I used to love this place! Very clean, always fully stocked. I had an incident where I forgot to get the receipt. Since the amount was high, the store associate said she had to find my receipt and find me on the store video. No problem. She couldn't find me, because i was at the store at 5:28, but she looked at times from only 6 pm. Long story short- I went back today to see the Store Manager. He starts fuming at me how he spent 3 hours going thru tapes. He slams his pen when talking to me. He finds my video after my wait of 20 minutes, and complains to me that the 1-4 PM timeline was wrong (wait, what- I never said 1-4 PM), and how his associates are so competent. Made me feel like I was the guilty party! No apologies for making me wait over 30 minutes, coming in twice. I made a few mistakes like said the receipt was $154 instead of $145 and forgot to scan 1 of 9 items. I left feeling so sad. Will always go to Safeway from now on! Their loss! Get rid of the awful Store Associate and Store Manager! Puts a bad feeling to customers! Augh! read more

I guess I'm the lucky one here. I've been in a few dozen times, have had only one slow service and it was at least partially my fault, have never seen more than 4-5 people in line, and have always received the right medicine at the right time at the right price. The staff is professional and courteous but definitely not "warm". I'm not expecting a hug when I go in, just my medicine. I was completely surprised to see all of the negative reviews. Consistently slow. When I go I always plan an extra 15 min to wait in the cashier line. They are always understaffed. Please be patient. If you can, avoid the pharmacy. They are consistently slow. I always plan at least 2 trips to pick up a prescription. First trip is to make sure they know I'll pick it up after calling it in. They are never ready. I understand pharmacy phone line wait times can be long, but this pharmacy often doesn't ever answer the phone and when they do, it is not in the order of wait time/first call received. This morning I was on hold 29 min and 25 sec on one line. After 25 min holding, I was worried the pharmacist maybe had been talking to a customer and missed that someone was on hold. So I called from a second phone just to get someone to look at the phones at all, but scared to lose my place on the queue on the first call which was still on hold. I was surprised when the second call was answered in 5 minutes while the other was never answered at almost 30 min. I am not going to blame the underpaid and overworked pharmacist. CVS needs to upgrade their pharmacy phone lines so that calls can be answered in order rather than at random meaning some may never get helped (and may have a critical question about drug interactions or adverse events). read more

I ordered 15 cards on a two hour print job. I arrived after 4 hours. The cards hadn't printed. The cashier told me the job was printing and their shift had ended. The job wasn't printing. The new cashier checked out 6 people before coming to look at the machine. Then went to get paper and ink. He came back and checked out 5 more customers. Came back and installed the paper and ink. The machine is still not printing. He's checked out another 8 people. I've been here almost an hour. Bottom line: the pharmacy and the photo department are a complete wreck at this store. read more

Note that you cannot return a prescription drug, no drug store can except a return even if unused. This is never discussed and may not be conveniently displayed by the pharmacy. I found out the hard way with a $526.00 prescription that cannot be used and now is just trash. CVS is happy to make the sale but not inform policy. I recommend not using CVS and start shopping for less expensive products. Several other pharmacies offer less expensive prescriptions. Read all the comments , not to good, be informed. This pharmacy lied to my face in order to try to get my doctor to write a prescription for a different brand of epipen after they knew my infant had a recent allergic episode where we used one. When there in person, I asked a second time if they in fact had auvi q .10mg in stock in the refrigerator so I could request a refill through my primary doctor rather than the prescription from the emergency department (which they had told me there was a problem with insurance with.) The lady made a show of walking to the refrigerator, opening it, and coming back and saying yes we have it. I could tell she didn't actually check, and lo and behold when my primary sent the order, I called again and a different lady told me that in fact CVS can't get auvi q at all, I would have to call my primary again to have the prescription sent to Walgreens. That's not a problem, just very frustrated at being lied to in a distressing circumstance. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Pharmacy is TERRIBLE. They never have my medication in stock and I go days to a week past refill to get it filled. I have tried calling the pharmacy regarding status on this on multiple different days and different times for the past two months and they NEVER answer the phone. How is it ok for a pharmacist to not answer their phone? Today I had to call the front of the store twice to get them to have the pharmacist answer my call; even calling the front didn't result in my call being answered the first time. CVS is awful. The people and the staff are worse than Walmart. I can't understand how this place stays in business. They are disorganized and lack some basic items that even Draeger's has. I'm all for equal opportunity, but cashier staff can be rough. Waiting for the guy to touch the corner of his screen, then his shoulder, then a pen, before scanning my items is awkward. I once got stuck behind this old lady for more than five minutes while the cashier allowed her to try eight different phone numbers and rummage through her purse for a CVS card. I offered to buy her cheap makeup so that she would get out of the way but, NOPE, "Need to get this on my CVS card!" All of their CVS branded generic crap has supplanted many name brand items. Dropped 3 prescriptions off at 2;00 pm today. Asked when they would be ready. Was told in one hour. Went back at 3:45 pm. Gave name and date of birth. Clerk left counter and went to back. Waited 20 minutes. Finally brought 2 of the 3. I asked about 3rd. Was told computer was down and it would be completed later. I asked when. Said they would text me. Now 6;45 and no text. The two prescriptions I got said they were to be ready at 5 pm. Not the 3 pm I was told. Prescriptions were filled as I was waiting. How to not treat customers! read more

