Longs used to be cool until they became CVS. Now you walk in and you will notice how understocked the shelves are. We walked in and searched for a hair product-mousse to be specific. They had very limited amount in stock. It was very frustrating and I feel was a waste of time to keep a store open with barely a minimum of basic things. read more

I am completely appalled by the woman who just rang me up. As I was paying a woman left the store and set off the stores inventory alarm system. The woman ringing me up gets on her in ear mic and hisses "African American woman, large purse looks BEAT" she then proceeds to say to me "And they wonder why they are all stereotyped". I snatched my receipt from her hand and marched straight out. I will not be returning in favor of a drug store with less racist cashiers. read more

We would always drive a few extra miles just to come to this store for a friendly experience. She is friendly, caring and always seen genuinely happy to see us there. Our Yelp buddy, Janet O., is spot on. The stock can be fairly limited and the service is weak. I don't know why, but I've been getting such terrible service at a few places lately. I was in line for almost 5 minutes with two people ahead of me. One guy was paying with just pocket change and the other lady needed to have every single item price checked. They were understaffed so the only cashier checking people out had to go do the price checking. M dot F dot ing ridiculous. I wish more places had those self checkout areas and save me the trouble of having to deal with poor management and idiotic staff/customers. read more

RUN AWAY SCREAMING. I just moved to San Jose and previously used the Longs pharmacy in Mountain View for all of my family's prescriptions. I thought it would be a simple matter to change pharmacies since they're both Longs and everything is computerized. No. To transfer two prescriptions over, I had to call them over and over and over and talk to four different employees, explaining the same thing over and over again. It turns out that their stores don't talk to eachother so they had to manually transfer over the prescription. Once the prescription was finally in their system, I dropped off my insurance card earlier in the day so that I wouldn't have to stand there and wait for them to enter my insurance. When I went to pick up my prescription (4 hours later), they hadn't entered my insurance and I had to stand there for 15 minutes and wait for them to very slowly enter it. Then when they finally entered it, they said they couldn't give me the prescription because the pharmacist is at lunch (this is at 8pm) and "by law" they can't give it to me without the pharmacist there. I waited 15 minutes for the pharmacist to come back from her 8pm lunch and they told me that one of the prescriptions was out of stock and I'd have to come back the next day. WHAT THE FUCK!!! I came back the next day, waited on their line again, and again they told me that I couldn't get the prescription until the pharmacist approves it. This time the pharmacist was there, but do you know what she was doing? She was listening to a sales pitch from a drug-company representative. The pharmacist's name is "Linchi" While the line of customers got longer and longer, the pharmacist, who's name is "Linchi," didn't tell the pharma representative to go away and come back when there were no customers. She didn't seem to give a damn that customers were waiting for their medicine. About 15 minutes later, the pharma rep finally concluded her sales pitch and went away. The pharmacist asked me what I want and I said I need to get my medicine. Then Linchi told me that I need to go back to the end of the line and someone else would help me. Unbelievable! I got home and called the pharmacy back and asked for the name and number of the pharmacy manager. The person who answered the phone put me on hold for a while and then told me that it's against their policy to give that information out. Against their policy! I asked if they're afraid of what I'll tell the manager, and she said no, it's just against our policy, but that I should call back later and ask again. If you have even the least bit of self respect, you will do whatever it takes to find another pharmacy. If you need to drive 20 miles out of your way, then do it. Do not, under any circumstances, go to this Longs/CVS pharmacy. Ever. read more

Wish yelp allowed zero stars. Tried CVS again..doctor called in a prescription at 1:00PM - I showed up at 6:30PM (5 1/2 hrs later) and STILL the scrip is NOT ready. I was told to wait and it would be ready in 15 minutes...45 minutes later I had to ask "Excuse me, is my order ready yet?". Was asked what's your last name again?? I gave it...and STILL NOT READY... I have to also make a point that many people came after me and dropped off scrips..and they were taken care of quickly. Mine, was in a box, and behind the counter but I could SEE the box...but couldn't go back to grab it. So after 45 minutes of waiting, I said rather loudly..."Take your time..I'll come back tomorrow...hopefully you will have it ready by then". I may not go pick it up and have my doctor call it in elsewhere.. Save yourself frustration and go anywhere but CVS. read more

