This is the worst CVS we have been in. Made appointment for my wheelchairbound wife for Covid booster shot for 5 PM today. We were there a bit early about 20 minutes. The old lady at the pharmacy counter told us that we have to be there exactly at 5. Even there was no line and no one ahead of us. OK, fine, we agreed to come back at 5 . But when we got back at 5, no one took care of us. We stood in front of the vaccination check- in counter for at least 15 minutes, no one even have the courtesy to acknowledge our presence. They saw us, my wife on wheelchair, but they chose to ignore us. Worst ever experience in CVS. read more

The employees working at the pharmacy are wonderful people in a tough situation. It's not their fault that filling prescriptions here is a failure in customer service. The counter is always desperately understaffed. During my many years here (why have I stayed so long!?) I've been through routine prescriptions, plus a period of chemotherapy where I was getting scripts filled constantly. I have never, ever been there without a line. Often, after waiting in line up to 25 minutes (with a compromised immune system, in line with sick people and barely standing), I would find out that the prescription was not yet filled. Yesterday when I went in to fill a very common, typical prescription for my daughter I was told that they didn't have it in stock and wouldn't have it until next week. I've stayed here because the location is so convenient, but have finally given up. Safeway, here I come.... CVS, stop cutting pharmacy staff and start putting customer service for your most vulnerable customers first. read more

I came here today at around 11am looking for face masks. I went to a few CVS in east bay and they all sold out. I walked into this CVS thinking it is likely sold out too. A store employee (I didn't catch his name but I think he is the store manager?) was stocking the shelves and he stopped what he was doing to see if I need any help. I told him I've been looking for face masks without any luck. He said, "Oh, we have two small boxes left, they were misplaced. Here, let me show you where they are." He is sooooo nice! Deborah the cashier who helped me at checkout is nice too. We chatted about sea otter spotting down at Pacific Grove. I highly recommend this CVS location because of these nice people here. read more

This is the second time I've dealt with a rude worker in CVS. Same woman every time. The first time I went in there, she treated multiple people very poorly, and was super rude to me. She offered no help to people who needed their photos printed. Today I went in again, and she stared at me like I was dumb and when I told her I needed to pick up my photos, she embarrassed the man working the cash register, bossed him around, told him to go to photos and basically do his job. She proceeded to say to me "I'm not doing it I'm off". Then she called him an idiot in front of people in line. I told her that was not nice at all, and thanked the nice man working multiple times. It was so rude to the point that I had other customers come up to me and appreciate and thank me for sticking up for the man working because she was such a bully to him. She should not work here, it makes CVS look very bad. She is older, and has super short hair. Unacceptable. She also worked at the front in the general store. read more

I'm still not sure why these types of stores are still around. Maybe its the Pharmacy aspect or something? The prices are so high I would never ever come out of my way to shop here for my regular items. They are just as expensive as Safeway when it comes to their sundry type items. I would never buy sundry items at Safeway either. Service is also a mixed bag. There was a ridiculously long line the day I came in and only one checker. I saw people refilling the shelves, so why they weren't possibly helping out at the checkout counter is beyond me. I only came in for a gift card and a birthday card for my Grandpa. They did have a very big card selection with some unique offerings. Other than that I'm not coming in here that often. read more

The only consistent thing about this pharmacy is that is always takes an absurdly long time to get your prescription. Some staff members are friendly and helpful; others appear to really hate their jobs. The pharmacy seems understaffed- always a long line for pickup and trying to get someone's attention to even take a prescription at the drop-off window is a challenge. read more

Seriously the worst CVS pharmacy unless you have all day to wait in line to drop off a prescription, wait for it to be filled and then pick up. If you decide to not wait and have them call you, you run the risk of coming in, waiting again in the longest line just for them to tell you they put the prescription back so please wait....again. I think I'll have to try another CVS or Walgreens since this isn't the first time time has happened. read more

