    Ube soft serve
    Net A.

092/2026/May Offers a variety of their one of a kind Matcha sweetness in their beverages , shaved ice, as well as soft served ice cream!! My Ube soft serve was delicious and the generous serving I got in a cone had a left over as a smoothie for hubby !!!

5/18/26 After some really savory Chinese food, this spit is just a few doors down and perfect for dessert. Walked in either friends to check out their menu. I wanted soft serve. Staff are friendly and welcoming, attentive and kept the place tidy, clean & organized. The wonderful smell of fresh waffle cone wafted in the air-it was intoxicating. I got matcha & ube soft serve-- what a huge portion! I couldn't finish it. It was so good though! Not too sweet. Each flavor was distinctive and enjoyable. There's no restroom inside the shop but the plaza has public restrooms and dedicated parking, limit 4 hours, free. Would likely return if the mood strikes and if in the area

Ambiance: it's a trendy desserts shop, hot and humid inside no air conditioning running for a very hot day, tables were dirty without being cleaned promptly Service: slow and careless, it took a while to place the order and their pick up was chaotic when there's people ordering similar items Food: their menu is specialized in matcha ice cream and drinks MAIKO SPECIAL - *** Soft Serve of Matcha and Vanilla, Chewy Mochi balls, chestnut, and sweet red bean, Matcha sponge cake, crispy corn flakes, and agar jelly soaked in kuromitsu syrup, average taste Soft-Serve Ice Cream - *** mix of ube and matcha Price: overpriced for the quality, not worth $25+ for two orders

Great quality matcha desserts! Really enjoy their soft serve ice cream and the Ube Swirl is my favorite as well as super photogenic! This cafe is located near the AMC in Monterey Park in their restaurant and shopping alley. Service is quick and friendly and the store has a few seats with cute murals. It's nearby a lot of other shops too so good to grab food and get some sweets here.

Massive amount of soft serve. Pretty to look at but not very flavorful. Stopped by after dinner with friends a ride the street and enjoyed the ice cream but did not find it to be the tastiest. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the space bright and modern. It is well priced at 8.00 for q large ube and matcha soft serve that is definitely meant to be shared.

Hojicha Tea Float with matcha and taro soft serve

I got the Hojicha Tea Float and wow! For $8-9, you definitely get the value! This drink dessert is huge and can be shared. The height of the ice cream was almost the same heighy as the cup! I had to ask for an extra cup to hold it all! The quality of the matcha was great, very sweet and creamy. I also really enjoyed the hojicha too. This is in the Atlantic Times Square. There's a lot of seating and tables here for you to enjoy.

So good! For my first time here, I got a basic matcha latte and a matcha soft serve to go. The order was made so quickly that I barely finished paying when the barista told me they were ready! Both the cashier and barista were really friendly in the short interaction we had together. I always get no ice wherever I go because I don't like my drinks watered down by ice. While many matcha places will just underfill my cup to keep their proportions correct, this place filled it up to the brim. The matcha was so strong and flavorful too! The soft serve was really smooth with a strong flavor as well. My only gripe would be with the to go container for the soft serve. The lid was sliding/lifting off and soft serve kept running down the sides of the cup. I would suggest maybe taping down the cover or putting it in a small plastic bag to help catch all the runoff if you do end up taking it home. I will definitely be back to try some of their other drinks and soft serve flavors!

5/18/26 Matcha Cafe Maiko Monterey Park, CA...Came here with 3 great peeps! I got a matcha soft serve! Yummy! My friends got Ube waffle Cone and a Matcha Ube soft serve. The two ladies at the front counter all business. Nice and clean little place, good seating. Cool designs on walls inside! Come try this place!

Came around 9ish? Got the mix with vanilla and matcha. I think if i got matcha on its own itd be too strong. Actually, This mightve been the reason why i couldnt sleep. The vanilla and matcha was a good combo. Got the waffle cone but when the softserve melted inside the cone, it started dripping. Gotta eat it fast if you dont want ice cream everywhere. also, Love the pokemon pictures they have in here.

Friendly service and yummy options. Shaved ice, cups and cones. We had Ube and Matcha ice cream. The place was not busy, so the floors and tables should have been a little cleaner. Service was great. We'll be back.

