I had a very frustrating experience at this CVS Pharmacy today. I arrived at 12:26 PM to pick up a prescription medication, and the pharmacy refused to help me because they were closing for lunch at 12:30 PM. What I don't understand is why CVS posts that the pharmacy closes from 12:30-1:30 PM, yet the staff is actually shutting things down 5-10 minutes early. We drove out of our way to pick up this medication, only to be turned away. The employee said they needed "five minutes to close and lock up," but all that happened was the gate being pulled down--which took about 30 seconds. Meanwhile, there were people in line, including families with kids, who were also trying to get their prescriptions. What made the situation worse was the attitude of the staff. They were extremely rude, dismissive, and showed zero compassion toward customers who had taken the time to come in before the posted closing time. No one seemed to care that patients rely on these medications. If the pharmacy truly needs to stop serving customers 5-10 minutes before 12:30, then that should be clearly posted. Otherwise, refusing service to people who arrive before the stated closing time is unacceptable. I hope higher management looks into this, because this level of service is incredibly disappointing for a pharmacy where people depend on timely access to their medications. read more

Although I recently went from a so one star rating because of the pharmacist interaction on two occasions who was still working there today, but Shema, the other pharmacist, and Vickie wanted the technicians were quickly and courteously helping everyone that was waiting in a long line. The complexity of some of these prescriptions is vital to someone's health, such as the one I was picking up I'm raising my score up to a three now because of the character of the individuals I encountered were more similar to the ones I've had experience with before. read more

They always have one person who is working on the pharmacy counter and they will sometimes spend 20 min on one customer while other people wait. This cvs should shut down ! Ok, is the CVS pharmacy perfect? No. Is it a joy to wait in a long line to get meds, no? BUT I will say that in the last 6 months they have really made improvements. They often have 2-3 people working on busy times vs the 1 person they used to have. I also feel they are more responsive. They are starting to have consistency in staff so I'm getting to know they people working and honestly...I enjoy talking to them! They are good people who are working hard on a stressful, thankless job. It's not perfect, but it's night and day from where it was and I appreciate them for that. read more

Transfer your prescriptions to Costco for real customer service. I called in around 4:45 pm on 04/29/23 to see if my prescription could be refilled the same day. The pharmacist that picked up seriously needs customer service training on how to speak to someone politely on the phone. Our conversation went like this: Me: HI, can you refill my prescription today, then I proceeded to give my details CVS: Hold on. CVS: (After returning a few minutes later) Okay, come by 6pm, we close at 6 Me: I live close by so can come now CVS: Come by 6pm, we close at 6 Me: Sure, but will it be ready soon CVS: Yes, come by 6pm Me: Is there a line right now? CVS: We always have line. Click --end of call When I went to pick up the prescription, I provided the feedback to the clerk. She claimed she didn't know who picks up the phones, and she didn't know if the pharmacists go through customer service training. I mentioned that I went on Yelp and they have 1 out of 5 star reviews overall. She claimed the reviews are all from last year (which is not the case). She also mentioned that she couldn't do anything with the feedback because she was just the pharmacy register clerk, but I could return on Monday to speak to the manager. I replied sarcastically that's really convenient, and suggested she pass on my feedback to the pharmacists. Given my low tolerance for bad manners, I'm so excited to transfer my prescription to Costco and use them as my primary pharmacy, and never have to deal with CVS. CVS really needs to invest in customer service classes for the pharmacists and weed out the bad apples. They fill the prescription too early or they short on brand name medications as it should be 30 a month but they keep shorting 3 each month giving me 27 pills. If I had a chance I would put 0 star for this pharmacy and services they provide. There are so many things that I am not happy with this pharmacy. First of all, you when you call them you wait too long and go through long messaging system, wait at least 20-30min until pharmacist will pick up the phone. When they picked up the phone, you start talking with them they put you on another long hold 15-20min or just hang up on you. It takes hours to reach out someone and speak regarding your prescription. That's what happened to me many times in the past and today. Today I spoke with pharmacist Arvita (this is the name she gave me). She handed up my first call, so I had to call again. A couple of days ago I spoke with this lady and she refused me complete and give me pain medication that my surgeon prescribed me even after I told her that that I just got my major surgery hip replacement done and I am in very severe pain. She was very irritating and made me a hard time at the day of my surgery. This pharmacy hired ladies that disregard doctor's medical prescriptions and recommendation. They decide themselves what to do and how to do, give medication to patient or not. Now I need to go to another pharmacy. I went to Walgreens. This location used to be one of the better ones but is now one of the worst. Mgmt recently installed self-checkout machines instead of hiring a few workers to address perpetual understaffing. The result is predictable - even longer lines and frustrated customers as the machines choke on pricing and coupons. And to top it off CVS cut back hours and now closes every night at 10pm, but the website and yelp still incorrectly show 12am. I'm sorry but you've had 7 months to update the hours. The pharmacy has improved a bit but still sends annoying texts even when you don't want them. Try Danville Pharmacy downtown instead - you'll be happy you did. read more