I like Longs Drugs for some reason. Some of their stuff is often overpriced, yet I continue to shop at Longs throughout the Valley. Anyway, I've been going to this Longs as of late for just general errands (haven't tried their prescription service). The center itself is a bit old but the inside of the store is fine. It's laid out a little differently than most Longs I'm used to -- some of the aisles go up and down and others side-to-side in the store. But it's still easy to find stuff. I tried their computer touch-screen "pharmacist" today (trying to tackle a cold/allergies/cough/who knows what) and it seemed pretty helpful ... lets you input your symptoms, etc. then makes suggestions. Short lines, easy to get in and out of parking lot (compared to the other Longs near my house -- the one off Crow Canyon). read more

I love this CVS Pharmacy! The place is not too big nor too small. The shelves are always stacked with the brands I buy. On top of that, where else would you be able to get a jug of Tanqueray gin on sale for $16.99? The sales associates are always friendly and helpful. Probably the most aggressively poor service I have ever encountered. I called to ask about delivery for a prescription and once I gave her the information she said it was called in to Alamo. I was trying to ask how to change the location, to which she just got louder and louder that she has nothing to do with my prescription and will not (not can not) help me. I asked to please speak with someone that would please not yell at me and tried to again explain I just needed help understanding how to change the address and she again said she knows nothing about my prescription and will not help me. I asked for her first and last name. She said she would not give it and just put me back on hold. When the next person came on 5 minutes later she said she doesn't see the prescription and when I again asked about changing it she said she was busy and had to go. Worst service ever. read more

Had to switch locations from the Blackhawk location (AWESOME pharmacy) to this location on SRV Blvd. Save yourself the YEAR of aggravation that I have endured, and just go somewhere else. I'm now trying the Alamo location and I truly hope that they have more competent staff. If you have to use a pharmacy in that exact area, go across the street to the Walgreens. How difficult can it be to efficiently help people--especially when there is a LINE--by turning around, finding the scrip, and properly charging them? I can only think that these people actually enjoy acting like morons. Oh, and the previous poster is correct: my prescriptions were NEVER ready. The last straw was when it took TWO DAYS to get my medications, despite my physician faxing in approvals and calling the store. Pathetic. read more

