This review is solely about the sales associate named Brody. I went to print photos and I witnessed his appalling behavior in several instances. From telling one customer to "not get too uptight" and to "calm the heck down" while she calmly asked him a question about printing photos, to telling her she HAD to pay for a print that the machine accidentally printed, and swearing under his breath but loud enough to hear, to telling a customer on the phone he "didn't know how the hell to help her" and complaining to ME that he didn't want to sign in to the cash register and I HAD to use self checkout. I'm shocked that CVS would employ such an individual. I see why this location has 2 stars. read more

This is the worst CVS I've ever been to. They make it really hard to check out using a human, and you have to use their self-checkout machines, which always do things wrong. Then when you finally get someone from the store to help, they're really rude. When in this neighborhood I will use the Walgreen's instead. read more

WARNING SERIOUS Rx PROBLEMS I have been receiving 8 medications every month for the past 4 years. Very nicely, CVS has a delivery service, $5 per month, that enables me to avoid going to the store and waiting in line. Nevertheless, in those 4 years there have has been 2 months when I didn't have to phone the pharmacy to fulfill the prescription because of failure with theCVS app, failure with delivery, or failure, today, failure getting the proper medication. Wow talk about a sucky experience. Its times like this that I miss Long's Drugs. Had a prescription called in this morning that I NEED cause I am leaving early in the morning. Did not get a call so I went over to see what was going on. Turns out they had some sort of register issue and can not fill it. Wow thanks for the notice. They offered to move it to another pharmacy. Okay, no wait its a new one so they cannot transfer it to another one. They will have to call my doctor but its now after hours. Okay will they be fixed in the morning? No, it will be Monday at the earliest. They may be able to call in the morning but if my MD is not there then no AND AGAIN I WILL BE GONE. I get that sometimes there is a tech fail but you have NO BACKUP PLAN? Maybe call the docs and get them transferred ahead of time? OR HOW ABOUT LETTING ME AND EVERYBODY ELSE KNOW SO WE CAN MAKE ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS. Seriously a special thanks to CVS for kind of screwing me and my weekend. Been to this CVS for years and I have always liked their service. Today however, is icing on an already delicious cake. Cashier named Esther painstakingly checked my Cheetoss and soda pop for expiration dates. I have never felt so cared for by a cash-handling staff. Esther is a rock star. It's bad bc of the people who work at the pharmacy and I guess the new local people who go there. For some reason everyone shopping in the store was Chinese and barely spoke English. So I go for my vaccine appt and for some reason they are taking all these Chinese walkins and okay fine, but appts should go first or idk I've never really thought much about it bc usually the csv manages the queue in a way that I've never had to wait very long. they told me there were "a few" people in front of me, and to wait over there - with no real emphasis on where there was. There were about 15 - 20 people standing around but it was clear as mud who was in line for what bc there's also the pharmacy which I naively thought those people could be waiting for. And also if they had told me the wait would be an hour and a half I would have rescheduled and figured out who to go to my CVS, but no, they said it'll be a few mins so I waited, I sat, I stood, I stretched, Like at any time the pharmacist could have taken control of the mess and told people where to wait and given an estimate on how long it would actually take just for awareness. But no. So finally I go to the pharmacist and ask what is going on it's an hour and a half post my appt time and it turns out they're taking people as they came in including walk ins. At this point I'm pretty pissed but after waiting this long they kept a saying I was next. So after fighting with some guy in line for the pharmacy bc as I said it was impossible to tell who was in line for what and people were pissed. I finally get my shot. 2 star overall rating speaks for itself. I attempted to buy $300 dollars in gift cards only to be told by the manager that they might have been tampered with. I spent 1/2 hour selecting them and then told they are defective. Why are they still on display? Obviously they should be taken off the floor. The manager had no answer and acted like I was in error. I have shopped in Midtown for 50 years. CVS lost a long time customer today. The manager has no idea how to provide customer service and after my encounter it's no surprise the ratings are so low. You'd think this CVS was abandoned. Today I submit my resignation after increasingly distressing experiences getting my prescriptions renewed. CVS needs to get real about staffing in the pharmacy, and meet the baseline requirements and expectations of a drugstore. Asking me to engage in an automated phone tree, with no possibility of reaching a human being, is outrageous and dangerous. read more

The worst service ever. I called on a prescription for pain meds after having a knee replacement surgery. The order was placed. Then on a Saturday I called because I hadn't gotten notification that it was ready and was told they didn't have the medication and that they had called me to let me know. They didn't call. I just placed a refill order yesterday and same thing. The order was supposed to be ready last night but after calling this morning they say they haven't gotten the request and have to get approval before filing the prescription. If they had filled the prescription fully the first time I wouldn't be out but they only gave me a third of the pills prescribed. Don't use CVS!!!! The staff that works in the store has been generally lovely. However, this review is about the pharmacy. The pharmacists on the phone are consistently rude and unhelpful. I have been going to CVS in Town & Country for the majority of my life for prescriptions and never have encountered issues with customer service and attitude the way that I have with this CVS's pharmacists. Have transferred my prescriptions from this location to Walgreens because I am now uncomfortable calling when I need support with prescriptions. read more