So my Dr. wanted me to pick up pain/anti inflammatory meds since I was having trouble breathing and was in intense pain. This is due to a work injury I suffered. I get a text saying i needed to provide my insurance. Although I don't see any options for providing workers comp. I go to the store to explain this.This small young Asian lady behind the counter tells me I need to provide her with a piece of paper that has my workers comp number and the phone number of the adjuster. I come back with a piece of paper that has the information she wanted. She tells me no, and to get her a different paper. So I get her another paper. This time she tells me it doesn't have enough information and I need a BIN number, a PCN, and group#. Well..... why didn't she tell me she needed this information in the first place? I'm literally in pain and having trouble breathing and she is sending me on useless errands? To top it off. She goes to the back and asks her coworkers for opinions. And I am fairly certain I heard her call me rude not to mention her coworkers consoling her saying "You are doing the right thing". This place is beyond unprofessional. read more

I have a weekly medication, which I have to inject weekly. I normally go to this location to fill my medication because of the close location to my home. I received 3 voicemails notifying me that my prescription has been filled. When I went in to pick up my meds, I was informed by a short haired portly woman that they were out and needed to order, and was told that they needed my doctors approval. I explained to her I had more then one message saying my prescription was available, and my meds are on a auto refill. Portly rudely told me I was wrong, I asked her to send to another location. Portly "there no point we close in 5minutes". I calmly walked way from her and called the other location where I explained the situation. The pharmacist from the other location looked up my prescription and said "they have already proceeded your medication, please ask them to reverse it and I will fill for you for pick up tomorrow". I returned to the blossom hill CVS pharmacy, this time a younger girl with night club makeup called me forward I explained I was currently in the phone with the other CVS pharmacy location, they wanted her to reverse their processed order on my medication. "Night Club makeup" says "No, we are closing in 10mins, I am only given out medication, what you are asking will take 10minutes to process." Keep in mind the other Pharmacy is on the phone and can hear everything. I then ask the pharmacist on the phone if there is a supervisor I could call. Once "Night Club Makeup" hears me say this, she then tells me she can help. The other pharmacy tells me to call them back in the morning and have them call Blossom Hill in the morning and they will take care of it. I work in retail, I know what it's like to want to go home, but customers always come first. It's our job, why we get paid. read more

I have had two prescriptions filled for 10 years at a Belmont Safeway, but when I moved to San Jose I transfered my prescriptions to CVS since it was close to my house. From day one they screwed up my prescriptions. I needed them to call the doctor and get one of the prescriptions renewed. I went in on a Sunday, they said they'd call the doctor. I went in Tuesday and was told they hadn't been able to reach him yet. I went in Saturaday and told the woman there that they had called my doctor. She found no record of anyone calling, and couldn't find his phone number. I had to get his number and give it to her, but even then, it took me going in one more time before they finally called him. The other prescription was for 6 pills. Month number two I got home and saw there were 4, not 6. I went back and they gave me two more, but only after having to give me a refund of my co-pay and then charging me again. That was the same time that they needed to call and get my other prescription renewed. You think by now they'd have the number....no luck, and after coming back 4 days later to pick it up and find they hadn't called the doctor, I took my prescriptions and went across the street to Walgreens and had one refilled. I also spoke with the manager, Don, at the CVS pharmacy, who said he had been off those days, and he was sorry. I told him I had moved my prescriptions, and he seemed like he didn't care. You think I'd be done with CVS, but today, two months later, I go to have the other precriptions refilled. No record of it being transferred to Walgreens. They called CVS who said they had transerred my prescription, but they didn't know where it had been transferred, I was no longer in their system. CVS told them I'd have to call my doctor and get a new prescription, even though there were 9 refills still on it. Unfortunately, Walgreens admitted that they would have to do that, and they did. It's late of Friday, so I don't know if the doctor will get back to them, but I'm out of medication now and as far as I'm concerned, it's CVS's fault. At least I got a $25.00 gift card that I didn't realized I'd get for moving my prescription to CVS in the first place. Good thing I've spent it already because I'll never go into another CVS. read more