This pharmacy gets an A+ for friendliness, smiling, and overall helpfulness. It's quite noticeable that the people in managerial positions at this CVS actually care, resulting in a top down culture of caring. I often see the manager patrolling the store, saying hello to customers and the like. I have had very good experiences with the pharmacy manager as well when issues arose. We love this place. We love Thomas, he is awesome. And the rest of the CVS staff is amazing too. We hate to admit it, but we were Walgreens shoppers. But they close too early and CVS is open till midnight. You see, my boyfriend and I go on nightly walks around 10 pm or so and we always end up at CVS. At first it was because we needed to buy something, like chocolate, we both have a sweet tooth, or toilet paper, because someone used the last roll and didn't tell me, or the dreaded tampons for my daughter because she is too embarrassed to buy them. After coming in night after night for the past year, we've gotten to know the staff. They are all very helpful, especially Thomas. He has an amazing way with people. So now we come in night after night just to see the staff. Somehow, we still buy something, well a lot of something's, always forgetting to bring our shopping bags and having to purchase more of those too. Lol. Today is the last time I will step foot in this CVS. I even called their corporate complaint line after my experience here today. Every time I have come into this store, I have waited in line. Could be short or long but it is always a wait and no matter what time of day. I was here again with the baby I watch every Tuesday to pick up some pacifiers as they were forgotten at home before he came to me. The baby section is pretty small here and it seems they are always out of stock on many items. What set me off today though was the fact that I had the baby in my arms, all of the things I needed on the conveyor belt and the customer service was abysmal. The cashier was helping another customer who took a lot longer than need be so the person who went to do a price check on an item ended up checking on another register. She asked for the next person in line (that would have been me but my hands were full with a baby) so the person 2 behind me went over to her register. After waiting another 5 minutes or so, I walked over to the other register and advised the "newer" cashier what she should have done seeing that I was the next person in line with my hands full, she should have asked me which items were mine and helped me carry things over to the new register. By this time, I was pissed-as she said that she asked for the next customer "and no one moved". UGH. So I then asked if there was a manager at the store. She said yes and called upstairs to "Frank" the "Manager". Frank then asked her why I was asking for him so she tells him over the phone and loud enough that I can hear her (I am still in line at the first register) that she asked for the next customer in line and "no one moved". He came down, and I swear, I hate men that are promoted to management (or women for that matter) that have no balls. He couldn't look me in the eye. I asked if he was capable of opening another register and if he could help me carry the things I had on the conveyor belt to that register. He looked at me like I was an alien. The original cashier then advised she could "help me now" and then Frank started to walk away. At that point I asked him how he got his job as a manager and why he didn't come down and help out when there was a line. At this point there were several people in both lines and yes, I was probably a little bitchy at this point but I was trying to make a point. Just as I was finished getting rung up, the baby spit up all over himself and me and the floor. I said "Oh Great" and the cashier asked if I wanted a towel. I said no-heading home and ask "Frank" to clean up the floor since it seemed like he needed something to do. There are 2 Walgreen's in the area. My prescriptions are not on auto-fill. This month alone I've received 3 text messages about the same prescription being filled without my requesting it. Ive has to call and wait on hold for 15 mins each time to tell them I did not request it, it's not on auto refill and I will call when I need it filled. This is the most god awful pharmacy, possibly ever. EVERY time I need a prescription filled there is an issue. I've continued to use the pharmacy because the two pharmacies closer to me (both Walgreens), don't take my prescription coverage. Plus, the drive thru is theoretically more convenient when you have sick kids in the car, but I can't take it anymore. Yesterday took the cake for me: sick kid, prescription is faxed around 1130 AM. Kid is ok, so I wait all day to pick up scrip (plus I know that the pharmacy has a tendency to be painfully slow and way behind on filling scrips). Decide to call first (I've learned the hard way) at 5:30PM. Was put on hold for 15 minutes, and when someone did pick up, they hung up on me. Called back, was asked to hold. I declined and asked if kid's prescription was ready. They said that it was in queue and she needed to check stock. I waited until she returned and confirmed that it would be ready in an hour. Needless to say that made me very mad. Thankfully when I came back at 630 (7 hours after the scrip was faxed to the pharmacy), it was ready. I chuckled to myself when I saw the time stamp at the top said "promised by 11:52AM". Yeah, right! Aside from their obvious inability to fill prescriptions in a timely manner, I've had other ridiculous issues like failing to run a med through insurance - why on earth would I pay over $100 for an antibiotic that should be an $8 copay?? Been to this Phamacy twice for what wa to be my third CV 19 shot under a confirmed appt which they refused to administer. Like some weird power trip. . Rude unprofessional staff . Nelson the Phamacy manager said despite me being 68 said I was not eligible first time . He was wrong, then just tonight when back again with a confirmed appt only for Nelson to send me to his female consultant at the second window who told me because I had Blue Cross she would not honor the 3 rd shoot booster appt that they confirmed. I told her I would pay for it if that was the case she said they can't accept payment\ asked me to call Blue Cross who confirmed this branch was wrong in their denial. Totally wrong. Extremely poor behavior for a location they is supposed to dispense health care . To prove my point my wife younger than me , on my health plan, got her third shot at Lafayette CVS. I am going to write corporate as the behavior at this Danville store is reprehensible and so unprofessional. My guess is they may be getting a ton of complaints/ something is wrong at this particular branch. read more

Racism at its finest. I come to this CVS a few times a week becomes it's feet away from my job and I'm almost always followed. But today an employee followed me out, accused me of stealing and humiliated me in front of my coworkers. She didn't ask ANY white customer to see their belongings, just me. And she couldn't even tell me what she saw me allegedly steal, she just kept saying "All the stuff you stole in your bag". I let her check the bag so she could feel stupid, and I imagine she did because contrary to what she believed not all black people steal. read more

