5/18/26 After some really savory Chinese food, this spit is just a few doors down and perfect for dessert. Walked in either friends to check out their menu. I wanted soft serve. Staff are friendly and welcoming, attentive and kept the place tidy, clean & organized. The wonderful smell of fresh waffle cone wafted in the air-it was intoxicating. I got matcha & ube soft serve-- what a huge portion! I couldn't finish it. It was so good though! Not too sweet. Each flavor was distinctive and enjoyable. There's no restroom inside the shop but the plaza has public restrooms and dedicated parking, limit 4 hours, free. Would likely return if the mood strikes and if in the area

Great quality matcha desserts! Really enjoy their soft serve ice cream and the Ube Swirl is my favorite as well as super photogenic! This cafe is located near the AMC in Monterey Park in their restaurant and shopping alley. Service is quick and friendly and the store has a few seats with cute murals. It's nearby a lot of other shops too so good to grab food and get some sweets here.
Massive amount of soft serve. Pretty to look at but not very flavorful. Stopped by after dinner with friends a ride the street and enjoyed the ice cream but did not find it to be the tastiest. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the space bright and modern. It is well priced at 8.00 for q large ube and matcha soft serve that is definitely meant to be shared.
I got the Hojicha Tea Float and wow! For $8-9, you definitely get the value! This drink dessert is huge and can be shared. The height of the ice cream was almost the same heighy as the cup! I had to ask for an extra cup to hold it all! The quality of the matcha was great, very sweet and creamy. I also really enjoyed the hojicha too. This is in the Atlantic Times Square. There's a lot of seating and tables here for you to enjoy.
So good! For my first time here, I got a basic matcha latte and a matcha soft serve to go. The order was made so quickly that I barely finished paying when the barista told me they were ready! Both the cashier and barista were really friendly in the short interaction we had together. I always get no ice wherever I go because I don't like my drinks watered down by ice. While many matcha places will just underfill my cup to keep their proportions correct, this place filled it up to the brim. The matcha was so strong and flavorful too! The soft serve was really smooth with a strong flavor as well. My only gripe would be with the to go container for the soft serve. The lid was sliding/lifting off and soft serve kept running down the sides of the cup. I would suggest maybe taping down the cover or putting it in a small plastic bag to help catch all the runoff if you do end up taking it home. I will definitely be back to try some of their other drinks and soft serve flavors!

Came around 9ish? Got the mix with vanilla and matcha. I think if i got matcha on its own itd be too strong. Actually, This mightve been the reason why i couldnt sleep. The vanilla and matcha was a good combo. Got the waffle cone but when the softserve melted inside the cone, it started dripping. Gotta eat it fast if you dont want ice cream everywhere. also, Love the pokemon pictures they have in here.
Located at the Atlantic Times Square plaza with garage parking available. I got the matcha latte float which is such a steal. The matcha ice cream was really smooth and creamy. And once I finished I had the matcha latte to enjoy. I think getting the float is a better deal than just getting the drink or ice cream separately. Staff was also very friendly and nice

I love the little Tokyo location and I was thrilled when I saw they were opening up a location in Atlantic time square! They are Soooo generous with their servings here, totally worth the value. Highly highly recommend bringing someone along with you to split an order. They are just that massive! I got myself a matcha latte with vanilla matcha swirl ice cream. Had to ask for an extra cup because I couldn't handle the mountain of ice cream on top. My matcha latte was perfection!!! Not overly sweet, great matcha flavors, and the ice cream on top melting into the drinks adds so much more creaminess to the drink! Can't wait to try more items!!! The doors are kinda heavy, and you have to really pull/push to open it lol read more
The first time I went to Matcha Cafe Maiko was several years ago in Honolulu, and their matcha was outstanding! So I'm really excited they opened one in east LA. It's definitely a great place to sit down and enjoy matcha, and they have an extensive list to order! Unfortunately, a few of their items don't taste good at all. I ordered a few unique and safe items and I realized their safe choices are the way to go I.e matcha latte and their matcha soft serves. The matcha lemonade was way too sour, and their special matcha dessert just overwhelmed the matcha itself and there were too many pieces that didn't feel like they belong and the matcha bread was overly dry. I'll definitely come back but just for the lattes and soft serves! read more

