I called them week after week asking for the status and they said they called my doctor with no answer. called my doctor and they hadn't gotten any calls... now my doctor called them and approved it and when I called to see when it would be in they said they needed approval....again! DUMB! They also answer and say "can you please hold thank you" without even waiting for a response and then have me hold for 10+ minutes. .... never going back here ever again. not even for tampons. This is simply one of the biggest and best CVS' in the Valley. This CVS was originally a SavOn Drugs but was modified to be a CVS after it was purchased. Due to the very large format of the store, and being a constant fixture on Ventura Blvd, folks come here for seasonal items, gifts, and anything that might be required to furnish a home. This CVS has an excellent selection of Christmas items and you might think you are visiting a Hallmark store rather than a CVS! The pharmacy here is The Biggest waste of time, ever. They quoted me the wrong price TWICE, but only to find out after waiting 45 min for my medicine. The final price was more than 3 times what they said!! Then they always have a problem processing my prescription. Three times I go, three times they say something can't be verified, I go to the other cvs on Van Nuys and no problem. Also the line is ridiculous, no matter when you come its huge. I feel like they are disorganized and don't follow the same standards as other pharmacies in the area. The other part of cvs (the store) is below average. The employees have given me the "we're out" excuse instead of looking for the item, and when I went to look... I found it. Great selection and lots of coupons. Pharmacy is very busy, not too friendly, but gets the job done. I do hate the large eye-sore of a parking lot that detracts from an otherwise nice walk on Ventura Blvd. They could use a place to lock your bicycle. This review is for the Pharmacy portion on CVS at this location. I absolutely have to agree with the rest of the people here. The wait to pick up and drop off is atrocious. If you have to pick up or drop off anytime between 9AM and 8PM you will be waiting for at least 30 minutes, guaranteed. You will start playing a game while in line guessing when the automated phone message will say "one pharmacy call". Get used to hearing that while waiting in line. My record is three..."three pharmacy calls." It might not make sense to you now but once you go, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Even when I was dropping off a prescription with no line, NO LINE...I waited 10 minutes before I was served. Avoid getting your Rx filled here, and if you must, bring an iPhone to play Peggle while you wait. read more

Good Lord is this pharmacy bad! Horrible and slooow service, every single time. On my most recent visit, the lady behind-the-counter was "helping" me while chatting on the phone the whole time. At one point, she's talking to me and I think she's still on the phone. Long lines, not very helpful staff, and pure chaos trying to fill orders, assist customers and take calls. 3.5 stars because: Size and selection: 4-5 stars. This is a very big CVS so it carries a lot of stuff from makeup to furniture. Their beer is usually on sale too as well as their big jugs of water. Parking: 5 stars. Huge lot and I always find a spot. Walking from car to store: 0 stars because of the solicitors!!! There is always at least one solicitor standing by the door. Tonight there were two and it was really awkward. I just hate how they make me feel like a terrible person if I don't donate and I don't want to feel guilty going in and out of the store every single time I go there. It gets annoying. The people that work here are liars and do not know what customer service is. I picked up two prescriptions today and after I paid them I asked the man of he could check the status of my third one and if I could update my address. He said that I should wait in the drop off line but I had already waited in line for awhile and I knew for a fact that it could be done from the register he was on because it's been done before. I called him on it and he just said he had to take the next customer. Who says no when all your trying to do is find out the status of your prescription at a freaking pharmacy? Secondly, a few months ago my prescription was misfilled by someone named Ofelia. When I called to confront her she denied it was wrong even though I had the wrong pills to prove it. Furthermore she tried to just sweep it under the rug and tell me to come back for a new one. I called to complain to the manager because this was disturbing to me, and he just said no that it's impossible she swears she fills it right. every time i go to CVS stores i get extremely disappointed with all the paper they waste. every purchase we make there goes a long length of recipts, the more you buy the long the receipts becomes. we all know where paper comes from, they have to cut many trees for us to have this long and tons of paper to take back with us home hoping to save some money. Most of the time i can't use the coupon due to the expiration or not finding anything i want on the piece of paper. Why dont they just give us the discount in their system instead of printing and wasting paper and trees. I am sure that our purchases is stored in their computer and they already know how much we spend monthly and how much coupon we will get at the end of the month, so why not just look that up and honor us the discount. i really hope that they conserve their use of paper and plastic. read more

The pharmacist at this CVS has been incredibly rude many times to me. Most recently he yelled at me on the phone for almost 10 minutes, wouldn't let me get ONE word in because I was trying to fill medication 10 days early (so I, an immunocompromised adult, can stock up and not leave my house for a month or more during a pandemic) which my doctor had sent in & approved. He told me information from my chart which was 100% not true, and wouldn't listen to me when I tried to correct my age - just replied "whatever." I will do whatever I can to avoid this pharmacy again. I feel so disrespected as an adult. I'm still fuming. Adults should never speak to adults like they are children or outrageous monsters. read more

This is my neighborhood CVS and I used to love coming here. But The security guard was constantly harassing me and my partner. This CVS pharmacy is quite good with friendly staff, but no matter which CVS store you call on the phone, they have the worst, dreadful, scratchiest, old piano recording ever for you to listen to while on hold. As I said, this is ALL CVS stores throughout the country. I have complained and complained to store managers, pharmacists and even to CVS national HQ via email and phone. So glad I called this place! I've had the worst experience with Walgreens Pharmacy trying to get my medication. As they refuse to take my prescription because it was faxed. Really good cvs during the day. I work late hours and visit the store at times, both times i was followed around the store and stared at while i picked out a birthday card for my sister. Both times were by the same person. I'm not even sure if he works there but since he decided to walk out and come back to tell me my lights were in suggest to me he's the security guard. I've been in Sherman Oaks for several years and although there are bums and some of the associates (Filipino according to other yelpers) are rude or slow I find the service other wise to be amazing! :) The lines can be a bit awkward waiting for a prescription and sometimes if your really sick its sucks but overall this CVS is convenient and "most" (not all) of the time they have what you need. read more

