I've been going here since they built it. I can say the staff is always helpful and the pharmacy is excellent. Their challenge is the craziness of shoplifters. They can't do anything about it so more things have to be locked up but I have never had an issue with getting help. I'm very lucky to have such a great group right around the corner. read more

Late post- I went to cvs on Oct 2nd because I needed to pick up my prescription and get some milk. The milk on the shelf was expired! When I tried to tell someone about it at the front there was no one there... just a reminder to always check expiration dates. This pharmacy is also almost always out of all my prescriptions so I send those to a different store. There was one time recently when I walked in and someone greeted me which is so different from my typical experience here. I will definitely update if it continues to improve. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Expired milk - Drugstores Near Me - OCEANSIDE, California

Only one worker acknowledged me out 3 total. The other two were busy gossiping, judging, and being weird/rude as they discuss protocol for what to do when they think someone is stealing...not if they know forsure...interesting. There's plenty of items but not everything is stocked... I noticed for women's health, there wasn't a lot of options for pad brands like other CVS locations and some aren't even stocked just one left that looks like it's been sitting there for a while. The inside looks decent but not enough for me to buy a soda or quick snack from there, it looks like if I did my snack might be melted from warmth or old. read more

This comment is about all CVSs - they no longer answer phone calls. Their automated system is very annoying and in order to speak to the pharmacy, a voicemail must be left, which may not be responded to for hours. Extremely poor customer service! read more

This is literally the most frustrating pharmacy. The employees who work here are incredibly rude, condescending and unorganized. I'm not sure what is going on here but the last 6 months they have significantly gotten worse. They emailed me recently to confirm the dose of my prescription, after confirming, I received several text messages to pick up my medication. Today I go to get it and they have the wrong dose. I told her they specifically emailed me and I confirmed it. She looked at me like I was dumb and said they don't have it and it'll take DAYS to order. This is not the first time they've gotten my medications wrong or not have them in a timely manner. Medications can't just be STOPPED cold turkey and for many people when you get medication it's not because we want them. It's a MEDICAL NEED!!! Now reviewing my orders, they CANCELED the correct dose and the wrong one is in a pending status now. And there is a second order for the right dose and says they are out of stock. The online system offers to fill at another location. Maybe would have been nice had the employee offered to check another location and made some arrangements. They're literally the laziest, most insensitive people that work there! read more

Went in to get some passport pictures taken, there was only one person at the register but holy could she work she was running 2 registers, the self check out and the photos. I watcher her jump from one thing to another. She helped me get in and out as fast as possible but I would say maybe hire another person. Not for the sake of getting people in and out faster but to help the staff out. Anyways top tier service whoever that lady was. I went in today at noon if that narrows it down a bit. read more

Country wide CVS Pharmacy has a poor reputation for customer service. The turnover rivals that of a college town fast food chain. The staff are overwhelmingly overworked and miserable. Their ugliness leaks out and spill all over everyone they come in contact with. Walmart has a pharmacy where the people are kind and knowledgeable. No matter the time I come in to this pharmacy over the past 2 years it always has a line. The answering machine always says "two pharmacy calls" and workers who seem to take long than 10 minutes per customer. First off I want to congratulate Tulio for having so much patience and overall exceptional customer service skills. He was being humiliated by two of his coworkers. These awful ladies were speaking to him in such degrading tones. With little to no respect for him or the customers. Not only did Gilma abandon the customer she was attending she completely ignored me as I was asking her a question. It's unbelievable that the manager Martha refused to assist with the line that kept growing. She did not help with the issue that was unraveling she initiated a hostile environment for myself. She shouted at Tulio as he was trying to scramble and help three customers at the self checkout. Horrible management and I hope Tulio finds a job that will cherish him. read more

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I've been to the pharmacy for my prescriptions and share I've have a pleasant experience. I drop of a script yesterday and it was actually filled in two minutes!! Must have been a fluke but I was impressed! I tried the drive through once and that went well and called in prescriptions which have also worked well. The staff has been courtesy and effective and the place is clean. Overall I think I'll continue coming here since it's so close to work and home. Give it a shot, so far so good! read more

