Another frustrating and maddening trip to CVS. Coupon not honored as clerk said item was a "travel size" even though it was not in the travel section nor had travel size printed on container. Computer took my 10% off lowest price item, not highest price and employee did not know how to remedy the situation. I did not want to hold up everyone in line for a several $ refund by an obviously new and inexperienced sales clerk. That is another line of contention. Former hardworking sales people have been dismissed and are very much missed. This CVS has not been a good place to shop for sometime, but it is rapidly going downhill. slow pharmacy. The line for pharmacy pickup is a joke. You've got older folks (with canes) here waiting in line forever. There are about 5 chicks in the pharmacy running all over and the line hardly moves. This pharmacy needs to take some lessons on efficiency from Rite Aid on Crow Canyon. read more

This place isn't great but it's not as horrible as other reviewers say either. The store is clean, plenty of pruducts....blah, blah, blah.... my problem comes at checkout. There are never, EVER, anytime, day, night, weekend... you get it, NEVER enough checkouts open. It's almost always just one. With 3-5 customers waiting... and waiting... and waiting. It seems they time test the cashiers and choose the one with the slowest time to be the lone cashier. It bites to rush in to a place, find exactly what you came for in 60 seconds flat then stand waiting to check out for 5 minutes. I live around the corner from this CVS and come almost every day. But today I was very unhappy with the customer service in the store today. The girl at the register was not very keen at helping me out and the manager was not very interested in the entire situation either. I was trying to use a coupon that was emailed to me but they were all rolling eyes and very getting very irritated. The worst customer service I received!! Extremely disappointing. Worst pharmacy ever. Been getting my meds there for three straight years of pure torture. I live two miles down the road and figure ok, I can handle it. Rudest pharmacy techs ever. This January I started picking up my meds and noticed insurance billed zero and meds were 35.00. My husband is a Deputy Sheriff we have no new year allowance, always no matter what have a 10.00 co-pay. When I dared to question why 30 pills cost me 35.00 dollars the dark haired wench yelled from three registers down, not even bothering to come over and possibly see if there was a problem. She simply screamed "call your insurance, not our problem" excuse me, is this Danville? Or some low rent pharmacy in the hood. This happened to me three times. I finally had it. I went to the Walmart Super Store on Alcosta Blvd in San Ramon. I happened to ask the pharmacist if my prescriptions could be transferred over from CVS. The tech took all of my info, including my husband and was so nice it was like I was in the Nordstrom of pharmacies. The pharmacist said they have been getting nothing but upset people coming in and transferring all their future refills to Walmart. I was treated with such kindness and respect by the entire staff I couldn't believe for three years I went to a pharmacy that was run by something out of a prison camp. When my prescriptions were ready in less than 15 minutes, I was texted and my refill cost was 9.33 in comparison to 35.00 that CVS robbed me of. I am attempting to find out if in fact CVS is over charging its customers. How can the same generic drug have such a dramatic price difference? Rude, nasty, ugly people with wait times up to three hours. The pick up line is always 25 deep. My husband was injured in the line of duty. I had to pick up his pain meds. It was 4:30 pm. The same dark haired wench who screamed the other day, would not call the Workmans Comp number in order for us to not be charged as it was an officer injury. I did not have the money and did not have my credit card. I was in tears telling her my husband was badly injured in the line of duty please call. She said no, I would have to pay and be reimbursed. Can you imagine? An officer treated that way when I had all the paperwork proving he was covered. Terrible terrible place. I called the corporate office and the store with this story. I will never ever step one foot in another CVS again. This pharmacy should be ashamed of the inconsiderate manner in which they conduct themselves. #Policelivesmatter read more

Prices seem to have gone up. I'm not sure if it's just this location or at all CVS locations but I recently paid $2.50 - $3 more for my basic deodorant, make up wipes, makeup foundation, and cold and sinus medicine. I checked online, and even their online prices are cheaper than this Danville location. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. I love them. They are very helpful and know theirs tuff. If I could rate the store separately I would give it one star. They are slow, clueless and the lines are so so long it's not even funny. Every time I have to buy things there is only one line open and I just don't get it. are they trying to save that much money that they can't staff properly? This CVS is horrible. Lines are long and I have to wait forever every time I go in there. The pharmacy portion is even worse. They are so slow it's unbelievable. Not enough help. Plus the few times I tried to buy Claritin-D from them I got denied with no explanation. I normally get it at Safeway and have never had any problems. I actually even tried to complain to corporate CVS and was treated even worse by the pharmacy guy over the phone. I received a second prescription from my Orthopedic Surgeon prescribing a schedule II pain reliever. I understand the rules of the state; the prescription cannot be a refill and must be a new prescription for it to be filled within a certain period of time (which it was). While my insurance may not cover the second prescription, it is not up to the pharmacist to determine whether I will suffer from addiction; that is the prescribing doctor's concern. The pharmacist argued with my mother, who was helping me move around after knee surgery. The pharmacist reluctantly gave me the pain medication prescribed by my doctor. When I spoke with my surgeon, he said it was absolutely not acceptable for the pharmacist to argue. This exchange made me hesitant to take medicine that will allow me to progress in physical therapy; I am grateful that my surgeon reassured me that it's OK to take what I need. Thanks, CVS for making me feel like a pain reliever abuser. read more

