The Minute Clinic here really depends on who you get. I took my younger son here when he had the flu. The blond PA saw us. She didn't seem to know where anything was in the office. Then she completely freaked out when my son's heart rate was very elevated and refused to give him Tamilflu because it can cause hallucinations. SHE SAID THIS IN FRONT OF HIM AFTER I TOLD HER HE TENDS TO BE ANXIETY PRONE. We left. I ended up taking him to the Urgent Care at Scripps Clinic. They saw us right away. The were not concerned about the elevated heart rate, as he had a fever of 101.5 and was dehydrated. They had him stay three hours, forced fluids and gave him ibuprophen on top of the tylenol I had already given him and prescribed Tamiflu without hesitation. The day prior I took my older son who had the flu. Different PA - darker hair. She knew where everything was, was efficient and knowledgeable, and prescribed Tamilflu! Great experience. read more

I purchased a walker at CVS Del Norte. They only had one of the type I needed. I needed it urgently after a family member fell. When I opened the box there were loose broken pieces. I called CVS Rancho Bernardo to see if they had one. The person I spoke with, Sheena, put me on hold to check. She came back on the line and said they had one. She put my name on the box and set it up front for me to purchase, which I did. I really appreciated her customer service in checking for me. I had called another location first and was told they were too busy to check. It turned out to be a better brand than the previous one on top of it. Thank you Sheena, you saved the day! read more

We had the worst experience with the pharmacist working the evening hours at this pharmacy. Simply awful. Did not have the medicine for my daughter in stock. Did not offer to call to other local pharmacy's to see if the medicine was in stock. Had the audacity to tell me it was the physician's job to call around to each pharmacy to see if the medicine was in stock. She was rude, condescending and completely unhelpful. When Rite-Aide closed they sent my prescriptions to CVS in Poway. When I go to pick up my prescriptions they are never ready and they are rude behind the counter. I've tried to get them to call the doctor for refills and they always say that they are waiting for the doctor to call back. I never had a problem with Rite-Aide. The service is terrible, I've gotten wrong quantities, wrong prescriptions, when I called just now to see about an error, the person in the pharmacy kept repeating the same thing over and over again, "we don't know when we'll get it in." I said, "will I be notified, since the prescription amount isn't correct?" She said, "I have to go now, and hung up on me. Only a monopoly on services would allow a business to conduct themselves in this way. If I could give this pharmacy less than a 1 Star I would. They never have anything in stock, are very unprofessional, and give wrong co pay information. When you are sick and driving to the pharmacy to get your prescriptions and get better you should be able to count on your pharmacy to have what you need and be professional. I've never had an issue with the pharmacy at this location. I came here to pick up my dads prescription and it's usually not much of a wait. Also, in the past I've transferred a prescription here a couple times for like a one time deal type of thing and it was never an issue. I think our of all the pharmacies I've been to CVS in general has the easiest system for transferring scripts (note: if you have it at another CVS location) I've also come here to get some face washes and OTC topicals, etc. Always found what I needed. But I'm always here to be in and out not socialize. So I have no complaints. read more

Oh my! Where is the love for CVS? The people of Poway have very high standards. I needed to get my drugs here, so we stopped by and dropped off the prescriptions and then strolled the aisles buying stuff and cooling down from the outside heat. This CVS has "lots of stuff" and Sofie and I were able to find what we wanted easily. They also have lots of crap that is also fun to look at... as in "I can't believe anyone would buy that!" - but I will not mention any of the items that made me guffaw and snort because I do not want to offend any of the good people of Poway. I have never left a review before in my life, but I need to. I called the pharmacy to see if one of my prescriptions was there instead of the Wal Mart Pharmacy because I had a little mix up where my prescription was being sent. First, she accidentally answered the phone I suppose because she was talking to her coworkers and complaining about the store. She realized I was on the phone and said, "Oh please tell me you didn't hear that". She proceeded to laugh and laugh and then asked me what she could help me with. Second, it turns out my prescription wasn't there so I told her that's ok, and Wal Mart already faxed my doctor the request. She didn't hesitate to say, "Why do you use Wal Mart? Why not us?" This wasn't a professional "survey" question, the tone in her voice sounded like she was personally offended that I didn't use their pharmacy (which I have before, I am in the system). This place is right on par for a CVS. I go in here all the time whether it be for prescriptions or quick trips to grab something we NEED right away, etc. The staff are all usually very friendly, minus one lady who is a bit nutty about things. Bought wine in there one day and my 15 year old picked up bags to help carry things to the car. She flipped out, telling us he couldn't carry them. Seriously? I gently removed the bag from her claws and handed it to my son. She didn't say much after that. The one thing they could really work on is their bathroom! I am not a big germaphobe, but their bathroom is groooooooss. Pretty sure they sell bathroom cleaner and sponges in the store, now they just need to use them. read more