Hands down one of the best matcha ever. Doesn't matter which location I go to , LA, Vegas, Hawaii, it'll always be fire! This is what matcha tastes like. Sweet, bitter, smooth I definitely got my matcha fix

Located at the Atlantic Times Square plaza with garage parking available. I got the matcha latte float which is such a steal. The matcha ice cream was really smooth and creamy. And once I finished I had the matcha latte to enjoy. I think getting the float is a better deal than just getting the drink or ice cream separately. Staff was also very friendly and nice

We stopped by Matcha Cafe Maiko after dinner and shared a waffle cone. It was huge and delicious! Seen it but had not stopped in. Glad we finally did! The soft serve was so good! We're definitely going back to try more! Such a cute vibe! Service was good at the counter but tables could use more frequent wipedowns. Will definitely be back to try more flavors.

I couldn't decide which flavors to try, so I went with a two scoop cone of Coffee & Cookies (coffee ice cream with Oreos) and Matcha Strawberry. I ended up going with one of the fan favorites, which was the cookie monster. I just love cookies and cream in general so this was a safe option for me. I loved the different cookie bits that they had in there! It was also really fun because of how blue it was and stained my entire mouth. Luckily I had nowhere important to be after so maybe keep that in mind as well... Overall a great experience and I get why people waited in line for it!

This is in the same tiny plaza as Golden Deli and Bopomofo, so parking can be tough at peak dinner time. The good: the taiyaki texture was nice and crunchy. The ice cream was smooth and not icy. The price is good for amount you get. The bad: the store was extremely cramped and hot. It's a very tiny shop so easily felt packed inside. I was annoyed when they called my order but I was struggling to get through the shop to get my order. By that time the employee had walked away. I was annoyed because when she came back she completely ignored me and handed someone else their order and walked away. I don't understand why they keep the completed orders way behind the counter if they don't even verify the correct person is picking up... after being skipped over twice I finally cut in and interrupted the other employee for my order and she was like oh... sorry it's melted. Like yeah it's been sitting there and I didn't want to go into the employee area to get it! That was really irritating. The ube flavor was bland. It tasted like milk, I did not get any ube flavor. The custard in the taiyaki was just okay. The worst part was that the taiyaki had a really off putting taste on the outside... almost like the aftertaste of margarine or something, it bothered me. Overall the flavor and service was lacking and the experience inside was not good. I was not impressed by any aspect and would not recommend this place unless you were already dining in this plaza and wanted to just walk over.

This is I would think the median price. Or at least it happens to be when we are in the Monterey Park or San Gabriel Valley area. The consistency of their drinks is always appreciated. I love that they make teas as well as smoothies and milkshake type drinks. The wait time obviously will vary, depending on how many orders have been put in ahead of yours, but usually the wait time is not long. I feel like even when I've been here in the line to order is out the door, the way to receive your drink is still not a long time. There is a parking lot in the back. There's also street parking on the sides of this strip mall. I love coming here. The designs on their cup change throughout the year. I tend to reuse and repurpose my bottles that I get from here. On our most recent visit - admittedly our first in a while - I was surprised that the flavors mostly seemed like repeats from a long time ago. Of course, you want to feature what is most popular, but I remember previously seeing things that were truly one of a kind, even for them. (Out of curiosity, I visited their website and the seasonal flavor blog hasn't been updated since spring 2021). None of this is a deal-breaker, but the feeling of "tiredness" permeated my interaction with the staff, too. There was no joy behind the counter, which I found odd for ice cream that is supposedly about the love of travel. When I tried to order a scoop of one flavor, I was told that I couldn't have it because there wasn't enough left for a full scoop. When I asked if I could have the half scoop that remained and just combine it with another flavor (trying to solve the problem for them), I was told that they aren't allowed to do half and half splits anymore. Fortunately, another employee showed up at that very moment with a fresh full tub of that flavor, but it still struck me as odd. They were also out of cones because of another problem. I am giving them four stars because the ice cream is still great and definitely worth a try if you've never had it, but I hope they can maintain their spark and magic as they continue to expand.