Horrible service. The only shimmering light was a male attendant on the phone that actually got it right... Anyways, I'm looking for Blowfish. A wonderful little hangover cure that you place in water and it gets rid of...you guessed it, a hangover. I looked on the Blowfish website and the locator says the one by my house has it. What a relief! I'm not hungover but that would save me a wonderful morning if I ever decide to go a little too hard. I call CVS and the lady greets me and says no we don't have it. Doesn't exist. Not, it's out of stock. Specifically we do not carry that product. WOW I thought. Blowfish is f**king up... I emailed Blowfish and the lady Brenna emailed back within like 3 minutes asking for the store I'm trying to get it at. She confirms that, yes, they do stock it there. She calls, tells me the price, how much they have left. WTF...I call CVS back and ask. This time it's a guy. And I ask for Blowfish. In the background I hear THE SAME LADY yell..."They just asked about it what the f**k." WELL RUDE PERSON...if you did your job well (which isn't hard) I wouldn't have to call the company DIRECTLY. Either you're in a bad mood or you don't know how to spell Blowfish. Two very common words just f**king strung together. Get it together CVS. Blowfish CS way better than CVS CS P.S. This CVS has lots of typical drug store merchandise, band aids, cough, cold, allergy, pain medication, ace wraps, etc. never good parking in front of store but can park in the middle lot. They carry similar merchandise Walgreens but the selection is not as diverse. The staff is helpful and friendly. They also have a photo center and do UPS shipments from inside the store. I don't shop much at CVS just make a trip here when I go to Togos typically to get a large bag of Lays potato chips! 3 stars. read more

The employee Marie or whatever her name was, was extremely rude to me. It was a super hot day so I brought my dog in with me because i didnt want her dying in the heat . when another customer came pushing a cart makng faces at my dog; my dog barked at her and the employee came charging at me out of nowhere yelling "EXCUSE ME MAM you NEED to leave NOW. there is a place for dogs and this isnt the place for ur dog I don't need your dog to come charging at other people here" mind you my dog was NOT charging at anybody and she couldve asked me to leave nicely instead of talking to us and kicking us out like that. I was still a customer just like anybody else, where was your customer service and manners at??? Just like all the other reviews, I've encountered many rude employees here and I hope the district manager or manager do something about it. read more

Never had a problem with stocked items and I haven't used the pharmacy yet so my experience here us always good. I get what I come for, the coupon machine always works (which is VERY important to me!) and the staff is friendly. I think most of these complaints are for the pharmacy? I came here with my friend because he had to buy something. The layout of this store was similar to other CVS locations I've been to which made it easier to find things. This store was clean and organized from walking around the store. There was plenty of parking as it shared other stores in this little outlet. When we went to pay, the cashier asked us if we had a CVS card so I gave my phone number instead. The stuff we bought didn't have any savings, but I guess it was routine to ask that question. This store can be cleaner sometimes, and the parking lot could use a new set of paint and seems super ghetto, but other than that I get what I need when I decide to stop by whether its medicine or snacks. The service I've experienced here is usually really good, except for the pharmacy. It's usually slow and sometimes there's a big wait. I remember coming here to get some vicodin or something after getting my wisdom teeth out. Man... I suffered through that wait; even the other customers that were waiting near me felt sorry for me. However, the staff that's usually on the floor or at the register are great. I was here to get medicine on the way to Sir Face because he had the flu, but for the life of me, I couldn't find the medicine he was looking for. When I couldn't take it anymore, I asked an employee (I wish I could remember her name... she's white with blonde hair just below the shoulders) who, with as much effort as me, couldn't find it either. We eventually asked someone in the pharmacy and showed her the picture (yes, Face actually took a picture of the medication), and she was able to show us where it was. Turns out the damn thing was in a box when we were looking for a bottle the entire time. Anyway, the blonde was just so pleasant that she made my day. read more