This review is based on the pharmacy at this CVS location only. I'll detail the issues I've experienced with this pharmacy, then you can decide for yourself if you think my 1 star rating is justified (I just wish it could be lower!). This is long, but you will be amazed... First... I have no issue with the majority of the clerks who you pick up your prescription from and pay... Dara, in particular, is awesome. I have been using the pharmacy for a LONG time... back when it was Long's, probably around 10 years at least. None of my issues occurred until CVS took over, I don't know if that is related. As anyone who has used this pharmacy knows, they are horrid at having your prescription ready at the promised time and seem understaffed. This in itself isn't a MAJOR issue for ME, because I am patient and also possess the ability to use my brain, so I started requesting my prescriptions filled a day before I planned to pick them up. Standing in the often long line for the pharmacy, I've often watched the people in from of me grow increasingly impatient as we waited in line. It is often the case that when people ahead of me reach the counter, they are told their prescription isn't ready yet... it has happened to me enough times, so I adapted. If this was the only issue I would never be taking the time to post this; the issues I have experienced have gone so far beyond this that they enter the realm of the absurd. 1st problem... I started getting SALES CALLS from the pharmacy, pushing me to refill prescriptions that I didn't need refills for yet. Seriously? Nobody likes receiving sales calls, but your pharmacy calling and pushing you to refill a prescription you haven't refilled in a while blows my mind. Making this even worse is the fact that for some reason most of the calls from this pharmacy are made by a woman with such a thick accent as to be practically incomprehensible. I consider myself patient and pretty good at understanding people, whatever their accent; however, I consider it rude to ask someone to repeat themselves more than twice... if I can't understand what they are saying the first 3 times, I pretty much give up. No joke, I have seriously thought about why this pharmacy seems to use this woman to make outgoing calls... is it because a lot of prescription customers are elderly and when they can't understand what she is saying they just end up agreeing to it? 2nd problem... I had a prescription that needed a renewal. I use the CVS website to refill my prescriptions. I requested a renewal for this prescription, received a confirmation e-mail (I must point out that, unfortunately, these confirmation e-mails never specify what they are confirming) and waited the standard 4-5 days projected for a renewal. I checked the website to see if my prescription had been renewed and it seemed to indicate that I had never requested a renewal. I took my confirmation e-mail in to the pharmacy and inquired on the status. I was told that there was no renewal request for me. I told the man I HAD requested a renewal on the website and showed him my confirmation e-mail. He did not know exactly what to say, but told me that the website does not register the prescriptions sometimes... nice! He told me he would personally fax the renewal request to my Dr in Alameda right away. I waited 4-5 days, checked the website, prescription again did not show as filled. I went in to the pharmacy and inquired on the status of my prescription and was told it had not been renewed yet. I explained my prior attempts to get this prescription renewed. I was told my renewal request was faxed to Auckland rather than Alameda (that is not a joke). The female assured me she would personally fax the renewal request to my Dr right away. I wait 4-5 days, no prescription. Its worth pointing out that this prescription is for a non-generic medication, in other words a major money maker for the pharmacy. At this point I gave up on having this medication renewed here. Third issue... received call from CVS pharmacy, didn't answer it since I don't take sales calls. A few days later I received a msg that my prescription was ready. I had not refilled any prescriptions, at this point I was transferring them to Target in San Ramon (who has been EXCELLENT in EVERY WAY). I called to inquire about this and got the woman who I can't understand. The best I could make out of her answer was, "Aren't you going to need it?". The pharmacy is filling MY prescriptions because THEY want a sale? Seriously? I've contacted CVS through their website regarding these issues multiple times. Quite to my amusement, in relation to the third issue, which had ended my relationship with the CVS pharmacy, CVS later told me that management at the pharmacy had spoken to me on the phone regrading the issues and hoped they were resolved. I assured them that nobody had spoken to me, as I have their number blocked and apparently the management team is lying to them. This is all true. read more

