I had the worse experience tonight with Connie at drive thru she is so rude , this isn't the first time she has been rude. I was picking up meds for my wife who was just released from emergency and Connie was so rude , one of the prescriptions was over the counter , and she had to say it over and over 3 times that it's not covered on insurance I didn't ask that please just get what the dr ordered and ring me up ! The people in the pharmacy here are very nice, very overworked and extremely short staffed (their words) All rx from Rite Aid was transferred to Walgreens & they are trying to keep up but wow. Their customer service over the phone was not good. I was on hold for 40minutes and never talked to a representative.

We have been going there for YEARS 15+, it's close to our house and has the drive through, however it always takes forever, on so many occasions the customer service in the pharmacy is just awful. It seems as though it's one of the head ladies that works there that is just horrible. She's not helpful and extremely condescending. She clearly hates her job. I started getting my prescriptions shipped to avoid the lines, and they would only send 10-15 pills per my 30 pill prescription. I would then have issues with my insurance getting the 2nd half of my pills for the remainder of the month. And if I did work it out I'd have to pay the shipping fees again. Thyroid medication is not good to be on and off of constantly. I spent hours trying to work things out. I switched over to Amazon which gets delivered for free without a hitch or an attitude. Total disaster, it shouldn't be this difficult. Should be an embarrassment for the Walgreens brand If you have essential medications do not use this as your primary pharmacy!! read more

This is by far the worst Pharmacy I've ever experienced in my life. They never have anything on time. Forget to refill prescriptions, never answer the phone, and the staff are always confused about what's going on. Huge disappointment for a pharmacy that makes it look like it's so easy because of their drive-through. Completely disappointed and every time I come in, there's somebody complaining. Absolutely horrible customer service and no accountability. My wife is a teacher and had a parent who was extremely generous with her. She went to this specific Walgreens and bought her a gift card with a large sum of money on it. Unknown to everyone a scammer had removed the silver tab over the card number, took the number down and replaced the silver tab. Once the card was activated by the purchase the parent made, the scammer was then able to use the card. My wife went to use the Dick's sporting good gift card and the Dick's employee indicated their were no funds on the card and after further investigation was able to identify that the silver tab had been replaced (she mentioned this was the fourth or fifth one she had seen). After returning to Walgreens to inquire about this, the manager was suppose to call us back. Not only did they not call us, but when we went back in she basically said not our fault go back to Dick's. All of the cards are out in the open (unlike their goods that are in cases locked, protecting their bottom line), but we stood there for almost 5 minutes and no one was even around. Going to Corporate Walgreens we were asked to provide a number of documents, which we did along with the parent who purchased this. Again, no accountability. We loaded the card for you and from there not our problem. It is their problem as they clearly have no security on these gift cards and who knows how many of them are already compromised. Not only will we not be buying a gift card from there again, but we will never spend a dime with Walgreens again. The manager for this store was not helpful, took no accountability for the lack of security, and provided poor customer service by not even making a call to try and resolve the issues. read more

Without exception, Walgreens has the worst service I could ever imagine experiencing. Especially for a medical support company. I don't think I've ever waiting less than a half hour in line and I'd say 75% of the time the prescriptions aren't ready or can't be found- even after a confirmation text. Just transferred to this Walgreens' pharmacy. It was easy to transfer online. My previous pharmacy of over 20 years changed their answering system to something that I do not even recognize. Had to go. When I called this Walgreens, they answered in a reasonable amount of time and were very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. This is a major relief when talking about important medications. I reckon all medications are important, or else we wouldn't bother. Very satisfied, highly recommend. read more

