Yesterday was a rare occasion when we were changing buses in front of this store, so we took advantage of that to look for an item which has a huge discount this week. A nice and helpful guy helped us find the correct aisle, but they were out of what we were looking for - so we went to the cashier's counter to get a "raincheck", but no one was there. We then found the nice guy and he quickly brought the cashier there. She was *exceptionally* friendly and helpful. As an aside; the store's interior was very depressing-looking because almost everything is locked up - but certainly I can understand the reasoning. read more

I picked up my cough medicine today. inside the CVS brown bag. Put everything in my bag and went home. When I got home I notice some red spot inside my bag and it stained all my white shirt. Of course it was the cough medicine that leaked. So I called the pharmacy which took forever to get through. When I finally got through and explain the situation to the lady, the lady name Resheta said "well sir the only way the med will leaked through if it leaked through the brown bag" all sassy and crap. Seriously, lady?!? Obviously, It has to leak through the CVS BAG first before stain my bag and my white shirts. So basically who ever packed my medicine didn't close the lid. I asked them for a replacement and she said we don't do replacement for medication. I understand you have to refill but I didn't even get to take my medication because all I got was an empty bottle. Updated on the next morning. I came in and got the same lady (my luck) told her everything that happened and explain to her. She said to me "how do I know you didn't do tear the bag and pour the med on your own clothes" (I don't understand how dumb this lady is) and thank goodness there is a lady next to me and she said this lady Resheta how ridiculous she sounds. Even her coworkers standing next to her are rolling their eyes at her! I don't know how CVS would hire someone with no common sense. She refilled my order and then try to charge me again. This is easily the coolest CVS you'll ever go into. What used to be a bank in the 1800s has now become a CVS. The infrastructure is incredible to look at, and even inside you can see the grandiose features as well! The selection in the store is just as diverse as any other location in the city. read more

It's the fact that it used to be a bank and has these high, beautiful ceilings. I'm just trying to picture the real estate agent "selling" this location to corporate like it would be some sort of flagship location. The store has the same exact merchandise, the same anti-theft deterrent, the same bored security guard and the same queue at the register, at least it's a nicer location for all of that. I came directly from surgery to pick up prescriptions. There was a very long line. I'd asked the people in line if I could cut in front they agreed. HOWEVER the pharmacist refused to let me. He would not even listen to my explanation. He made me go to the back Of the line wait in the LONG line when I was directly from the hospital from surgery!!! I was in a splint/sling halfway in my coat and obviously in pain. This pharmacy is routinely out of my prescriptions. The phone wait it UNREASONABLE. read more

They get worse by the day. Down hill spiral for years. It's so bad at the pharmacy that i have been calling no less than 4-6 times a day for SEVEN (7) days bow and left 4 messages with the pharmacy. They don't call back or answer. Rx's are almost NEVER ready when they say. They don't have the meds you need half the time lately and no help finding them. Full on garbage. Same long lines, same depressing cloud that envelopes every CVS. What sets this CVS aside from the rest is the gorgeous building in which it resides -- a former bank with a magnificent ceiling. My partner and I refer to this CVS location as "CVS jail." So much of the store's merchandise is locked up behind glass doors, I'm surprised they haven't started locking up the bottles of water or installed metal detectors at the door. Try going into the store for more than one item and you will want to rip your hair out having to wait for a sales clerk (who should be a cashier but the cashiers have been replaced by insufferable self check out machines at the front) to unlock merchandise. Also, I dare you to try reading a product label or comparing similar merchandise with a salesperson hovering over your shoulder, waiting to lock everything back up. Not fun! I don't want to further cede to online shopping, but shopping experiences like this make it impossible to do otherwise. Free the dish soap! read more