Stopped by on Saturday, 05/30/26. This is my first time at this location (located at the Atlantic Times Square shopping plaza, across from Daiso). There is another location at Rowland Heights which I have been before. I ordered 1 matcha soft-serve which was $7.55 TAX = $0.79 OVERALL TOTAL = $8.34 So worth it - the portions were generously HUGE! I shared it with my mom and we were so full. Honestly this is good for 3 people. The matcha here is extremely authentic - one of the best in SoCal. 5/5! I want to try out everything!!!!! read more

Friendly service and yummy options. Shaved ice, cups and cones. We had Ube and Matcha ice cream. The place was not busy, so the floors and tables should have been a little cleaner. Service was great. We'll be back. read more

Stopped by for a matcha soft serve and it was pretty much exactly what I wanted. Good matcha flavor, not overly sweet, not bitter either. Balanced. The place itself is small, clean, and has a nice vibe. A few seats, some cute murals, and friendly staff. There was a line when I came, but it was Sunday afternoon, so no surprise there. I've always liked the Little Tokyo location and honestly did a double take when I saw this one. Maybe they're connected, maybe not. I could be mixing things up. One thing to know: no restroom inside the shop, but the plaza has public restrooms. Also plenty of free parking Price-wise... yeah, maybe a little high for soft serve. Then again, I still bought it and ate the whole thing, so I guess it wasn't that overpriced Would I drive across town just for it? Probably not. But if I'm in the plaza and craving matcha, absolutely. read more
This spot is located in Atlantic Time Square, and the soft serve here was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Maiko Special with a mix of ube and sesame soft serve, and it was such a fun and interesting dessert. What made it unique was the layering, on top was the soft serve, beneath that a cake-like layer, and at the bottom something similar to chè. Each layer had a distinct texture and flavor, making every bite different. Everything was well-balanced, not overly sweet, and very satisfying. Portions were fairly large, and it made for a great treat. Definitely something I'd order again. read more
Turns out, I didn't know they had a Matcha Maiko here in Monterey Park, no longer needed to head all the way to Rowland Heights, this spot is in the Atlantic Time Square right across from other food spots, perfect for a post meal treat. Parking - Free in a huge underground lot, plenty around This is one of the most popular spots for matcha and rightfully so. It's a great collaboration between ice cream and matcha drinks itself. Service is damn quick here, I got my drink in about 5 minutes despite the cafe being super busy. Quality here is amazing, very similar to the Rowland spot. I love the matcha latte here, even without the ice cream float, it's still very tasty. If you like high quality matcha type drinks, this is the spot to go. Certainly a nice collaboration between ice cream and matcha, definitely worth checking them out. read more
Soft serve portions are fairly large. Located in the Atlantic Time Square, tons of parking underground. Matcha Ube Swirl (soft serve)- seemed overpriced for what it is. Matcha portion is pretty grainy and leaves a weird waxy film on spoon as you eat it, I ordered mine in a cup. Ube portion was good, not too sweet. Banana Cream Matcha Latte -tasted as I expected it to. Matcha wasn't bad and wasn't amazing. read more
I stopped by Matcha Cafe Maiko for the first time yesterday, Sunday 1/18/2026 at around 2:45 PM with my girlies. I ended up ordering: Matcha Latte medium less ice $7.40 ($8.18 including tax) - pricey and comes in a super small cup. The matcha tastes good quality, not astringent or grainy, and they did put enough scoops. It also had a nice rich green color. However, just be aware that regular sweet here leans on the sweet side and this is coming from someone who usually gets fully sweetened drinks. Those in my friend group who got drinks thought their drinks were on the sweet so just be sure to ask for less sweet. Customer service: Decent, pretty straight forward interaction with the staff member. Store Interior: Not really impressed. Simple with a few seating booths with tables inside. It was stuffy inside and they had the door opened. It eventually cooled down, but it was hot for some time. We were able to get a table and got to stay for some time to chat. Tip: Be sure to get your stamp card! All in all, I thought the matcha was good, but pricey. If I were to come back, I'd try something new like the soft serve or hochicha! read more

