I am in this CVS very frequently. The Pharmacists are so friendly, informative and very compassionate. The check out clerks are so accommodating and so sweet. I wouldn't use this pharmacy unless you absolutely have to. There are far better Pharmacists at other CVS stores in the area. The male pharmacist has no customer service sense and is very unfriendly. He will not acknowledge the line of people attempting to pick-up their prescriptions. He is also snarky and curt when you actually speak to him. CVS can do better. This guy needs an attitude adjustment big-time. read more

The employees at this CVS have never NOT been completely rude. It was initially difficult for me to swear the location off becasue it's so close to my office, but I've been making the effort to walk down to the Walgreen's on Washington, and it's well worth it. Unlike this CVS location, they're polite, efficient, ask you if you want a plastic bag or not, and never take it as a personal affront when you try to get cash back. read more

This review is specifically about the pharmacy at this location. I use this drugstore because it's across the street from my office, but that's about all it has going for it. I don't think I've ever once had a doctor call in a prescription here that was actually ready when I went to go pick it up. It doesn't matter how long I wait from the time my doctor calls it in--could be an hour or 4; it's still not ready. The main reason for this seems to be that they only listen to the call-in messages when a customer shows up and says "my doctor called it in." Then they listen to the messages and then proceed to fill the prescription. This seems pretty inefficient. Can't they just listen to the messages at regular intervals rather than being prompted to do so by a customer? I'd rather not have to keep going back to see if/when the prescription will be ready to pick up. read more

Great location. Between apartment and work I am now covered in terms of CVS-ness (CVS-ocity?), so much in fact that I even took the plunge and signed up for a CVS extra care card. Between my chocolate forays and bumble & bumble splurges, I will earn my CVS bucks in no time. The selection of cleaning supplies is great and the pharmacy generally provides a prompt turnaround, with much less paperwork and card showing than what usually takes place at Walgreens. Bonus points for having actual cashiers versus the unreliable self checkout machines (of which there always seems to be at least one inexplicably down no matter what CVS location I happen to visit). This location boasts a range of travel size products, a boon for the frequent flier or visitor in town who needs to replenish. The spirits are also a bonus--between the plentiful yellowtail selection and the mac and cheese for dummies (easy mac, I believe) I will be all set for the hibernating months. read more

Terrible... I went in there to get a prescription filled. They told me they couldn't fill it till tomorrow because of my insurance. I asked them to confirm i could get it filled tomorrow because i was going out of the country and this is a necessary prescription. "Yes, we can fill it tomorrow no problem" was the answer... I try and fill it the next day and what do you know, they can't fill it till Monday now (after i leave on my trip). They are terrible uncaring people... just go to Walgreen where they are upfront, honest and the stores are clean and well stocked. Well if I didn't already dislike CVS, my experience at this particular store just now has turned it into hatred. And I don't use that word lightly. I witnessed a cashier having a confrontation at the registers just minutes ago. I get it, a lot of customers are rude, but it is your job to take it with a smile and get that customer out as soon as you can. In the retail business, it's just something you have to take in stride. This CVS woman, did not get the memo... The confrontation goes on with some arguing between the two parties and ended with a loud "FUCK YOU" from the CVS cashier. I stood there, rather shocked and looking around to see other reactions. Customers looked bewildered, other CVS staff just looked at one another and shrugged. I usually don't like to "tattle" on a person, but I felt this was appropriate. A customer service employee was observing the registers, so I approached her and asked if she had heard the exchange. She simply said "yes" and looked away. I asked her if she thought what happened was appropriate and she answered "no". I asked if anything was going to be done and her response was "that's the supervisor". The cashier was the supervisor. Cool. Enough said. I hope CVS corporate reads this and fires that woman who is supposed to be supervising the store. Oh and of they do, here's a reference: large African American woman in a white coat. Not the brightest or the nicest of cvs locations to shop. Your cvs card won't work most times. The staff seems confused and rude (or confused by their own promotions). If you can, go somewhere else. They have the same stuff everyone else has for about 20% more so no rush. Go elsewhere. read more