I've just had a great experience dealing with this CVS at 3925 North River Rd. in Oceanside, CA. I've been searching and searching for a particular product that is supposed to be at certain drug stores, CVS being one of them. I'm not sure if everyone is making a run on the market for this, or if it is being underreported, or just isn't available at stores yet. Anyway, after many unsuccessful calls, I was fortunate enough to reach Cindy at CVS. I asked her about the product and, after a short hold, she said she has it, and will put it at the front checkstand with my name on it. So thankful to have received good service over this short call, I told her how thrilled I was that she took the extra effort to help me out. I want to give Cindy a big shout out! read more

I go to this CVS often, but for the first time ever, I experienced an employee that passively complained about my rewards number because I received so many rewards coupons. This CVS gets pretty busy during certain times, and the time I went in was exceptionally busy. I wasn't quite clear what she was rambling about, but it was awkward since the employee was not in a good mood. Hope she feels better. read more

If you or your family members get any type of controlled substances filled at the North River location, I recommend counting them AS SOON as you open the bag. Three times now, I've noticed broken and/or missing pills, and they explained the pills go through a counting machine before they're supposed to be manually counted again by a pharmacist. The first time, I didn't notice until the end of the month, close to the renewal date, so there was nothing I could do. I did call the regional manager, who explained that there's supposed to be a two-tier process, and since my complaint also had to do with one of the pharmacists, he said he would make sure the issue never happened again. The next few months, especially when the pharmacist I complained about would fill that particular medication, they made it a point to have the staff tell me that the pills had been double counted, and there were no missing or broken pills. Regardless, I made it a point to count them out myself every single month, because this medicine wasn't my prescription - I was picking it up for a family member. The information about double checked counting stopped after a few months, and sometime after, I picked up the same prescription, and while counting, noticed broken fragments that had been counted as whole pills (which is what I assumed had happened - an error where both the machine and person counting didn't realize that it wasn't a complete pill, and counted it as though it was, causing the prescription to come up short). I immediately called the pharmacy and explained that I'd counted myself and found the broken pills. I brought the entire prescription back as they instructed me to do, and they fixed it. No problem. A few days ago, however, my husband went to pick up the same prescription, and brought it immediately home. He watched me open the bag and count out 73 1/2 pills, and then recount three more times for certainty before I contacted the pharmacy. There should have been 75 pills, and 1 1/2 were missing from the prescription bottle when I opened it (the bag was still stapled together). I called the pharmacy immediately (it had been less than 20 minutes since my husband picked the prescription). The person who answered the phone was extremely nice, and said she would speak with the pharmacist on duty (the one that I've been critical of in past Yelp reviews). A few days earlier, I'd called to have an antibiotic prescription filled for my child. I happened to get this pharmacist when I called. She went out of her way to mention my review (when I had to get her supervisor involved). She identified herself by name, had see my review on Yelp, and that she was "sorry I had a negative experience during my visit." It was bizarre and uncomfortable, but I replied that I hadn't thought of it in months (My complaint had been professional, not personal). I don't know what her intended reaction from me was, but I refused to engage. To have the same mistake I originally complained to a supervisor about (and yes, wrote a negative review on Yelp naming her, because I did not feel her behavior should reflect upon her colleagues - they do a great job) happen once afterward is a fluke, and I may not have noticed had I not adopted my "count right away" policy after the first mistake. To have it happen a third time with the same pharmacist refusing to correct the issue just days after mentioning a negative review seems very odd. Maybe this is just an overly cautious pharmacist that has convinced herself that I'm one of those people trying to scam the system out of a pill and a half of a medication that is a controlled substance. Why would someone lie about a pill and a half being missing? More importantly, why was nobody concerned that medication of this nature was being miscounted? I don't know what's going on over there or whether it's mechanical error coupled with human error or something else, but you shouldn't feel like you've got to be defensive to get your family's medications filled correctly. I've never been dispensed too MANY pills for any of my family members. I shouldn't even have to contemplate recording the opening and counting of my family's monthly medications. That's probably one of the more disturbing things that's come out of this experience. read more

