This pharmacy is open 24 h, which is probably why people try to put up with them using delivery & auto refill It is very difficult to solve problems with a prescription that can't be solved on the app. as when you call CVS pharmacy , there is no option to speak to a pharmacist - getting through the menu of recommendations, I feel suicidal When I call, I'm inundated with unwanted information on vaccinations & my need to use app & then CVS texts the app to download when the entire reason you are calling is because the app can't fix a certain problem. The bot repeats 'yes' or 'no' demanding an answer to a moot & unanswered question The bot is designed to not comprehend 'speak to pharmacist' It's torture If you have auto refill they won't let you know if something is out of stock and if it is out of stock it could be for months-so too bad for you. This is not an exaggeration. They won't let you know No CVS had one of my autofill prescriptions (auto refill common drug) - the Pharmacist says to call other non CVS pharmacies To find out that your auto refill won't fill it may takes days Also I had an auto delivery - then was texted that the delivery was cancelled for no reason Another issue is that I was told another refill was out of stock indefinitely But I went to the pharmacist and pointed to the asthma med that was on a shelf - eye level- inches from the pharmacist I don't like going in there because it is dirty & there is a lot of shoplifting I want to take a shower ax soon as I get home Unfortunately I got a sore throat & cold just trying to go in & resolve the out of stock prescription I think ultimately the problem is CVS underpaying and understaffing pharmacists but who knows It's probably more complicated with multiple things at fault Like Pharmaceutical companies not wanting to manufacture something or refusing to make a deal with CVS One thing for sure is that customer service is horrible & the APP is horrible & at least the cheapskate could have a pharmacy chat read more

Our prescription was called in 36 hours ago and it is still not ready. My wife has been sitting on hold for two hours waiting for someone to answer the phone. meanwhile I went to the store I hear them paging for the pharmacy to answer the phone over and over yet no one answers the phone. I then asked the clerk at the pharmacy why they don't answer their phone and she said they do. I then explained my wife is sitting on hold for two hours and I hear them paging for you to answer your phone and she just said sorry. I found a great man named Christian that went inside the pharmacy and got me handled. This place is so mismanaged and overwhelmed And they need to tell the truth. This CVS pharmacy is the bane of my existence. I've come here to pick up meds at all different hours and days of the week and there is always a huge line. I don't know why I keep getting my meds sent here. They are always short staffed and you can feel the frustrated energy of the staff, they are very short with everyone. And everyone waiting in line is annoyed too. The whole experience is always so daunting. I don't understand why they are understaffed 24/7. It's absolutely discussing when people are waiting for the medicine in line and the person tells you I have to fill the prescriptions and I have to help this information line and if the line does not die, you will not get your medicine. I frequent this pharmacy for both medication when needed as well as some basic supplies. It has recently been upgraded now so half the store has that shiny fragrance area design and look similar to a Macy's or Nordstrom's. I read the prior reviews and while I can agree sometimes the wait can be lengthy when it's packed, it's not THAT bad, usually 15 minutes. To be honest, quite a few times it's been the customers there being rude as all hell to the staff, snapping fingers, all sorts of nonsense like they are servants, not store employees. I do see staff often just trying to move quick and say next, next, not rude, just efficient, and for me they don't have to feign happiness to see me like they have to in fast food places. It's been said tens of thousands of people in this country die yearly due to taking wrong medications, and/or at the hands of their doctors or health aids, that's my concern. In the ten years they have been my go-to pharmacy not once have I been given either wrong medication or a wrong dose in error. Tip: Tina, a pharmacist, is exceptionally kind and appears to like her profession and has gone out of her way for me to solve some coverage issues, I highly recommend her. read more

