This CVS must be fabulous for all the residents living nearby! It's incredibly clean, well organized and has very friendly employees working there. It looks huge but they don't have the largest selection of some items which is surprising! However I was able to find something suitable (gold, sparkly nail polish called Game of Chromes hehe) so I was happy. They have a couple of self checkout machines which is a rarity at CVS but perhaps becoming more of a thing? The lady working was very nice & helpful! Quick, easy, breezy CVS Girl. read more

I called about updating my insurance because I was able to at my last location. The man I was speaking with on the phone couldn't take my information and could only do it in person. Okay that's fine. I didn't like his rude tone but I let it go because it must've been a rough morning for him or something. I started to ask a couple questions about my refill but he would speak over me and ask his. Almost every question was met with him talking over me. I gave up and stopped asking after the 3rd time just so we don't waste our time talking over each other. Very rude & such a lack of basic dialogue. I understand that it could get busy and stressful but he could benefit from a more polite approach. Hoity toity effective brands, like Dermalogica & Peter Thomas Roth, have found it's way on the shelves as well. MUA selections. STAFF have always been helpful, nice and thoughtful in a way that I was able to use restroom in times of desperation. Thank you! In tallness, he was able to find the MILANI brand on top shelf. Pharmacist refused to record my vaccination record because she did not feel like looking up the lot number herself, which...by the way...takes ten seconds and about five clicks on the keyboard. They don't cover flu shots with all insurances either AND the pharmacist is quite unhelpful. read more

Our CVS at Ashland and Division closed this spring and we were switched to this CVS on Ogden. So far I have been unimpressed. They don't seem to maintain an adequate inventory of prescription medications so we wait for days for a prescription to be ordered to the store and then ready for pick up. I'm going to look for an alternative because waiting for days for needed medications is a hassle with potential health consequences. read more

I just went in this store and they had absolutely no wrapping paper or tissue paper. I will not return again.

Recently I hit this spot to buy some food and pills as I had a terrible headache and this store was a pleasant surprise for me. It's open 24/7 so you won't be starving at night if it comes to this. Overall it was a nice experience I found what I was looking for and the staff was helpful and responsive to my needs. All employees followed quarantine guidelines and wore masks and gloves and it was also mandatory for all customers visiting this drugstore. I think it's great they all realize health is above all and provide best solutions for prevention the wide spread of COVID-2019. I' d like to add the store was clean and fresh and nobody stood behind your back watching each step of you like it might happen in some different places. I could easily check myself out and made my way back home. Nice spot. It's definitely not my final visit. read more

This may be the friendliest CVS ever. They have a door greater. This is also a large CVS. The parking here is not easy but it was manageable. Its one of those corners where 5 or 6 streets "cross" so its a busy area. Interesting to me, they also sell alcohol here, but I was there early in the am, so that was not relevant for me at the moment. They also carry pretty much everything else you find in CVS stores, and have a large pharmacy. The checkout was easy as well. Overall, this is a fine drugstore. read more

I got one of their automated refill phone messages in the morning today and went to pick up my prescriptions late afternoon. I was told that it'll be another 10 or 15 minutes. Another customer was told the same thing so obviously there is some problem with their automated system. Plus I usually bike here and go through the drive thru. They are no longer accepting pedestrians through the drive thru and people on bikes are considered pedestrians. read more

Compared to my last CVS on Kinzie and LaSalle this one is as awesome as a four day weekend. It's open 24 hours, there's a drive through, the staff is nice, there's a Coinstar machine, and they actually open the non self out check lane. Even though I actually did see a car drive through their front window (see pic) it's not that bad of a drug store that you'd want to do something like that. read more

The nice thing about this location is that it has a drive-thru. It makes it easy to drop off your prescription and then to come and pick it up later when it is ready. The only thing I hate is when you hit the call button and voice over starts talking to you. It says, "that someone will be with you as soon as possible." I am fine with that but the people working behind the window never look over and they will pretend like you are not even there. I guess it just feels non-personal but they eventually will come over and talk to you. The drive-thru will save you time...you can avoid the homeless person asking for money by the front door, the security guard profiling you and the long walk to the back of the store where you will always find someone waiting in front of you. As I continue to write this review am I wondering why I am giving them 4 stars because my comments seem a little negative. I am giving them the 5 stars based off of them always filling my prescription in a timely manner, always filling the prescription correctly and being able to drive in and out quickly. If you do go in...this place has a blood pressure machine, so you can check if you are still alive or about to die. You can also ask the pharmacist a few questions about certain over the counter drugs and if they will have any negative interactions with current medications you are taking. read more