Terrible Promised they would transfer RX from another CVS out of state and never did. I was out of my medication for two days! They make big promises and dangerously cannot keep them. Too busy. Heavy accents cannot understand them and they cannot understand you. Going back to Walgreens Disaster! read more

I dislike this pharmacy so much. If I could rate it less I would. Two women cashiers in particular. They are a little older, have been there for ever, one is blond & one brunette. They are both nasty, inconsiderate, snappy and shouldn't be in this line of work. I keep telling myself I'll give them one more chance & gosh darn if it doesn't happen again. This last time the brunette was snappy I said, " gee when I went to pharmacy school way back, they did not teach us to be this nasty" this gal did change her tune & couldn't have been nicer. But this is uncalled for, they are here to help us, they should have a little more patience with their customers, if they can't handle working with the public they should not be in this business. I can't remember when either one of them were NICE through out the entire transaction. read more

This has to be the worst pharmacy I have every been. Our insurance has dropped Rite Aid and Walgreens, which are great and I have recently changed to CVS. The lady working the window, Josette, is SO rude and unhelpful to customers. One gentlemen in line thought it weird he could find his prescription, she was so mean telling him it was too bad and not her problem and sent him to wait in another line at another window. I was apparently not standing the the correct place for the line and she chastised me for that. She was talking smack about another customer to the lady in front of me telling her how she had to tell the lady off. It is clearly and unhappy work environment because when I was sent to the other side to talk to who I think was the pharmacist she was very unhelpful too!!! I will be moving my prescriptions somewhere else! I miss Rite Aid and Walgreens!!! read more

This is my go to drug store. It's clean. The manager is very helpful, WHEN HE"S AROUND. I do agree with others that checking out is ALWAYS an issue. ALWAYS! The cashiers just don't care about the customers time. The heavy set man-like clerk with the very short grayish hair has to be the worst by far. I'm giving 4 stars because this place is close to my house, the pharmacy is fantastic, and the manager is accommodating. It beats Walgreens across the street which is very old and cluttered but has better customer service but less product. If I could just combine the two! read more

This place is TERRIBLE.... I have (and currently am) on hold for 15 minutes. The pharmacist is rude and unfriendly. I have a very simple request to add an ID number that they need to process my transaction to the account..... I have to wait for a tech? why cant the person that answered the phone take down a 10 digit number?? Went to get a vaccination booster shot. Was told they were back ordered until Monday. Called Tuesday - waited on hold for 25 minutes before I talked to a human. The staff member told me they didn't have the vaccine but i could get it at their Minute Clinic. Called their Minute Clinic and ended up in auto attendant hell. Never did get through. I try to do everything mail order but i can't get a shot mail order. read more

The staff at both the Danville location and the Orinda location are poorly trained. They are not helpful, don't know how to add staff when there are people in line, and generally not up to snuff on customer service. I complained and the "District Manager" called; he promptly began interrupting me and arguing. Clearly, he doesn't know how to provide proper customer service either. I will not go to CVS again. We have other choices in Walgreen's Rite-Aid and The Medicine Shoppe. Too bad the Elephant Pharmacy didn't last. In this economy customer service counts for a lot. But, not at CVS. read more

This place draws the weirdest crowd sometimes. The employees are always sort of meh. One time I went here to print out some photos at their little machine thing and the lady behind the counter yelled at me for not knowing the employee code to get it to print myself. Seriously? How does that make sense? Either don't set a password on the machine or post it somewhere so people don't have to ask or... I don't know, don't be a dick about having to do your job? Handy place to pickup prescriptions after doctor visits in the area. Nice staff and they have all the standard CVS fare - good prices for routine stuff that you need daily and the occasional Rx needs that are needed in short order. Pharmacy staff is most helpful. read more

They've gone downhill since changing from Longs, but overall they're ok. They fill prescriptions in a timely manner and are fairly pleasant to deal with. The only real issue is that the lines to pick up prescriptions can be pretty long, but that seems to be common everywhere. Not my favorite place to go, but certainly convenient and not offensive. read more