This CVS is awful. They never have the shelves fully stocked. It's a 24 hr pharmacy, so my husband ran out to get me Tylenol since I'm pregnant and it's all I can take. They didn't have basic Tylenol. What kind of pharmacy doesn't stock basic pain/fever meds? I really feel for the staff that works here. It seems desperately understaffed. Many items are being glass and you need someone to unlock them, but when you hit the button, be prepared to wait 10 mins (no exaggeration) or often, no one comes at all because they're too busy. The pharmacy -- good luck trying to speak to anyone. I once waited a half-hour and it was only because I was desperate. I don't blame him, but the pharmacist (or tech, honestly not sure who I spoke with) was very short with me because he was so stressed out. This is a VERY poorly run pharmacy. The mobile app can only provide so much assistance, but it comes down to the people in the organization to help with questions regarding pricing, insurance options and prescription availability. Most of the employees work hard but they are overwhelmed by the volume of customers and are sabotaged by the one or two workers that don't support the others and don't take their jobs seriously. The staff rarely answers the phone after 10am, the customers in the express line are often ignored and the regular line for service can get very long. I went to the pharmacy to ask for Claritin-D, the pharmacy technician said its in the alse. I REPEATED again, which was clearly behind her. Her demeanor changed to focus on the computer. I went to the also and of course it is not over there. Still dripping like a faucet. I grab some Flonase and left. These technician choose not to listen, and were extremely short tempered with the people they were serving. Ok I know.... nobody says anything great about CVS Pharmacy.. but for me, I was one of the lucky ones who had a superior experience at CVS Pharmacy in Santa Monica. I hope this experience is passed on to everyone else... I had an evening visit to UCLA Orthopaedic Hospital and they called in my prescription to CVS in Samo that has a 24 hour pharmacy..it took me 5 minutes to drive to CVS and lucky me - no one was in line!!! happy evening! The clerk gave me my prescription immediately and I guess I lucked out since no one was at the Pharmacy at 9:30 pm on a Tuesday evening... The main problem I observe at CVS Pharmacy is staffing. Maybe the Corporate Office should review that since the CVS in my neighborhood (PP) seems like no CVS Pharmacy employee wants to work there since it's so far away, and my local CVS is perpetually under staffed and the wait time is enormous. read more

A big shout out to the pharmacist "Brian". My husband's cardiologist needed him to start a medication immediately. Our neighborhood pharmacy did not have it so they transferred it to the local Rite Aid, which sadly also did not have the med in stock. I called CVS and spoke to Brian. He was really helpful and tracked down the prescription (which took a few calls) and had the prescription ready for pick up in less than 2 hours. I tried to thank him in person, but he had left for the day by the time that I came to pick it up. I figured that a good Yelp was the next best thing!!! read more