I do not recommend this pharmacy at all. They are downright cruel to people who need their medications. I am going out of the country, my doctor added a note that I need to pick up my meds (or even a few pills) a couple of days early. The woman I spoke with tonight told me that notwithstanding my doctor's orders, they could not put the prescription through early unless I called my insurance. So I called my insurance; they were on hold with Walgreens for over 25 minutes, and, even though both my insurance and doctor tried to override Walgreens' rule about picking up the prescription a couple of days early, Walgreens said no to both of them. How can a pharmacy have this kind of power? All I want is to be able to leave the country knowing I won't miss doses while I am gone. But Walgreens seems to be so incompetent that they cannot do their jobs. I was a client of Pharmaca before, and sadly, am now with Walgreens, because Pharmaca transferred all their patients here when they were suddenly closed. I feel so unfortunate I have to deal with this horrible, CRUEL pharmacy. They should not be in business and the employee I spoke with tonight (rude, did not care, condescending) should not be working with the public. Shame on you, Walgreens, for being so inhumane and somehow not understanding how to do a simple task. Not even my doctor could convince them to give me my prescription a day or two early! I even offered to pay out of pocket, but the woman said, "I wouldn't recommend it." I am so desperate to have enough medication while out of the country, I asked her, "You wouldn't recommend it, or it's not possible?" To which she responded, "You can't do it," then told me to call my insurance company (who they denied in the end, anyhow). Then she abruptly ended the call. Writing a 2 star review is no fun, it took 3 1 star experiences for me to write this review. This fall I had a prescription that I brought in and they told me that it would take two hours so i left. When I came back two days later they told me it was for an off the shelf medication. Their utter lack of respect for my health and time was frustrating to say the least. How can a pharmacist be so incompetent? Strike 1 I use injectable vitamin B-12 and I used to get them at Costco, but during the pandemic I had the prescription switched to Walgreens. The pharmacist called my home and asked for my insurance info and it was not convenient so I asked the charge of the medication and was told $11.99. So i said skip it that I would pay full price. But when I got there the charge was $24.00, the approximate amount that Costco charges for 2 months with NO insurance. I asked the pharmacy person how many vials were in the bag and she said "I do not know". Really? you do not know how to read a prescription? I usually get 3 months so I assumed that this was for several vials and gave her my money, then I saw only one vial in the bag. A pharmacist should be able to read a prescription label. Strike 2 I called to let them know about the employee that does not know how to read and ask about some things and there was a helpful lady, Brittney that answered and she left a message for me (+1 star). When I tried to return the call I spent 15 minutes on hold from my land line. Then I picked up my cell phone and called while the land line was waiting. They did not pick up the calls in the order they were received, and that land line sat there with nobody answering it for 30 minutes. Strike 3 Walgreens you can do better, and you should. read more

I am a physician I was calling in a prescription. I was on hold for 8min and then I thought it must be an error so I called back and now I am on hold for greater than 8min It is strange that no one answers quickly. Once I got through at 8min minute mark on the second call I was put on hold again because the pharmacist was on the line. I wonder if Walgreens is not able to hire enough pharmacists? read more

Went to the pharmacy she even called for someone to come help me nothing. I went to look for someone nobody was around to help me. So I left went to cvs found the inhaler got help getting it asap. Had a pretty appalling experience there. They gave my meds to someone else. I told them I never picked up my script and they called me a liar and named the time they gave to someone else. And of course they charged my card anyway! Thing is both my spouse and I were out of town at the time they claimed I picked it up! How they fucked this bad is beyond me! Incompetent and unethical employees I guess. Maybe one of them took it! Never use them unless you want the risk of NEVER getting your script. Total clown show. I'll never use them again obviously. I've already filed a complaint with the CA agency that regulates pharmacies. I have zero faith a gov't regulator will do shit to investigate and mete out punishment (this is incredibly dangerous if they just gave a prescription it to a random person), so posting my experience here. read more