I like CVS. I had to run in here to go to the Minute Clinic because I thought I had strep throat. I went right when the clinic opened at 9am and was the first person in line. I registered on their computer and only sat for a moment before I was called in. The woman who helped me (Ann) was a pleasure to deal with. She was informative, personable and helpful. Just what you need when you're not feeling well to begin with! I ended up testing negative for strep, but she hooked me up with some OTC meds and a flu shot. She even wrote prescriptions for me so I could use my FSA money. I spent a little longer in the store to check out the selection and was fairly impressed. The prices seemed okay (you may be able to get some stuff less at Walmart). They also have one of those scratch ticket machines, which my hubby had fun with for a bit while I was in the exam room. (Yeah, we didn't end up winning anything though...) The old dude at the front counter was a pleasure to deal with as well. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd go back. read more

This store absolutely sucks! Every tine I have been here in the morning there is never more than 1 lady working the entire store (not counting the pharmacy) in the back. There is ALWAYS a problem ringing up a sale or someone using a coupon or whatever. Nothing runs smooth or quick. People don't come here to do a big grocery shop. They use it for convenience to come get a few things and get in & out. That will never happen here even if there is only one person in front of you in line. There is always something that happens that will delay and postpone getting out of there quickly. Today I waited behind a guy trying to buy a bottle of booze at 8:00am. The price was mislabeled and the guy was arguing with the woman ringing him up. Like I said, she is the only person working the store and nobody else could ring me up. Pharmacy staff are very short and rude. I understand that it can get busy, but the service has been consistently poor. There also seems to be issues with communication as multiple times prescriptions have been held up despite requests being put on time for when we needed them. A rude pharmacist sent us over to another station very quickly like she didn't want to deal with us. Then, what seemed to be the head pharmacist cut us off after asking how he can help, not very helpful when we are describing what we were there for. Also saw them hold a customers product despite her already paying for it and requesting it. Just poor service overall and the staff don't really seem fit to interact with people. Avoid if you can. Can't give one star because I don't know what the main store is like, but the pharmacy is unfortunately very unpleasant to deal with. read more

They should call this the 1 hour clinic not the minute clinic. I have been waiting at least that long with no confirmation other than my name in the #1 spot on the electronic kiosk I signed in at. Both doors shut and it's not even their scheduled lunch time. After waiting 20 mins on hold to find out if they were affected by the TB shortage I came right over. I'll be furious if I waited this long (without being able to confirm they can in fact do the test) and they tell me I did all this for nothing. Wait a sec I was just talking to another person about how long I've been waiting and the nurse came out and rudely asked if she could help me (must have heard me talking) and I was informed that yes they have the TB and she is busy and will be out shortly. read more