Probably the worst CVS pharmacy I've ever been to. Out of the 25 times I've called them, someone picked up maybe a single time. I swear they actively ignore callers. I'm currently writing this review standing in line for the pharmacy. They really need more staff. I've been first in line....for ten minutes and still haven't been seen. If you can go to ANY other pharmacy, do it. read more

(Pharmacy Review) I've been going to this CVS for over 40 years.  I had stopped going to the pharmacy 20 years ago because of a lack of service.  I still go to this store because the managers and staff have always been helpful to me for non pharmacy shopping. The Walgreens across the street was slightly better in my experience but was frustrated with the long lines and also making mistakes with my prescriptions.  Recently my insurance carrier told the Costco pharmacy to tell me to no longer use them and to tell me to go to CVS instead.  So, I figured I would give it a try.  I had the unpleasant experience dealing with Mustafa the pharmacist for my own prescriptions.   I had just thought he was having a bad day.  However, I went there with my fiance' to pickup her prescriptions who had previously received insulin pens but wasn't able to use them.  The pharmacy never provided the pen needles.  Mustafa was helping her and said he didn't have a prescription for the needles.  She explained that she needed them.  He kept repeating himself that he didn't have a prescription adding "What do you want me to do".  I said that was a simple, just give her the needles.  He told her to contact her Dr.  She said she had and that they told her to come in person to the pharmacy.  He repeated again that he didn't have a prescription what do you want me to do?  He must have said this over 15 times.  I said you do understand that the insulin pens cannot be used without the needles?  He didn't answer repeating the same line.  I added there should be an association between the two that triggers a red flag.  He said he didn't care.  So, she asked if he could call her Dr.  He put the phone on speaker phone as he was on hold and we could slightly hear it.  I heard a woman answer the phone with a greeting.  He had a little delay picking up the receiver.  He says they hung up on me!  what do you want me to do?  I said Mustafa she just had emergency brain surgery and is going through chemo with a compromised immune system right now and needs the insulin to help her recover.  After delaying he provided (3) needles as a temporary solution.  I would have to say that Mustafa has the personality of someone who should not be responsible for anyone else's well being. I'm afraid he has a lack of empathy that prevents him from being a responsible member within the pharmacy community.  I'm afraid that there will be more incidents like this one that negatively effects the care of others. read more

I would of gave them a four, but they have no public restroom, my friend has a medical condition that requires him to use the restroom constantly, and was there to purchase his medication, he had to use the restroom while waiting for his prescription, no public bathrooms horrible would not like to share what happened next, please change your policy its not fair for your customers. read more

This is one of the worst CVS store I have ever been too. I just had a horrible experience tonight. I went to the store to return some items, I went into the store and there was a long line. so I decided to maximize my team and picked up some other items so I can do the return and buy the stuff I needed and do it all in one transaction. Well, I was walking with the cart picking up some stuff, when all of the sudden I see this Caucasian woman "Alice - that is her name" following me. I look back again and asked her if she was following me and she said she just wanted to make sure, I was not putting merchandise in my bag. I looked at her and told her that what I had in the bag was a returned and that I had the receipts. She told me that she was doing her job!!! What that heck doing her job, I am Latina and don't look white, therefore I was a shoplifter (by the way, I am a professional and have three degrees) . This is plain racial profiling, just because I am not white I don't have money to pay for the stuff!!! The fact that this lady did not even apologize for making assumption truly pissed me off. After my experience tonight, I will make sure not to visit that store ever again. I will make sure to let everybody I know what happened to me tonight. P.S. If you are a minority and don't look Caucasian do not shop here. If you do, expect to be followed and accused of stealing. By the way, when I asked to talk to the manager, she said she was the manager. I asked her to give me the name of her supervisor and she immediately said that Johanna her manager would agree with her and would let me know that she was only doing her job.. read more

