Vitamin water (2.19) has an unnatural taste . Artificial sugar?
    Victor G.

the good is that CVS is open for long hours though the pharmacy may not be. the bad-pricing isn't cheap, inventory available isn't that diverse, healthy nor fresh. (see notice of checking with sell by date to insure freshness) buys: vitamin water (2.19) -not a lot of calories but has a funny taste, probably from the artificial sugar substitutes they use. there's lot of parking notice Covid vaccines may be available to patrons with insurance.... pharmaceuticals aren't cheap, that's how they make their $$/

The complexity of some of these prescriptions is vital to someone's health, such as the one I was picking up I'm raising my score up to a three now because of the character of the individuals I encountered were more similar to the ones I've had experience with before.

I had a very frustrating experience at this CVS Pharmacy today. I arrived at 12:26 PM to pick up a…read moreprescription medication, and the pharmacy refused to help me because they were closing for lunch at 12:30 PM. What I don't understand is why CVS posts that the pharmacy closes from 12:30-1:30 PM, yet the staff is actually shutting things down 5-10 minutes early. We drove out of our way to pick up this medication, only to be turned away. The employee said they needed "five minutes to close and lock up," but all that happened was the gate being pulled down--which took about 30 seconds. Meanwhile, there were people in line, including families with kids, who were also trying to get their prescriptions. What made the situation worse was the attitude of the staff. They were extremely rude, dismissive, and showed zero compassion toward customers who had taken the time to come in before the posted closing time. No one seemed to care that patients rely on these medications. If the pharmacy truly needs to stop serving customers 5-10 minutes before 12:30, then that should be clearly posted. Otherwise, refusing service to people who arrive before the stated closing time is unacceptable. I hope higher management looks into this, because this level of service is incredibly disappointing for a pharmacy where people depend on timely access to their medications.

I asked a female employee wearing glasses about a promotion on hair dye products. Her explanation completely contradicted the promotional information clearly displayed on the price tag. Due to the inconsistency, I decided not to purchase the product. At this point, she told me I needed to put the item back myself. Honestly, I thought I had misheard her, as I had never encountered this situation in any store before. Of course, I asked again, "Are you telling me to put it back myself?" She firmly replied, "Yes, because you're not buying it." This was the first time I've experienced something like this, and I found her attitude very rude and unprofessional. In my opinion, she is not suited for customer facing sales work. Ironically, her attitude was more like giving orders than providing customer service. In short, this experience left me with a very bad impression and severely impacted my shopping experience. I immediately went to a nearby Safeway , where the same product was not only cheaper but the service was also as attentive as always.

However, when our family need one-off prescriptions filled (after urgent care visits, etc.), we tend to go to either CVS/Walgreens and the likes. Yesterday evening, after a Pediatric Urgent Care visit for our kiddo, we were given a prescription that was sent to CVS inside Target. They then told us they can't fill it and we need to go to a main store like CVS/Walgreens that is a standalone brick and mortar store (meaning not inside another store). After calling several nearby CVS/Walgreens standalone stores, no one can fill the prescription. Finally, someone mentioned to us that we need a "compounding pharmacy". We Yelped for a compounding pharmacy and called Diablo Pharmacy, which was still open. Unfortunately, Diablo Pharmacy had one of the main ingredients listed in the prescription in powder form, which isn't the liquid form called out in the prescription (that's a no go for us since the Urgent Care physician confirmed the powder form wouldn't be as effective). Although we didn't fill our kiddo's prescription with this pharmacy due to one ingredient needed that wasn't an exact match as the one prescribed, we felt that this business deserves the five star rating. They were great to work with and for that, we're grateful for.

I sincerely hope his leadership recognizes his value--he absolutely deserves it, and honestly, a promotion too!

I was told the Pharmacy Manager wasn't available, so I asked to speak with any manager. The manager told me he thinks the Pharmacy Manager's name was "Lau" (he spelled it) and that the pharmacist answering the phones might be "Shemma." I told him that I had already been disconnected multiple times and was just trying to get my prescription. The manager wasn't rude, but it didn't really feel like I was talking to someone who was concerned about fixing the issue. I expected a little more urgency since why are the pharmacy staff acting like they answering calls and disconnecting them on "accident". Instead, the only solution offered was to transfer me back to the pharmacy and let them know I was waiting on the phone. When someone answered, I asked if her name was Shemma. She immediately responded, "Nope," and transferred me. I was connected to Shemma. I realized she wasn't the same person that had disconnected my earlier calls because her voice sounded different from the employee who had answered before. Since Shemma stayed on the line, I decided to ask about my medication and a possible prescription transfer between Walgreens locations. I explained that my regular Walgreens told me that if this location had the medication in stock, they could request the prescription transfer. Shemma told me, "No, I can't do that. Call that Walgreens to transfer it." This completely conflicted with what I had already been told, and I felt like I was being talked over. My biggest concern is still the employee who initially answered the phone. After one of the disconnections, I called back and asked for her name first because I wanted to know who was disconnecting the calls. I figured if the call got disconnected again, at least I would know who I had spoken with. When I asked for her name, she responded, "Sure," and the call was disconnected. This is another reason I strongly recommend asking for the employee's name at the beginning of the call. I feel like people are less tough when they know you know who they are. If you need to follow up, file a complaint, or reference a specific interaction, having the employee's name can make that process a lot easier. With that being said, I don't need my prescription to be filled here anymore. Goodluck to ya if you have to call this pharmacy.