Over the last month I noticed a new employee at our midtown CVS. Every time I would walk into the store I was greeted with a friendly hello and when I was looking around he'd asked if I needed assistance. This weekend I picked up a holiday nutcracker which I had noticed a few days ago. I asked Josh to hold the nutcracker for me while I continued to pick up a couple of items. Josh( is the new manager) and I had a nice exchange. He was courteous, helpful, and so nice. I just wanted to give a shout out to say how much I appreciated his assistance and the exchange. So often today customer service is a thing of the pass, So it really stands out when you receive great service. Thanks josh for the excellent service! read more

Showed up at 9:40pm last night to find all doors locked. The posted closing time was 10pm. 6 patrons patiently waited while we knocked on the door for the workers we could see to come let us in, but they just milled around behind the counter instead and ignored us. read more

I have severe asthma and this pharmacy works with my doctor to get me the inhalers I need, when I need them - which seems normal, but I have worked with other pharmacies for years and the amount of hoop jumping required to get what I need is sometimes overwhelming. The pharmacists at this location help me get the best price for an inhaler I need that isn't covered by insurance. They've also gone the extra mile to work with my doctor to get my insurance to cover things. They always get it to me quickly as well, as I am unable to shop in the store. I appreciate the staff here, tremendously. read more

Having waited 40 minutes in store two days ago, I called in advance this time. After waiting 18 minutes, I was able to talk to someone for 30 seconds before being put on hold for another 13 minutes or so. Finally I was told I would get another partial refill and come back again in two days. The whole call was 32 minutes 49 seconds. I sympathize with the challenges CVS staff face in their work. On 24 Jan, my doctor's office sent in a prescription for my baby. I called to confirm and the pharmacy staff member denied receiving the same. I returned to my doctor's office and conveyed the news. The doctor's office faxed in the order this time, and I called again. This time a different staff member answered and confirmed receipt of the fax. On 25 Jan I arrived to pick it up. The pharmacy staff member denied receiving the prescription, and said they would order the item from a supplier once they receive the prescription. I had the paper order that my doctor's office had faxed them. The staff member refused to accept the paper order, stating the office had to place it. I explained that their peer had confirmed receipt over the phone yesterday that the order was received, and asked what other action I can take. The staff member instructed me to have the doctor's office send the order, then call the pharmacy to confirm receipt: the exact steps I took twice on 24 Jan that failed. On 26 Jan the doctor's office called them directly, and reported to me that the staff member informed that they received the order but don't carry the item. A couple hours later I received a text that stated "your Rx is NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE," bringing the total number of inconsistent stories conveyed by the pharmacy to four. read more

I usually find myself at Walgreens, but one day I decided to see if Long's had the AmLactin lotion I wanted. The place was forlorn and empty, the staff bored and slow, and of the three types of AmLactin lotion offered, they only had like two boxes left of the line I didn't want -- and they were Very Dusty. Here is why I love this longs-IT SAVES ME A TRIP TO THE POST OFFICE! My hip mother, all knowing that she is, had heard of my pathetic attempt to go mail something yesterday. She says, "why not go to longs, they have a mini post office inside." So I nervously head over to the Longs at lunch, and she was right! It's not a full post office, but a desk with various options. Returned some items for $6.73 via priority mail and was in and out in less then 5 minutes. Now this is service. Oh yeah..and this longs is nice. Small, but nice. When you know what you want, and need to get the show on the road...I love this longs. read more

There are some freaky deaky people that frequent this place. It's almost as exciting as the one in San Mateo off Peninsula (yes go there and you will know what I mean). Good alternative to the Walgreens down the way if they're missing anything in your day to day convenience and toiletry needs. read more

The one star is for the pharmacy at this location I come here regularly as it is close to where I live. Today I wen to pick up my prescription that the doctor at Palo Alto medical foundation has prescribed for me of course the stupid pharmacy didn't have it ready and told me it will be ready in half an hour in addition to telling me that the insurance doesn't cover it so I will have to pay out of pocket I said I no choice but to pay out of pocket because I need that prescription stupid pharmacy woman I hate cvs pharmacy I usually stop by this location for the snack in which they don't even have the one I wanted stocked up they are getting sloppy so I will do my shopping somewhere else from now on read more

In the 3 Longs stores that are all about a mile away from each other (midtown, T&C, downtown), this one ranks in the middle. You don't have to deal with bums but you don't get warm feelings like you do at T&C. The service is nowhere near as helpful or as knowledgeable as at Town and Country. This is the biggest Longs in my proximity examples and they have a complete mailing center (FedEx, UPS, USPS, all at straight un-marked-up prices). They don't have a designated person working it so you have to stand there and wait for someone to help you. The pharmacy at this Long's sucks. It just does. There is always a long wait before you're told to wait longer (and no, calling ahead does not help). The black pharmacy lady appears to have completely given up and now acts like a government worker but the rest of the pharmacy staff is pleasant. read more