Went in with my arm in an obvious cast and the pharmacy filled my prescription in pill bottles with child-proof caps that would be nearly impossible to remove even with two functioning hands. Yes, my fault for not asking but why don't their bottles have dual-function caps like Walgreen's? Major customer service fail. I met a woman who said she just puts a towel over pill bottles and smashes them with a hammer. That's one solution I guess. read more

easy access for me since I work in one of the buildings attached to it, but the staff here is pretty rude. They do tend to have everything in stock when I need it and to fill a prescription is easy and I would say the pharmacy staff is pretty nice. Long lines at the end of the work day so I suggest to go during "work hours". They also just put in 2 self check-out stands but every time I come down they are out of order. If you plan on getting cash back from the register the limit used to be $35 now its down to $25. Don't know why, but maybe they should change their sign at the register instead of putting in $35 and getting yelled at. read more

This place is absolutely god awful. I have even called corporate on them. The customer service is absolutely horrendous. The location is extremely small and feels dirty. They will not except certain coupons with no clear explanation. The employees almost act as if you are taking money from their pay check when you try to use a coupon. There have been multiple instances where customers have needed help at self check outs, but the employees are too busy having personal conversations to pay attention. I only went here because I worked so close. Never again. Word of advice: Go to the CVS next to the Aqua hotel. It is a world of difference there. read more

REALLY bad customer service - DO NOT go here. The staff here does not help you any more than is necessary EVER. The self-checkouts are always broken and the place is always crowded, which does not help. Unfortunately, it is the only CVS I was aware of that prints photos near my work. Today, I ordered some 8x10s that I needed for the weekend and I remembered a few weeks ago they were having some trouble with their printer. I had preordered online and I NEVER received a call, email or anything to indicate that my pictures would not be there on time. The supervisor (the only nice person there, I guess) offered to refund me for my pictures when I came to claim them the next day. I come the next day - not only is NO ONE at the photo station and so I have to get in line behind 10 people so I can pick up pictures I have already paid for, but as soon as I follow the cashier to the picture station - she tells me that I got out of line and so I will have to wait because I followed her!! Finally, I ask for the refund I was promised - because that one gleaming beacon of hope in that God-forsaken place is not there, the cashier tells me she won't give me the refund I deserve for putting up with all this. Back to today (I guess it's my own fault for going back there) there is apparently STILL a problem with their photo printer (even though they had somehow printed my headshots fine a few weeks ago??) and I STILL never got any notification of this fact. I admit the woman did try to help me (although that is her JOB), but she was rude, she would often argue with me, and she knew I was in a hurry but still completely wasted my time. In short, I am absolutely fed up with this place and implore you to find ANY CVS to go to besides this vacuous pit of awfulness! read more

I was unable to pay, as the store has disabled their NFC readers at the registers. Store employees were unsure as to the exact reason why my payment wouldn't work, and suggested "something must be wrong with cell phone towers in the area"; completely false, as NFC-enabled cards/Google Wallet/Apple Pay all work without a cell connection. I work near this store, but will no longer be doing any business here. read more

Came here to get my annual flu shot. Out of all the CVS Pharmacies I've been to, I enjoyed my experience here the best! I was immediately greeted & shown where to get my shot. I have had so much great service here that I wonder if the negative reviewers were someplace else. I always get a smile and hello from the staff and in one instance absolutely superior service. I had a huge order of that took me nearly 2 hours to crop, edit, etc. A 3rd of the way through printing them the printer ran out of paper and no photo-savvy employee was on duty--it was 9pm--and the manager tried everything he could think of including calling a technician from a another near-by store. The guy came and found there was something needed that would not be fixed until the next morning. I was so distraught after all thyat work for all that time but I didn't have to worry. The person helping me assured me they would print out the remainder of my order the next day after machine was serviced and hold my photos for pickup. And they did, for 2 weeks! Due to an emergency I could not get back for 2 weeks. I love CVS for this and many reasons. read more

