Slowest drive-thru pharmacy in the world. It's wild how long it takes a single car to get through this drive-thru.

The non CVS in California is so bad. I have been about 10 times and every time they are rude. Was standing in front of the counter for maybe 5 mins. One of the females was WORKING behind the counter. Closed the gate door thing in my face and says in a rude tone we are closed. If you can avoid this pharmacy do it. The one in target is 10x better. I wish I could give negative stars read more

Yummy. And while you're there don't forget to wait in an interminable line for your prescriptions. Gosh darn it, someone forgot to fill it beforehand... whoopsie daisy... that sucks. I was denied my Covid and Flu vaccine appointment by this pharmacy. I presented my healthcare insurance, my prescription card with Express Scripts and my valid Maryland Drivers License as identification. I had my previous vaccines at this exact location in May by a lovely African American pharmacist/nurse with my husband. Yesterday the new Nigerian pharmacist and his Nigerian co worker refused my appointment, but accepted my white husband's appointment for both the Covid and flu vaccines. My husband and I have the exact same insurance and prescription coverage. At first the pharmacist couldn't locate my appointment, then he said I did not have an appointment for both only Covid vaccine, and then later he escalated to saying that my insurance refused coverage for the Covid vaccine. Each time he said, not to blame him. I was calm initially, but as he further escalated each denial with a new explanation, I lost my cool. I was very upset. My insurance coverage has NEVER been an issue at any point in my life. We contacted our providers and discovered that BLue Cross Blue Shield did not cover vaccines, that Express Scripts did. Express Scripts saw no issue with my account status and fully supported that I receive a Covid Vaccine, and that the Flu shots were free to anyone that asked for one. All of my conversation with Express Scripts and the behavior I witnessed at this particular pharmacy, each person that presented to this pharmacist that lookd like me, seemed to have trouble negotiating their transactions. Each African American I saw walk up to the counter was denied their transaction for differing reasons. The manner of how my appointment was first mysteriously not visible, but I was able to check in on my phone for both vaccines, then the pharmacist seemed to locate it, but not for both vaccines, then he suddenly found that my insurance refused coverage because my identification didn't match their records. He did not need my health insurance for this vaccine and he had my Express Script card in his hand. The flu shot is available to anyone that wants it. Just two weeks prior I had prescriptions filled with the same information at a neighboring CVS. My white husband had no issues with his appointment, which I made for him. I additionally want to point out that there was a gentleman at this CVS who did treat me well. The store manager, a very tall, kind man did try to speak with us. He was kind to us the day prior. He was engaging, had a warm sense of humor. He represented the brand of CVS very, very well. _______ Update: September 27, 2023 My husband and I rescheduled our vaccines at the Solomons Island CVS at 13390 H G Trueman Rd. They mysteriously had no issues with my appointment or my husbands. They did not try to tell me that my insurance company denied the vaccine, or that they could not find my appointment. They quickly located my appointment for both vaccines and provided them without incident along with my husband. This CVS is located over the bridge a good distance away from Three Notch Road. I sincerely hope that others that have been denied service at Three Notch Road are as able to locate more competent and cordial pharmacy workers. read more

I used to go to CVS Leonardtown. Moved to California and now used the one on the corner of Buck Hewitt. Compared to Leonardtown or Solomons, this location feels like it was left back 20 years ago. It has a dreary decor and feels dingy. I have been here a year and a half and still have various issues with getting my card to stay on file (this has gone on for several months), getting prescriptions approved (a phone call between the pharmacy and doctor would be faster than having me as a go between - that is crazy), and trying to get the system working half as well as it did as when we went to Leonardtown. (Maybe that is all we can hope for.) I am at the point where I am going to bite the bullet and transfer over to Solomons, even though it is a longer drive. It would be worth it because they have a better staff, a better store and MUCH less hassle. There are other CVS stores nearby (like in Target) without a drive through. I just want that convenience. Is this CVS worth going to? I could not recommend it unless they remodeled and did a real staff overhaul. This particular manager doesn't care. read more

I just stopped by about an hr ago (Saturday 10/29/22) for giftcards as I normally do when I am in town for birthdays or the Christmas. I walked in the store and I only saw an employee standing in the middle of the floor. There were no other no other people around only a woman and her child who were exiting the store. I went to grab a giftcard for my mom's birthday.. When I noticed the male employee but kept looking in my direction trying to pretend that he was looking down the Christmas aisle. Once I decided on a card, I made my way down the Christmas aisle to check out some of the decorations and seasonal items that are put out as gift options. That's when I notice them still lingering and I decided that I wanted to continue to browse so I walked towards makeup and backup to the front of the store which is what I always do. After deciding I didn't want to impulse shop and be followed around the store I went to the self checkout. The male employee exited the store as I was approaching the front, the female employee went behind the registers. I went up to the 1st self check out register scanned my card, entered the dollar amount for the card, and then guess who comes around from behind the registers at that very moment to refill the bags on both checkout stations--- you guessed it. The employee who'd just walked behind the registers. I don't like being watched or followed around any store. When I am in town, I will find somewhere else to grab my gift cards from here on out. To management: Tell your employees that it's dumb to watch someone who is shopping for gift cards. Money has to be added in order for the cards to have value. read more

