I don't know if its this location or because of age. I've seen this location change its name from Sav-on to Osco Drugs then CVS. Throughout the many years I've been coming here things were great as a child. Growing up I find there isn't too much this store has to offer. While a long run and what seems like its going strong, visiting CVS is very lack luster. This location is prime as it does have a pharmacy and what I believe keeps this location going for the long run. Everything else seems mediocre. In my personal experience I could find the same products else where at a lower price. The selection of items seems limited and there is just no real reason for me to come and shop. While for others, I'm pretty sure CVS is the place to be, not me. There seems to be lacking in employees. Its difficult to ask for help when I am looking for something that I may need at the time. Usually I would need to walk to the front register as there is someone there. While they do have multiple registers, usually there is only one person ringing up everyone. Came by on a tuesday afternoon for my online order- ready to be picked up. Had to form line and it was a busy day, but the line went along pretty quickly. The lady that assisted me was pleasant and quick. For me, the location is convenient and they also have a large parking lot. I like CVS because I get to use my coupons and it does help to save a few bucks on personal are, meds, etc. for the most part, this store has items in stock when I need to place an order online. read more

I think even 1 star is being generous for this store. There's absolutely no customer service at all. I don't think I've ever seen more than 2 registers be open so best believe you're spending an insane amount of time for one item. Chances are that one item that you want is also LOCKED and so you have to wait and pray for an employee to answer the service button. You're better off driving to a downtown location in peak traffic from the valley (you would probably be finished with your shopping earlier than if you go here). read more

Kristen at the consolation window in the pharmacy is the most condescending, rude , and non helpful person to ever work a customer service job. She offers no assistance, no help, no knowledge of what she does. She can't even seem to answer a simple question, everything is a "idk". She created the most unpleasant experience ever, truly a shame that is abomination works as a healthcare provider. Her attitude was disgusting the whole time she was assisting me. CVS SUN VALLEY PHARMACY IS A NIGHTMARE I've had ongoing extreme problems with the CVS pharmacy Sun Valley location for over a year. I've had ongoing problems with the staff withholding release of essential medications, but by far the worst problem was their refusal to release the pain medication prescribed by my orthopedic surgeon the night after my surgery for replacement of my hip joint. This incident took place on the night of April 10, 2024. I had hip replacement surgery the day before and was prescribed pain medication by the operating surgeon, but the head pharmacist at CVS Sun Valley pharmacy refused to release this essential medication. I was unable to walk into the pharmacy due to severe pain from the procedure. I had been told earlier that the pharmacy could release prescriptions to someone carrying my ID and insurance card, and that this applied even to controlled medications. I had a friend who presented my valid ID and insurance card, while I stayed in the car outside. The pharmacy staff refused to release the medication. The head pharmacist eventually became involved and told to my friend that the pharmacy needed "additional electronic verification". This is a technical term that I did not understand, but the pharmacy staff refused to explain what it meant to my friend for quite a while. The head pharmacist eventually explained that additional electronic verification meant an additional email from the prescribing surgeon on the official hospital system verifying the prescription. This was an unnecessary, unrealistic request. What doctor is going to be able to send an additional prescription by email on an official system at 9:00PM at night when they are at home? And why was the pharmacist requesting an additional email in the first place? Why wasn't the original email prescription sufficient? This request was ridiculous and totally unnecessary. While this was taking place I was in the car calling the hospital in order to ask if the prescribing doctor could be contacted and asked to call the pharmacy to verify the prescription verbally. I succeeded in this only through the unofficial help of a kind hospital staff who managed to get through to the surgeon-prescriber at home. The doctor called the pharmacy and told the head pharmacist that he approved the prescription - something that I'm sure many people know that doctors almost never do. Still the lady head pharmacist refused to release the medication. As a result of this action by CVS Pharmacy, Sun Valley, and this head pharmacist in particular, I had only mild OTC pain medication to take during the night after my hip replacement surgery, and I SUFFERED IN SEVERE PAIN ALL THAT NIGHT AND HALF THE NEXT DAY AS A RESULT. One the most fundamental responsibilities of pharmacies and doctors is to do everything they can to ensure that patients don't suffer pain if it's possible to do it without endangering the patient. The CVS Sun Valley pharmacy clearly did not meet this responsibility, and this was a breach of the staff's and the company's ethical responsibilities. I also want to add that on a personal level, my friend explained to me that the head pharmacist was extremely unpleasant to deal with. She was rude and seemed to go out of her way to be uncooperative. Her attitude was such that it seemed she assumed my friend was a suspicious person simply because he was trying to collect a certain type of drug that has had abuse associated with it. This behavior was totally unacceptable. There is nothing suspicious whatsoever about my friend. He is a 69 year-old professional who takes care of his appearance, and the head pharmacist's behavior towards him was insulting. Please note this incident took place 4 months ago during the evening of April 10, 2024, and doesn't necessarily reflect the actions of current management staff, who might have been changed. But I also want to add that I have ongoing problems with this pharmacy regarding their withholding a mild sleep medication. Again, the head pharmacist made it extremely difficult for me to obtain this medication, and IN ONE CASE THEY COMPLETELY DELETED THE PRESCRIPTION WITHOUT TELLING ME. This action also caused me a great deal of suffering. DO NOT USE CVS SUN VALLEY PHARMACY IF YOU DEPEND ON YOUR MEDICATIONS. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Scott H read more