Were it not for the pleasant pharmaceutical staff and a couple of knowledgeable pharmacists, I would have given this business one star. Poonam and Patrice are two of the very good staff people!!! Of course, you can never get them by request. Seems as though, very often, the staff gets shifted around from store to store. I go there for prescriptions, mostly, so that is the subject of my displeasure. Most of the time, the pharmacist is either unavailable or not knowledgeable. Today, I called twice within an hour. Both times, pharmacist was on the phone. I finally left my cell number for a call back. Got the call back an hour later. To make the experience more distressful, the pharmacist on duty didn't know the color of the pill I was prescribed, so I was on hold while he took forever to find the information. In the meantime, I went online and found the information, while I waited. The pharmaceutical staff is pleasant and accommodating. They even offer to deliver meds to me, without my asking. I like them, as people! If their knowledge base and their ability to deliver expeditious service were as great as their personal attributes, there would be five stars instead of two. read more

The two stars are for the convenient location since I live in Lakeshore East, otherwise I may have chose a half star if that was possible. The store is never fully stocked - empty shelves. When I shop the sales, there is at least one item that isn't available. The staff is not helpful - EXCEPT the older woman who works the front register. The younger people seem to not be interested in working. The pharmacy has made errors with my prescription orders. I SO want this store to be taken over by Walgreens! read more

I'm surprised to read all the negative reviews because I've always had good experiences with the Pharmacy here. Granted, I rarely buy things from other sections of the store and if you're coming here for toiletries, wine, snacks, etc. you'll definitely find a much better selection at the nearby Walgreens on state. But for prescriptions, I like it. They always fill things quickly and on time and I've never had any billing issues, even when dealing with prescription discount cards. They've also been great about calling my doctor when I need a refill. I also appreciate that even during the times of day I would consider prime time (i.e. right before and after work and lunchtime) there generally isn't a long wait. Occasionally you get stuck behind a customer who has a lot of questions or billing issues, but for the most part I get right in and out, especially compared to other pharmacy locations. read more

Worst pharmacy ever!!! The pharmacist think they are smarter then doctors. Every time I go there to fill my prescription they tend to give me and my doctor a hard time. They refuse to fill my meds till they inquire to see if my doctor really knows what she's doing. They pharmacists favorite line is I'm putting my credentials on it. Don't you think the Doctor is doing the same by writing the rx that you are questioning? The male is the only knowledgeable one there. The females especially the one that fills in on Sunday's need to understand that you are not a doctor just bc you wear a white coat or smarter then the doctors. read more

I wish I could pick 0 stars. Rarely do I take to Yelp to rate drug stores like Walgreens and CVS because it's usually the same quick trip for me. However after the experience I had today I had to comment. I went to this CVS yesterday for Christmas ribbon and didn't end up needing all of it, so went back today to the same location to return the rolls I didn't use. This should not have taken very long but I ended up spending my ENTIRE lunch break, over 40 MINUTES, waiting on the lazy unprofessional manager at this store. I understood having to wait 15 minutes for the manager to have to locate the receipt on the computer in the back because mine was hard to read due to the self check machine being low on ink yesterday. (Still, this was not my fault and this location probably should've been better monitoring ink levels for the machines.) However, it is NOT okay to send the new legible receipt to the front clerk who continued to check out other customers holding lengthy conversations before telling me she had the receipt. When the clerk finally told me she had the legible receipt and could process the return, she realized she had to page the manager for override. The manager took her sweet time getting to the front, making me wait an additional 20 minutes before coming to the front. The store was not busy so I really don't understand the delay. When the manager did show up, she asked the clerk "Did it work?" as if she had not heard the multiple pages for her (booming through the store's speakers.) The manager did not so much as apologize. The clerk did offer me an apology, which didn't mean much since she had largely ignored me and taken other customers after having the copy of my receipt. The manager should have handled this return entirely on her own. I am appalled at the whole experience and especially the lack of respect towards me by both the clerk and the manager. Having a return take 40 minutes is extremely unnecessary and frustrating. Though this location is conveniently located across from my work in the Aon Center, I won't be returning. The staff is incompetent and does not respect their customers' time. Save yourself the hassle and walk the additional block to the Walgreens. read more

This is a very weak store. Very expensive, poor check out situation (usually only self check out which works about half the time) and fair to poor management. I would skip this particular store. The store at Michigan and Lake is marginally better or go to Walgreens at State and Randolph which is full service. read more

I was going to print copies of photos and the lady behind the photo desk is AWFUL! Every single time... I think she has something against me... not sure what!? NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN!