I am shocked that this location has 1.5 stars. It's too bad there are not negative ratings. I have been left waiting for a prescription for over 1/2 hour only to ask what was going on, then was told oh we don't have it in stock and have to order it. If I hadn't asked I think they would have let me sit there over night. Then I called the next day to find out what was going on with the order, waited 20 minutes on the line only to have them pick up and hang up with answering. Be careful what you are buying. There is a no return and no refund policy in place due to COVID 19. The store are being very misleading and deceptive. They have a small sign posted near the register stating that all non prescription item are not returnable. Be real, the prescription item is being checked out at the pharmacy. So the notice at the entrance should be big and in red ink to warn the customer about all sales are final. Using COVID 19 as an excuse not to accept return is unacceptable. How do they guarantee that all the item inside the store are virus free! read more

I do agree that the pharmacy lines tend to get backed up. Perhaps they would benefit from additional staff. However, the pharmacy staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. The other store employees are always very friendly. When I asked where to find a specific brand of allergy medication the employee did not just tell me where to go, she actually walked with me to the aisle and helped me find what I was looking for on the shelf. We both walked up front together and there were already 2 people in line so she opened up another register right away. I had been saving $3 "extra bucks" in my wallet, but soon realized that it had expired the day before. The cashier said "no problem" and accepted my coupon anyways. Yesterday evening , I was there to buy a couple of things. When I went to check out, the guy at the register was so rude. I don't know if he's the evening manager or not but I feel bad for the lady he was working with. He was scanning all of my items and tossing it to the side where the girl was standing. Then he told her to put everything in the bag. There were items in front of him that was quite far from the girl doing all the bagging (I don't know if he was training her or not but he definitely shouldn't be training anyone) and the girl asked him to bring it closer to her a couple of times and he just looked at her and ignored her. I came here to fulfill a mobile delivery between 11:15am and 11:25am. I was able to find most of what I was looking for. There is an older man that works here of middle eastern descent with gray hair. He is completely inconsiderate and very rude. I went to use self check out. I had 6 items, all beverages. This man that works here stopped stocking the shelves to stand behind me and watch me check out at the self check out. He was 3-4 feet behind me breathing up my neck. I scanned some items and he peered over my shoulder. Then he takes it upon himself to get in my personal space and click on the self service machine that I'm in the middle of a purchase on. He clicks on the bagging option and adds a bag to my purchase. I was in the middle of putting things in a bag. Then he continues to stand there watching my every move. I finished checking out and went outside. Another lady checked out after me and the man was nowhere to be seen. What this man did is HIGHLY unacceptable. It is rude and inconsiderate. At no time did I ask him for help. I don't know what came over him to hijack my checkout machine as if I were going to steal a 0.10 cent bag that the customer through the app I'm working for is paying for.... I feel completely disrespected. CVS you should really teach your employees what personal space looks like and what it means to ask for help vs not asking for help. HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE. read more

I dropped in to pick up a couple of things I forgot to pack before I left Bakersfield yesterday. Mom and I had a huge list of errands we had to run, including having to drop off a dog at the groomer and pick up and drop-off nieces with a very busy schedule so we really didn't have time to mess around. We asked the staff to help us locate items so we didn't have to search and we found everyone quite friendly and helpful. The checkout lady smiled and greeted us, patiently helping us look up our CVS card membership info since I forgot my card and didn't have it registered to my phone number - my bad. CVS is a drugstore, but it is so much more than just a pharmacy. They carry a much better variety of over the counter medications than you will find at most grocery stores. And their beauty products and cosmetics department is also much more extensive than you'll find at grocery stores. They carry just about everything you need to make your body, face, and hair look good, and in every style and color imaginable done by most of the major brand names. But it doesn't end there. They also stock a variety of cleaning products, foods, even some alcohol. Be aware that though this store is open longer hours than most others in the chain (7am-12am Monday through Saturday and 8am-12am on Sundays!!!) the pharmacy department is only open the same hours as those at their other stores: 8am-9pm from Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturdays, and 10am-6pm on Sundays.