I don't know if the people working the vaccine are worker at this CVS or just temporary working here but they are not organize at all. They don't clearly label where to line up and direct people to different location. We were first in line since we had an appointment and was told to go to the drop off area at the pharmacy. The people behind us didn't have to do that and just went to line up so of course we had to wait again. The shot didn't get administer until 20 minutes after our appointment. I went to another CVS location for my shot and it was so much more organized and more efficient. I only chose this CVS location cause it was close to my house for my mom. The store is okay but it is more dirty compared to other CVS location. The parking lot is huge so there wouldn't be an issue finding parking here. May 9th. I called back to see if my 2nd prescription was ready. The person answering the phone at 7:40 said that the first prescription was restocked since they had it for 14 days (which was a lie since the doctor called it in on Apri 30 which was 9 days ago). I told her that obviously I want to pick up both prescriptions at the same time instead of going there twice to wait in line for 45 minutes each time. She also claimed that that the 2nd prescription was never called in- I was told this a few days ago and Cedars called it i again. (even though Cedars called it in a 2nd time). She also told me I could change my pharmacy. She put me on hold each time I called her out on a lie. Now I am still on hold because I asked her what her name is? She said, I'll be right back. Now on the phone with them for over 18 minutes. Refusing to give me her name and lying and no follow up. It is now 8:02 p.m. and I am hanging up after being on the phone for 22 minutes. Don't fill your prescription here, this location is the absolute worst. If you're a bottom of the barrel pharmacist or pharmacy tech - apply here this is your home! read more

