medical aisle with variety of supplies. More on the other side.

Let me start my review by saying how much I love this CVS and their customer service. I don't go there as often, but being the biggest store on Ventura Blvd, I can find a lot more things that I can't find at the 2 CVS stores closer to my house in Studio City. Customer service is top notch, they are all on board to help you and really want to help you by walking with you to the particular aisle/S to find what you are looking for. This review is ONLY for the store and not the pharmacy. I needed a special kind of vitamin about 2 weeks ago and the other locations that I normally go to were out. I found my vitamins pretty quickly and also checked out their medical supply aisle for some things like a walker, wheelchair, bed pan and other things for my neighbor, and they had it all for a very affordable/reasonable price. Thank God I haven't reached that point to use a walker or a wheelchair yet since my 2 legs & arms are working just fine. They have a vast amount of everything from food, clothes, beauty merchandise, medication of every kind, (over the counter), household items, paper goods, medical supplies, vitamins, beverages and more.. 3 employees are always on the registers with nice smiles, and 3 self check out machines. I get their coupons in my mail once every 2 weeks and they come in very handy when making a big purchase. They also have a lot of discounted items like buy one & get the 2nd one for free or 50% off. Look out for the yellow tags! Open 24/7, security guard by the door, they even have a water machine outside of the store, store is very well maintained and super clean. Plenty of parking spaces shared with Party City, a cleaners and this new business that opened up in the place of Marie Callendars! They do have a restroom and sometimes they let you use it and sometimes they don't. Thank you CVS & management!!

I've been a loyal customer for over a decade. The last 6-7 times I've come here to get a prescription the lines are ridiculous! They need to hire more people! I'm finally changing to any other location. If you get more customers.... Hit more help!!

This has become my go to CVS because of its convenience and ease of parking. I also like how spacious the store is inside. Checking out is also very quick as there are many available self check out stations as well as employees to help you if you need it. The store is also clean and well maintained. The downside is definitely that while the store is huge, a lot of products are often out of stock and they just don't do a good job of refilling things. I came here yesterday looking for a few items and every item I needed was out of stock. I was able to find some replacements but it definitely feels frustrating to see so many empty shelves!

New one-way security gates blocking half of the store, including the shampoo and toothpaste.

CVS has lost the plot. They're already losing business to amazon, and then they go ahead and make it feel more like a prison commissary than a business. This place already had everything locked up behind glass. Then they added multiple cops on duty inside the store. And just recently they added something I have never seen anywhere in my life: electronic security gates, blocking off half the store, with a one way entrance and exit. Shopping in places like this is just degrading. It's awkward, you're very aggressively and obviously being watched the whole time, and then you still have to wait for employees to unlock glass containers for basic items. And still, most importantly, you can't just stand there and shop! I can't do the basic things I need to do to make shopping a useful experience! Because you can't pick things up and look at them or read ingredients. You have to awkwardly bend down to peer at them at all. There's so little thought put into customer experience that they don't even bother to put the cases at eye level. There's just no point at all anymore. I want CVS to actually think for once: Why would I ever buy anything here instead of amazon? The pharmacy is great though, even though this location is always super busy they still have very friendly and helpful staff :)

Thank you so much Imanol for your excellent, purposeful service at the cashier. He also answered my questions very well regarding scrubs. He deserve a pay raise! ;) All personal items I need were all there--dry shampoo, make-up remover, wipes. Fast check out. Clean environment. God bless!

Took 4 tries to get the flash discount on ONE item !!

KEVIN, the "Manager", is disinterested in helping customers, this is the third interaction with him where he's been hurt and makes it clear that he'd rather you go to another store than have to deal with anything less complicated than pulling something off the shelf. Note that this issue came up with Kevin a year ago, and he's consistently uncaring if it doesn't suit his agenda or his timetable. That that's not how you handle loyal customers. They employ one "homeopathist", who apparently splits their time between stores, and was not available the three times we called. Apparently, she runs her own business and puts more of her time and energy in that then in being on site for walk-in customers. Did manage to schedule a call with the owner, we'll see if that makes any difference in how this rather entitled staff handles loyal customers. Called on a Thursday around 3:30 to see if they had anything to help me address what felt like a hard-hitting cold or flu, RIGHT before a 4 day business trip starting that evening. Got transferred inadvertently to the pharmacist - a woman who was lovely and took the time to go through over-the-counter options. She said she would put them aside for me at the register. I literally jumped in my car and headed over- and traffic being what traffic is at that time, wound up right at the correct exit at about 5:15 (they close at 5:30). Called the store, got someone named "Kevin" who said they were 'already closing up for the evening' (? it's 5:15, but okay). I plead that I'd been in the car for close to 45 minutes for what should have been a 20 minute commute, and could I please purchase the items, perhaps they could just leave them outside or with a neighbor. NOTE that I've been frequenting this business for close to 30 years, and like so many businesses, have observed what used to be genuine kindness and care for customers dwindle along with the rest of the retail culture. So Kevin again repeats he's 'already closing the register' and cannot help me. I manage to park and make it to the front door at EXACTLY 5:31. EXACTLY. The store is already gated and there is Kevin - RIGHT by the front door - and he ignores my knocking. Yes. This 'caring' business about wellness that knows I am trying to beat a horrible cold before travel chooses to IGNORE the 30-year-loyal customer because it's uncomfortable for Kevin to show some compassion or kindness. He waves for me to go away. I plead that the pharamacist left everything right there at the register, could I just please pay cash and get my items after being in traffic for close to an hour? Again, he ignores me. That will be my last trip to Capitol Drugs. Caring and wellness, this place is definitely NOT about. And Kevin: I hope you never are on the receiving end of the unkindness you showed this 30-year-loyal customer... WOULD GO TO KING'S DOWN THE ROAD with far cheaper pricing for the same Chinese and Homeopathic remedies at 1/3 the cost of the re-branded Capitol Drugs items.

The only downside is that parking is very very limited and everything is one way with a very narrow path to get in and out of your parking spot. But once you've parked and are inside, it's nothing but positives. The staff here is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. The nurses do an amazing job at keeping our two young children calm while they administer the shots (all the free candy & books & toys don't hurt). We're really appreciative of how well they manage what is such a scary event for so many kids. The location itself is quite small and they are doing their best to maximize their space which means outside of the room where they give the shots, there isn't a ton of space to walk around or even shop between aisles. But that's fine. If you're here to just put in or pick up a prescription it shouldn't be an issue. And both times we've made appointments ahead of time so we didn't have to wait for long. So, if you're looking for a good, local, family pharmacy, look no further than Elements. It's been great and as long as our kids are young, we'll absolutely be coming back.