This location seems new and there was only one worker running the whole store so it took a while to get our drink on a Saturday afternoon. I love Matcha Cafe Maiko, and I am so happy that a branch of the restaurant finally opened in Monterey Park. Typically I could only go once every few months but now I can go more often. It is very close to Big Way Hot Pot, which already serves ice cream complimentary, so I came on a day that I did not go to Big Way Hot Pot. Matcha Cafe Maiko is a very small establishment, but with it only serving dessert that's ok. The service was super fast and efficient. I ended up sharing a parfait with my wife. She got matcha and black sesame flavors. The black sesame was amazing. The matcha actually had the mild matcha bitterness that I love, which is frequently missing from dessert establishments. I came here right after lunch and I should've waited a bit longer bc it was a HUGE ice cream cone! It was a pretty good soft serve and not too sweet which made it taste that much better. Yummy dessert spot in Monterey Park... Another addition to the area filled with mostly boba drinks and in this plaza so it is nice that there is ice cream. Our old go to place further down closed down and we enjoyed their soft serve. Matcha cafe sits right across from Daiso. The place was busy for a Saturday night but our items came quick. They definitely do not skimp on the toppings and we ordered the Maiko Special. Enjoyed the crunch from the corn flakes and it breaks the sweetness from the red bean. This was enough for 3 people to share. There is plenty of seating inside and outside as well. The only reason why I am dropping a star is because they ran out of Matcha soft serve. I think if your place's niche is based on one ingredient, you should make sure that you have plenty of that ingredient stocked. The ube ice cream was a good substitute. Definitely worth checking them out! Plenty of ample parking in the parking structure below. read more
I was a fan of this chain when I lived in San Diego so I was thrilled to learn they were bringing it to the SGV! It's nestled among the shops and restaurants at Atlantic Times Square. The spot isn't super big so I image it can get difficult to find seats when it gets super busy. When my friend and I went on a Thursday evening, we got the only table that was available. Matcha/ube ice cream - 9/10. It was a HUGE swirl that I couldn't finish in time before it began melting. I definitely recommend sharing a cone since the portion is super generous. The taste of both flavors was solid. I didn't know until I was halfway done with my ice cream that toppings were available for free. The worker didn't mention it or ask if I wanted any. My only real complaint is that the lights here are WAY too bright. Like, dramatically so. I'm light-sensitive and get migraines with bright lights, so I started to feel unwell after 15 minutes here. If we're comparing matcha quality and grades though, I would say Meccha Matcha in Artesia is just as good, if not better. Honestly, I didn't love my strawberry matcha here - I feel like I've had better matcha drinks elsewhere, but that's just me. The matcha latte had a strong matcha taste. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. It may be a little too sweet for some. ESP for those that prefers little to no sugar. The hojicha latte was less sweet. It had a strong hojicha flavor to it. For those who prefer less caffeine and less sweet, hojicha would be a good option. I enjoyed both drinks. I've been looking forward to the arrival of Matcha Cafe Maiko in the Atlantic Times Square! My friend and I stopped by for dessert on Saturday at around 7pm. We ordered at the counter and received our items within a few minutes. Customer service was quick and the staff offered stamp cards for future visits. We found a table and spent a little over an hour there. The space's bright, yet hollow, so we had to speak up. There's seating for pairs and small groups, but it does get full because of foot traffic and peak times. Since it was my first time visiting Matcha Cafe Maiko, I wanted to try their famous matcha soft serve. I ordered the Matcha Maiko Special ($13.76), which was piled high with matcha soft serve, chestnut, mochi ball, sponge cake, corn flakes, red bean, agar jelly, and kuromitsu syrup. It's definitely a shareable item. I thought the parfait was a bit top heavy with the soft serve, and I would've liked more soft serve in the middle of the parfait to balance the toppings in the cup. But it was still so tasty! The soft serve was rich, smooth, slightly sweet, and gave me a caffeine boost. The toppings added texture; albeit the mochi ball was kind of firm and the sponge cake was dry. I'd order the parfait again, but mix the soft serve flavors to get more variety. read more