Customer service is below average at the Three Notch Road an Buck Hewitt location. Staff doesn't have a clue that they are servicing people who are sick. Some of the Pharmacists are down right rude. The majority of their customers are elderly and I have witnessed they are treated with disrespect and contempt. This CVS needs a big cleanup inside and outside. I've been in other CVS's that are clean and tidy and great customer service. It will be worth my traveling elsewhere. read more

This place would get 5 stars for a CVS for the regular employees. They're all chill and just trying to get by. They don't have issues accepting coupons and will answer your questions politely. It gets 1 star for the store manager Lynn. If you see him coming towards you, you might as well leave because he just has a way of making you feel like it's your fault. Doesn't matter what it is or if it's nothing at all. He's always rude, knows it all, and jumps on you for the smallest of things. My wife has had some rough experiences with him but my last experience with him warranted this review. Read below if you'd like the story. Otherwise just watch out for the manager and the CVS will be fine for your basic needs. I bought three packs of premade baby formula. My kid had been eating the powder based but we bought the premade 8 pack of 2 ounce containers because of a sale. Even though they were the same formula it tore his stomach up. We could only return some of the boxes since we opened one. I came back to the store, explained that I just wanted to return them(with receipt) to a money card because I literally wanted to just buy the powdered kind right after the return. The employee is nice and starts the transaction. At the end he needs the manager approval. The manager come down and starts eyeing the boxes while the employee is explaining the situation to him. The manager is like well you might as well finish it. We're not allowed to take back formula. It's against state law. Then tells the employee you have to damage them out now. They're wasted. Walks away then comes back to the front of the register where I'm at and says "make sure they're not expired." Which I reply, I just bought them I hope they're not expired. The employee says one expires in December and the manager says well this one expired in October hmmm. I'm thinking, like I can control when they expire. That's still months and months away. As the manager walks away he just looks at his employee and says don't do that again. Remember it's illegal. Yeah. I was just a little frustrated at him. What makes this pharmacy the worst CVS I have ever dealt with is a certain pharmacist that works there. I believe his name is Eric. Every month my prescriptions are electronically sent over to this place. This pharmacist either doesn't like me and instantly judges me because of the controlled substances I am prescribed, or he is just terrible at his job. My prescriptions were sent over around 2:30 p.m. and here it is now past 7 p.m. and they still are not ready. Maybe its a racial thing. I have no idea, but this is just completely rediculous. He does this every single month and i trully believe he does it on purpose. I started off at the other CVS in lexington park but they never had my medication in stock. All i know is he needs to go. They need a new pharmacist. One who cares about his patients and treats them better. I could understand if this happened once in awhile but every single month...come on now. Something is wrong here. The only reason i stay is because they always have my medication in stock. If i ever find a better pharmacy i will move on. Until then i guess i have to deal with this BS. Ughh. ​ read more

It's one of the better CVS'S I've been in. It's very clean & organized. They have a wide variety of products. Their make-up department is great. A wide selection of brands & the nail polish selection is great. The food department & cleaning department is a bit sparse which it ok with me. I don't go there for groceries any way. The employees are very friendly & helpful. If they don't know the 3-W's "What, Where, & why" They get someone who knows what's going on. I haven't had to wait to be checked out, in both the store or the pharmacy. It's a great CVS. read more

This CVS is better than the one on Great Mills.Rd. But that's not saying much. Beverages are inconveniently place way in the back, which is annoying if you want to rush in real quick like and grab/go. The pharmacy is pretty busy, so you'll have to wait a bit for your prescription. The staff is super friendly. It's hard to get back north on the 235 from this side of the road, so you'll have to budget a few more minutes if you're not continuing southbound. I'd give it 4 stars if not for the inconveniences. read more

I made two trips to CVS Great Mills and all they can do is tell me that my insurance card is not validated in the system. That bitch could have just got on the phone to let me know yes or no and that they are closing and give me tomorrow's hours. Anytime I have sometime to pick up "it's never ready". Started using this pharmacy because of location. But not worth it. Eight days after putting in my rx, I had not received a call saying it was ready for pick up. I called to ask and was told it needed pre authorization... Not sure what that meant but it couldn't be filled without it. I called my doc and he said cvs needed to fax info to him. I called cvs and Doc took care of it. Why they didn't call me or fax doc office when rx was submitted, I don't know. Then they call to tell me they are out of stock and it will be available in three days, after 4pm. The Lexington Park, Hollywood and Solomons locations are also close, but I had to request that they find out if the other stores had it in. They should of offered that. I will be switching back to Target pharmacy. read more
