My wife and I were over 70 seniors, we made appointments with Safeway for our flu shots today. We both have Medicare Part B and flu shots should be covered under Medicare. After filling out the consent and information forms, pharmacist insisted that we both have to pay $8.00 each for copay. Even when we presented our supplemental insurance they indicated supplemental insurance does not cover flu shots copay. Attitude of pharmacy were rude and combatant when we question about the rationale for the copay because it's wholly covered under Medicare plan. We decided to go to CVS instead and they never heard of having to pay for flu shots copay for seniors with Medicare Part B and we promptly got the shots there with NO copay. So if you're thinking of taking flu shots, make Safeway the very last place you go to. Moreover, they need to moderate their service attitude. read more

I only go when I need a prescription filled that day from my Dr. it is not an easy process there for so e reason like what line really should you stand in. As you. Read the sign and it's better just to stand in the pick up line but then they may move you and then you have to go back but go in the line up. They may have your med in stock but also they may not find a prescription sent from your Dr as I had one I tried 3 times to get. Bailed and used ExpressScripts. But I got the immediate prescriptions I needed. But I earned them in my wait time as I also watched a kid literally scooter throw the store! read more

This pharmacy isn't perfect, but they've always taken good care of me. Been going here for about 8 years now and have tons of prescriptions with them. A recent bright spot was the addition of Lisa, who went out of her way to help me save money on a prescription my insurance doesn't cover - she saved me $1,000 a year, and it was her idea! Over time this pharmacy has been hiring better employees, and the pharmacists who have been around for many years are really good and friendly. Give them a try. read more

I often get my flu shots and lab work done here. The technician (pharmacist?) is really nice. I've never had issues here. I don't get prescriptions here as I used to go to CVS/Walgreens and now I go to Kaiser, but I'm sure it's a decent experience. The Quest lab is good! read more

You can get your flu shots here. They're using masks, gloves, asks appropriate questions regarding the flu shot. The only thing I didn't like is we have to wait for 20 minutes just to print the paper that we had a flu shot for our records. 20 minutes? Just to input our names & check us off that we had the flu shot, 20 minutes? Are you kidding me? They already made us wait 20 minutes for prepping our shots-that I understand because they have to make sure that they have the vaccine/needles/band aids/gloves/alcohol wipes/clean the area/etc. But to input the name? 20 minutes? Talk about lack of personal responsibility. I dropped a prescription at 2 PM, they told me it will be ready in 30-45 min i went at 6:30 PM - they LOST the prescription, a real paper one! I was supposed to start the regimen that day, but I said it ok, and to call the Drs office next day I called them next day... they called the Drs office... and called me back to say the prescription was ready! I called back saying that I am in meetings and if they could drop off.... they said they could but it won't be until tomorrow!! I retorted, I said I am moving my prescriptions to another pharmacy... the answer " "That OK". Bravo... the customer service award goes to...... You would have thought they would be a little more responsible!! read more

I went to the pharmacy on Sunday at 3:30 PM to get the covid boaster shot because the walkins were welcomed and no appointment was necessary. The Pharmacist said that she is not taking any walkins for the boaster shot. That was an unprofessional attitude on part of the pharmacist to decide not to administer shot at that time. If pharmacists are overworked and agitated because of long working hours and having no proper assistance, then they need to address those issues with their managers. Not take decisions in their hands to refuse service to a customers. read more

Horrible pharmacy. My wife and I both shop at this Safeway all the time so it seemed to make sense for us to also fill our prescriptions here. Well, I have been using the place for over two years and I have finally had enough. Issues they have here: 1) If a doctor electronically submits a prescription to them they do not automatically fill it. Customer has to call or visit the pharmacy afterwards or it just sits unfilled. Why? 2) Lines are almost always extremely long. Only one person ever working the window. No one in the pharmacy cares to help out regardless of how bad the wait gets. They just pretend that nothing outside of the pharmacy window exists. 3) Turnover is really high so most of the time people have no idea what they are doing or where to find things. One time i literally waited ten minutes while a pharmacy worker walked around in circles until she found my prescription in the first bin she checked. 4) Recently their online ordering system for refills stopped actually getting things refilled. It accepts the order and then nothing happens. Forcing the customer to call or visit the pharmacy for it to actually start the process of the refill. 5) Their online ordering system is managed by some third party company who is unaffiliated with Safeway and redirects all support issues which are not due to the website failing back to Safeway. 6) Nobody at this pharmacy cares at all about customer satisfaction. I have tried writing and calling corporate Safeway and there is not a single person who cares about my frustration or likely anyone elses. You can tell as they have not even claimed this business on Yelp as the one star reviews continue to pile up. Basically, this pharmacy is simply something Safeway does not care about and it is operated as such. I am finally done and switching elsewhere. I'll start by saying I arrived to drop off my prescription at 1110, I stood there for a good 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that I was there. Finally, someone said I will be right with you, there were 3 people there just staring at a computer screen. About 3 minutes later some one finally helps me and tells me it will be 15 minutes so I wait. Needless to say it is now 1145 and I just sat in my car to leave. The customer service there is non existent and they are just too slow. I would have rather they told me to come back in an hour. The line that formed behind me was pretty ridiculous. It seemed only one person out of the 3 was actually working. This was my first and will be my last time coming to this pharmacy! read more