I couldn't even get them on the phone. After waiting for 30 minutes the first time, a man answered and said, "You have to be on hold" and then disconnected me. Then I called again and waited 45 minutes. A woman answered, very apologetic but said I'd have to be put on hold again and once again, DISCONNECTED me. I then had my husband call from his phone and I called from my phone in hopes that one of us could get someone to answer. Same thing. Waited for 30 min and was disconnected when told we were gonna be put on hold. WHY PICK UP if you're only going to tell us we have to be put on hold and then disconnect us. Horrible. read more

Yes, the pharmacy line here can be a little insane, and as a matter of fact, every single time that I've used this pharmacy, the line is super long BUT the pharmacy staff is super nice and so friendly that you kind of get past the fact that you stood in the hemorrhoid cream line for 20 minutes of your life. Also, the rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful, even at 1:30 am on a Friday night when you are still a little drunk from being at Mad Bull Tavern and you are trying to buy more booze to drink at your apartment with your friends because you missed last call. read more

If I could give zero stars.... The pharmacy has THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I dropped my last prescription off on Wednesday night. I was asked if I could come back the next day, since it would take 3 hours for them to fill. Fine. Then I casually asked how much the name brand would be compare to the generic price. When the clerk said it would be 'about a hundred bucks' I laughed and said generic please...she said it would be $10. I picked up the prescription Friday afternoon. After waiting in line for 40 minutes, I was charged $40. When I asked why it was so much more....'you'll have to call your insurance company to ask why' So I looked at the bag, and they used the name brand. Honest mistake, so for, I'll take the name brand. Paid the $40 and left the store. I get home, open the bag and discover that although the bag and bottle both say 45 pills, there are only 30 in the bottle. I call the pharmacy...after waiting on hold 15 minutes for a clerk to answer..."oh, you'll have to talk to a pharmacist about that...hold on" 40 minutes on hold later, someone picks up the phone and hangs up. So I call again, another 30 minutes on the next round holds, and finally, I speak to a pharmacist. Explain the situation to her. "...I'm sorry, we can't just give those drugs away..." "I'm not asking you to give the drugs away, I'm asking you to give me the right number of pills" "You'll have to come in on Monday and talk to the pharmacy manager and see what he can do for you." I contemplated writing this review because the pharmacy was short handed and busy. However, I had to make 3 trips to pick up my mother's medication for stomach pain and I've never had to do that before ANYWHERE. Obviously, this review is specifically for the pharmacy. I shop at the CVS store frequently and have never had issues. I dropped off the prescription and was told it'd be ready in 2 hours. Understood, it's a week day and you're short on staff. I come back in 2 hours and nothing is ready. I get the obvious feeling that they're hiding the fact that nothing has been filled. I end up waiting another 30 minutes, as others who were there after me already had their meds ready to go. I finally get the prescriptions and am so distracted by my long day at work and how exhausted I am. I get home, only to realize that they forgot to give me one of the meds. Not blaming them yet, as it could've been my fault forgetting there were 4. I get back to the store and they're scrambling to find it. Now I know it's not my fault, they forgot to fill it. As a matter of fact, they misplaced the prescription itself and have to look for this as well. 20 minutes later, I have it. This never happens to me at Walgreens and have just as many pharmacists behind the counter. If it weren't for the urgent need of the medicine, I would've driven the few miles to go to Walgreens. I went in a couple nights ago to fill my prescription, and Haig (the pharmacist) helped me. It was late at night and he was the only one behind the counter. This guy was so sweet, caring, and took his time with me. He also kindly gave me some pointers on how I can save on my prescription given that I don't have health insurance. Came in for my meds that I was just prescribed down the street. I waited an hour and a half longer than they told me it'd be ready by. They didn't have anyone's meds ready and the line was huge. Someone was facetiming and standing around behind the counter. Was so relaxed behind the counter and slow, you'd think there weren't over 20 sick people waiting in a huge line (more than once too! They made me get back in line again so they could get my medication ready while we stood there). No one was wearing their mask behind the counter and they were so rude to everyone regardless of whether they were being really understanding. They should've opened another window with the many people just chilling behind the counter. I was really frustrated by the end of my experience. Not to mention tired from being asked to stand there sick for over an additional hour. Please realize your work is urgent for some people in the line and a semblance of effort would be nice. read more

The only think I disliked is one night I got into an argument with the manager because she wasn't letting a homeless man buy some things on a cold winter night, leading me to spend 50 dollars on small assets for the man since he couldn't come in. But other than the manager, I love the workers and the vibe it gives off. Right when you walk in an employee greets you and asks if you need any help. I have never despised going anywhere as much as when we have to go here once a month to pick up my wife's birth control. They consistently have a 5- 10 person line of people waiting while half of the pharmacists are standing in the back joking around. They have two different service sections, but one is for 'consultations'. They are not competent enough to realize that if nobody needs a consultation it might make sense to help one of the 5+ people waiting for their presciption to be filled. And lets be honest, who would go to CVS for a consultation - its no wonder there is never anybody waiting in that line. Terrible efficiency, worst customer service and even the store itself is dark, dingy and run down. AWFUL! O and they are too expensive. Go ANYWHERE ELSE if possible. read more
