She takes the time to... - make sure all the insurance details are worked out ahead of time - double check what your copay will be for a new medication - anticipate shortages and talk through likely solutions - consider how your medication affects you more globally and, if you want, talk through those issues and potential alternatives And she'll do it before you even ask. Because she cares. She wants you to be well. I've gone to other small, independent pharmacies. I like them because they're locally owned. I like them because when you talk to the people there, it's usually the same people - not a giant rotating cast - and that matters because it means less "I don't know who told you that but..." and "above my paygrade / not my job." I like them because their wait times are almost nil, especially compared to giant chains. I like them because they're able to pivot more easily when a wholesaler or manufacturer is having a problem. Some independent pharmacies are ok, others are good. Cate's is GREAT. Because Cate is great.

I transferred from a big retail pharmacy and while I empathize that those folks are overworked and understaffed, it was really difficult to get a hold of any of them to get my C2 medications filled on time unless I were to go in person, ask them to fill it, and then return another time for pickup. With Cate and Wellcome, I can easily send a text or call. However, because Cate knows I will regularly need these medications, she works out the calendar to know when they can be filled and tells me the dates. Parking is easy in the El Paseo plaza - it's in the section of the plaza next to Saratoga Avenue - a little northeast of Lawrence/Quito, next to a traffic light. It's been such a delight these few weeks knowing my medications are handled in a timely and wonderful manner. I really appreciate the care Cate provides and her desire to be here for the community. It's so nice to be able to develop that relationship with a pharmacist as many retail pharmacists don't get the chance to do so with their patients due to the volume of their work.

I did a quick Google search and found Jade 2 just a couple minutes away. They originally said they were fully booked but gave me a call back when a couple people no-showed. I was extremely grateful and the process was very efficient. I walked in, filled out the form, got the shot, and was on my way within a few minutes. I am very afraid of shots and needles but she made it quick so I didn't have much time to be anxious. I would very much recommend getting the Covid Vaccine here if you can get an appointment! The experience is much better than a CVS or Walgreens.

(The supply and selection is not extensive, so I don't know how I missed it.) I thanked the pharmacist and told him I'd like to purchase it. He starting carrying it to the counter, then paused and looked at the item. He then said the product was expired and put it back on the shelf. I thanked him for checking and headed off to another pharmacy. When I found the item at another pharmacy, I thought I should check the expiration date. I was surprised to notice there was no expiration date. I then noticed that none of the other brands manufacturing the same product had expirations dates listed. Not one. I googled the item, and learned that this is an item that does not actually expire. It was such a bizarre encounter at KML.

Drop-off then told me to go to Consultation (after waiting in line for a while for a slow customer at Drop-off). Consultation told me that the prescription was for a $200 drug that I could alternatively get off the shelf. Why didn't pickup just tell me that instead of "we're waiting for more info from the doctor"? Because there was a long line. While it's bad enough falsely blaming the doctor to shorten the line, by sending me to another booth, I ended up making two more lines longer! So they used me to make their problem worse. Youch; it's sad when the operational inefficiency is more off-putting than bad customer service.

The dermatologist's office suggested this pharmacy because the cream would be a bit more affordable. The pharmacy called as soon as they received the prescription and even though insurance would cover the prescription at a much higher cost, they still checked. The cost would have been close to $300 if I went through insurance but if filled directly with Wellness, it was $90. Communication was smooth, I got regular updates via text, even an option to prepay before gong to pick up the prescription. I went by to pick up my prescription around 3pm on a weekday and there was no line and I was in and out with my cream. I removed one star because of the parking situation - I can never get parking here, I used to go to a RN in the same building and it was always bad. For the number of businesses in the building, there is very limited parking in front. You can go around the back and park in the dirt and walk up or park in the underground parking. Basically, it's a bother. Great service and people!

The pharmacist can't catch him because he is on the other side. I guess cvs doesn't care about safety. You're treated like a farm cattle. Unprofessional, distasteful, very tacky experience. A similar gallon of milk cost me $4.99 at Safeway but I had to drive 10 minutes to get to Safeway for that milk. To me this 7-11 is very reasonably priced and I really appreciate that. I also think it helps increase sales at 7-11 stores if they stay reasonably priced because people won't have a reason to drive all the way to a grocery store if they can get a short list of items at 7-11 for nearly the same price. Another thing that is great about this 7-11 is the customer service. I recently had to pay with quarters and at no point did I feel embarrassed about this while shopping here and that made me feel good. The team member working the cash register actually told me that they appreciate men paying in change because they need the change! I will say that it's a bummer that they don't take Apple Cash here though.