I can't believe they have two stars. I actually really love the workers of this store. It's my home cvs for over 11 years and they're just great. It's usually moderate traffic and moves quickly. Amazing savings and coupons. Can 7/10 find what i need which brings me to why i rated them 4 stars they never ever have stock. This means whether the thieves came in and stole it or the customers bought it out. They just never have anything in stock. From cosmetics to hair supply jump over to laundry. This is my local CVS/Pharmacy - its been okay so far. Staff is mostly nice and helpful. The Pharmacy line can get backed up, doesn't seem like there's enough workers, same with the line in front. Kari Shea and her team are one of the best neighborhood pharmacies I've ever gone to. She and her staff take special care of their customers, despite the sheer number of them in local Sun Valley. She and the CVS manager, Juan, truly care about the experience they have in the store, and they work hard to make sure that concern is perceived in a real-world environment. Never had worst customer service from a pharmacy tech as my husband and I did yesterday. We called them over 5-6 times throughout the day and was given the worst attitude by the same lady. This is the first time we have ever used this CVS because it's closer to where we live now and we will never use it again. I know why they have only 2 stars now. The doctor emailed over the correct amount of medication and she kept telling us we were wrong. The psychiatrist is very busy and had to keep dealing with our calls and e-mails to him because the lady at CVS was telling us he sent over the complete opposite script of what he was telling and showing us. This is so unprofessional. It is one thing to not know how to read an email correctly, but to be rude to a patient who suffers from SEVERE anxiety is the worst thing you can do to someone. I hope the calls and be pulled and you can listen to the way she spoke to us. I hope she learns how to treat people with respect and do her job correctly. The doctor eventually had to have his assistant call in after hours of going back and forth. And then finally they call us back saying everything is resolved and that the script is ready and she made a different lady call us back. However, we went to have our family member pick it up today and now they're saying it won't be ready until the 26th! Why would they call and say it's ready when it isn't? My husband is on an antidepressants and this was for his anxiety medication. How can someone work for a place like this and treat people with mental issues like they are a drug addict or they are wrong etc when she was the one who was wrong? I never write bad reviews and I have been a frequent customer at CVS, however, this is the third and last I come to this one. Every time I come here, I spent at least 1 hour in line and they are extremely slow, but this is due to the poor management in this store. Trying to get help, the manager, Keri Shea, was really UNPROFESSIONAL while coordinating her team, rude and disrespectful with me and other customers that were in line. While waiting in line, lots of customers were complaining about the same issue about how this CVS is managed. I never had such a bad experience at a CVS, only in this location. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I've been coming here for five years against my better judgement. It's actually gotten worse in the last year. There is always a wait longer than 30minutes no matter what time of day I come. I usually come in the early afternoon around 3-4pm and there's a long line. Between 5-6pm, it's the worst. You'll wait at least an hour to get your prescriptions. I have stood in line so long that the pharmacy sent me a reminder text to pick up my meds. Little did they know I was in the long line. Today I came at 1:30pm. The lines were just as long. The pharmacy was fully staffed and it's still slow. I have taken their surveys, Left my opinion, the manager contacted me to have a meeting. I replied back twice that I would like to meet and listed the times and days I would be available. That was two months ago. I have not been called back. Most of the pharmacy staff is nice and helpful. They do their job. The problem is that the management does not staff their pharmacy appropriately during peak hours. In addition, their prescription processing system takes so much time. We have been in their system for five years now and they still take a long time inputting data as if it was for he first time. Then it takes another 45 minutes to wait to receive the prescription. I wish no one would have to get sick and have to come here to get their meds. I feel so sorry for the elderly and sick people I've seen in line who have it so much worse than me. And no one seems to show compassion and offer a seat for these people. This pharmacy is a disgrace to the healthcare industry. If you have a better option to go somewhere else, do it. read more

First of all the ads are not even off the right dates So you would go around the whole store buy a bunch of products and then realize that the special is actually from a day or two days ago. All they would tell you is " I do not know why it's doing this" and that's about it so you basically have to go and doublecheck and do it yourself to actually catch on the mistake that they have done and even if you let them know they have made a mistake they're not going to honor the prices. read more

I know that one mustn't hold too high expectations for a large corporate pharmacy, but there's still much to be desired about this CVS. The pharmacy employees are, for the most part, well-intentioned and will work with you to the best of their capacity. They are, however, understaffed and overworked. The poor efficiency of the pharmacy stems from the seeming lack of communication between their computer system and actual pharmacy: on repeated occasions I've received text messages informing me my prescriptions are ready for pick up. Once I get to the pharmacy, they have no record of the prescription. I appreciate the efforts of the harried staff, but I'll be looking for a smaller, more responsive pharmacy. read more
