Came here after the Safari park because hubby was craving poke. We saw the positive reviews and decided to come here an order takeout for a late lunch. We ordered the poke plate. It comes with 2 scoops of rice and 3 big scoops of poke. We got the Pearl Harbor, garlic salmon, and got the bluefin tuna, which was an extra $4. The portion was very generous and my husband and I split it. I enjoyed the Pearl Harbor the most, which has a nice umami flavor from the oyster sauce. A close second was the bluefin tuna. The garlic salmon was tasty as well. My only complaint was there were a few sinewy pieces that made it really chewy. Despite this, I thought this place was still worthwhile and a great value for $28. Have been going to HFS for a while in Mira mesa and was so excited it opened in Poway! Got the poke plate with spicy ahi, shoyu ahi, and firecracker salmon. Their fish is so fresh and tender and the flavors are amazing! Definitely some of the best poke you'll get in San Diego. But I came here specifically to get their day old poke which is 40% off. They only have a limited amount and it's best to get it when they open cuz it does sell out quickly. This day old poke is still fresh and I use it make my own bowls at home. I got the shoyu poke and the Alahao which is only available on Wed. (This is why I go there on Thur.) Came in for lunch wasn't sure exactly what to expect. They had some ceviche I was very interested in but when I saw tuna belly, my decision had been made for me. They offer the plate with two sides, I doubled up on rice. The tuna belly was cooked extremely well, and the flavor was amazing. They do a great job of having a balanced dressing so that you can still taste the fresh and fatty fish. The service is always good and so consistent. I think the only hard part is the funky shape of the store, so standing in line can feel a bit awkward, but what can you do. We came on a Tuesday so I had to try their Taco Tuesday special ($5 each). They were freshly made with a very unique but tasty Harissa sauce. My wife had a bowl of Cilantro Mayo Poke and it was delicious too. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They made our order quickly and the fish in my tacos was nice and hot (temp-wise). I come to San Diego a lot and HFS is a non-negotiable for me -- I have to get poke while I'm here. The garlic salmon and miso salmon (!!) have remained my favorites, but I love ahi to mix it up a little bit. Their plate is the perfect amount for me and one other person to share, even when we do half rice half salad. We placed an order through the phone because they do 10% off on Thursdays if you do takeout. We got there around 12:45 on Thursday afternoon for lunch, and it wasn't too busy. They made our order fresh when we got there, but there were definitely other customers coming to pick up their orders as well. Love this new location of Hawaiian Fresh Seafood in Poway. It's centrally located (central in Poway) and convenient. There is ample seating both inside and outside on the patio. The staff welcomed us in as soon as we walked through the door. We had a few food allergies so they were able to answer our questions about certain ingredients. We ordered the Shoyu and the Garlic Salmon and some white rice. All delicious. We sat inside and enjoyed the upbeat music playing over the speakers. Unfortunately, this location is not to compare to the original and I would avoid coming here until they are more consistent with their quality and portions. Food 3/5: I got my go to poke nachos with garlic salmon and this is the first time that I experienced my wonton chips being way too overcooked. For my boyfriend, I got a medium bowl that I brought home to him and the first thing he noticed was the lack of fish they put in his bowl. My friend that I had come with got a bowl as well and was complaining about the same thing. Service & Ambiance: I do like how you get to see them make your food and how it is displayed unlike the Mira Mesa location and I was able to ask for extra sauce on my nachos. This poway location is tucked away in an unassuming plaza with tons of parking. The store itself is quite small - the counter is to your left and there is table and high top seating scattered around inside and outside. There's also a kiosk where you can place your order if you prefer to do that instead of ordering at the counter. They have a nice selection of rotating poke flavors. On the day I went, they only had salmon and ahi. I ordered garlic salmon (a must) and spicy ahi in a medium bowl. The fish is extremely fresh and flavorful, and pairs great with the warm white rice. Yeah came on a Sunday around 1 but it got really crowded after. I got the small (1 scope of rice and 1 scope of fish) for around $15 Future me - shoyu ahi has been consistently a little salty. Also they don't give out water cups so bring your reusable water. Also maybe pass on the Mac salad and day old octopus salad. Also they don't let you split half rice half salad with the small bowl. Freshest poke in town! We usually frequent the Mira Mesa location and we're absolutely thrilled to find that they had opened one up in Poway. The location is tiny but there are a few tables outside and some in the back of the restaurant. Whether you prefer a light lunch or heftier meal, you can choose a customized small or medium bowl or a poke plate. The last time we went, I tried the Garlic Shrimp but it wasn't as flavorful as the plates I've had Giovanni's and Romy's Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp. I guess I was expecting something more along those lines. For poke, I quite enjoy their Garlic Salmon, Spicy Ahi and Poke Nachos...always a crowd pleaser. We're also fans of their spam musubis which are cooked up to order, nice and piping hot. I believe they run about $5 each and never disappoint. It is located in the old "Greens Please" location and if you've been there, you know how bad parking can be. So plan ahead. They have a small seating area in the back and barstools seating in the front, with some small tables outside as well. The poke bowls were made to order. My friend enjoyed it though she said she wished there was more toppings like other poke places. I ordered their volcano shrimp tacos and that was pretty tasty. Mine had flour tortillas. It looked freshly made but I wish it was double layered because the tacos were getting wet and falling apart towards the end. Another friend had their grilled fish tacos and she liked it too. I've been supporting this business since 2020 when they had loyalty stamp cards and I constantly promote them on social media, unpaid. With how much this business has grown and even getting rid of the stamp card, the least that could be done for loyal customers is keeping prices/quantities consistent through all locations. In comparison with the Mira Mesa location, the portions are definitely more generous and the restaurant isn't as busy (no line!). I did think the fish was a tad more mushy and tasted less fresh than the other location. You can get a mix of greens and rice which is nice, though the greens are just raw and completely dry as opposed to a proper bed of dressed salad, and I struggled to season it with the little amount of sauce from the fish scoops. But overall it's a delicious lunch with fast service. Remember to bring your water bottle as they don't provide water cups! read more

Always a good experience when I come here and always clean and tidy. Service is great and the poke is delicious! I always get ahi nachos and the wonton chips are always crispy.