Do these people read their reviews? This is insane that they are still operating and are in charge of peoples medication. I never leave reviews but the way I was treated at this CVS was HORRIBLE. I switched to Walgreens right next door and HIGHLY recommend no one comes here EVER. I called the day before to make sure my prescription would be ready in the morning and the person I spoke to insured me it would be. I called the next morning after not receiving anything letting me know my script is ready and this lady with an accent (I forgot her name) was extremely rude to me and as I was explaining to her that I need my medication in the AM she literally HUNG UP on me and said she's busy. I had my doctor call and 15 min later she called me sounding extremely inconvenienced by me and said "k come pick it up." Every time I come in there its a sh*tshow and all of the employees are yelling at each other. Normally I have to say that the pharmacy staff is Amazing. However I am appalled in regards to how I was just treated by the woman closing the pharmacy shop tonight (wed April 18). I approached the pharmacy counter at 8:55 as I had checked online and thought the pharmacy closed at 10. Walked up to the counter and inquired if they were closing and that I thought online they were open until 10. She, as she continues to close before 9, states "no, that's the store. Pharmacy is 9" with an awful attitude. I attempted to inquire further, again technically lady before 9, but was ignored. The only thing I had to do was exchange a receipt for a refund (from a differential when I had to pay out-of-pocket for a script until my insurance responded). I had already talked to a different pharmacist on a different day... Who was amazing... And it would only take a minute. I walked out of the store at 8:57 I'm sorry but this is one of those days where if you say are open until nine, you have to expect a customer coming in at 8:57. Either that or advertise that you don't take customers after a certain time so that you can leave on the dot. read more

Im 22 years old. Im not one to complain, but seriously, do not go to this CVS. The WORST service I've ever had. I've had serval issues every couple of months refilling my prescription. I called to refill my prescription three days ago, they didn't have the brand of my prescription in stock, so they told me they would call and restock and it would be here on Thursday. There is a note on my account that says I need a specific brand, and that I have bad reactions to the general brand. I called on Thursday, they tell me that my healthcare provider canceled my prescription. I called my healthcare provider, and they tell me that is not true. I called CVS back, I believe she said her name was Sandra, she employee has an insane amount of attitude and hostility towards me, I explain that my provider did not cancel my prescription, and the employee tells me that she is just going to find me a different CVS and hangs up abruptly. I call a different location trying to transfer my prescription to their location, and the employee on the phone tells me that they can see that the Poway location is ordering my prescription, but in the wrong brand. This is the 3rd time i've had issues with them refilling my prescription, or ordering the wrong brand, despite my notes on my account. I hope they get some new employees. read more

This review is for the minute clinic portion of the establishment only. The NP mounted her high horse today and decided it was appropriate to lecture me on my parenting skills. I am a mom to three kids for thirteen years. I have been using minute clinics elsewhere for simple sinus infections and ear infections for years. I am not a believer in antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. I used an osteopathic doctor for years. This kid rarely needs antibiotics and I know when she needs them. I use probiotics during and after use. She had the flu start 10 days ago. She was fine 6 days later and went back to school. Then, she got a fever from an obvious secondary infection this mornig. The NP didn't like the fact that I diagnosed it which is an obvious thing to diagnose especially when it has happened in the past with this child. I have never been treated this way by a professional and will not be coming back here again. My kid had a fever this morning, but didn't at the clinic, of course. Every mom knows that happens. Does the NP listen to history and my past experience with my child? Nope. Now, tonight my daughter's fever has returned and I will have to make an appointment with her pediatrician Monday morning. This is exactly why I chose a home birth with this child. Some people in the medical profession think they have all the answers and the child's own mother knows nothing. If the NP would have had a civil conversation with me in the beginning, she might have learned that I am an excellent mother and yes NP, that I do know that I am the mother and she is the child. Go to a different location or wait until Monday morning like me. read more

I take over 8 different medications. I've been to several pharmacies. This is by far the worst I've ever been to. Unfortunately, my insurance changed and I have no choice but to use this one. My preference is Walgreens on Poway Rd. Or the Costco in Poway- excellent customer service, treated with respect and you know they genuinely care about you. Cvs in Poway I sadly cannot say the same. The older male pharmacist is so rude!! Everytime I've had a encounter with him it's just horrible. He cuts you off while you're speaking and it's always his way, not the customers. Everytime I go into the pharmacy at cvs poway, everyone has a nasty attitude, seems to have no clue what's going on and look upset to be working there. Or they'll ignore you and talk amongst each other. Not to mention how many times I've been told to come in and pick up my prescription and come to find out it's not even ready. Also, don't rely on them to send a request for refill to your dr. They're unreliable so plan on doing it yourself. I literally dread going here.