The items were in stock for what I needed. Store needs a remodel kinda dark, creepy and eery feel when I walked inside. Employees eeeeh! I walked in an employee, a male was standing by the self checkout staring and not mumbling a word. You guys need to acknowledge the customer when they walk in, instead you sneak and trickle down the isles like your stocking a shelf and watching a customer and the thief is at the self check out and walking out the door. I realize you guys are under staffed. I am cordial and speak and make conversation but when a customer gives you 110%, please return the favor. It goes a long way. read more

Most unhelpful pharmacy, one time I needed to have my script transferred to another store because I wasn't going to make it there by 10 p.m to pick it up, the answer was no. Hmm Walgreens does it. Another time I was shorted 20 bucks in change at the drive through. Tonight, I guess the pharmacy closes at 6 or 8, I'm not sure but it seems early for a Saturday night. I will be moving my scripts for sure. Then since I was there I decided why waste the trip, better pickup milk, a line of about twenty people deep. Are you kidding me? So I put the milk back and leave. A note to CVS corp, this is the first of two reviews that will be both one star. Staff your stores with good hires, people hate lines and other weirdness. read more

Maybe it's because it's like a second home to me by now, but I have few problems with this CVS. I guess the ones I do have should warrant a lower star rating, but I just can't do it to them! The people who work there are insanely nice, at least to me, and anyone else who seems to engage them. I saw the first loud customer situation in 3 years today, where a girl was trying to return a phone and they wouldn't let her... She swore up and down and called the lady several nice names, and we later found out it was the third phone she tried to return... Anywho, The lines can be long, but usually move fast. It annoys me when people don't line up along the cassette tapes and photo area, and instead spread all out into the impulse-buy-table area; I mean, are you new or something? The pharmacist Anna I take my hat off she is great very attentive and professional greets the customer with a smile. Sweet baby Jeebus, this place is busy...at all hours of the day and night. Might it have something to do with those super nice, super-approachable pharmacists? I think it might. Last week, I probably would have written a scathing review. Then, I dropped off a prescription to be filled. I was swiftly informed it would take the pharmacy 20-30 minutes to fill it. Ok, that's fine. After all, there was a crowd of about 20 people hanging out in front of the pick-up counter and cars were busily streaming through the drive-through. You're busy. I get it. That, however, does not explain why it took me 1.5 hours to get my antibiotics. I'm perplexed. All one had to do was put 5 - count them, one, two, three, four, five - antibiotic pills in a little orange bottle, affix a label and hand over my gosh darned drugs into my greedy, grasping, and shaking hands. Yup, 1.5 hours. Today, I run in to pick up more antibiotics, some bionic woman strength cough syrup, and steroids. I'm in and out in under 5 minutes, with a smile on my face. Oh, and the cutest, tiniest pharmacist man explained to me how to take my steroids and gave me a short but sweet lecture about absolutely, positively not chugging my cough syrup out of the bottle. Instead, he gave me a beaker slash spoon to measure that shit out. I need to come up with a name for that dealio. It's sort of....kind of....like a spork....but a beaker that terminates in a spoon resemling a miniaturized sugar scoop. Oh, sorry, I got off track. Yes, back with the program. Pharmacists = caring, friendly, and patient. Lines = sometimes long as the River Kwai. (Note to self: Bad analogy. Replace with something better once brain is functioning at optimal speed). Will be back to fill more prescriptions if death rattle does not abate. read more

I have been coming here since this was an Osco. An OSCO! Since I first moved to the city and lived across the street. Its a CVS now. And has been for quite some time. I mean, I think we all wish it was still a stand alone Osco, but its a CVS - with carpet, weird signs to locate their items, a horrible self-checkout system and generally long lines. Why do I give it 4 stars? The Pharmacy is great! Drive-thru is fast and the pharmacists are SO friendly and helpful! Go easy folks. read more

CVS in River West: you get one star for selling booze, and the other for staying open 24/7. But boo for the long, horrendous lines that occur more often than not in the evening. And an even bigger boo for your unruly patrons. Yes, it sucks waiting in line. But screaming and borderline abusing the staff isn't going to make much of a difference. Earmuffs for the kids-- unofficial warning to all families. CVS, you've got a nifty "Extra Buck Rewards" program. Basically, you carry most everything I could need in a pinch. But I've switched locations, because I moved, and I couldn't be happier. I can now fill my prescriptions and read that "Us" magazine, er, rag (shhhh) in peace. read more