Same ratty grey CVS carpeting that I can't stand but they did have the combination lock I was looking for when another near by CVS didn't have them. Too bad the woman clerk looked so miserable and put off a vibe that she was being bothered to run me through the check out process. She should have stayed home. Its a bummer when you're all pumped (being a morning person) and then you gotta be surrounded with such a sour face. Sour lemons to you CVS clerk. Woops, I mean don't give that lady lemons cuz she won't make lemonade. She'll drink lemon juice and act like a 'sour puss'. read more

Somehow my prescription is NEVER ready when I go to pick it up... seriously. I'm always told "it'll be just 5 minutes." Why? If they're that understaffed, perhaps they should hire someone else who can count to 15 to fill scrips in a timely fashion. I think I'm going to try the neighboring Walgreen's from now on. read more

Really bad experience with the pharmacy. We've been going to this store for 15 years or so but they no longer care about customer service. I arrived at 2 PM to pick up a prescription for my son and they told me they would not fill it because their pharmacist was at lunch. I totally think their pharmacist should get a lunch, and that's not my issue. But no lunch hours are posted so there's no way to predict when you should NOT come for half an hour because suddenly the pharmacy is not appropriately staffed. When I pointed this out they gave me a copy of the state law that dictates that they could not give me the prescription (which she had in her hand at the time). When I walked away they stapled the law to the prescription envelope. The law, lady, is not the point. The point is the staffing policy that says that at some point in the afternoon you're suddenly unable to hand out prescriptions or answer questions (others were turned away while I was there so it wasn't just my issue). When I spoke with the person who said he might be the manager, he said he did not know what was going on in the pharmacy and did not have any say over staffing. The real manager, Sky, would not be in until Monday. No one ever apologized, no one every in any way indicated that having the pharmacy spontaneously not able to fill prescriptions in the middle of a Saturday afternoon might be inconvenient for customers. Their attitude throughout the discussions was, "too bad, so sad, don't bug me now." Not going back there. Goodbye to 15 years brand loyalty. read more

Her Ladyship and I shopped here today around 1 PM, were greeted nicely by the lady clerk, working #1 register, as we entered the store. Personally, I didn't expect that, but it came with a friendly smile, so guess I should complain to management. I found their card and gift collection to be quite adequate, and take offense to the SPOILED BRAT, who said you're a crappy spouse if you buy a card here. To her, I bought two, AND, since I'm left handed and can't wrap for crap, left handed persons, and scissors, plus tape and ribbon, can be a very combustible affair. This can result in some extremely, creative language, causing some families on our court, to cover their children's ears. So, I also purchased lots of tissue paper wrapping and colorful birthday bags to place her gifts in. We were going to Long's for years (Danville, Dublin, Palo Alto, Pleasanton), and were disappointed, when CVS bought them out. Pissed too, with a upper case P, when we found out, a card was required, to do business with CVS. We've been doing business with this store for years, myself also in Dublin and Pleasanton, and have always had a good experience with the pharmacy and the store. Parking can be an issue from time to time, but something usually turns up pretty quick. Lots of other business's here, so perhaps you can accomplish some other tasks, while your in the area. I have recurring gripes about this place. I've come here for many years for random stuff. Now I just try and avoid this place like a plague and only come for emergencies if say, I run out of Sour Patch Kids. You get the gist. Pharmacy forgets to call your name when your Rx is ready even though they say they will. That's minutes of your life wasted from waiting around that you don't get back. Pharmacy puts you on hold on the phone and forgets that you are on the other line. Some more minutes wasted - BOTH life and cell phone minutes. That double whammy combo irritates me considering I'm on a 450 minutes a month cell phone plan. So I call back and no apologies were given by the lady that had a memory lapse that she was just on the phone with me. Yep - I killed a couple brain cells myself trying to figure out how she got hired in the first place. The assortment of greeting cards absolutely sucks. So don't come running here last minute trying to find a decent card for your wife whose birthday you forgot. ACTUALLY, on second thought I guess if you did forget your wife's birthday then I guess you would pick up any sloppy meaningless card anyway so YEA! Run here and get the crappy customer service here you deserve for being a crappy spouse! read more

My wife has been ill and I have been in and out of this CVS 3-4 time a months excellent service in the store and more than satisfactory service in the pharmacy. There is a wait at the pharmacy at noon and 5-7PM as people come to pick up prescriptions during non-work hours; otherwise not a problem. I appreciate that there is always a clerk or manager in the store to answer questions; usually asking , "can I help?". Ignore the 2008 review as there is no longer a Post Office; however, one available at the nearby UPS store. Also ignore the 2008 review referring to "Longs" - long gone. read more

The saving grace of a place like this is that it is open 24/7 so if you have the runs or are running a temperature, CVS is here to help. However, given that Walmart, Target and TJ's are nearby, one would be hard pressed to find a reason to come here during normal shopping hours. read more

I was in to mail a package , and Boy! has the service gone down since Long's was here! Not only do you have to get your box from the back of the store, and they only had one big one, they have NO popocorn to pack it with, and the gal just throws the tape to you and you get to do that too. Goodness, I think I'd rather wait in line at the Post Office - at least they are friendy and say, "thanks". read more