This pharmacy is absolutely awful, avoid at all costs. They don't call you when there's an issue with a prescription. They won't answer the phone when you call and try to talk to someone. And there's always a line of at least 10 people waiting to pickup prescriptions. Today I called in 5 different times, sat on hold for ~20 minutes each time, then when someone in the pharmacy finally picked up, I could hear them typing for a second and then they hung up on me without saying anything. After the 2nd time this happened I called and talked to a manager who said they would go back to the pharmacy and tell them to answer the phone but nothing changed as they hung up on me 3 more times. Went to the c v s April 26th, 2023, at 5:55 p.m., and took out forty dollars in cash.. The cashier handed me the money I put it in my wallet the next day. Went to ralphs to use self check out. The money wasn't working and there so I took it to the manager and he knew right away was counterfeit. The store manager, Jorge Was so unprofessional with me the worst experience I had at a store;( I went to the self check out and I was charged for an item I didn't have. I right away, went to the line with my receipt explaining to them that I'm not sure how I paid for this item he told me that there's nothing they can do. he didn't want to take the time to go back and refund me an item. I never received $12 item that I don't have in my hand I never got or asked for. I never experienced anything like this before it was like the store was stealing from me. This place is the worst and I only come here because I have to. Example of why it's the worst. My Dr called in a script 8 hours before I show up. I wait in line for 20 mins to get it. I am then told it's not filled and I am now typing this from another line. Maybe if they doubled the pharmacy staff it would help, but then the fat cats up top at CVS would need to take a pay cut and we know that won't happen. The pharmacy does something with the on-hold calls where the hold music discontinues like they are answering the line and muting it. There is just dead air. This goes on for many minutes 10+ and they never pick up the line. You're forced to hang up and call back again and again dealing with the 2 minute automated service to get the call thru. I usually love this cvs location, but this manager kept following me around the store asking me if i needed help...i said no...he said you keep walking around, i was looking around the store to buy something. So that was very annoying when all the attention was on a normal customer, when there's tons of homeless people always at the main entrance. Please focus the attention to that area, not normal customers coming in to shop. I bought some drinks and snacks by the way. BEWARE OF FALSE POSITIVES FROM RAPID ANTIGEN TEST AT THIS LOCATION AND THE NEARBY ONE IN WESTWOOD. On separate occasions, my coworker and I scheduled an appointment for rapid testing at this location. We are both vaccinated and are still doing routine testing for the safety of our workplace and loved ones. Within a span of 2 hours in one day, she received 2 POSITIVE result from a RAPID ANTIGEN test, and underwent confirmatory testing to be certain about this result. 3 PCR test results within 48 hours of this "positive" result came out NEGATIVE. I received a POSITIVE result from a RAPID ANTIGEN test from this location on Tuesday, and due to the situation she had, I scheduled 2 confirmatory PCR tests within 48 hours which all indicated NEGATIVE for COVID results. TLDR; the rapid antigen testing kits here and at the nearby one in Brentwood are showing up as FALSE POSITIVES for DOUBLE DOSE VACCINATED people and causing emotional distress. WARNING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE UNDERGONE SIMILAR TYPE OF TESTING - get several confirmatory follow up tests, as recommended by the CDC. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION PHARMACY I scheduled for this vaccine twice online. My appointment was accepted both times, and I received email confirmations, text confirmations, and text reminders of the appointments. The first time, I arrived on time and after waiting, I was told that this vaccine was unavailable. I was told it hadn't come in, but that I could make another appointment. I made another appointment, scheduling for a few days later to allow time for the pharmacy to receive the vaccine. I scheduled online, and received 3 confirmations of the appointment. I arrived on time and waited. After waiting, I eventually went to the window and asked about my appointment, and when I might be served. I was told by the pharmacist, Paris that the vaccine was not there. I asked why, for the SECOND time, I scheduled, and received THREE confirmations to drive to the store and wait for a vaccine that they didn't have. If the store knew they didn't have a vaccine, why didn't they reach out to the patients scheduled that day for said vaccine??? She said she hadn't looked until just now when I came to the window and told me "I should have checked before coming in to make sure that they had the vaccine". RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! I should check after making a second appointment and getting THREE confirmations for the appointment to confirm again that the vaccine was at the store? I live 200 feet away from this CVS so I visit often despite it basically being the sh!ttiest chain in existence. I've literally been hundreds of times so I have accumulated massive empirical evidence that this store objectively sucks. The price gauging and sad-sack customer service are not "unlucky" isolated incidents. It's systemic and endemic. It's obvious why this place was targeted by looters last month. It's a dystopian nightmare and a sad reflection of everything wrong with the world today. The only people who probably hate CVS more than the people who shop there are the people who work there. The lone chirpy voice you'll ever hear in this store emanates from the self-checkout kiosk. This place charges criminally high prices like $9 for a pint of ice cream, $8 for deodorant, or $7 for a box of cereal. They routinely send me 40% off coupons but even after the discount, most items are STILL more expensive than the regular price at Ralphs or Amazon. They also have also made a science out of issuing unusable coupons. The f*cked up tactic they employ is that coupons cannot be applied to sale items. Well, almost everything is always "on sale". So if a $7 box of cereal (that is $3 at Ralphs BTW) has a buy one get one 50% off "sale", you can't use a coupon to buy one at 40% off. If that $7 box of cereal is on sale for $5, you can't apply the 40% to the full price to pay $4.20 either. I also somehow have someone else's CVS account linked to my phone number (some b!tch named Brendylyn, who may actually be a really swell gal - but hate by association) so it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to use a coupon linked to my card with the app or a phone number lookup. I've wasted hours of my life trying to resolve this with their tech support but to no avail. Literally, the only way I can use a coupon is to print it out on a sheet of paper so that the miserable cashier can scan the bar code. Oh, and on the topic of killing trees, why do they print a 3-foot long receipt when many people often only buy one item? It's become such a joke, people make Internet memes using CVS receipts as vertical window blinds or ersatz toilet paper... The cashiers are also slow as molasses. Partly because every other customer is arguing over not being able to use a coupon or access their rewards account. The self-checkout kiosks don't accept cash and are "out-of-service" all the time. I guess even they need cigarette breaks to escape CVS purgatory. Not surprisingly, only one kiosk was working (as I am writing this while waiting in line) because they all got smashed by looters i.e. disgruntled customers. Why is there always a line 20 people deep anytime day or night when every other area pharmacy doesn't seem to have this issue? Chronically understaffed, rather unhelpful, and I've even been given wrong information about a drug my doctor prescribed. This is now the second time in a row I have come in to fill something, and gotten a nonsensical reply about my insurance not approving a refill. Extra comical that said insurance actually called me a couple days before to offer me home delivery on the same prescription! I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe pure disorganization and bad management. In the process of changing over to another pharmacy because I'm sick of it. This CVS Pharmacy is open 24-hours! I think it deserves 5 stars just for that reason alone. I mean, ever since the pandemic, it has become increasingly rare to find a 24-hour anything and especially pharmacies. This pharmacy has saved me so many times. I almost never make it in to pickup prescriptions at pharmacies that close. So, I am grateful for this CVS and the fact that they have stayed open even while most businesses in Los Angeles have chosen to close early. read more

The pharmacists here are rude, incompetent and unwilling to offer any help. In the past month, I have come here 3 separate times for 3 different prescriptions and I have not received a single one. They do not communicate with you at all about the status of your prescription when there are problems and don't pick up the phone.
