3 hour wait for simple allergy medicines today at their pharmacy. Usually the wait is 2-3 hours. Rude pharmacists. One time when I had a horrible kidney infection and was in lots of pain, they refused to give me pain medication from a doctor. They said the doctor didn't send it in even though I personally saw that the doctors office sent and order for a prescription for this particular cvs. They don't have basic things such as Sudafed(allergy med), norco(one of the most common prescription pain relievers), and many others. At least once a week they will either have a problem with their system or their system will be down so they cannot dispense medicines. This is ridiculous. Worst pharmacy I've been to. read more

I would like to express my joy and satisfaction with a particular pharmacist at the Tarzana location. Her name is Liat she has been there for a few years and she's always such a help and always kind. I write this because many of the pharmacists are not helpful or nice!!! List makes me feel very comfortable about my drug prescriptions and always makes sure there are no interactions! Mohammad, the pharmacy technician, at this location is difficult to deal with. He does not listen to customer explanations and is quick to tell the customer to call their doctor even though there is a prescription ready. He is horrible with customer service. As a RN who constantly calls in prescriptions to this location, I do not trust their electronic system. Not sure why it didn't have all great reviews- maybe people are reviewing the store, because the pharmacy is amazing! I love drive-throughs so I've been using Walgreens the past few years, but they closed the Tarzana location and the Reseda location is terrible. I mean, like horrible! This CVS handled a drug transfer for me, from a mom and pops pharmacy on the bottom floor of the doctor's office that is only open 9-5, M-Fr. Cvs managed to turn it around the same day and were super communicative during a fairly tricky procedure (lots of weird little things with my insurance.) They are timely, always answer their phones, sound confident and competent! I'm switching everything to them, even if it keeps I have to get out of my car and walk in. Avoid this CVS Tarzana at all costs. Go to the CVS Encino branch (16461 Ventura) minutes away. The pharmacist who administered the Covid shot on 4/21/22 at 4:40 pm is very rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, horrible attitude and does not understand why an immuno-compromised cancer patient wants to wait just outside of pharmacy door for a 20 minutes wait time until it is her turn. I took my immuno-compromised mother for her 4th Covid shot at the CVS located at 18441 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, CA. We got to her appointment early they told us it will be 20 minutes. She stood just outside of the entrance door (due to being immuno-compromised) and I was waiting at waiting area both of us having our cellphones in our hand so I can call her to walk inside when they call her name. Exactly 5 minutes later (not the 20 minutes they told us) they called her name and I called her to walk inside. I explained to the Pharmacist that she is Immuno-compromised waiting outside the entrance door and she is walking back inside. The pharmacist was very unaccpeting, RUDE, disrespectful and complaining for those 15 seconds that my mother walked from entrance door to shot area. While she is administering the shot, she kept being super rude and complaining to my mother " I have been waiting a long time for you". These were her exact words. This is a pharmacist who has zero sympathy or respect for an immuno-compromised patient for the 15 seconds that it took her to walk from outside of door entrance door to shot area does. My mother was lost for words. She said she will never step in this pharmacy. We are used to Encino branch Pharmacists who are very caring and respectful. II switched from Tarzana CVS to a new pharmacy several years ago due to their incompetence and disgraceful service. Unfortunately, I had to use CVS to fill a prescription today because it was off hours. They did not have the medicine but said it was available at the Encino CVS pharmacy. I was told "they would make the prescription available online" so it could be transferred to the Encino CVS pharmacy. 3 hours & 3 calls later to EACH pharmacy, they still do not have it filled. Tarzana CVS blames it on Encino CVS. Encino CVS blames it on Tarzana. By that time, my regular pharmacy was open. Tarzana CVS gave my pharmacist a hard time when he called to get the prescription transferred to him. I'm now waiting on a call back from my doctor so she can call my regular pharmacist to get it filled. This is not the first time something like this has happened in which my pharmacist had to call CVS on my behalf. Before switching, CVS had denied receiving prescription orders from my physicians, lost prescriptions, handed me the wrong prescription, and taken hours to fill a prescription they had on stock. Still the worst pharmacy I've dealt with. I have seen multiple people in the pharmacy contend with all the same types of issues. Without further a do, let me start the list: (1) 15 - 20 minute hold times when calling in. (2) I've stood in line and listened to caller on hold message play relentlessly, with three pharmacy staff answering one question from one customer, multiple customers stood in line...and let's just say speed was not an option for this staff. (3) On three occasions pharmacy staff attempting givingv me someone else's meds. (4) I encountered rude behavior on several occassions. This should. E enough for the moment. This has got to be the most disorganized, unprofessional, understaffed pharmacy I've ever dealt with. Unfortunately, it is also the only 24-hour pharmacy for many miles. I also am doubly cursed because my pharmacy carrier is CVS Caremark, which essentially forces me to cope with this place on an ongoing basis. Where to start? Every infuriating and time-wasting nonsense you can think of is a specialty of this pharmacy. For openers, it's virtually impossible to get these people to answer the phone. Ever, ever, ever. As I write these words, I have been listening to their "on hold" music for 45 minutes. And it's 3:30 a.m.!! I can't begin to enumerate the examples of incompetence and indifference. In two years of using this pharmacy, I don't think there's been one time when they haven't screwed up. When they encounter some kind of insurance or other bureaucratic issue, they just don't fill the prescription, and, most maddeningly, they don't even tell you about it. I hate this pharmacy. I've been ill so I haven't had a chance to move my prescriptions somewhere else, but I will do that in the next month. There is always a long line no matter when you go there. It's right under the a/c vent so you have to stand in a long line and freeze. People who come are are often: older (like me), sick, mothers or fathers with kids. They need to set up some kind of process where a customer can take a number or sign in or something, so we can run and do other shopping rather than spending 15 min STANDING in line (which is harder for some of us). They scoff at the idea. They are always way too busy. You can never get in on the phone. If you look at other reviews, you'll see that I'm not the only one. Absolute worst pharmacy to go to. Patient care, consideration, and values are completely disregarded here. 1) They do not answer their phone calls. 2) They were out of stock on my flu medication, and did not contact me, or the doctor to address this. I went there earlier in the day and they just indicated my prescription is not ready yet. 3) They received my prescription by 11am. The medication (partial), was ready around 6pm. 4) They push you around through the lines, waiting no good reason, and without consideration for their patients. Do yourself a favor and support a local small business pharmacy who may actually care about your health and welfare. This is just a corporate enterprise who sees us as just a number. this is my neighborhood CVS. This review isn't for the Pharmacy Department but for CVS Associate (OSCAR). This was by far the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I was shopping for nail polishes and there was a rack with open nail polishes which I did open 2 bottles and tried the color on 2 fingers to see if I like the nail polish color and if the content is thick or shear and if it dry's fast. Those nail polishes cost $2.50 I liked the color but not the quality so I ended buying better nail polishes for total of $60+ dollars and I had a 30% off coupon. which I ended spending 48$+ on nail polishes. Oscar was so rude to me, he asked if I tried the nail polish and I told him yes I did and he told me to bring the nail polish that I tried and told me to buy it because I tried it on. I told him what is the point of me buying it if I don't like it and I will return it anyway. he said what I did was very rude to use something and not buy it. he saw all the nail polishes I bought for worth of 60$, I didn't come to play with nail colors just wanted to get good one for me to use. I explained to him that they are all open there and I didn't open a new color to try. I told him I am sorry but you shouldn't be talking to me in such a rude manner, he called me rude and was raising his voice at me as if I stole from him. I told him I am the customer and he shouldn't be talking to me like this. I called CVS and complained to the manager on how I was treated. I spent over 300-400 a month here and will not be coming to this store again I have been with CVS since they bought saveon, I am switching to Rite Aid hopefully they will treat me better and talk to me like an adult. Unfriendly pharmacist and rude staff! Went for a flu vaccine on 11/30/16. The pharmacist didn't say hi, didn't introduce herself, didn't ask me any questions or my arm preference, didn't talk about the steps, proceeded to inject the vaccine in the upper third of my left arm (which is the place to stay away from given the increased risk of injury to the bursa) and then said, "that's it". My recommendation is to have immunizations administered by a licensed medical doctor and if you can, go to a different pharmacy. read more