Ha! The negative reviews for this place pretty funny. I mean, the store is filled with some crazy ppl at times, don't get me wrong, but I agree with Kelsey M. It's a CVS! LOL! I am giving this a 4 based on the pharmacist alone. Went in asking for a recc for OTC cold medicine....she asked me my symptoms, we talked about boogers/snot/mucus, what the color and consistency of mine were like, what that meant, and how I should proceed. I think I felt so gross I was pretty sure I said, "my boogers are green and kind of thick?" I bet if she rated me, she'd probably give me a 1.... I really, really don't like this CVS. The first time I came here, I had a small child with me. Since this was going to be a quick trip for baby wipes, I decided to nix the stroller as I could just grab a cart if necessary. Well, turns out they only had about 3 carts for customers to use while the rest sat full of products throughout the store. My next problem came when I needed help with reaching something. An employee completely ignored me even though I said "excuse me" twice. When it came time to check out, there was a long line waiting to use the self-checkout with no employee around to help those having trouble with the machines. Having only self-checkouts and no one around to monitor them created a long wait with an anxious toddler who didn't want to be held and didn't want to hold my hand. It's often convenient, but I still don't like it. read more

My review is mostly for the pharmacists. I don't know where CVS finds them, but this store has the nicest, most helpful pharmacists I've seen at a major chain drugstore. I've gone in several times with various ailments, and in an attempt to avoid going to the doctor, inquired with the pharmacists about which OTC drugs would help me. There are 2 in particular ( I wish I knew their names!) who are very friendly and sympathetic, and do seem to know which drugs work for which problems. Unfortunately the rest of the staff is just so-so. Everyone's friendly but the lines are always sooooo long. I guess you really wouldn't go out of your way for any CVS, but if you live in the area, this is much better than any of the Walgreen's around. read more

This place is an embarrassment. They force customers to work there a la self checkout. Anytime checkout requires a coupon, or if checkout is going smoothly, the whole thing stops, blinks and requires an associate to type in some numbers to move it along. There are 5 checkout stations yet 15-20 people generally waiting to checkout and every station is blinking that it requires assistance. No one actually works at the register. In an economy such as this, people need jobs, so wtf happened here? Everything is done by computer; yet even those are incompetent!!! Product placement is beyond misleading. Parking lot is tiny. Pharmacist handled a syringe with her bare hands and when I asked for a sealed one she said that was the only one I could get. Gross. read more

My experiences with CVS have not been the best as I try to patronize home grown Walgreen's as my first choice. However, what I really, really hate about CVS is the carpeting. When shopping in a drug/convenient store I want to get in and out. Their wall to wall carpeting does nothing but hopefully slow down their customers in hopes they will make more unnecessary purchases. Screw the carpeting, I'm not shopping in a Dept. I am an East Coast girl, so I am very CVS indoctrinated. I agree Walgreens looks shinier and newer, but you don't get to be East Coast without being a little rough. I really like this CVS because the staff is uber friendly and helpful. I hate the self-checkout stations, but I haven't been here once without a friendly greeting. Still, the food selection leaves much to be desired, and since I feel like this area is a food desert, it would be nice to have a better selection of groceries i.e. produce (not prepackaged 8-day old oranges), healthy prepared foods (not ugly old sandwiches) and decent cheese and pasta sauce (not Kraft singles and Ragu). read more

Dudes...it's CVS I'm not sure what is to be expected? Sure there's a ton of strange folk milling around this place, but come on, watching those characters is what makes the wait in line fly by. I mean where else will you see a dude pick up a sixer of Bartles and Jaymes and a box of Magnums? And sure they run out of stuff, but it's located at a very busy intersection in a residential area next to an El stop. It's bound to happen. Over all I'm pretty happy with my CVS. This CVS is located on the corner of Milwaukee and Chicago. A very convenient location with the bus and CTA Blue line only steps away. I don't think there was a card minimum here which is a bonus. They also had "fresh produce", a few bananas. Again, this isn't that major but it is a nice option to have fresh fruit if you want it. I got a couple Gatorades here and a banana after one of my runs. The service was friendly and actually helped me swipe my card as I was clearly incapable. They also have self checkout at this location. I prefer someone else check me out. read more

The store itself may be your classic convenience store hole, but the pharmacy is wonderful. The good folks who work behind the florescent-lit counter are friendly, on-the-ball, and will take the brain-space needed to remember you next time.