I was not surprised reading negative reviews about CVS pharmacy in Danville, and would add my own one-star. The pharmacy staff is the rudest and dishonest, starting with a pharm technician and all way up to the "manager" Nelson (the name on his tag.) I brought a 75 year old mother-in-law for a booster shot. First, the tech and then the manager made up a story that she wasn't eligible, even if the CDC clearly stated that she was. When I said so, the new excuse was that she couldn't get Moderna because CDC didn't specifically authorized Moderna for the booster (another lie). Then I suggested to use Pfizer, and the manager said that for that she needs two previous Pfizer shots (a lie) to be eligible and then referred to some obscure corporate policy by blaming a faceless CVS corporation bureaucrat for refusing the booster shot. His main push back was that he is not going to lose his job by approving the booster shot (!!!) After I told him that my mother in law is on immunosuppressant, his new excuse was - her dose was not high enough. Then, he told us to go away, he "was done talking", and since he, the manager, has a license (I certainly hope he does working in the pharmacy) he knows better. I hope someone in the "corporate" reads the reviews and will get this guy straight. Meanwhile, stay away from this CVS pharmacy, and if you must go there, complain loudly and write nasty reviews on Yelp! read more

Easter Sunday My regular pharmacy Kaiser was CLOSED TARGET near my home was CLOSED I needed my allergy prescription filled, and I was driving by the Blackhawk CVS. Although I had to pay more than my Kaiser copay, I was really appreciative that I was able to get my medication when I needed it most. When i arrive to pick up prescription after calling it in they don't have it AGAIN. THEY WANT ME TO WAIT 20 min? This place is really frustrating. Don't even try to go in if you are in a rush. The kids working the checkout are bored, unpleasant and have NO customer service. After waiting in a 8 person line I finally got tot the front after 5 LONG minutes. I greeted the guy as I approached the counter and he mumbled "hi," without looking up. The other guy stocking items was coughing up a lung and complaining about how sick he was. This review is for the pharmacy only. This pharmacy is completely unorganized and the person who manages it is incompetent. I received a text stating my prescription was ready, it wasn't. I waited for 30 minutes while multiple employees hunted for it. There were prescriptions in shopping carry-baskets all over the floor full of bags yet to be filed in the shelves on the wall. For each customer that was helped while I waited, 2-3 employees hunted in various places including random countertops covered in piles of perscription bags for their prescriptions as well. This has been my experience the last 4-5 visits to this pharmacy. It's time to switch to a new pharmacy. read more

Well stocked store but staff is very inconsistent. This includes both the pharmacy staff as well as checker is front. This evening neither of them were pleasant at all. I continue to go there because they have my insurance info with its convenience. Also out of habit since I used to go there (and preferred it much more) when it was Longs Drugs. Bad review for Pharmacy only. Don't ever expect to wait less than 45 min for a prescription, every other CVS around is 20 mins top. Also...there is a female that is a "pharmacy tech" Erika, I think.. On SO many occasions, she has been the most unhelpful and rude employee I've ever had to deal with in a drug store. But sometimes she is over nice... Bipolar-ish.. Weird!! Had my last encounter with her yesterday. She barked at me to say I was not standing in the correct drop-off line (there are 2 drop-off lines) "How could I possibly see you standing there?", she said. It was so rude and she continued to be rude from there on. Will never shop here again, even though I love the lady that's a front of store checker. (My kids and I will miss you.) Pharmacies are never fun, but this one has taken the experience to a whole new negative level. I will not be coming back. The last 3 visits I have had to wait at least 30 minutes to pick up a completed order. I've even tried coming at different times but the line is always long. About half the time they forget to apply a manufacturer's coupon which means I get to wait another 5-10 minutes while they fumble thru trying to fix. I wait bcuz it knocks $100 off already outrageous price. They need to hire more staff, and here's a novel idea, hire more clerks who know what they're doing. They treat you like dirt. Especially the gal who's supposedly the spokesperson for this pharmacy! Not sure who she is, never bothered to come down from the back counter to introduce herself or find out what the issue is. Doesn't even bother to come and talk to you in person, rather yells from the platform in the back. How unprofessional! I don't need this aggravation and disrespect. I'm taking my prescription elsewhere after 20 years of being their customer. CVS-if you guys want to stay in business, run your pharmacy employees through a rigorous CS training. Consistently long line the last two times I went here there was a line of seven or more people with only one checkstand running. You see several other employees that are working on stocking shelves which is great but would be nice if they could get the line moving. I came in here last night after work, after I had burned myself on the cast-iron. Went to the pharmacy to see if they could help recommend how to treat it, or if I should go to the hospital. I went up to the stand at 9:01 and they closed at 9. I had to knock on the glass so someone could even come over and talk to me. I explained the situation and asked the pharmacist if she could come out and look at it. She refused to come out and see me, and continued to say "no" whenever I asked her anything. CVS needs to fire Diane, she is rude and is completely ruining your pharmacy. read more

Another frustrating and maddening trip to CVS. Coupon not honored as clerk said item was a "travel size" even though it was not in the travel section nor had travel size printed on container. Computer took my 10% off lowest price item, not highest price and employee did not know how to remedy the situation. I did not want to hold up everyone in line for a several $ refund by an obviously new and inexperienced sales clerk. That is another line of contention. Former hardworking sales people have been dismissed and are very much missed. This CVS has not been a good place to shop for sometime, but it is rapidly going downhill.
