. The pharmacy only stays open till 9pm. The pharmacy ALWAYS has a LONG wait and LONG line. Usually what you want that is on sale is rarely there. Be aware of the phone cards. I've bought a few from there and they were no good. Cant even get your $$ back. The photo machine is always broken...makes you want to go Walgreens on Church ave instead. PROS The store is open till 12 midnight. Always a sale going on (finding that item is another story) The pharmacists are nice. Not hard to find someone to help you. Not a bad CVS, but you think of your neighborhood pharmacy to be there for some convenience. So, its not a great CVS either. Mediocre. The crazy part is...I have spent loads of $$ in this place and I keep going back. I must be a glutton for punishment. read more

Don't see why people hate this place so much. Sure, there's only one cashier ever ringing people up (there are only two registers in total) but I much prefer checking myself out at one of the four self check out booths unless someone who is totally unfamiliar with how to work those things is there before me. There's always a worker there to oversee people though and try to keep things flowing. I also can never find anyone to help me in the aisles (seems short staffed) but the signs above the aisles work just fine for me to locate what I need. Also, yes the store is kind of dingy but it's close by and there for me in a pinch. Finally, parking is the worst unless you come on a sunday - but there doesn't seem to be an army of cops waiting outside to issue tickets (I've never gotten one) if you pull up and run in. I mean, it's no better or much worst than other CVS pharmacies that I've been in. read more

I never did mind the overall pharmacy. It's just a pharmacy... Until today... I had a prescription prescribed to this pharmacy and oh my goodness let me tell you... The pharmacists are a wreck. They told tell me to wait 5 to 10 minutes... To be fair, I looked around and waited about 15 minutes instead... For starters, they need more than one person where you pick up medications... That line was huge! Then after the 15 minutes, I get on that long line only to be told that they couldn't find the medication.... So they tell that they have to find it... In the mean time I wait.. No one is looking for the medication!!!! Two of them were just trying to get rid of the line, which is fine... While the other one was just wondering around.. I wanted so bad to just ask them to print out my rx and go somewhere else... And that's coming from a patient person. It took two people to find my medication. He explained the different vaccines we needed, and why, and was extremely patient with us. Unfortunately he's only a cover, but deserves to be full time !!! Been coming here for years and usually received my prescriptions within reasonable time. Longest would be 24 hours if they had to order it and they would give a reason. This past year or two, a big rude male always there Monday to Friday is never ready with my day BEFORE prescriptions.