This is an average-sized Long's Drugs with all the usual merchandise. What sets this store apart are the hours they are open. This store is open until midnight everyday. I have found myself here when other Long's stores are closed picking up some medication or toiletries. The staff has always been friendly and when the lines get long another cashier is assigned. I recall looking for a baking ingredient once and was helped by a staff member. He searched in the back and even called another store to see if the item was something the stores carried. Unfortunately, Long's didn't carry the item, but this person's commitment to help was refreshing. read more

I came in to this store, on behalf of someone else, looking for something that I was told would be placed on hold. She asked me if my name was "so and so" and I said no. I told her the name of the person who informed me it would be on hold and Samantha, the Manager, said "oh it's because so and so has been calling all day. I wanted to make sure" I asked if the product was on hold. Again she said "no we don't have that at all. Everything should have been put out" Well I decided to wait in the parking lot. And guess WHO SHOWED UP. Her friend named "so and so" they walked in, bought the item and left. I called her just to explain how frustrated I was at the situation and how she lied straight to my face. She said " I don't need to explain myself to you, who knows if someone else helped him. Wether I lied to you or not is irrelevant" Folks, this is your local CVS Manager named Samantha, who doesn't ever care if she lies to your face as she doesn't have to explain herself. read more

I liked this store when it was Longs. I never had any problems with them, and I liked the store aesthetics. When it became CVS, I was excited, because it meant that I knew I could get my prescriptions just about anywhere in the country, if I were traveling, and forgot something or ran out. And that part did come up, and it was very easy to get my RX in another city. That is why I'm giving it two stars. Otherwise, I'd give it only one. I like that I can refill online, although their system needs to be less confusing. I did not like that I could not get an online account to track my daughter's prescriptions, until I was officially with CVS with the takeover. I hadn't needed any medicine personally for a long enough time that I was no longer in Longs system. The CVS online help suggests you can get an account to track a minor child's prescriptions, but once I actually tried to do it, I was told by customer service that it was simply not possible until I get my own prescriptions in the system. Then I can link accounts. Once I did that, things got easier, but navigating for refills can be a pain, and if you aren't careful, you can screw something up VERY easily, and not even get your prescriptions filled. Once CVS took over Longs, they changed the aesthetics to a more generic, corporate, badly lit layout and decor. It just doesn't feel friendly anymore. I have run into more issues with trying to fill prescriptions, like online will tell me they are ready to pick up, and they can't find them, or they are out of stock. On one, they had no idea when they might be in stock again, so I had to go back to the doctor to get a variation on it. Once CVS took over, the prices around the store went up. But good news! Become a member, and get coupons! Except that I usually forget about these coupons, or lose them, and rarely get to take advantage of them. CVS also stopped stocking certain items when they sold out of Longs stock. That's annoying. Longs had a neighborhood feel to it, and actually did customer service stuff, like change watch and garage clicker batteries. I went in today to change a battery, and I was told they don't do that, never should have done it, blah blah, due to liability issues. I can't open this thing up to even find out what kind of battery I need! I was going to them because that's what they did! That's over now. I am seriously considering switching where I get my prescriptions filled. I hate Walgreens, across the street, because the drive thru line is generally very long, and inside just is not inviting. CVS even has them beat there. But, Walgreens has been the place my husband has gone for years, and they generally don't seem to screw anything up. And they have a drive thru line. While it may be long, at least you can drive there in your pjs if you need to, and never leave a warm car. read more