If they don't want to fill your prescription they will stall you for days. I did find most of the issues were from the transient pharmacists passing through, not the permanent helpful staff. You should understand the pharmacy does not set prices. There is an elaborate structure setting prices between insurance and companies that change from pharmacy to pharmacy. This does not excuse frequent rude behavior by staff. Check your prescription coverage for the best prices. Shop Canadian pharmacies for really expensive prescriptions and possibly save bundles of money. Vote for candidates who support all health care and tell CVS their behavior is unacceptable. read more

It's Sunday night at 6:30 PM and you're supposed to be at a cocktail party for a business conference in half an hour. You open up your (admittedly) ancient make up bag and realize your eyeliner is 87 years old and no longer has any pencil to pencil in around your eyes. Yelp to the rescue! The CVS was literally around the corner from my hotel. I trot off to this 24-hour CVS and there is my eyeliner. Excellent. And self serve check out. Excellent. Literally in and out of there in 5 minutes. The night is saved. read more

After calling and being put on hold several times for 40 minutes I decided to go in person only to see the phones ringing non stop and nobody answering them. I stopped by this beautiful and spacious CVS while waiting for my brunch reservation at Jack's Wife Freda. The stores were spacious, well organized and had a good stock. However, my issue was with checkout. There was one person standing by self-checkout but, they were busy on their phone instead of helping people. I am forced to use this pharmacy because my employer has some kind of CVS-only Rx insurance. I would love to use another pharmacy but I can't. This is the worst pharmacy ever. The pharmacists are endlessly rude and unhelpful. I use to love CVS but now they won't even answer the phone. You cannot get through to a human if you call any CVS pharmacy - not sure what that's about. Maybe cutting overhead. I have to go visit the store 2+ times in PERSON before I get my prescription properly filled. It's a HUGE Time suck and inconvenience. Avoid this pharmacy chain at all costs. I had went in to do a money gram to pay a bill. A normal simple task. Not to mention I called prior to confirm their money gram was up and working and that pay a bill feature is available. Went to the store 10 minutes later. The cashier. Was not to mention rude. But used foul language and when I asked for a manger or someone else to assist me the cashier next to mine made a remark about how their too f******g busy for this s@@t. The prices are outrageous! I only shop there when I get a coupon. So I went today since I had 40% off and $4 rewards and when I was at self check out firstly it added 40% and then asked for additional coupons so I scanned $4 reward. And now the system rearranged the coupons and used $4 first then 40% after which made $$2 difference. C'mon now how cheap can u go?? $4 reward should be used as cash. So this review is well overdue. I go to this CVS location several times a week. All of the employees are friendly and helpful to me. They treat me great whether I'm in regular clothes or in my work uniform the service is impeccable. Today at approximately 10:15 I went inside and was assisted by Maria, Miranda, and I believe the other lady's name is Mary. I met Maria for the first time she gave me wonderful tips on using the app and added to my knowledge on self check out. She was friendly, attentive, and informative. Miranda was checking people out at the register as she normally is when I go to the store. She is always happy and helpful and will assist me with no hesitation. She is always smiling whether it's 7:30 AM or 10:30 AM. Mary (sorry if I got her name wrong) is normally at the entrance or self check out she always greets me when walk in and out of the store and she will help me at the self-checkout registers. I don't want to leave out that Kevin has helped me on numerous occasions as well. He will unlock the cases so that I can get the products that I need and ask me how I like my service that day. I appreciate his caring to ask. Grace was also helpful to me on the one occasion that I saw her in the store. Now why did I only give four stars because the prices are too high which has nothing to do with the employees and I would like to keep my focus on them. However, I do have to mention that, and I had an extremely poor interaction with a new security guard. However, all of the other security guards knew me and did not treat me as if I was a shoplifter. I never saw that guard again after speaking to the store manager a male. I also had a pleasant interaction with two different female managers. A young girl I don't know her name but she was super sweet and the other lady's name is Yahira. Thank you to all of them