This review is long overdue. There is no Cosmo Prof that compares to this one. It is a smaller CosmoProf, but they tend to still have everything stocked up. Truly, what makes this one different is the employees. They are all amazing here. I have never had one issue with them. They always go above and beyond and they're extremely knowledgeable. I seriously want to shout each and every one of them out because they have all been extremely outstanding and you can tell that their store manager is running an amazing store. They are also always trying to make a personal . They seem to always have a good flow going on in there. I never have to wait and they're always ready to help . The other stores in the area tend to be rude and unhelpful, but not this location. I love this store and I highly recommend if you're a licensed cosmetologist to just come to this one ! read more

If I can give 0 stars I would. I went to return my product that I purchased. I provided my phone number and since I did not know it by heart, I looked at my phone. The front desk worker proceeded to ask for my ID to match the name on the account. I had no proof of Id on me since I've been going to cosmoprof for years not once has anyone asked for Id. My students come to the store and use my account to purchase products for me and yet again no proof of identification. Very rude disrespectful behavior. The other worker just starts staring at me as I'm walking out the store. Told them I'd be going to another location since they think their customers are not who they say they really are. No wonder the store was so dead compared to the others. read more

Let's start with the staff. I am always in this store. It's my candy store heheh. Lisa she has been such an amazing patient person with me. She always check if I need help finding anything. Even when I had issue with my card she helped me fixing it. She never made me feel like I am taking to much of her time on the contrary she step up to it and help and she gets out of her way to help you out. Not only Lisa. All the staff there is great. I have been working in the entertainment industry for over 16 years - my previous assistant who was an absolute delight applied for a job here part time so that she could continue to study too. I would like to call the man who called her just now about the position 'a gentleman' but listening to the conversation I was absolutely disgusted. He spoke to her as if she was a piece of dirt on his shoe and then hung up on her mid-sentence. I would advise to whoever manages this place that they reprimand this particular staff member....I would like to give his name but he didn't even have the decency to introduce his RUDE self. read more

This place is the iiiish! when u need a place that has lots of hair and beauty products for a great price...... I damn near lived here when I was in cosmetology school..... they hooked a sista' up when money got tight and perms still needed to be done.... They always had a deal of some sort going on, so you always felt like you walked out with more than you bought. They often make mistakes ringing me up and serve attitude wen u bring it to their attention. Once i took a spray product back that had clogged up and was unfixable and they were livid and refused to replace it. I went to the burbank location and they replaced without hesitation! Just back from this store. Worst impression ever. I asked if I can shop without a special card, they said "no, but you can do with a student card". I have a student card, but I left it at home. So I just wanted to check if they had a shampoo I needed, but they didn't let me to have a look even and ask me out. Is it normal nowadays?? Not to let a potention customer to look around even as if they ask to show documents everybody at the entrance. Rediculous. Okay so I had a bad experience, don't we all from time to time! This location has stepped it up and even know I live closer to another location I make the drive! The staff or should I say current staff goes above and beyond by asking if anything is needed or couldn't be found as well as walking you to your car and asking about your Instagram feed!!! Have been coming to this store for years and have always had great customer service! I've read some of the comments and wonder if we're talking about the same store and staff. Elvia, the manager is being bashed, but I've never had any problems with her. She's always attentive and helpful. Her staff is always asking if I need help and courteous. I've been in the store when people are asking her or the staff questions on how to use chemical products and yes they say they are can't give advice, because they can't be legally responsible if something goes wrong. I've also been in the store when there have been customers asking questions and its so damn obvious that they are not licensed! As a professionally licensed cosmetologist Cosmoprof need to ask for ID because it's not fair to me and other licensed cosmetologist. read more

I have been going to this Cosmoprof for some years now, basically it is very close to my office. I would not say that the staff is over friendly nor do they seem very knowledgeable of their products. If any, my real complaint is that they are always out of stock of shampoos, hair gels and nail polishes and other items I go in for. There are always boxes in the isles and you constantly have to move around them. This cannot be because I am there on delivery day, I go all different times during the week and weekends. I one time went to the store in Northridge, that sales girl was very knowledgeable, friendly, professionally dressed, with a clean look. I don't have anything against people whom color their hair green or purple, but it should still look clean and tidy. When I mentioned to the associate in the Northridge store the differences in the two locations, she seemed quite surprised. Lastly, I keep wanting a new keychain id for my account, and the people at the Encino store say they cannot do anything to help me and I would need to call their corporate office to get a new id tag, seems strange, as this is the store I got the original key tag from 8 years ago, and they gave it to me right there in the store... Oh well, the prices of the products there are pretty darn good, that is why I keep going, and I do like the fact that not just anyone can go buy from there, we need to have a license. Jennifer and the rest of the girls are knowledgeable and helpful. I've been in this business for 20+ years, but this staff still manages to introduce me to tools and products that I had no idea existed. They always seem so genuinely happy to see me when I walk in.....even when they're in the midst of dealing with problem customers. I've seen some of the rude little pigs they've had to deal with. They always know about new products and guide me when I don't know how to use something. They are not pushy, recommend great products and I genuinely love seeing them. A couple of times they were out of a specific devacurl product i needed and they ordered it for me, told me when it would be there and it was. They are not lazy to call other locations or check the back or ask another associate to help answer questions or find products around the store!! and the woodland hills location is great too! If I could give this place a negative star I would! The customer service is ALWAYS horrible and on top of that they always close earlier than listed. As a "professional store" their staff should be educated, friendly and stay open until closing time. I arrived 5 mins before closing time and the store was already closed and no one in site. I get 5 minutes is cutting it close and people want to go home but that doesn't mean clientele stops! The staff is always rude and no one ever greets or even talks to you until you're at the register. Even that is like pulling teeth!