If you have a prescription for a specialty medication, use a different pharmacy. Every time I go in there, they never know where it is. They can never find it. They call me telling me they have it. I go in there, they tell me it's in West Hollywood. I call West Hollywood, they give me the tracking number and the person who accepted delivery in Tarzana. I call Tarzana and they tell me they found it. I go in there and they can't find it. Then sometimes I get a notice on my door saying they tried delivering it to my house but signature was required. I talk to the manager. I call every phone number they give me. Round and round we go. No one takes the initiative to figure it out and fix whatever system is broken over there. So I guess they just don't want to give me my medicine. I'll go to a pharmacy that does. read more

I'd like to commend Tina for doing an outstanding job getting my sons new medication. I usually go to the CVS in Woodland Hills and the service was unbelievably poor. I was put on hold 3 times for 10 minutes and hung up on! Than when I did get through the gal didnt forward the medication to this CVS. Bottom line I hand to call his doctor to have the medication sent here. From now on I will be going to this CVS. Worst company to have a pharmacy. Even worse costumer service. Was told my they had my sons medication, but upon arrival 2 hours later (the time they told me to come.) they didn't have the medicine. Why would they make someone wait and tell them they had it in the first place. The Manager did a horrible job of trying to take care of me, and simply walked away once she handed the problem to someone else, all with a frown on her face. Avoid coming here at all costs! Even if you have to drive another couple of miles to utilize another store, do yourself a favor and make the extra commute. The staff couldn't be ruder if they tried. I had called in a prescription and they said they would have it ready within the hour and would even text me when it was done. 60+ minutes later, I called just to check in since I was going to be driving by the area, and the most antagonistic associate picked up the phone. She was very short with me and said it would be another hour before she quickly hung up without even a goodbye; much less a pleasant "Is there anything else I can help you with?" 30 seconds later, a text popped up saying my prescription WAS in fact ready. I thought the conflicting information was strange, but decided to just be glad for the news. When I arrived, they didn't have my prescription ready at all and I had to wait another 15 minutes while they put my stuff together. I usually try not to buy into the negative reviews of an establishment too much since each person's individual experiences can differ, but I think in this case, they deserve every disparaging comment.