that treated me as a valued customer. Nothing different here. This is the giant bank building on the corner. It failed as Balducci's high end food emporium, and is now a testament to how much profit margin is in these chain drug stores. Beautiful building and is always worth a trip inside. Convenient self check out registers which I love, and find very efficient. I used to love coming to this pharmacy since I could find last minute items. Now it seems the last couple of times I have been at this location WHOEVER the MAN "manning" the front doors is - decides it is appropriate to leave the front doors and FOLLOW me around the entire store until I am ready to pay... I of course will still take my time as I notice him sneaking behind me at EVERY AISLE I walk to... This has got to be the most uncomfortable place for me to buy feminine hygiene products... there are other people in the store, mind you- but every time I am there the others don't get followed- just me!?!? Unless I am some long lost cousin and he doesn't know how to greet me- I would appreciate it if someone could inform him that UNLESS he has a suspicion or description of a shoplifter- he may not follow people around... Walk up 3 blocks to Duane Reade on 8th ave! This place is a disaster! They almost always seem to have only self serve check out lines open. 1-2 self serve machines always seem to be broken while the remaining 2 can never properly check out your item. It'll always flash and ask to wait for an attendant which may take up to 5-10 minutes. I've twice just left groceries at the check out and walked up to Duane Reade. Further, the floor is nasty and all busted. I don't get why CVS spent all this money to get this beautiful old big bank from former Balducci's and then just short staff it, expect paying customers to check out ourselves, and leave the floor to crap. I love the CVS except for weekend evenings when the meatpacking crowd is on the prowl, and that cannot be blamed on CVS. I'm impatient by nature, again, not CVS' fault. Some amazing things about this CVS that I hope you can appreciate as much as I do: - It's not claustrophobic: I'm from Texas and I get anxious if I'm in tight, cramped spaces... i.e. the nearby Bed Bath Beyond is my version of hell. - I love this pharmacy: customer service goes a long way with me and I'm sure I've told the pharmacist that I've loved her on more than one occasion (in a non creepy way - I hope) when she expedited my meds as I thought as I was on the brink of death during an illness. They are compassionate. - I once had an issue with the milk I purchased here and the staff was really great about exchanging it. No fuss, easy, professional. Thumbs up CVS. - This building is really pretty, and if you are in line for the self serve, you should really take a moment and look up and notice the ceiling and take in the architecture. This is my go-to pharmacy. Only a couple blocks from my office it's convenient and the staff is friendlier than any other CVS, Duane Reade, Rite-aid, or Walgreens I've been to! I literally have a mini-convo with every person who's ever helped me at their pharmacy, not to mention they are still very efficient on top of that. I can always find exactly what I want here, and if I don't see it there is usually someone nearby who can help me find it. They never seem understaffed, which I greatly appreciate as I am often pressed for time when I come here. Even if this location wasn't close to my job it would be my preferred pharmacy hands-down! read more

5 stars for the help out front, they're always nice and helpful, I couldn't ask for anything more. Store's docked a star because one time when I was buying some prescription drugs, they told me my insurance wouldn't cover it. They didn't even have my insurance info yet so I told them "just try it and see" and lo and behold, my insurance DID cover it. This nearly cost me $50 out of my own pocket. Store's docked another star because I came in sick once and found out they didn't stock Cold-Eez lozenges, which I started taking 12 years ago because they actually work very, very well. The closest thing they had were zinc chewable tablets, which really weren't the same thing. (The zinc compound in Cold-Eez isn't effective because you digest it, it's because it coats your throat when taken in lozenge form, and on top of that, the zinc compound in the tablets wasn't the same.) The tablets also cost twice as much, but I was sick, it was too cold to walk anywhere else, and I needed something fast. Tablets did NOTHING. Wasted my money, CVS. read more

I am really surprised on the service that this CVS Pharmacy provided. It was so sufficient and freaking fast. I ordered an Eyelash Enhancer online and it got packed and processed within half an hour. On top of that, this location is 24 hours service and it is awesome. The building is beautiful as well; it can be disguised as a Bank.