The pharmacy is great when Anh or Michelle are there. Every time they are there everything is so efficient and runs smoothly. I do have to say that there is one pharmacy clerk, Tina who has consistently messed up my prescriptions, called me a liar when she had made a mistake and just is flat out rude. When I see her there, I intentionally go back another day as dealing with her makes me feel like I've wasted minutes of my life that I will never get back. The only reason why I cannot give 5 stars is because of Tina which is a real shame. read more

My dr appt finished at 11am so I figure I can swing by and pick up prescriptions at 2pm... made the trip there and it is not ready. Was told to come back after 3:15pm. Arrived at 4:15pm 2nd time. Only two people working inside with 4 customers already in line. I can't wait for 1/2+ hour. Have to go back the 3rd time. This is just ridiculous. What can I say, bad service, arrogant rude pharmacy staff!

This pharmacy is located in a very rich city San Ramon. They should be running out of any medication, and every time I go there I receive mediocre treatment where I stand there and nobody acknowledges my presence therefore my wasting my time as a mother. They ignore customers when they visibly see that they are there, and when you really need a medication that should've been ready and you make the time to go there and get it, they inform you that there's none left at the time. Imagine a situation where someone is severely sick and needs their medication as soon as possible. Then what would happen? read more

I have been a Safeway customer at this location since they opened 8+ years ago. I love the folks that work there; they treat you like family. Yes, sometimes the lines are long and they're stocking shelves at inconvenient times, but it's a great experience overall. The Pharmacy is another story. Like the grocery store, I've been a customer there for many years. For whatever reason, the service has really fallen in the past 6 months. It seems like there's a revolving door of "technicians" that seem to have no clue what they're doing. And, because of that, the lines to drop-off and pick-up are ridiculous. I've had a standing prescription for the last 6 months and have had nothing but problems. First, when I did a phone re-fill, they claimed I hadn't done it. Second, I stood in line for a half hour to put in my prescription only to pick it up two weeks later (I had surgery and couldn't drive) and they sent it back because no one had picked it up after 9 days. Seriously? Without even calling me? When I asked about transferring my prescription, they said the new place could just call them for it. We'll see how that goes. Regarding the actual Pharmacists, they've always been very pleasant but the new Indian lady is just plain rude. I'm not sure if it's a language issue, but she's abrupt, harsh and seems to have no people skills. Lastly, I've gotten my flu shots there the last few years and it's been nothing but trouble. One year the person giving the shot couldn't get into the Pharmacy door (seriously). Another year they left me sitting in the waiting room for +20 minutes (I think they forgot I was there). This pharmacy is horrible. I had 3 prescriptions faxed over at 1pm. I called at three to find out when it would be ready. I was told in one hour. I went to pick it at 7:45pm. It was. It ready. I was told 20 more mins. That time came and went and it still wasn't ready. Then I was told they didn't have one of the medications in stock and they would have to order it. I am really frustrated! I had to deal with Joe today and what a jerk! He didn't even want to really help me! I am Diabetic and just spoke to my doctor regarding getting a new meter and she put it through to the pharmacy, I even watched her send it and it of course Joe did not see it. I also ordered my usual Norco and that was not seen by him and then he tried the make me feel about it. I get that it's under the Narcotic department but I have a legitimate prescription for it. I am going to speak to Michelle about his attitude. They would do much better without him!! The rest of the people that work there are great but that guy is terrible. read more

I had to give it 1 star. I just got off the phone with a rude pharmacist not wanting to take blame that my prescription isn't filled because they couldn't verify with the doctor AFTER hours. Go figure! It's not enough that I was disappointed to say the least, but he was asking for an argument from me. Really trying to get me to yell at him for the lack of urgency on their part, like really egging me on. Yes, I understand that the prescription may be unreadable/questionable, but after having it for almost 2 hours, you think they would have called the doctor right away?!?!?!. No, it's apparently my fault for calling 2 hours after my appointment to see if it was available for my SICK self to drive over to pick up the medication??? How dare he think that this is MY FAULT!