My prescription came in last minute and wasn't being authorized by my insurance, but the Pharmacist filled it in time and explained to me my options for payment. This location is not known for it's friendly customer service. It's not terrible but it's not great either. I got a COVID-19 test in April at CVS on El Camino Real and got the results right away and got another COVID-19 test at the River Rd. location on Monday and was told it would take 1-2 days. The CVS staff administering the drive through testing did not tell me when I would get the results but I had to ask specifically. Your store staff (whose first language is English) need to improve their communication skills with customers and the public. read more

There is a dude named Jeff in the pharmacy area that has the worst people skills. He doesn't represent CVS well. For years I've paid for personal products at the pharmacy counter without a hitch. Not with Jeff, it's a huge inconvenience for him to service people without a prescription. He is a sniveling belly-aching crybaby with a barely get by job he has no appreciation for. He will never aspire to anything unless he serves people with gladness, a smile, and a what can do for you attitude. Grow up Jeff. Learn to thrive. Horrible management !! It is 2022 and there is still managers degrading their staff who are willing to show up to work. I was waiting in line for over 20 minutes and Gilma was extremely rude to a young man that was helping people in self checkout. She snapped on him in front of the whole line. Martha the manger instead of helping clear the line, sided with Gilma and takes her away to Pharmacy. Leaving the poor young man alone with no support. This place literally sucks. The staff does less than the bare minimum and is never doing their job. When I went in tonight there was four staff members standing behind the counter and only one of them was checking people out and there was at least five people waiting in line to get helped . I had to wait in line just to ask for help with an item locked up before I could even make my purchase & on top of that the employees always have an attitude especially the larger minority male and the older woman . read more

At certain times of the day and evening they refuse to have humans checking people out. They literally don't have a single worker in sight, just the two self checkout terminals. Last night there were at least ten people in line. One person buying liquor at the self check wasn't able to proceed until a human came to help and no one came. The other terminal wasn't dispensing cash so that one started alerting for an employee. Fifteen minutes passed and not one employee came to the front. Is this how CVS likes to do business? I can't believe this location won't staff the front counter. The last time I was in it wasn't much better. Both self checks were occupied and the young lady behind the register told me to go to self checkout when I approached her. I told her no, I don't wish to wait, you're here and not doing anything so if you could check me out I'd appreciate it. She rolled her eyes and did, but wasn't happy about it. What is wrong with these entitled people that think work is standing around getting paid to observe? We scheduled for Covid-19 vaccines for two in our family we live in Clairemont. On a Sunday the traffic on the 5 North bound was bad due road work. We were late by over an hour. Chelsea was just amazing she helped us with the process and was so kind with a smile my Mom is 90 years of age. There is always an issue at this location. Today at 4 p.m. the pharmacy drive thru was closed. In the store there was a long line of people and not enough workers to handle the crowd of people. There appears to be a big turnover of employees at this location as my family and I have tried going since it's opening. Every time I go in, there are new people working the pharmacy. Figure it out. Higher more workers, extend available hours to customers and treat this area of the valley with more respect. Just because you no longer sell cigarettes doesn't mean there is no longer a need for the pharmacy. I spoke to many workers at this location and this is the consensus from all of them as to what CVS is doing in the neighborhood. No need for nicotine=no need for workers=crappier service. read more

The photo center is out of order. The coupons kiosk is out of order. The customer service is no help and the line is usually super long.

Oceanside is constantly looking to overhaul it's image and this CVS Pharmacy location is doing it's part to help. The building is spacious and has a nice exterior. In addition, the inside layout is pretty standard just like all other locations, the staff is helpful, and the interior is rather clean. This isn't a popular spot even though it's stuck in-between three housing areas but that just means shorter lines (or none at all). This CVS will help you print film, print Christmas cards and even pickup that prescription of Xanax you've been meaning to refill. Check your local paper for good deals on sunscreen, makeup, photo prints and candy. Not much else that is exciting going on here. read more

I visit this store probably once a week, only because its the closest drug store by my house. Service here is always the same, so waiting in line is never a wait. Staff is always nice. Cleanliness of the store is always above excellent and they pretty much carry everything you can think of minus the nasty cigs, thank god!! Its a CVS, what more could you expect. read more