Mmmmmm ice cream on a cold day sounds amazing! lol tried this place while it was 60 degrees outside and raining and it just felt good in the belly lol. It was a lil over priced just for (2) Waffle Ice Cream Cones of Ube & Vanilla. Cost me about $14-15 in total. But the taste says it all. May be a little overpriced but it tasted delicious! Would definitely return back here during the Summer Season while it's warm and hot outside The service here was very fast and efficient. We just finished ordering and then 1 second later... they called our number and it was like finished with a snap of a finger! Highly recommended this place to all Ice Cream Lovers and especially Matcha Lovers out there to give this place a try! read more
I was craving a matcha drink but Rowland Heights was too far, but then i found out there is a Matcha Cafe Maiko right here hiding in Monterey Park the whole time!! It's tucked inside Atlantic Times Square, so prepare for a descent into the underground parking garage. Service was fast... our drinks were out in about 4 minutes. The hubby went full fancy w the Maiko Special featuring ube and matcha, while I satisfied my craving w a Matcha Latte. Both were ever so good; quality is just as top-tier as the Rowland Heights location. If you like high-quality matcha, consider this your new spot!! Highly recommend! read more
This chain place has truly expanded since the last time I've been in MPK! Good matcha and ube swirl and it is BIG. The ice cream has a good matcha flavor--I'm not too much of a fan of ube but it is also well done as a flavor. Good value for sure. Tried out their matcha latte float ($8.45) and upgraded it to a large size for $1. We went towards closing time so there was no wait and service was quick. We got our drink within minutes after paying. There is seating inside. The matcha is very strong and tastes authentic. The one downside is the amount of ice in the drink. After taking it out, the cup was half empty. read more

Love their matcha ice cream!!! I was so surprised to see that they opened one at this location. There was no line around 5pm. Staff member was very friendly and I also got a stamp card. They have so many items to choose from and lot of new flavors too. I got the matcha latte float ($10.45 total). The matcha ice cream was so creamy and full of strong matcha flavor, not bitter. The matcha latte itself was much lighter in flavor compared to the ice cream. Seemed a little watered down and not very milky. There was also a lot of ice. It's my first time trying their latte. I wonder how their other lattes are. Lots of seats inside and cute murals! It was quiet and easy to have conversations there. read more

I ordered the ube matcha swirl parfait and it was delicious! The parfait had different textures to it and wasn't all just ice cream so it was easy to eat. The parfait contained cereal flakes, mochi balls, red bean and chest nut. The ice cream wasn't too sweet either. Service was excellent! We received our orders within 5 minutes of ordering. There is plenty of seating in the store. A lot of families hang out here it seems. The store is located at Atlantic Times Square and you can find parking in the parking garage of Atlantic Times Square. read more
A great matcha cafe at the Atlantic time square. I love that it's open pretty late - up to 10 pm on a Sunday. Who needs sleep anyways - just get caffeinated. I love that the plaza has plenty of parking and it's generally a safe plaza to be in. The cafe is spacious, bright and play 90s pop music. The tables are nice a wide and I didn't feel cramped. I do feel like there's nothing to absorb sound, so you definitely have to project when talking - and since everyone's projecting a little, it seems like a shouting match. Definitely not a problem for me, since I'm so obnoxious, but it can be something to think about if you're with someone more timid. The matcha itself I pretty good. I got the matcha latte float because I couldn't decide if I wanted a drink or soft serve. So I got the best of both worlds. It set me back about $9, before tip. The matcha does give a kick to the back of the throat, for those who like their matcha strong, you know what I mean. I wish the soft serve was a little thicker - it was just a tad icyer than I expected. I need the matcha to take me back to Uji! I definitely will visit again read more