I've used many pharmacies and this Walgreens has been the absolute worst one I've ever been in. First of all, you can never get ahold of the pharmacy. I will call multiple times, be left on hold for literally 30 minutes just for it to hang up on me and have to do the same thing over again. The line is always so long and only one or two people are helping customers. The staff acts depressed or seems like it's such a burden to them to help out without any attitude. The manager looks like and acts like she is on something herself and it's just really giving off ghetto vibes which is unfortunate because it's in beautiful Encinitas. Estimated 3 minute wait-time, currently pushing 20 minutes.... better than the last time where they were just picking up the phone and putting it back on hold every few minutes (I assume to avoid getting in trouble by corporate for keeping people on hold for too long?) This pharmacy only qualifies for a 0 star rating. My prescriptions were automatically transferred there when my pharmacy closed. Every time I have had to deal with them they have put up road blocks to getting my prescriptions filled. It's not time to refill, there is a problem with insurance, they are out of stock...etc, and what one employee tells you on how to resolve the situation the next employee refuses stating "I'm not responsible for what another employee says"?? My doctor's office must call them multiple times on my behalf. So today I decided to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy. That would be fine except the new pharmacy told me that they have been trying to transfer prescriptions for a week from this store and they will not pick up their phone! Had an appt at the pharmacy. Was told my insurance didn't cover it, which I thought was odd. Called my insurance ans it's covered at Walgreens. After handing the pharmacy tech my medical insurance card he asked for the prescription one and said it's not covered. Anyway just a ridiculous amount of time wasted. I then proceeded to check out with one item at the front and there was no one there to help. I had to look through the aisles and still couldn't find anyone. Also No self checkout!! BOYCOTT AND CLOSE WALGREENS FOREVER! RIPOFF/OPPRESSION/FRAUD. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT at the Encinitas store. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO SPEND HOURS AND HOURS OF THEIR TIME TO SPEND MONEY AT WALGREENS. Your purchase is not safe from Walgreens. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. CORPORATE IS UNREASONABLE AND EVEN WORSE. After returning a purchase with receipt, Walgreens would only give me a gift card. Walgreens refused to return my money. Other stores have no problem with this I find. Finding nothing in the store to buy for about a year, I received a call from manager Cynthia as I emailed and called corporate. I found items on the website not there prior asking Cynthia to order them with the gift card. She said I had to come in the store to do this. I went in the Encinitas store, went through unbelievable measures having to open and account including typing my phone number about 8 times, filling out their form, answering questions, receiving and entering text codes etc., etc. only to find after 2.5 hours, the computer refused to allow the purchase of the items manager Cynthia told me it would allow. This corporation is beyond incompetent! The double pony tail/heavy set night manger has a huge ego how they can do no wrong and I should have appreciated everyone trying to help me where I wasted my time on these dumbo's. Cynthia never followed up with me leaving the store after I arrived. The employees didn't know what they were doing including the night manager. Cynthia should have paid for the purchases from her own pocket, call her CEO for help or just give me my money back right there so I wouldn't have had to be so inconvenienced. Both Cynthia and the night manager are terrible managers and grossly incompetent. read more

The pharmacy customer service is ATROCIOUS. I was trying to explain something today to a female pharmacy staff member who continued to talk over me. I couldn't get a word in edgewise as she continued her loud and rambling diatribe about all the reasons she couldn't help me. She wouldn't even stop when I BEGGED her to let me speak. It was crazy. I seriously wondered if there was something wrong with the phone connection. I thought maybe if I raised my voice she would stop talking and let me speak. Nope. She hung up on me. This comes after years of enduring rude staff and constant turnaround because I preferred the convenience of a drive-thru pharmacy. The treatment I received today is the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm finally running--not walking--away and taking my business with me. Maybe CVS staff will treat me with common decency when I simply want to refill my prescriptions. Here's to hoping. read more

I got so pissed at this place for screwing up my prescriptions I had them transferred to another pharmacy. When they transferred them they told the new pharmacy I had zero refills even though I actually had 11 refills. The new pharmacy called them but Walgreen's could not figure it out and still said I had zero refills. So then I called them to explain and then they said right you have 11 refills. So why did they tell the new pharmacy I had zero twice? I had to tell them GET IT DONE. My last prescription here cost me $85, now it costs $25. Walgreen's is totally incompetent, stay very far away. read more

Disgrace. Scheduled appointment for Covid test online. I show up and drive through is closed - a sign is blocking it. I call store and wait on hold for a while. Then their system hangs up on me. So much for honoring appointments. Meanwhile I needed test today and it's very hard to find another place on a Sunday afternoon without having already made an appointment. If they decide to close for a bit, at least call. They had my number. They obviously just don't care. Less important - the store is run down and dingy. I hope the prescription area is clean. read more