WORST pharmacy ever period. If it were possible to give a 0, that's what I would selected. Frankly, CVS might be better off shutting down this pharmacy over having this pharmacy continue to ruin CVS' reputation (Look at the number of complaints in Yelp alone....). What does go right is the customer handing the prescription to the clerk, then everything goes downhill from there: o Prescriptions take 30 - 45 minutes to get filled, even when there's only a few customers. I always have to ask multiple times if the prescriptions are ready; they ought to have a way to let customers know their medication is ready for pickup but do not o Once filled, the Clerks cannot locate the medication. One clerk needed the help of two others to find two prescriptions that had been filled. I had to wait another 15 minutes for the workers to locate the filled prescriptions. (Seriously????!!! CVS paid 3 people for 15 minutes to locate 2 prescriptions????) o Workers can be observed laughing (smugly) at customers' frustration over the long, painful and broken process. o Managers lack customer service skills, instead choosing to defend the pharmacy's slowness because they "are so busy" and due to "some turnover". Serving 3 customers, to me, is not busy. Take a look at Kaiser if you'd like to see busy -- they are processing several dozen customers at a time in one location alone, and they work like clockwork. You're typically done in 10 minutes and walking out the door at Kaiser At CVS All told, it was over an hour before I had my prescriptions and able to leave the store. Pharmacy workers and managers at this CVS pharmacy are shockingly rude. I have lived in the area for about 10 years. Been back and forth from safeway, rite-aid, and even target. To be totally honest none of these places are 100% on top of things. I eventually found myself going back to cvs because of the pharmacy staff. They are extemely helpful and willing to go above and beyond for you. read more

There was a period of time long ago when they were being surveyed for customer service. They were on their best behavior due to the 800 number customers were supposed to call to let Longs Drugs know how you enjoyed your visit. Well since they became CVS, these same guys at the store are soooooo RUDE. There's a little dude there that is the most unpleasant person I have ever met. The one coughing all the time smells like a house on fire because he is out front smoking all the time (that must be hours of paid time). He also has a few friends in cars that come late at night and they party in the parking during his shift and they have the music blasting for way over an hour in the middle of the night. It's absolutely absurd that they all still have their jobs. They are constantly goofing off and downright nasty when you come in the store. I have lived in San Ramon for over 25 years and I have never experienced any CVS store like this. The woman that works during the day is just so pleasant. The three guys in the evening are out of control. Someone from the company needs to send a mystery shopper in the middle of the night to check these guys out. It's been going on for over a year now. The level of service at the pharmacy is very poor and they (CVS managers) do not care to make it any better . I recommend you stay away from CVS. I called on Wednesday last week and ordered two prescription refills. They called on Friday morning and said it is ready in the afternoon. I stopped at 5:00PM after work, waited in line for 15 minutes (only one person works the Pick-Up Counter, regardless of the number of people in line) and at the counter the clerk after going through the motions of asking my name, last name and DOB she said it is not ready yet can you wait 10 minutes, I said no I will be back tomorrow, she said it will be ready then. I stopped Sat morning at 11:00 AM. Again waited in line for 10 minutes and again the same clerk, with a stupid smile on her face asked my name , last name and DOB and again she said it is not ready. I said how can it be, I already waited in line twice and you said last eve it will be ready. She went back in the long room where they fill the orders and talked to an older lady and came back and said sorry not ready come back in 5 minutes. I was furious, and just walked out, did my other errands and stopped by in the afternoon. Waited again in line and she again asked the same stupid questions, and said only one is ready. I said what do you mean I ordered two refills, she was looking at the screen and said we only asked your doctor for one..... it was unbelievable and she ( clerk) was devoid of any personality when looking at her face, not trying to make the situation that is their fault, any better. What if without my medicine my health would be adversely affected, she cared about none of that. Before walking out I said I am changing my pharmacy, she kept looking at the air. read more
